At first I thought Oombi was a mountain lion from the Cottonwood wilderness area, probably because the picture is sideways, then I realized it was a cat and also I somewhat have mountain lions on my mind. Nice pictures.
Cindy glad you had help with the yard work, I bet you and Bruce like the way the yards looks more orderly and cleaned up now. God bless the helpers.
The Go Go's ? the women rock and roll singers, I remember them on water skies on a lake, that is one thing I never wanted to do was to water ski. I thought they did well while they were able to last doing what they did, but then why not they made a lot of money.
Glad you have a nice area to live at Barbra, better than being stuck in a city like Omaha or worse yet Chicago.

Just checking in....
People here running around like thier hair is on fire about covid19...I managed to discover that hospitalizations in the Australian state of Victoria run at 6% of cases, ICU cases at 0.7% of cases and deaths at 1.9% of cases, but all deaths are 65 years and older, and I suspect due to pre existing conditions. I dont think covid itself kills, it just puts extra pressure on the body just like a bad flu would also do. Hospitals get more money though to say its a covid death...which is horrible profiting of dying... Victoria has had 113 deaths from covid, but in 2019 334 people died from flu. Hmmmm...
Anyway, from the medical papers Ive read that mask wearing is really only useful for sick people, healthy people really dont benefit and you just re-breathe your own spit...yuck.
The media of course pushes the liberal agenda which includes harassing people to kowtow to mask wearing... no thanks if im healthy...bhysteria is running things, not logical thought.

There's been talk that wearing a face mask can cause a person to breathe in carbon dioxide, causing headaches and dizziness. Yesterday I heard it suggested that people wear a face mask inside their home.

OH yeah I saw that movie they going have more John Ford today in final day of spotlight of him on TCM today with new docuemtary that come on later John Ford America well last week they have rarely seen infamous movie with Woody Strode who was first real African American actor in Ford movie play former Union soldier being accused of murder
THat was good movie it was flop turn out be very make you rethinking of John Ford legacy btw TCM start tommroow going show Summer under the star with each star being feature for his/her day
summer.tcm.com/ One of the last ones I watched is called, A Vow to Cherish, and boy was it good! I told my daughter not to bother even starting it unless they had a full box of tissues right next to them! Then we watched one called, The climb, and that was good too and made me cry at the end when the bad boy finally got saved. The neat thing was that they were both true stories, if i recall correctly. I was wondering Cindy...if Jillian2/June had that much trouble getting on...
I wonder if anyone else also did, but gave up trying?
About Oregon.
I grew up in West Mystic, Conn...so of course, I love New England!!!!!!!
I lived in Hawaii for about 13 years
and in Northern Calif for about another 13 year or so ( my least favorite place)
then we have been in Oregon for about 30 years.
I love both the East Coast and West...and Hawaii for beauty, scenery Tho New England has the best scenic old homes and prettiest Fall and even winter snow
But I do love Seaside Or. not only the weather ( will will be around 68 today)
But another neat thing about the West Coast is no mosquitoes!!!
If any try to travel here, the winds blow from West to East and send them all inland ( ha ha Portland)
I have never seen one ( mosquito that is...I have seen Portlanders..... the wind does not seem to blow them away as easily LOL but actually when it starts raining they mostly leave )
and we have been here 20 years
Also almost no snakes, I saw a wee little snake one time here ( of course no alligators or reptiles, scorpions creatures like that)
And Seaside is neat because to the East we have low-ish ( maybe 1,500 feet to around 4,000 feet more to the south) forested mountains
I live 2 blocks from the ocean and one block from the Necancum River
We have lots of rivers, lakes and of course the ocean here and it stays green all year round...well we do get some Fall colors and some trees drop their leaves for winter.
The marine layer comes rolling back each night about 90% ( I would guess on average) of nights... which is another reason we stay on the moderate range of temps.
We get a dusting of snow, maybe 3 times in the winter
and hail
but a local 'secret' is:
we can also be 70 degrees for a few days in the deep winter LOL it's possible others have had a hard time, but then I have no idea what was causing her problem or how it was solved, so don't know how easy it would be to duplicate. I can't think of anything that would cause someone to have a problem like that....
Your home sounds just about perfect Barbara! But New Hampshire has one thing that your home doesn't that would make me choose it anyway, and that's my children and grandchildren . Other then that though, it sounds heavenly! That consider heat wave 70 degree for my Alaskan relatives man I check out my Weatherbug app they saying it almost 89 pushing 90 at almost 11am pst here in SO CAl I told the father that I put on AC most likely in the afternoon I don't like it put until really hot for my body tempature We got a wonderful new Air conditioner for the kitchen and it really cools down the whole house nicely! It works 1000% better then the old one we had! This is breaking off ET and BBC wire look like James Murdoch the son of Rupert Murdoch Godfather of Fox news has just resign over editional content apparently this been brewing inside Fox news little while Jimmy want bring Fox news in center they are too many Roger Alies allies in the company STILL www.bbc.com/news/business-53617966 Kelly, you can post stuff about movies, or books in this thread, or things that are just funny or precious here, (as long as there isn't any swearing), but please keep all other news in the news forum. I just realized that it would be difficult for me to move anything you post here to the news forum, I'll have to start a thread there just called Kelly's News, so that I can move any news posts to that thread if I have to. I sure hope I don't have to do that though.

I like when people can just be themselves and say what they want to, what they are interested in, I think what makes it fun is that everyone is a little different, yet we all like each other. In another chat forum I go to we are told to just be ourselves and not try to be like someone else.

Hi friends! And a special hello to Jillian (we're already FB friends!).
I wanted to post an update on my mother and ask you all to please continue praying for her. She had appointments last week, first with a radiologist and later, an oncologist. Due to the type of breast cancer she has, they want her to undergo both chemo and radiation, even though she's only Stage 1 (thank God).
Today she had a "tele-visit" with her primary care doctor and my sister and I had her ask him, "What would you advise me to do if I were your mother?" (Meaning, should she do the chemo & radiation? She has already decided to take the radiation, but it's the chemo that we all feel uneasy about.) He honestly said that due to her age (79) and possible side effects, he would tell his mother just to take the radiation but not chemo.
So now, further unsure about what to do, she then called the radiologist again (to discuss what the PCP advised) and he really feels that she would benefit from the chemo too, due to the aggressiveness of her tumor (which has been removed). He said she's very healthy for her age and can tolerate it.
Confused?!? So are we! Please pray for God's direction and peace about what to do.
I mean.... she could do nothing and the cancer might never return, or she could do both treatments and it returns anyway. There's no guarantee either way. Actually I just pray that the rapture happens and we won't have to worry about it at all!

In another chat forum I go to we are told to just be ourselves and not try to be like someone else. So do I Marlene, that's the best way to be for sure! And I've always been myself no matter what. I've always wanted my life to be an open book; sharing even my sins so that others could learn from my mistakes too. I know I've changed a lot since I first opened FH. The Lord has taught me so much and what He's taught me has changed me on the inside.

Hope you have fun...are you guys going to go swimming? Bee but?! I took my kids swimming almost daily during the summer and that seems to have stuck with them as they've done the same with their kids.Little Lord Faulteroy 1936, I saw that movie recently. I remember that movie! I'll have to check and see if it's on Amazon, so I can watch it. (I don't feel like searching all the other channels lol) Watched another christian movie yesterday. It was OK, but nothing to get excited about.. I'll try another one today if I have time.

Actually I just pray that the rapture happens and we won't have to worry about it at all! Wouldn't that be great if the Lord came to get us now? Yes, it's so hard to decide what to do. Bruce's cousin had stage 4 cancer. She got treated with both and amazingly she had 0 side effects from the chemo and felt great the 2 years she was being treated! Of course, we know the Lord took away the side effects. But then there are others who do have nasty side effects and feel awful the entire time. Here's a thought...could she take the chemo one time and see how it goes and then decide what she wants to do? I will keep praying of course. You take care too Lori. I sure miss hearing from you. But I also understand that it's a pain to have to post both here and on facebook.

Will continue praying for your mom Leigh
I wonder if she could do what Cindy asked....try it once and if it was too awful, then no more?
I think, I might be tempted if it were me, to forgo the chemo But I really don't know
I would much much much rather be raptured!!

How is everyone today? I'm hanging in there. I hope everyone else is too. The good Lord protected us all from the tropical storm. We just got a lot of very high winds and some rain, which we badly needed. We could actually use a lot more rain here. Some folks wells have gone dry and that's a real pain. I know because ours used to do that when we didn't get enough rain. It's not easy to keep yourself and 5 kids clean when your well is dry! One of many things I did was had my kids go outside in their bathing suits with a bar of soap and the shampoo every time it rained! My grandkids love to hear stories about that!
