Hi everyone - thank you for praying for Daniel's friend Michael.
I just wanted to update that Daniel and another friend went over to the hospital and sat with Michael for about 30 minutes this afternoon. He's doing okay, but not great. He's still in pain and he can't really eat at this point, either. Please continue praying for his full recovery. Hopefully he'll get to go home Monday and if not then, perhaps Tuesday. His father definitely plans to be in contact with the first hospital that messed up, and I think he will go all the way to the top, which is good. I know that after hearing about this incident, our family is unlikely to trust/use this hospital even though it's the closest one to our house, and that's a shame.

Good morning my friends! Boy I slept much better than any baby ever has last night! I think I was asleep even before I closed my eyes But then that's pretty much how I was all day too. Guess it was just that kind of day for me, almost like it didn't even happen lolYou are right Cindy, about half of the sites, are saying its fake news and half say its true.... I can imagine Obama might have made it more Islam friendly but maybe not.
I will go to the first visit...it's more of a talk one, and I will let Alex (PT) know, I won't do yoga, mindfulness etc. and that I had basically zero results previously....
but I am thinking maybe doc needs to show I am 'trying' to deal with my pain and am not just a 'drug' addict?
Leonard is having a lot of neuropathy foot pain today ( due to diabetes). He had some before but today its way worse.
Ouch! I hate the neuropathy pain, especially in my feet. It feels like you're walking on raw meet when it happens! I'll certainly include relief from that in my prayers for him too. Boy can I relate to that! I sure hope he starts feeling better soon. Oh, maybe what I do for it would help him... I use lidoderm patches on my feet and it really helps a lot! I've always gotten them by prescription but have discovered that they're available over the counter now, as is the lotion. So he might want to give that a try if he hasn't already. I couldn't deal with it without those.Good afternoon, everyone. I thought I should pop in and try to get caught up with everyone, before it gets so long ago, that I have to start all over again. I really do enjoy being back, so I can fellowship with my Christian family again. I knew I missed y'all when I would lurk in here once in a while, and couldn't respond or congratulate someone on something really great, or let y'all know I was praying for you when you had something weighing on you. I hope you did feel those unknown prayers. I know I do. Even now, while I'm going through so much. I feel the prayers for me. Whether it be from all of you, or people who just read and pray, I feel it. I know the Lord is with me. I know He is watching over me. He proves it to me, every day. Thank you all for being there for me. I would not be able to hold my head up, otherwise.
Margie, it makes me feel so good that you have so many Christians around you. That must feel like such a breath of fresh air, with all that is happening in other places. I know it would feel like that, for me. And that is pretty neat that you see so many "lefties" too. LOL That is a question to ponder....... Is there something to be said or learned about folks who are left handed? I've always known in my heart that left handed people were special. Because it was always said to be rare. So rare that teachers would try to force left handed children to write right-handed and it really caused problems. God made us all unique in His image, and man has no business messing that up.
Cindy, I so much agree that PT is more harmful than it is good. I mean, if someone needed Physical Therapy to get back to walking, after an accident, or a surgery.......ok, I agree to an extent. But, to put someone through PT who is suffering chronic pain, is a HUGE no-no! A very good example is what they did to Ed. He had total hip replacement on his left side, in 2014. He was doing pretty great for about 2 months, then suddenly that old pain started hitting him like a ton of bricks. Only now, it was both hips. His heart could not sustain another surgery, so the right hip was never done. While looking for something else, I read the transcripts, from the surgeon, and it said that Ed had obviously been doing too much too soon. (which was probably true) So, why would they put him through PT, and cause it to be more over worked? The PT guy had Ed lay back on the table, and without warning, pulled his right foot up, with leg bent, over his stomach area. OK, that's pretty near a yoga position!! I hollered out...........OWWWW! He stopped and asked me why I did that. I said "Because I felt that over HERE! You cannot do that to him! He has Avascular Necrosis in his hip joints, and you just injured him further!" Oh I was SO angry. He said, (quite curtly) "Well, chronic pain is mainly caused by babying those muscles, or not moving them at all. Working them, will ease his pain." I told him that maybe that's the insane notion for a 23 year old, but not for a person Ed's age and condition. I told him that Ed isn't a pretzel! (the PT guy was 23, fresh out of college, who seriously needed an education!) I told him that he will not do that again. And I looked over at Ed and he looked like he was about to start crying, he was in so much pain. When Ed sat up, he had a hard time, stepping down to the floor. It wasn't but a couple of days later, that he actually broke his heel on that same leg. And the achilles tendon drew up the broken piece of bone. They had to screw it down, with 3 large screws, to prevent the tendon from pulling it all the way up his leg. I feel now, as I felt then......that the treatment he got in PT contributed to all of this. Ed wasn't doing anything, but stepping out of his shed, when the heel bone snapped and the tendon pulled the broken piece up and almost out of his skin, at the back of his foot. (OK, I'll stop grossing people out, and shut up about it now.....)
Barbara, I read the story about Trump supposedly doing that at the whitehouse, and the site was unfamiliar to me, so I searched around and didn't find anything more about it, except other "fake" sites, quoting verbatim what this site was saying. So, any time anyone wants to know the truth about somehthing, go over to Trump's Facebook page, or his Twitter page and if he talks about it, there, then it is true. If he hasn't mentioned a word about it, then it's most likely fake propaganda. Or, he will refer to the fake stories and debunk them. THIS is the reason why our President utilizes social media. Because there ARE two sides to every story (thank you Mom) and the person who is being raked over the coals, deserves to have his/her side heard. And directly from them, is the best way. Now, with that said. When I watched his ABC interview, he showed the audience and the interviewer the paintings of past famous people that he said he put on the walls. (I think they were Generals and past Presidents) And mentioned that there is SO much available to choose from to decorate the White House, and he chose these paintings for the walls. Now, it might very well be that he had to take down "something" to put things to his taste, but what they were, he didn't say. He was not doing the interview to slam Obama. Quite the contrary. He has said some very undeserving compliments about Obama. (my opinion, they were undeserving.)
And I just went back and scanned some of the posts, here, and Barbara I just noticed that you mentioned "yoga" in your description of what the PT guy was doing to you too! And the best thing for you is to do what is good for YOU. Not what some moron has to do because he read it in a book. And I know what Leonard is going through with the neuropathy pain. I don't have diabetes, but I also have neuropathy pain in my feet. (Namely my toes) I wish I had some really great advice to help him get some relief from it, but I am at a loss. I can't help myself either.
Ruthanne, I think about you almost all the time, now. And I can't wait until I can spot those pictures, you told me about, last night. I hope Steven posts them. I haven't been to FB, yet. I came here first. I look forward to seeing the new pictures of Levi, and the ones you said you were in, with him. If Steven doesn't post them, tell him to send them to you, so I can see them. You know I love pictures. And I had to go back and read your post again, and laughed even harder.......
You can turn your pain, no matter what it is, into something we'd rather laugh at, than what it really is. It's one of the reasons I love you, Ruthanne. Because that's exactly what all of us, here, want. We don't want to have this happening to us, but we also don't want people identifying us with our pain, but with the personality that we are. Did I say that right?
Lorrie, I'm so sorry to hear about what Daniel's friend, Michael, had to go through. My ruptured appendix was because I was too stubborn to get help sooner, but what happened to Michael was just plain incompetence! That so-called doctor needs to find another line of work, because he most certainly fails miserably as a physician. Michael could have died!! I surely hope that your new hospital examines this incident thoroughly and rethinks their employment of that guy. There are just too many "band-aid" hospitals around who get away with killing people, rather than treating them. I am so glad that Michael got the proper help, and pray that the infection, caused by the rupture doesn't cause him more harm. He will need to take it easy for a couple of months, to make sure he is healed. And any more pressure or pain or burning, in the abdomen, needs him back to the hospital asap. It will mean that the infection is not gone.
Lorrie, thank you for the lovely cards you sent to me, recently. I got the one from your ladies group, 2 days ago, and yesterday received your personal one. Thank you. You know how to make me smile, and that was so kind of you. Cindy, I thanked you by private message, for the card you sent to me. But, didn't in open chat, so thank you also for the card. Eddie, I haven't even looked to see if you are here, in FH, but thank you again, for the heartfelt gift. It's one that I treasure and you knew that, and you knew it would warm my heart. It's a picture of a treasured painting, depicting a guardian angel over two children on a bridge. I have one in my living room, but now I have one in my office, where I can see it all the time. You all are such treasured people in my life. Without you, I am alone. Thank you for your prayers for me.
There are probably more posts, that I've missed. I'll check back and quote you, if I have. I should have multi-quoted, but didn't do that. sorry if I've missed you. I didn't mean to.
you're more than welcome Cheryl!
I've also had problems with PT. One time I was sent for it, besides my back problem I also had a frozen shoulder. The doc had told me what exercises to do for it and I was doing them, and it was getting better. He also had told me that when it hurt, I was to stop and that I was to never cause pain when I did the exercises. (LOL he knew me very well and knew I'd push it as far as I could if he didn't put a limit on me) Anyway, the day I went in for PT, the guy literally grabbed my arm and jerked it straight up. I screamed and began sobbing - and I never, ever cry in front of people- no matter what! I kept yelling for him to stop but he wouldn't and I couldn't control my own arm to put it down because of the amount of pain I was in. I finally was able to push him away and make him let go by using my other hand and my feet. He was not at all sorry for what he did, and I wasn't in any mood then to speak to him about it. I just got up and left only telling him that he would never touch me again. The next day, I called the hospital and spoke to the head of the PT department. I'd had PT there several times before for weeks at a time, without any problems, so they knew I wasn't just a troublemaker. I told them what this guy did and gave them his name, and told them I wanted it to go on his record so that he couldn't do that to anyone ever again. I asked them what they would do about it. They said they would put it on his record, would call him in and speak to him about it, and would flag his record as well and that way if anyone ever called in a negative report on him again, he would be fired. I told them that I would not see him again but still needed the PT, so they assigned me to another person who did a great job. Sadly most people don't bother to report things like that and therefore the person who does the damage gets away without getting it put in their permanent record or fired.
I'm glad he's recovering Lorrie and that his father is going to contact the hospital too. I hope he contacts a lawyer as well because he could most assuredly win a lawsuit against that hospital which would pay for all the medical bills. It can't undo the damage done but it can help prevent it from happening again if the hospital is sued because they'll be a lot more careful in the future and of course others will hear about it as well.

Cindy: Thank you so much for the suggestion about the lidoderm cream. I think Leonard may go to the walk in clinic or the ER even sometime today....but first he was going to see if there was any over the counter ....something? And....you just offered an idea!! His foot is also very puffy and one toe looks almost infected, it is bright red but also he has a lot of uncomfortable looking red splotches, scratches etc. diabetes related?
Thank you Cheryl and Cindy for the encouragement.....I tend to let my pride and vanity rule when at a PT session, and so like you Cindy refuse to show pain ( I Know your training in martial arts may have contributed a little to that, as ballet did some for me). This particular PT ( I have seen him once or twice before, the head guy I liked alot retired) says he is a Christian. But, at the same time,
he teaches a pain class, that involves also has 'visualization' etc as part of it. ( imagine you are at the beach or woods, or mts, or a lush valley....listen to the wounds, smells, look at the beauty etc. etc. etc.) I walked out of the class, when we were supposed to quite ourselves and do this visualization. That was the last time I saw Alex.
Now I will be going back to see him at the PT building ( the class was held in the hospital).
I did in fact pray for you Cheryl and I missed you. I am also praying for Ruthanne!! I am so glad you got a good nights sleep Cindy, prayerfully you will get more!

The patches actually work better than the cream does. But if he wants to try the cream first, it's called Aspercream with lidoderm. You'll have to look at all the different aspercreams and find the one that says it has lidoderm in it. For the patches, they are simply called lidoderm patches. They can be gotten over the counter or by prescription, either way now, whichever is better for you. However, if the skin is broken in the areas he's having the pain, he should first check with the doctor or the pharmacist to see if it's ok to use those on broken skin. Yes, that can be related to diabetes, or can be from other things like the RA I have. Thank you for your prayers. I'm keeping you and Leonard in prayer as well. And yes, I slept like a rock again last night and didn't wake up till 8 this morning! Hello everyone.Just popping in to update y'all.I am waiting on a phone call from the surgeons office to get it set up.It must not be an emergency situation as they didn't send me for the surgery right away.So it will be in one or two weeks.I guess my heart has made other by-ways to get enough blood and I have nitro pills to take if it gets real bad.so I just wait.and am not stressing .thank you for the prayers and good wishes as that is probably why I am not stressing.Makes sense to me.Love y'all,Ruthanne No matter what happens you're in the Lord's hands Ruthanne. Sorry,I have only negative thoughts right now maybe later I can talk Love Y'all,Ruthanne That's hard to deal with I know hon. Do you have a family doctor you can go talk to about it? That you can ask him to explain why they aren't treating this like an emergency when it seems like one to you? Perhaps if a doctor explained it, it might make you feel better about the whole thing. Another possibility would be to call that doctor's office back and ask them to put you on a list to call you if anyone cancels their appointment or doesn't show up for their surgery. That might get you in faster. You could also ask them or your regular doctor if there is another cardiologist you could see in your area who might be able to get you in sooner. Just remember, the Lord is in control, not them, and He will guide you to do what's best for you. You're in my prayers....

Leonard did go to the walk in clinic....they sort of did nothing about the neuropathy but... gave him anti-biotics because the toe I mentioned that was swollen and bring red was in fact, infected... I am guessing that combined with the diabetes, needed to be treated first.
As it so happens he goes to same doc as I, and he had an appointment made 3 mts ago, which turns out to be for him to see doc tomorrow..... So no doubt they will talk about neuropathy then.
I am so sorry to hear about the delay for you Ruthanne, but I think Cindy's suggestions were good.
Wow! 2 good nights in a row....yeah Cindy....here's hoping abd praying for 3!

A few days ago I talked to Ron's friend Art and I thought to myself that he sure does look healthy for his age and he looked like he would live another 10 years. Today when Ron and I took our dogs for a walk and got back to our car we saw Art waiting to talk to Ron. He told Ron that the doctor said he had luekemia. He did not look good, his face was puffy, white, and he had a frown on his face. He is not eating food, already skinny, he lost 15 pounds of weight. That sure came upon him fast. His wife Donna and their son Wayne that lives with them, who are Christians, already have plans for when he dies to move from the house as quickly as possible because Donna does not like living so far from a city, and she wants to live close to her daughter. So the quick change in him was a surprise to us.

Wow! 2 good nights in a row....yeah Cindy....here's hoping abd praying for 3! I'm glad he got that taken care of as infections can get out of control fast with diabetes. I hope the doc is able to help him with something for the pain too, or else that he can get the lidoderm, which to me is better than any pill as there are no side effects.
Honestly, I almost always sleep really well now. On April 12th of this year, I will have been sleeping at night again for 2 full years! (that's when I started sleeping sitting up) It's still hard for me to believe how many years I went without much sleep at all, but I sure am enjoying being able to sleep again. It's a tremendous gift from the Lord, and I really cherish it!

I hope you're doing well though. Have there been any changes in the border area that you've seen yet? Probably only in attitude if anything at all....

And yes, I slept like a rock again last night and didn't wake up till 8 this morning! Cindy, I was wondering if y'all were talking about the Aspercreme patches, with lidoderm. My system must have a problem with lidoderm, or something. Because I use Aspercreme (the cream) and when I spotted those patches, one day, I remembered from years ago, that you used lidoderm on your big toe. So, I got a package that had 3 applications in it. I tried it on my lower back, and the instant hot pain was so unbearable I couldn't get the thing off fast enough, and then it was stuck on my skin and I was screaming for Ed to help me get it off. So, later, I tried it again. Just before I had the appendicitis, the stabbing pain in my right rib cage, in the back was so horrible. I tried that patch again, and the same thing happened, and again I couldn't get it off, and Ed had to remove it for me. He told me to throw them away. I only had one left and did what he said to do. It was worth wasting the last one, because that was just awful. So, I MUST have some kinda intolerance to lidoderm. I have NO idea. Leonard did go to the walk in clinic....they sort of did nothing about the neuropathy but... gave him anti-biotics because the toe I mentioned that was swollen and bring red was in fact, infected... I am guessing that combined with the diabetes, needed to be treated first.

Wow! 2 good nights in a row....yeah Cindy....here's hoping abd praying for 3! Barbara, that was my first thought. That Leonard's toe was infected, by how you described it. I'm glad that he was able to have an appointment, so he could have it seen to. Not trying to scare you, but someone I used to know, was a diabetic, got an ingrown toenail. He ignored it and it got gangrene and they aputated his leg up the knee. So, prompt attention to anything regarding Leonard is top priority.

So the quick change in him was a surprise to us. My mother went down fast after her lung cancer diagnosis. I can't help but feel that the Lord was waiting for her to come back to him, then he took her home.
Forgive me, but that wife's plans for a quick departure, after her husband's death, sounds a bit self centered and heartless. It just might be stemming from my recent tragedy, but instead of enjoying her husband during the little bit of time he has left, and giving him the best possible last moments, he knows that bringing her out there away from the city was something that she will be glad to be rid of. I'm sorry, but he is more important that she is, at this point.
I let you know tomorrow what if anything doc suggests for neuropathy....Leonard goes in the afternoon to see him.

My weather has been really weird lately, too. It was too funny, but I spotted a "memory" on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, and there I had written that we had lots of snow and it was so cold, one year ago. The day that I shared it, if my memory serves me correctly was the day it was 70 degrees, and I worked outside with no coat and no shoes. Then one day is nice, the next is cold, the next is nice, and tomorrow is cold again. I turned off my heat today, it got so uncomfortably warm in the house. But, it's back on now. It was getting awful dampish cold in here, and then I remembered that I'd turned the heat off. I'm here!! Just reading though, don't really have time to write a post as my little piano student is coming in a few minutes. Praise report though, Michael got to go home from the hospital yesterday and is finally eating and feeling a little better. Thank You Lord! Oh, I am so glad that Michael went home!! Eating was the first thing I wanted to do. I'd gone 6 days without food, and I was about to bite a nurse if they didn't bring me something that I could actually chew! (and I'm not kidding about that, lol) Until then, they gave me the nastiest tasting beef broth..........well, I think it was supposed to be beef flavored.......it was brown.....so use your imagination. lol and jello. OK, I don't know if anyone remembers this but I absolutely HATE jello. And then some Italian ice. OK, I was hungry........I didn't want to chop at frozen crushed ice, with a plastic spoon. They gave me coffee..........well, I think it was coffee........it was brown........so use your imagination......

I let you know tomorrow what if anything doc suggests for neuropathy....Leonard goes in the afternoon to see him.
Our weather was being better for about a week, in the 50's but now we are having a down turn again.....I am already ready for spring!
I 2nd your comment:
I'll be so glad when this world is over and there won't be any disease anymore! "
I didn't know leukemia worked so fast tho...wow!
I don't see many others posting here yet soooo maybe tomorrow
They often prescribe things like Lyrica. Lyrica (pregabalin) is an anti-epileptic drug, also called an anticonvulsant. It works by slowing down impulses in the brain that cause seizures. Lyrica also affects chemicals in the brain that send pain signals across the nervous system.Lyrica is used to control seizures and to treat fibromyalgia. It is also used to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy), herpes zoster (post-herpetic neuralgia, or neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury. Here's the link so you can check it out if you want to. You might want to check the side effects too by clicking on their link that says to show more of them. www.drugs.com/lyrica.htmlI prefer the patches as I just don't like taking pills at all unless I absolutely have to; partly due to the side effects they all have and my own sensitivity to them; but that's just me, and if it was more than the patches could handle, I'm sure I'd be all about looking for a medication lol. We've actually had quite a warm winter for the most part, with very little snow, which is very unusual for us - especially since we had hardly any snow last year as well. The only other winter we had as little snow as last year and this year (so far) was back when Jenn was only 5 years old, so that's how unusual it is! And the winter after that one, we got clobbered with tons of snow, so that's what we were expecting for this year. Since Bruce's boss gave him the snowmobile last year, Bruce has been dying to use it and really hasn't been able to hardly at all. Last year, he just took the kids around our yard on it, and this year he's only been able to take it out once for a short ride. Needless to say, he and all the others who love to do that, are pretty frustrated. Last year they weren't able to have the ice races either, and it looks like they won't be able to this year as well, as the lakes and ponds simply aren't frozen hard enough for the cars. But that's all due to being in the last days. The weather is bound to be messed up. I just keep telling him that Farmers almanac says we'll get a good snow storm around the 17th or so, and he can hope for that for now. And reminding him that at least the warmer weather means we won't have to spend as much on propane for heat this year. That's always a good thing. (the weather's been mainly in the 30's this winter). I'm here!! Just reading though, don't really have time to write a post as my little piano student is coming in a few minutes. Praise report though, Michael got to go home from the hospital yesterday and is finally eating and feeling a little better. Thank You Lord! Praise God! That's wonderful new Lorrie! Hey, how's your sister doing? I've been meaning to ask you that for the longest time and just kept forgetting to, but I'm still praying for her.The patches actually work better than the cream does.
Yes, you obviously had a bad reaction to it. The same thing happens to me whenever I use anything with capsaicin in it. It even happens when I use BenGay now, and I used to use that all the time. Haven't been able to for years though, so now the only one I can use is Aspercream. I'm guessing it's the menthol in the BenGay causing that reaction in me. Weird.... But the way you described it is exactly what happened to me too with the capsaicin, only I'd put it on my arm and was screaming at Bruce to get it off me as I couldn't get it off fast enough LOL
I'd have to check out the over the counter patches as I've never gotten any that way. Mine have always been prescription and don't have anything in them except for the lidoderm. So I don't know if there's anything else in those over the counter ones, though I wouldn't think so. I know that what I've seen of them on TV is that the look different, (which means nothing lol) as mine have always been large rectangle patches and cover a large area. Because of that, I'd personally rather continue to get them as prescription. But then maybe not all the over the counter ones are that weird shape I saw on TV either... I don't know.
Since you have a problem with lidoderm though, you should be aware that there is a aspercream that has lidoderm in it (as a cream - not a patch), just be careful not to get that one! I've used the regular aspercream for many years, only the tube I always bought said "nighttime aspercream". I loved it because you didn't even have to wash your hands after using it, so was very upset when they stopped selling it. I still had one of the tubes at home so copied all the ingredients off of it in order to find something as close to it as I could, and discovered that there was absolutely nothing different between that kind of aspercream and their regular tube! I was so angry at the way they fooled people and it had to be on purpose too! Here's what the one I used to buy looked like:
and here's their regular one:
The tube inside the box is the same size as the other tube, though it doesn't look it in the picture. I hate it when companies use false advertising, and wouldn't have bought it again if I hadn't needed it so badly. Maybe that's why they stopped selling it? Maybe they got caught....
And no, you should not use it on broken skin.
I did notice though when looking for the pictures, that they also have one that's called aspercream heat, and another like that, which do have other ingredients, so if you used one of those, the reaction could have been to another ingredient. ... I sure do feel for you though, and I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to it....

I started an emergency prayer request for Ruthanne!
Ruthanne needs our prayers please!
She just called me to tell me that she is going to the hospital, asked that I let everyone know to pray for her. She's had to take a second nitroglycerin and the pain is different. It's in her jaw and across her abdomen. She was having her sister in law come and get her, because some lame brain nurse told her she didn't need an ambulance. I told her to hang up with me, right now and call an ambulance! The hospital is an hour away.

Praying for Ruthanne, please let us know when you get a chance as to how she is doing!!
Well so far neither the nurse Leonard saw at the walk in clinic last week, nor when he saw Doc yesterday have addressed the neuropathy. I think Leonard said, it's because of the severe infection it can cause similar pain...so perhaps they are waiting until the infection is cleared up first....they of course know he has diabetes and that there is a good chance he has neuropathy.... So he is too see the nurse again next week to see how the infection is. Oh I forgot to mention when I saw this same doc last week, he was taking a photo to update my files ( I have changed in looks that much for example no longer dye hair so its almost white instead of dark brown and so on)
Anyway, it was taking him awhile to actually take the photo after he did tho, he apologized and said he was trying to get the cross I was wearing in the photo!!
I told him Leonard made it for me and he came over to get a better look....
Then, when he saw Leonard yesterday, he told Leonard he really liked the cross he made me..... ( this from my ok with yoga, mindfulness, visualization doc LOL).
Think he just appreciates jewelry..... or could God be somehow working on him?
Thank you for those photos Cindy if Leonard buys some I will have him look and see the difference!!

I will be sure to update for Ruthanne, just as soon as I know something. Thank you all for praying. She is really frightened. She told me that the nurse said she would be getting emergency surgery, just as soon as she can get to the hospital.
Barbara, if you ever do get any kind of answers, or pain relief remedies about Leonard's neuropathy pain, please let us know. I have tried many things to relieve the pain in my right leg, for years, and nothing touches it. Not even the soap remedy.
That seems very strange that a doctor (and a weird one at that) would be taking a picture of you, for his file. I'm not a very trusting person, anymore, and that raises red flags for me. Especially since he is making sure he takes a picture of your unique jewelry. I hope you are right and the Lord is working on him, but take heed and watch your back. It just seems very strange. The veteran's administration is the only "doctor type place" that took a picture of Ed, and that was for his I.D. badge.

Oh thank you so much for watching my back Cheryl....well he been my PCP for over 13 or 14 years. And Cindy and I have had some interesting chats about him. I think he means well and in some ways is a very diligent caring doc but his grandfather was a psychiatrist for starts which may be why he is willing to be ok with the zen mindfulness for pain ( its not just him, believe me, middle eastern med stuff is invading tradition medicine in a big way it seems!!
There is a new guy at our hospital that only treats pain with mindfulness, but my doc knows I am not interested, but I think he doesn't understand why because he has been convinced it works by this new "doc".
Anyway, my new photo is already in my personal online ( arrgghh I just forgot its name momentarily) where you can get messages, read your test results, etc etc.
Over the years he and I have had some brief chats about Christianity ( his daughter it turns out is a strong Christian...she is in college to be a surgeon).
But also over the years I had turned down his suggestions to deal with pain via yoga, visualization ( taught in a pain class I had to attend), and mindfulness because of my Christian beliefs....so he prob thought I would actually like my cross in the files.
( its a very small town hospital.....)
we are a pop. of about 5,000-7,000 permanent residents ( in the summer we are a LOT bigger, double or triple with people at hotels etc.)
But I thank you for thinking of me. And WOW I wondered if they were going to do emergency surgery on Ruthanne....maybe that's a good thing?

Yes, Ruthanne will be getting the surgery, for sure, but it will take a couple of days, because they have to do tests. But, I updated her emergency prayer request, so I won't repeat everything here. I've been beside myself with worry. Pacing around the house, waiting for word.
I'm glad you know this doctor, so well. OK, I'm just a worry wart about everyone. That aspect about me has never changed. lol

Awwww thank you!!
So she will stay in the hospital tho right? I will also go look at what you posted in the prayer section so you don't have to repeat yourself. First I prayed, and then, when Leonard came home he and I prayed for the surgeon for her peace etc etc.

It was nice to see the sunshine this morning. I went outside early to put some water and birdseed out for the birds, since they are early risers.lol If I don't get that outside fast enough the birds will be sitting on the garage roof and looking at my living room window. Well I did my shopping yesterday, it was crowded in the stores, with long wait lines, I was tired by the time I had to drive home and was driving below the speed limit. I got home and played some music on the radio and took a nap. I bought apples and I have a juicer, so today I will make some home made apple vinegar. I got some cloth material to make a wind sock, so I will be sewing one of those together, they only last about a year before I need to make a new one, so that will show us the direction the wind is blowing. I bought a dog food pan to put water in for the birds so they can take a bath also. The other night before going to sleep I looked out the window at the stars and I saw a falling star. So I am off to start my work for the day, good day ladies.

Already been praying and will continue too. I'm glad you got her to call the ambulance. I can't believe a nurse said that to her or to anyone. I hope someone reports her so it's brought to her attention and she doesn't make the same mistake again.Hi, I am getting ready to go shopping but saw the prayer request for Ruthanne. It's possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath lol.I will be sure to update for Ruthanne, just as soon as I know something. Thank you all for praying. She is really frightened. Many doctor's offices are doing that now that things have changed over to computers. In fact, some started doing it before the change over. It's at least partly to prevent others from claiming they're you and using your insurance (if you have any) to see a doctor. What I thought was even more strange was when I had to go to Massachusetts to see a specialist there. I swear to God that it made me feel like I was in a police state! They not only did the picture routine, but the office portion, where you went up to check in or check out was not just behind glass, but was behind locked doors and bullet proof glass, with a speaker so you could hear each other. There were very obvious cameras all around the waiting room and in the office area looking out so you knew you were being recorded no matter where you went. To get in to actually see the doctor, they had to unlock the door to let you into the exam rooms and of course locked it back up as soon as you entered. Then they had to unlock it to let you out. So once you were in there, you couldn't have gotten out if you wanted to without them allowing it! It was so spooky! They had me show two forms of ID when I came for the appointment too, before they'd believe I was me. I asked why in the world they did all that, and the woman looked like I was the one who was nuts and said that was how most offices worked now and it was to prevent the homeless or criminals from pretending they're you and using your insurance. All that for just that???? That's more than what they'd do in a prison or at least like a prison! It shows why I really don't like Massachusetts. They have so many laws it really is like living in a police state, at least to me anyway. And this is where Obama got his idea and plan for Obamacare!Awwww thank you!!
So she will stay in the hospital tho right? I will also go look at what you posted in the prayer section so you don't have to repeat yourself. First I prayed, and then, when Leonard came home he and I prayed for the surgeon for her peace etc etc. yes, if you read the prayer request Cheryl wrote, it says she's staying in the hospital till they do the surgery....It was nice to see the sunshine this morning. I went outside early to put some water and birdseed out for the birds, since they are early risers.lol If I don't get that outside fast enough the birds will be sitting on the garage roof and looking at my living room window. So I am off to start my work for the day, good day ladies. Speaking of your birds reminded me of one of our little baby red squirrels and what happened to him the other day. He got into the bird feeder like all the babies do each year, and was having a great time eating. But when he went to get out, he couldn't! He tried and tried and tried and just couldn't quite make it out because he was so tiny. I watched him for a bit and really thought I was going to have to go out and rescue him. (we've had to do that once before last year for the same reason) But I'd just gotten up and was still in a lot of pain and not able to move well yet. I knew he was perfectly safe and couldn't hurt himself, and also know it's much better for them if we don't interfere with them, so I decided to wait until my pills had kicked in: about another 45 minutes, and then help him out if he was still inside. But he managed to get out without my help after another 5 minutes or so, which was best for him anyway. I talk to them all the time so told him to stay outside of it for a few days till he was a little bigger lol. He did, but he still won't go in it. I guess he doesn't realize that he's big enough to get out now LOL. He sure is a cutie though!

Cindy LOLOL I do have a 'unique' way with words that sometimes confuse eh? I was referring to the images ( I called them 'photos' of the Aspercream with Lidoderm that you posted.....I was saying thank you for posting them and when and if Leonard goes to buy some I will show him the 'photos....image of the kind you buy.
Cheryl: I am thinking maybe you will here from Ruthanne later today?
Oh yeah our little hospital has had photos to go with our files for years, but like I said, I didn't ask but I am almost certain he updated it because I look very different than the one they had on file starting with white hair now instead of dyed dark brown.
We have a lot of Mexicans here both legal citizens, but also a lot that work in the hotels and motels that are undocumented....I worked front desk one summer ( my friend and neighbor at the time had been there 13 years and was the manager).
I can't remember the reason but several housekeeping Mexicans ( not legal) were in the office, and she was asking things like:
which ( I think it was ) social security card do you want to use this year......this number or that, or this one??
They all had more than 2 ID's etc. I have no idea where they got them. They were very nice people, but they seemingly had approx 3 or more whatever she was asking them for..... s.s. numbers?
So yeah maybe the hospital had problems with insurance and so just starting taking photos of everyone, to be sure you are who you say you are.
Actually, tho this hospital ( well the whole Providence system) is extremely generous in giving financial aid to anyone ( it is a Catholic run hospital...tho of course not every doctor is in fact Catholic....)
but they seem to be extremely helpful to the financially needy!!!
which is a very good thing for us.....we got the bill ( which Providence picked up and cancelled what medicare did not pay for colonoscopy......)
which was $15,000 plus a few hundred dollars.....and hubby has to go back and do it again in a few weeks!!!
So we had no cost. So I am ok with a photo LOL

Our weather is much colder. I stocked up on books to get through Super Bowl weekend. No, I don't care about football. Sounds un-American, huh? LOL
I'm reading Lynn Austin novels. "Among the Gods," which is the last book in one series. And "A Woman's Place," which is a stand-alone novel. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Hugs!

Dogstaff oh yes very unamerican LOL OH! That's right, I am not big on football either,I 'tried' once years ago to get into it.... But all I could see was a bunch of men playing with a ball running back and forth....I don't know, it just seemed kind of boring.... a good book suits me as better any day.
Hummmm come to think of it, don't most games men play have to do with a ball? Basketball....except there you run around inside and have a smaller net goal thingy
and soccer
and golf ( only an even smaller hole-goal, but in the ground)
and tennis ( ball in the air)
and doesn't polo have something to do with a ball, except with horses?
hockey
lacrosse
volleyball
maybe it all started with dodge ball LOL
course there is bowling
Strange fixation with running to and fro chasing a ball, I think!
Gee, I should have taken out stock in balls if I ever had any money.... must be big business providing for all these sports (and even some I didn't list).
Nah I miss that game too LOL

LOL, I used to LOVE playing basketball, tennis, volleyball and went bowling a LOT in my youth. But, I can't do any of that now. I was even invited to play on the varsity volleyball team, in my Junior year. That would have been a first for anyone, because the rules were that you had to first be junior varsity, before you could be in varsity. So that was an honor. But, my mom wouldn't let me. She needed me at home for the 3 little ones, so I wasn't allowed to join sports. But, I know what you mean, LOL. Men like to chase balls around. LOL, that sounded a bit racy, lol! OH well..........it is what it is.
Margie, the weather has turned cold, again, here. This afternoon is not as bad as yesterday, but this morning was still cold. I'll be glad when it has passed.
I don't like watching sports either, and I was blessed to have a husband who liked it even less.

So I am off to start my work for the day, good day ladies. Anna, I loved reading about your birds. Yes, they do tend to get a little expectant, but isn't that so much fun? And they really don't ever give up on you. If they leave to forage elsewhere, they'll be back just as soon as you have something for them. I do put some seed out, but I'm putting out peanut butter suet for them, for winter. The fat content helps them to stay warm. And I put a clean rag, inside the bluebird box, to plug the drain holes for warmth, so they have somewhere to be out of the cold wind. They use it too, I'm pleased to report. I really don't care for the grocery store, or anywhere that is packed with people. If it wasn't so far away, I'd just as soon go in the middle of the night when there aren't very many customers. That's neat that you make a windsock. Ed made a wooden airplane that spins on a post, in the direction of the wind, and the propeller twirls. It's a pleasant sound to me now.

Cheryl: Maybe I got hit alot playing dodge ball as a kid, soooo I was more into ballet, swimming, walking and the like.....but Wow! that was pretty cool about being asked to play varsity volleyball!!
Our granddaughter has been into volleyball for years, and our little Sea village actually hosts one of the biggest volley ball tournaments each year.
Gee my birds ( all manner of them) try to wake me up at the crack of dawn for me to jump up and serve them breakfast......which I try to do if I can, but sometimes they have to wait!
And most of the crows call in the general population crow caw caw, but one little younger guy calls me in the more personal family chirps, trills, etc.
I think he actually is trying to teach me crow speak. One day hubby, daughter, a neighbor etc. and I were all outside talking.
But apparently it was my lesson time and he would run thru various sounds and I would try to imitate and repeat. He then determined to have me just work on one sound at a time....sooooo we did that a few times and while we all were looking at him:
I said: Did I say it right this time??
and he did a very sharp downward nod, and truly it 'sounded' like yes!!!!
Everybody laughed.. and he thought it was grand too! LOL
Any word about Ruthanne today yet? Or is that in the prayer thread?

I loved your bird story too, Barbara. To me, birds are a graceful gift from God. I could be having the worst day, but look outside and see the birds, and my anxiety melts away.
Ed would have the phone outside, with him, in case he needed me. And he'd page me and tell me that the hummingbirds are giving him a hard time, and I need to come out and fill the feeders. They'd get right up to his face and hover there, and then if he didn't move and get it done (which he couldn't, because he was wheelchair bound), they would start diving at his head. Temperamental little tweeters. Ed loved the attention, though. LOL
Yes, I updated Ruthanne's prayer thread. I spoke with her today. I'm sorry, I thought I came in here and let ya'll know to check it, and must have forgotten. My memory isn't me, right now. Nothing is working.......actually.
