Cindy, I am going to send you and whomever, out our DVD's that we are making from the tour. I will let everyone know the closer we get to the production. I have written 6 songs that are going on the label, this coming June. " Carry My Cross", is one of my songs. I am not going to go any further with this because I really want to surprise everyone when its completed. I will be around the board, tonight. Have a good evening . Good, we are looking forward to that.

Anna: I meant to reply to your carrot tops.....I actually have started incorporating them into my green smoothies ( raw, because the fruit, dates etc. totally cover any bitter taste). Of course I do other greens ( I try to do different ones as much as I am able, with different fruits and/or berries)
Today will be day 20 of green smoothies in a row.
Thank you Cindy for you careful explanation of the new stuff on FH. I was able to follow your directions....I never would have figured it out by myself LOL

Good evening Barbra, I have been busy working around the home and outdoors, seven days a week, for a month and I will be doing that in the month of April also. I never thought about carrot tops until I saw a cooking video and never see carrot tops in the stores that I go to, but last time I went I did see a bunch of carrots with the tops, so I bought them. I tried a sample of the carrots tops raw in a salad and did not like it so I threw the carrot tops outside on the ground, yesterday i smelled a deer near-by and the carrot tops were gone, then I pressure cooked a few carrot tops that I saved to try like that and I liked them pressure cooked, they go in my veggie burgers that I have just learned how to make. I like veggie burgers and plan to make them all the time, so I hope to be able to find carrots with the tops again the next time I go grocery shopping. Green smoothies sound good to have, tonight my smoothie blender broke, it was a few months old so I had bought another smoothie blender to have on stand-by and I now using the new blender. The blenders work well when they are new. I always make a smoothie using frozen banana, orange juice, and milk, somethings coco. I make it thick so it is somewhat like ice cream.

If you guys like that stuff, I'm happy for you. But to me they sound disgusting. No way would I ever even try that stuff.
Bruce came home from work after only an hour or so, with his head bothering him again. He did a lot yesterday, so I'm wondering if that caused it or what.... I just don't know....

Anna: Speaking of blenders I bought from my landlord an old 3600 model ( the first I believe) vitamix. I think they made it in 1969 or so. His wife hate the old retro look, so he sold it to me for $40
It is made of heavy duty steel ( the container is not plastic, so no chance of plastic eventually pitting off into one's smoothies etc.)
I once read a person's comment on the old 3600. They had accidentally left a thick wooden stir stick in it and it ate thru it like a wood chipper....the whole thing....gone LOL
This one I got from my landlord is still working. It is built like a tank and works like a beast.
I have had a number of blenders in the past, none lasted more than a couple of years, this thing is 40-50 years old and it still looks and works great.

Well, I don't just makes green smoothies with it, I can make soups, custards, ice cream, grind grains, etc.
I never ever ever thought I would even take a sip of a green smoothie, that seemed disgusting to me also.
However, not trusting this whole opioid crisis and doctors wanting patients to try mindfulness and yoga instead, I thought I would try see if it might help.
But a handful of spinach leaves with lots of fruits and berries, turned out to be tasty....the fruit totally masks and 'veggie' taste.
i have never been big on veggies soooo its a way to increase them in my diet. I have always been a sugar addict, and so I lean heavily to ( besides candy, pies, donuts etc etc.) fruits and berries and 'green' stuff....ummmm no
But I don't even know there is green stuff in my smoothies ( usually the blueberries turn the smoothie purple, or strawberries turn it pink etc.
The think I am thinking is green things may have nutrients that sugar does not, and maybe, those nutrients might help....or not.
But if I get totally cut off of pain meds soon, I am trying to find anything (food or nutrition wise) else that 'might' help ( and nothing but God alone may be the answer).
I am so sorry to hear about Bruce...that is a little worrisome huh?

Wow a vitamix that turns a wooden spoon into wood chips.LOL Enjoy using your vitamix, wish I had one. I was surprised to see the price of a new 3600 vitamix, over 500 dollars, who could afford that but a millionaire. A person used to be able to buy a used running car for 500 dollars. I have to change my diet to be able to afford to buy food, with the price of food always increasing, so I now eat more beans, rice, lentils and oats.
I hope Bruce just needed a good rest and is doing well now.

Back then they actually had some pride in the things they made and made things to last. Not today, now it's the opposite; they want things to break so people will buy another one so they can make more money. It's the same way with everything, from little things to big ones, like cars. That's great you were able to get that from her!Well, I don't just makes green smoothies with it, I can make soups, custards, ice cream, grind grains, etc.

I am so sorry to hear about Bruce...that is a little worrisome huh? I understand what you mean, and I'm happy for you if you happen to like it. I guess I have a strange philosophy about stuff like that (by stuff like that I mean any alternative medicine, food, pill, supplement, vitamin, patch, or folk remedy)....The way I look at it is that if there was anything that actually worked to really relieve pain well, there wouldn't be anyone in pain by now, because everyone would know about it and even the doctors would be telling people to get that right away. It would be common knowledge, everyone would use it (or at least 99% would), and there would be no one saying it didn't work for them, or didn't work well, etc. Like when antibiotics were first used to save life's from things that aren't even scary to us anymore. It didn't take long before everyone knew about them and everyone was quick to want them and use them when they were needed. (to the point they were overused!).
I've heard all about diet supposedly helping people with this or that disease, but haven't found anything that actually worked. I've eaten "properly" and as you know, now I don't eat anywhere near "properly" but felt the same way no matter what i ate or didn't eat. I hear all this stuff about sugar, but again, I felt and feel the same way regardless of how much sugar I eat. I honestly believe that for the majority of people that believe it helps them, it's pretty much a placebo affect. And that's fine, as long as it's helping them, who cares why?
I do take a daily vitamin (that only has 50% of the approved amount since I can't take anything with 100%), but it hasn't made me feel any different then I did for all the years I didn't take one. I only do so now so my blood work will come out right lol. Wow a vitamix that turns a wooden spoon into wood chips.LOL Enjoy using your vitamix, wish I had one. I hope Bruce just needed a good rest and is doing well now. Yeah, the price of things is just ridiculous these days. Thanks hon. Sadly, he's still feeling sick today and stayed home. I'm not sure if I should cancel my appointment for this afternoon or not. I don't know if he's going to feel up to driving there.... We'll see..... So any prayers for him would be appreciated!

No I understand what you are saying Cindy. I always have a healthy concern about 'new age' life style when trying to see if any diet changes will help either with pain, or energy.
Like I mentioned I have been a big big sugar fiend all my life and never big on veggies. And yes, the big push in new ageism is 'raw vegan' veggies.
Still, I do feel a wee bit more energy with the green smoothies ( it's a way to eat greens for me). I forgot to add that I also put in basil, or cilantro, parsley, or mint ( I have a ton growing, and it's green ....and it does not taste bad).
I am NOT into new age, but I just am trying to see if sugar vs. veggies makes any difference?
Do veggies have any more nutrients, than sugar and chemical laden packaged foods?
If so, will it make any difference... or not .....as your experience has been?
But IF it makes even some positive difference, the easiest and quickest way to eat more ( at least for me) is to make a smoothie....because.... I get to mask it with tons of fruits and berries, which I really do like!!
Yup, I remember when my adopted parents ( who were born in the 1890's) bought an item, they expected it to last a life time....and most of it did.
I do think things are made today, with the purpose of only lasting a few years, so folks will be forced to buy again and again.
Oh and like eating of dandelion greens ( picked early spring, for free, and small young leaves taste like spinach... did I mention the FREE part LOL
But I looked at its nutritional value
( no I don't waste a lot of time on this, but if I have to tarry a bit longer before the rapture, and IF its God's will for me to do any "good works" (now that I am saved...not that good works saves anyone)
and IF I can get any small extra energy to be able to do anything ( clean the house, teach grandchildren about the Bible etc.), I am just trying to see if food has any effect or none whatsoever ( then back to donuts here I come LOL)
but the nutritional value of dandelion greens looks good
The serving size of 1 cup of dandelions(55 gm) provides 25 calories.
Amounts per 1 cup, chopped dandelion greens(55g)

One thing that bugs me is the switch of measuring from the way I learned to the European way of mg, cg, k etc etc. I have to constantly find conversion tables arrrggghhh!
I will pray for Bruce for sure. I am so sorry he is still hurting!!!!!

Cindy, praying for Bruce.
I wish I had dandelions growing wild here, but I don't. I like dandelion greens and the flowers also. I heard that there are more vitamins in the carrot tops than in the carrots. I do have wild clover growing here.

I didn't mean to imply there was anything wrong with trying things like that. I don't think there is. After all, I tried using the soap to stop muscle spasms and it works, and the vicks to stop coughs. I don't mind trying things that aren't disgusting to me and I'm sure if you're trying that that it must not be disgusting to you, and that's great. Especially if it helps you. I'm just saying that without a ton of evidence there's no way I'd try anything that was disgusting to me. As far as vegetables go, I've always liked them, and fruit too. But not that stuff, no matter how much nutritional value it has I'm just weird like that. People are always saying how great fish is, but I'd rather starve then eat that, and made that very point when I was only 9 years old! My Mom made fish for dinner and insisted that I had to eat it. I said "no way!" so she said I had to sit there till I did, so I sat. When it was a hour past my bedtime, she finally gave up and let me go to bed and never tried to get me to eat it again! Cindy, praying for Bruce.

He went to work this morning....I think he felt a little better, but I don't think he was really ready to go back to work. He did anyway though. I know he doesn't want to let them down as they've been so good to us.

I like fish but I think it can depend on how its cooked. But I am a poor New Englander in that I do not like clams, oysters, and other slimy ocean things. Tho I do like crab and lobster.
I am glad to hear Bruce feels a little better, but yeah, my thought would have been maybe it was too soon to go back. Tho I can understand he did not want to let them down.

I won't touch anything like clams, oysters, lobsters, etc either and feel just like you do, that they're slimy and I'd add, gross!
He made it through the day yesterday and is at work again today, although it surprised me as he was in a lot of pain last night. I prayed for him and God eased His pain right away, but I wasn't sure if He would keep it away so Bruce could work, as I didn't know what would be best for him...like, maybe he needed to go to the doctor or something. But I guess he doesn't cause he's still at work and it's almost noon now...
thankfully he has an appointment with the neurologist on April 2nd. Maybe he can help him more.

Thanks for asking Lulu, he was doing better yesterday. Jenn dropped the kids off for me to watch, along with a little one she's babysitting, because her husband had a doctor appointment. They got here at the same time Bruce got home from work. He and Elijah worked on his truck, and Grace helped me by keeping the 4 year old amused lol. But I could tell that Bruce was feeling good since he was out playing with his truck Jenn's husband, Bob, finally has an appointment to see the orthopedic doctor. I've been telling them he needed to see him for the last couple of years now. The poor guy is often in a lot of pain in his hip and knee, but doctors often won't look for a cause beyond "weight" when the person is overweight. I kept telling them that even being overweight wouldn't cause that much pain; it might add to the pain, but it wasn't going to cause it. Finally now maybe he will get some help!
I'm glad you're feeling better and hope those cold sores are gone soon! Sorry to hear that Ron's been sick though. I hope he's feeling much better soon too. I bet you're both enjoying the quiet as much as Mace is! I love my kids and grandkids and love seeing them, but I love being able to relax in a nice quiet house when they leave too!

Lulu, get you some Vitamin E gel caps. Break it open and smear the oil on your lips. It's not only very soothing, it clears up cold sores right quick.

We had a quiet relaxing Sunday. Saturday was hard as we had to do the shopping. It looks like I'm going to finally graduate to those electric carts. I just can't walk that far anymore. Oh well, at least they have them. Otherwise I'd have to stay home.

So sorry to hear that Cindy!!!
I am waiting to see if my PCP ( who is on vacation) agrees with the female doc who would not order 2 pills for anxiety for a MRI, I am supposed to have this Thurs.
The reason I wanted something for this MRI is it will A) be approx one hour B) they will use dye C) I will have to be on my stomach the whole time ( I do not lie on my stomach even for a minute ever...so for an hour???)
I did not realize those 3 things when my doc suggested the MRI. I have had 2 MRI's in the past, and none of those things were a part.... rather, only 20 mins, no dye, not on my stomach (but rather on my back).
If he agrees I should not or cannot have something to deal with the claustrophobia, then I will have to cancel. Actually, I would be fine with that.

Hi everyone!
Just popping in, to check on ya'. You didn't know you had a FH stalker, did you?
Barbara, I'd cancel too. If the doc can't work with you like he thinks he knows what you're about, then he isn't worth it. My doc won't leave me alone about tests. He wants me to get a colonoscopy........NOPE.....then he scheduled me anyway.......I canceled it. Then he wants me to get a breast exam. I had one last year, TWICE!, and I'm sorry, but those people think my boobs are play-doh, and they hurt me for the last time. He scheduled me......I canceled it. I got a call, last week, from the women's clinic. Probably for a pap smear. I ignored the message. And if he says "Well women at your age.....", one more time, I'm going to slap him!!!
Cindy, yep, lol you probably heard that from me, about the vitamin E. It's the poor man's remedy for my citric acid intolerance. That, coupled with benedryl, and I can keep a canker sore from developing into that infection that happens when I've had too much citric.
Cindy, I think that when you start using the cart, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Ed loved it. He'd get on that thing and I had to walk fast to keep up with him. I needed to hold on to the back of the seat and use the cart as a cane, because we'd just use the basket on the cart, for our groceries, instead of a regular basket. But, I kept having to ask Ed to please slow down, because I can't walk that fast. You'll get your shopping done in record time, for sure!

Cindy, For a couple of years , I had to use the electric carts. Nothing wrong with that!! Hello Lulu, Hello Cheryl. Its been a pretty interesting Monday. Had to handle Shirley's Medicare , here in the State of Florida. Not an easy switch over from Oregon. Got it handled though. Shirley has better options, here in Florida. Long day at my office. I hope everyone has a Blessed Evening.

That's crazy they won't give you something! They gave Bruce something for his and would have given me something if I'd asked too, but I didn't realize how long mine would be, so I didn't. I'd cancel it for sure if they won't give you anything, and I'd tell the doctor that's what I'd do, then he can choose. That way you're not the one refusing anything, they are and that's inhumane!Hi everyone!
I can just imagine the two of you doing that Cheryl! I also canceled all those kind of tests for the same reasons. Now they rarely ask me about them. Every once in a while they will...but I just say no thanks, and they leave me alone again lol. I figure if I've got cancer or anything else besides all the stuff I've already got, even if it's going to kill me, so what? It's not like that's the end of the world - it's only the end of this one, and that doesn't bother me at all! Not that I'm trying to kill myself, but I don't want to spend all my time at a doctor or hospital. I hate those places! God knows when my time is and that's when I'll go, and not a second before then, no matter what tests I take or don't take or what the doctors do or don't do. It's amazing the vast differences there are between some states concerning medicare. I'm glad you got that taken care of for her. I know there's nothing wrong with it...I just hate having to use them. I hated having to use a cane or walker too, and still do, even though now I use the cane most of the time; even around the house. To me it's just another indication that I can do less and I don't like to admit that even to myself. But what is, is and I can't change it, so unless God does, that's what I'll be using from now on.

I hear you!! I use a cane, for balance mostly. Shirley should be using a cane but lately she has been very stubborn about using it. She is walking better, now. Enough about us, Cindy, you need to do what you feel comfortable doing. Don't worry about what others think, because nobody has walked in your shoes. I hope this helps and will continue to keep you and Bruce and family, in our prayers. God Bless!!

Using the cane is a pain especially around the house as you can't really carry much when you use it, so you can't do much either. That's the part that bugs me. I guess that's why I still often wind up using the furniture to grab hold of lol
