One won't even eat ( until I go in) because it loves to hear me tell it how pretty and cute and adorable etc. etc. it is...... it just laps up the praise ( rather than food).... vanity first LOL You did have to go and remind me.....grrrrr I haven't changed their food sigh! Yes, I saw your post about Ruthanne in the prayer forum, thank you....so glad she got her coffee :-)

again this morning....I would say California has gotten it's fair share of rain this winter! it's like the winters of old, I like the rain, but one thing, can't walk boy in it...most the time though there is a brake in the rain drops and we get to walk then.... thinking and praying for Ruthanne this morning, wicked glad she's getting that surgery done. She's gonna feel great after the healing process. it's been a wicked good weekend, save for Kennedy's funeral on Saturday, it was good, but sad.... Jazzy read for me and she's doing better, not quite where she should be, but much better. we are reading a wicked good story, one she LIKES to read!

California has been in a drought for so long. I just hope that the people are safe from the mudslides and the flooding.
Yes, I'm glad she is getting the surgery done, too. I was so worried about her, when they'd sent her home. I updated her prayer thread with what I know, so far.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Lulu. I'm still trying to muddle through each day, with mine.
Jazzy is so lucky to have you and Ron! Which story is the one she likes to read?
Just coming in to let you all know that God willing I'll be back tomorrow, but today I have to recuperate from yesterday. My body is really screaming at me so that I just can't stay and post. Sorry guys... Boy, I hit reply before I finished posting! Cindy, I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

Hi it has been nice weather here, so warm for the month of February. The other night we went for a drive at sunset, a slow drive down a dirt road for about a mile, because I like to do that and look at the sunset and the dogs like to ride also. Well there was a bag full of used stuff on my fence. That means that Art's family put that there. If they would ask me if I wanted the junk, I would have said no. It bothers me when people drop off used stuff for me that I don't want, because my mother used to do that and I did not want to hurt her feelings, but I didn't like it. It brings up some bad memories for me. I already took the old tv antenna that was left here about a month ago, to the dump. In the bag was a book that looked like it was left out in the rain and many old vegetables. It was the day after the free food was passed out at a church and I think I got a few peoples vegetables from that, not even wild animals would eat those messed up vegetable. I don't even know what the vegetable is, it kinda looks like zucchini. One time I cooked one of the vegetables and tasted it and it tasted like motor oil. I threw them all away and it looks to me like others have done the same thing. When I have something I don't want I don't try to drop it off on another person, in the dark of night and run away, I just throw it away. Oh well i just have to throw away what others drop off. It is a good thing I have a fenced yard or I might be getting more than a bag left for me. Well if it continues to be just one bag of junk once in awhile, I am OK with just throwing it away. They are Ron's friends, not my friends, so I don't talk to them often and I try to just get along and be nice.

Well, if you ever do talk to them, try to work in this phrase: "One man's trash isn't always another man's treasure".
I know that most of my friends call it being nice to not say something. So, then I guess I'm not nice. I do say something. I would actually put a "No Dumping" sign on my fence.

Cindy LOLOL I do have a 'unique' way with words that sometimes confuse eh? I was referring to the images ( I called them 'photos' of the Aspercream with Lidoderm that you posted.....I was saying thank you for posting them and when and if Leonard goes to buy some I will show him the 'photos....image of the kind you buy.
Cheryl: I am thinking maybe you will here from Ruthanne later today?
Oh yeah our little hospital has had photos to go with our files for years, but like I said, I didn't ask but I am almost certain he updated it because I look very different than the one they had on file starting with white hair now instead of dyed dark brown.
We have a lot of Mexicans here both legal citizens, but also a lot that work in the hotels and motels that are undocumented....I worked front desk one summer ( my friend and neighbor at the time had been there 13 years and was the manager).
I can't remember the reason but several housekeeping Mexicans ( not legal) were in the office, and she was asking things like:
which ( I think it was ) social security card do you want to use this year......this number or that, or this one??
They all had more than 2 ID's etc. I have no idea where they got them. They were very nice people, but they seemingly had approx 3 or more whatever she was asking them for..... s.s. numbers?
So yeah maybe the hospital had problems with insurance and so just starting taking photos of everyone, to be sure you are who you say you are.
Actually, tho this hospital ( well the whole Providence system) is extremely generous in giving financial aid to anyone ( it is a Catholic run hospital...tho of course not every doctor is in fact Catholic....)
but they seem to be extremely helpful to the financially needy!!!
which is a very good thing for us.....we got the bill ( which Providence picked up and cancelled what medicare did not pay for colonoscopy......)
which was $15,000 plus a few hundred dollars.....and hubby has to go back and do it again in a few weeks!!!
So we had no cost. So I am ok with a photo LOL
Oh, ok, I understand now. The reason i didn't before is because I thought you were talking about something I posted or sent specifically to you, and not something in general on the board lol. Sorry about that. That's great that you're able to get financial aid from the hospital. They've helped us a lot too at our hospital. Our weather is much colder. I stocked up on books to get through Super Bowl weekend. No, I don't care about football. Sounds un-American, huh? LOL I'm reading Lynn Austin novels. "Among the Gods," which is the last book in one series. And "A Woman's Place," which is a stand-alone novel. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Hugs! I don't care about football or really any sports much. Bruce loves racing and I did get into it for awhile, but now that my favorite driver isn't driving anymore, it doesn't do anything for me lol - and even when he was driving it wasn't something that it would bother me if I didn't see it....
I love Lynn Austin's books!Dogstaff oh yes very unamerican LOL OH! That's right, I am not big on football either,I 'tried' once years ago to get into it.... But all I could see was a bunch of men playing with a ball running back and forth....I don't know, it just seemed kind of boring.... a good book suits me as better any day.
Hummmm come to think of it, don't most games men play have to do with a ball? Basketball....except there you run around inside and have a smaller net goal thingy
and soccer
and golf ( only an even smaller hole-goal, but in the ground)
and tennis ( ball in the air)
and doesn't polo have something to do with a ball, except with horses?
hockey
lacrosse
volleyball
maybe it all started with dodge ball LOL
course there is bowling
Strange fixation with running to and fro chasing a ball, I think!
Gee, I should have taken out stock in balls if I ever had any money.... must be big business providing for all these sports (and even some I didn't list).
Nah I miss that game too LOL
LOL, I used to LOVE playing basketball, tennis, volleyball and went bowling a LOT in my youth. But, I can't do any of that now. I was even invited to play on the varsity volleyball team, in my Junior year. That would have been a first for anyone, because the rules were that you had to first be junior varsity, before you could be in varsity. So that was an honor. But, my mom wouldn't let me. She needed me at home for the 3 little ones, so I wasn't allowed to join sports. But, I know what you mean, LOL. Men like to chase balls around. LOL, that sounded a bit racy, lol! OH well..........it is what it is.
Margie, the weather has turned cold, again, here. This afternoon is not as bad as yesterday, but this morning was still cold. I'll be glad when it has passed.
I don't like watching sports either, and I was blessed to have a husband who liked it even less.
The only "sports" I really loved as a kid were swimming, water skiing, and downhill skiing. I could do any of those 24/7 and still want to keep going. In fact, my dad's nickname for me was "ever ready" because I was always ready to do any one of those things! That's neat that you got invited to be on the varsity volleyball team!Cheryl: Maybe I got hit alot playing dodge ball as a kid, soooo I was more into ballet, swimming, walking and the like.....but Wow! that was pretty cool about being asked to play varsity volleyball!!
Our granddaughter has been into volleyball for years, and our little Sea village actually hosts one of the biggest volley ball tournaments each year.
Gee my birds ( all manner of them) try to wake me up at the crack of dawn for me to jump up and serve them breakfast......which I try to do if I can, but sometimes they have to wait!
And most of the crows call in the general population crow caw caw, but one little younger guy calls me in the more personal family chirps, trills, etc.
I think he actually is trying to teach me crow speak. One day hubby, daughter, a neighbor etc. and I were all outside talking.
But apparently it was my lesson time and he would run thru various sounds and I would try to imitate and repeat. He then determined to have me just work on one sound at a time....sooooo we did that a few times and while we all were looking at him:
I said: Did I say it right this time??
and he did a very sharp downward nod, and truly it 'sounded' like yes!!!!
Everybody laughed.. and he thought it was grand too! LOL
Any word about Ruthanne today yet? Or is that in the prayer thread? That's such a great story about how the birds were trying to teach you to talk to them LOL. I talk to mine all the time too, as well as to all the critters in the yard. Everyone thinks I'm nuts till they see them respond to me I loved your bird story too, Barbara. To me, birds are a graceful gift from God. I could be having the worst day, but look outside and see the birds, and my anxiety melts away.
Ed would have the phone outside, with him, in case he needed me. And he'd page me and tell me that the hummingbirds are giving him a hard time, and I need to come out and fill the feeders. They'd get right up to his face and hover there, and then if he didn't move and get it done (which he couldn't, because he was wheelchair bound), they would start diving at his head. Temperamental little tweeters. Ed loved the attention, though. LOL
Yes, I updated Ruthanne's prayer thread. I spoke with her today. I'm sorry, I thought I came in here and let ya'll know to check it, and must have forgotten. My memory isn't me, right now. Nothing is working.......actually.
Yeah, they sure are...I've had a few run in's with hummingbirds too LOLCheryl: Temperamental little tweeters indeed, and picky, bossy, bullies, but ohhhhhh sooooo cute. Oh and did I mention vain? One won't even eat ( until I go in) because it loves to hear me tell it how pretty and cute and adorable etc. etc. it is...... it just laps up the praise ( rather than food).... vanity first LOL You did have to go and remind me.....grrrrr I haven't changed their food sigh! Yes, I saw your post about Ruthanne in the prayer forum, thank you....so glad she got her coffee :-) I think all the critters and birds love to hear how beautiful they are...even our cats love that! That's great!again this morning....I would say California has gotten it's fair share of rain this winter! it's like the winters of old, I like the rain, but one thing, can't walk boy in it...most the time though there is a brake in the rain drops and we get to walk then.... thinking and praying for Ruthanne this morning, wicked glad she's getting that surgery done. I will be praying for you....don't push yourself, if you don't make it tomorrow even, we will manage :-) Just take care, but of course we will miss you. May the Lord comfort you. Thanks Barbara. I'm better today, thank the Lord. Boy, Sunday was a really difficult day for me though. We left the house just before 11 to go to the ice races. Bruce has been going for years, in fact, in his younger days, he used to race too, so he knows all the guys and their cars. He's taken Elijah with him the last couple of years, except last year because they never got to race due to not enough ice. He really wanted to show me what it was all about and of course hoped I'd like it so we could enjoy it together, which is why I went. I really didn't care if I liked it or not, I'd enjoy just being with him anyway. Jenn and Bob were going to join us with Elijah and Grace, after church, which they did. And they all climbed into our car to eat LOL. I didn't think the car would hold all of us, plus all our junk, but it did! I'd made a bunch of sandwiches - all different kinds - and brought all kinds of chips and snacks as well as juice, and Jenn had brought a bunch of water, so everyone had plenty to eat and drink. Bruce brought a bunch of extra hats and gloves for the kids, which was a good thing since Jenn had forgotten hers! Elijah and Grace played outside in front of the cars for the most part, while the rest of us huddled in the car trying to stay warm.
The races are held on a large pond. The plow the ice to make a half mile track for the cars to race on. All the racing cars, their trucks and trailers etc. park on the ice in one area where the pits are. Then all along the front of the track cars can park on the ice to watch the race. Other cars can park on the shore, which actually gives you a a better view of the race as you can see more because you're up a little higher then those on the ice. So that's where we parked. As soon as the kids arrived, we offered them lunch since they'd just gotten out of church. Jenn and Bob ate but the kids wanted to go down to the pits and see the cars and drivers. They grabbed Bruce and he took them down there. Jenn asked me what they were going to do because she thought kids weren't allowed in the pits. I told her she was right, they aren't allowed in there, but since Bruce knows all the drivers and has known them all his life, as long as the kids are with him, they can go anywhere they want to They stayed down there for at least an hour, and when they got back, Gracie was telling everyone how Elijah would point to the race cars as they passed them and say, "I got to sit in that one, and that one and that one ....", or "that one's new." Gracie will get her turn though, but couldn't that day as they were still racing.
Anyway, we left at 3:30, about a half hour before it was over as I had to go to the bathroom and there was no way I was using a port a potty! All I did all those hours was mostly sit in the car. I only got out a couple of times and then only for a few minutes. Inside the car, I did twist a lot I guess, when talking to those in the back, but I tried to do it in such a way that it wouldn't hurt me. Other than having to go to the bathroom, i felt ok at that point. My back was a little sore and I was cold, but that's about it. The minute we got home, (It was about a 30 minute drive home) I headed straight for the bathroom. My stomach hurt really badly, but I thought it was because I had to go so badly. Apparently not though as it still hurt afterward. So I pulled off my clothes and put my pj's on, and a bar of soap in my undies to stop the tummy pain, and fell into my recliner. All of that probably took me 15 minutes, but by the time I sat down in the recliner, my whole body began screaming at me. My eyes were first to yell, and I couldn't believe how badly they hurt, and that they hadn't started hurting until I got inside again. Very weird! Next my back upped the pain by a bunch, the neruopathy in my feet kicked in, and all the joints in my body decided to join in the party - and I didn't even know I'd been invited to one!
Needless to say, I took my meds, and then got my next surprise, I fell asleep within minutes! Since I was in my recliner though, it hurts my neck when I fall asleep, so I'd wake up every ten minutes and move my head to where it was comfortable again, and I'd be back to sleep before I could do anything else. That went on for about an hour before I was finally able to make myself stay awake. After that, I basically just sat there waiting for it to be late enough for me to go to bed, which I did as soon as possible. I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. When I woke up yesterday though, all pain that hit me when we got home was still with me, but not quite as bad thankfully. Taking it easy yesterday did the trick though, so I'm much better today.
Sadly, it's shown me that I really can't do things like that anymore. I was hoping that I'd be able to join Bruce for the races so we could be together... I know he would like that, but I'm not sure I can handle the pain again. I'll just have to pray about it and see what the Lord says I guess. Maybe He can come up with something else that we could do together that wouldn't cause me quite so much pain....
Thanks Cheryl, I explained what happened in my reply to Barbara...Hi it has been nice weather here, so warm for the month of February. The other night we went for a drive at sunset, a slow drive down a dirt road for about a mile, because I like to do that and look at the sunset and the dogs like to ride also. They are Ron's friends, not my friends, so I don't talk to them often and I try to just get along and be nice. That's so sad....I've seen the same thing here about food that's given to people from food banks being bad, I mean. How they can give people food like that, just blows my mind. Besides "bad food" they also seem to give away food that no one else would eat or that you have to have something else to use it with and most folks who can't afford food, wouldn't have what it needs. I've seen them put stuff like that stuff that you put on ice cream and it hardens. If it's chocolate, after it hardens you then have a hard chocolate shell on your ice cream. Neat, but not something you give to the homeless or those who need food from a food bank because they're not going to have any ice cream in their freezer. So the only way it would make sense would be if they also gave them the ice cream to go with it, but of course they don't do that. (that's just one example of many of the products I've seen them give the poor that needed another ingredient that the poor weren't likely to have) I've also noticed that they give away food that's past it's expiration date too. I don't think they ever did that before, but they sure do now. When Bruce had the heart attack we got a food box like that and I wound up throwing half the stuff away! it was ridiculous! We kept some crackers that were in it and tried one thinking they'd be good, but they were so old and stale they tasted like cardboard! We threw them away too.
That's strange how they don't bother to ask you first and leave it outside at night... I've never heard of folks doing that before. it's nice of you to just accept it though.... I'm not sure I could keep quiet about it lol

Our food bank ( they moved and got a much bigger place, even the old one had freezers etc., but the photos of the place looks very very nice, like a grocery store really)
We have not gone for a couple of years but they always had ( well almost always) very very good food. Farmers around here donated fresh food, veggies, fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs etc etc., health food co-ops, bakery, grocery store all donated mostly nice food, and of course people donated, but also they get funded and buy food also.
Wow! Cindy, I imagine the cold, sitting, twisting, etc. sure didn't help your pain level! I wonder if the snow hurt your eyes too, the glare off of it for a long time?
I am glad you are feeling better. If you ever went again.... maybe sunglasses LOL a heating pad or those hand warmer things, a nice comfy blanket, pillow, pain meds, cup of coffee, and stay a shorter time?

Cindy, Barbara mentioned sunglasses. Do you wear sunglasses? And if you do, are they the kind that will fit over your eyeglasses? The reason I ask is because I have 2 pairs. One pair is much larger that the older pair. I bought the 1 pair when I had smaller glasses. And then several years later, I got a new pair of glasses, never thinking about the sunglasses, and they don't fit over my new glasses. So, I'd have to wear my old glasses when I needed sunglasses. I did finally get a larger pair of sunglasses and have no need for the old ones. They're yours if you want them. They are the kind that provide UV protection, (polarized) and have protection on the sides as well. The type that cataract patients wear, after surgery.

Hi, I hope everyone is staying warm and comfortable. I am always hearing about tornado's, yesterday there were tornado's near the New Orleans LA area. I never used to hear about tornado's in the winter time. That is probably why my car insurance payment increased by 100 dollars a year.
I was at scrolling Christian chat yesterday, which scrolls by about as fast as I can read it. I commented on there that I was concerned that I think I am feeling the effects of the Fukushima radiation that has contaminated the the Pacific ocean and it is getting worse. The effects of the contamination from the jet stream are getting into the soil where plants are grown. A woman named Connie said, " pray the blood of Jesus for protection." Can you comment on praying the blood of Jesus. That is new to me. Is it the same as just a prayer for protection or is it a better way to pray for protection?

rained off and on yesterday and during the nite. it's misting out there now...we are getting our wet winter for sure, and the snow pack is huge this year, so that means water reserves for the summer! Cheryl the book we are reading is *scared to death* by Jahnna N. Malcolm. It's scary but funny also. she is really enjoying it and best of all she is comprehending what she is reading! I keep you in pray all the time Cheryl.... welp, I gotta get out the door... to you all!

If you ever went again.... maybe sunglasses LOL a heating pad or those hand warmer things, a nice comfy blanket, pillow, pain meds, cup of coffee, and stay a shorter time? I'm afraid that none of those things would really help. The car was actually nice and warm for the most part, and the only time I got at all cold was the few minutes I stood outside. As far as my eyes go, it wasn't the glare, that caused the pain, but simply the air itself, not the temp or anything else, although any wind at all makes it worse. (but I was in the car 99% of the time) It's because of the Sjögren's though. Maybe if I had some goggles it might help my eyes. Bruce and I had already talked about that even before this trip. Just being in the car hurts my eyes if any window is down at all. Maybe it was just a flare up and it was just a coincidence....but I kind of doubt it. We'll see though. Cindy, Barbara mentioned sunglasses. Do you wear sunglasses? And if you do, are they the kind that will fit over your eyeglasses? The reason I ask is because I have 2 pairs. Thanks Cheryl, I appreciate it, but we have lots of different sun glasses that I could wear if I wanted to. I may try it out, but I really don't think they'll help. (but I'll probably try it just so we'll know for sure one way or the other.) Hi, I hope everyone is staying warm and comfortable. I'll copy my post from another forum for you:
Is pleading the blood of Jesus biblical?
“Pleading the blood of Jesus” in prayer is a teaching that can be traced to some of the early leaders of the Word of Faith movement. When people speak of “pleading the blood of Jesus in prayer” they are referring to the practice of “claiming” the power of Christ over any and every problem by using the phrase “I plead the blood of Jesus over _______.”
“Pleading the blood of Jesus” has no basis whatsoever in Scripture. No one in the Bible ever “pleads the blood” of Christ. Those who “plead the blood” do so as if there was something magical in those words or as if by using them their prayer is somehow more powerful. This teaching is born from the misguided and heretical view of prayer that prayer is really nothing more than a way of manipulating God to get what we want rather than praying for His will to be done. The whole Word of Faith movement is founded on the false teaching that faith is a force and if we pray with enough faith, then God guarantees us health, wealth, and happiness and will deliver us from every problem and every situation. In this view, God is simply a way to get what we want instead of being the holy, sovereign, perfect and righteous Creator that the Bible reveals Him to be.
Those who teach this Word-Faith falsehood have an exalted view of man and our “rights” to plead what we want and get God to respond the way we want. This is in opposition to true biblical faith exemplified by Paul’s life and his approach to suffering and trials. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy that “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12). But Word of Faith teaches that if we suffer or are sick or struggle with sin, it is because we do not have enough faith or that we are not pleading the blood of Jesus to claim what is rightfully ours. But we do not see Paul pleading the blood of Christ or claiming what is “rightfully his” when he was faced with trials and persecution. Instead we see his unwavering faith in Christ no matter what the situation: “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that day” (2 Timothy 2:12).
Paul had “learned in whatever state I am in to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:11-13). Paul’s faith was in Christ alone, and he could say with conviction “the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever, Amen!” (2 Timothy 4:18).
“Pleading the blood” as it is commonly practiced has more in common with mysticism—reciting a magical formula and hoping it works—than it does with biblical prayer. Saying certain words does not make our prayers magically more powerful. Furthermore, “pleading the blood” of Christ is not needed to defeat Satan. He has already been defeated, and if we are truly born-again, Satan has no power over us other than what God allows for His purpose and glory. Colossians 1:13 makes this perfectly clear: “For He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son in whom we have redemption through His blood, the remission of sins.”
Rather than “pleading the blood” of Christ for protection or power, Christians should obey the command in James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Rather than practicing an unbiblical model of prayer, we are to follow the simple precepts of Scripture—leading a pure life before God, taking captive all our thoughts to avoid giving sin a place, confessing our sins when we fail those first two precepts and putting on the full armor of God as outlined in Ephesians 6:13-17.
The Bible gives us numerous instructions in victorious living in Christ, and pleading “the blood of Jesus” is not one of them. We have been cleansed by the blood of Christ and He is our High Priest and mediator who “always lives to make intercession” for us (Hebrews 7:25). As His sheep we are already under His protection, we simply need to live day by day trusting in Him for what He has already promised and provided.
I've personally heard many people "plead the blood of Jesus" for many different kinds of things... everything from trying to make themselves or someone else who's sick, well, to getting rid of any demonic influence they think is present somewhere, to making someone behave in a more acceptable manner, to preventing a divorce, etc. They literally use it just like this article said, like a magical incantation that's going to make everything right. It's really sad to think that they know their bible and the Lord so little that they would think something like that would work, or even consider trying it. The blood of Jesus cleansed us from sin when we were saved. To say we need to be cleansed from it again is against what the bible teaches. Jesus Himself told the disciples, “You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.” (John 15:3) He next commands them to "remain in Him". When we study the bible, we see no one using words like that to get out of being sick or get away from any kind of trial or suffering. Instead we see them remaining firm in their faith in God and the knowledge that He will walk through that trial or suffering with them. No where does He promise us that our life will be a bed of roses if we follow Him. Instead He tells us the opposite. So the bottom line is that pleading the blood is not scriptural just as the article says.
rained off and on yesterday and during the nite. it's misting out there now...we are getting our wet winter for sure, and the snow pack is huge this year, so that means water reserves for the summer! Cheryl the book we are reading is *scared to death* by Jahnna N. Malcolm. It's scary but funny also. she is really enjoying it and best of all she is comprehending what she is reading! I keep you in pray all the time Cheryl.... welp, I gotta get out the door... to you all! That's so important and so wonderful that you're giving her the gift of reading Lulu!
How's Ron doing? Any luck yet? I'm still praying....

Cindy, isn't today your birthday? Do I have the wrong date on my calendar? Well, Happy Birthday anyway!!
Just got back from grandson's wrestling tournament. We left this morning at 8 to drive to the school where it was held in far north Fort Worth. I am so tired. Grandson lost his matches - too bad. We went to his sister's soccer game last night. I'm so glad the weather is warmer so I didn't get cold last night.
Hugs to all.

OK, well, I thought I'd offer, since they are just sitting here not being used. I'm sure I'll eventually find someone who needs them, and can't afford to buy them.

This is what it finally looks like here, Winter has arrived! Bruce is so excited he can hardly stand it LOL and so are all the guys where he works. (they all have snowmobiles and are dying to use them!) Of course the kids are all excited too - no school and lots of snow to play in! We're supposed to get about a foot of snow, and it's been coming down hard all morning, so it looks good. Cindy, isn't today your birthday? Do I have the wrong date on my calendar? Hugs to all. yep, yesterday was my birthday, thanks Margie! That sure was good of you to drive all that way to see his match! To bad he didn't win, but there's always next time... How did the soccer game go? Thanks Cheryl, I appreciate it, but we have lots of different sun glasses that I could wear if I wanted to. I may try it out, but I really don't think they'll help. If there's one near by, you might check with a residential care facility, they often have folks that are on state welfare and can't afford the things they need. I don't mean the fancy places, as they don't allow poor people to live there as the poor can't afford it, but rather the places that have people with low incomes. Most places that accept them wind up having almost all their residents being low income...

Cindy, thanks for the copied post from another form, I agree with what was posted and it was helpful. Let us know how much snow you get there, I am thinking they must expect more than one foot if the schools are closed down. Good for Bruce and friends to be able to enjoy the snow and it is like a Birthday present to you to be able to see Bruce and the children enjoy the snow.
I went to Costco yesterday and returned my membership card. I had the card for 4 months and only shopped there once. I told the guy behind the counter that it was to far for me to drive to the store and I got a full refund. I also had to return some bad tasting coffee and got a refund for that. There was a man at the store that decided to walk beside me, so I went halfway down an isle and then turned around and we back the other way. I left him just standing still in the isle. I have a lot of house cleaning to do, I never get caught up. Have a blessed day today.

Anna!! That would have unnerved me! You did the right thing, turning around and going back in the direction you just came from. I'm glad he didn't continue to follow you!
I'm glad you were able to get your money back for the membership card, and the coffee. I often wonder why they feel that having a "membership" for a grocery store, makes it a better place to shop. Why can't they make it accessible to everyone. They'd actually make more money that way. It's why I don't shop at Sam's Club. Can't afford the yearly membership and can't buy in bulk, so it's not for me either.
Cindy, I can't take these glasses to a nursing home or any other facility like that. They wouldn't last a day, because someone will have stolen them. I put my old friend, Harry, in one of the best places available and right away, someone apparently wanted a pretty frame on a treasured photo Harry had on his wall, so they stole the entire thing. Didn't even leave him the picture. He was heart broken. So, no. I have no use for those places and how they treat their residents.
I know that the Lord will let me know who to give them to, in His timing.
I have an update on Ruthanne's progress. Going over to update now.

Cindy: My granddaughter's soccer team won 2-0. Forgot to mention that.
Cheryl: Most libraries have a drop off for regular eyeglasses and sunglasses. The Lions Club picks them up to repair if needed and donates them (Lions Recycle for Sight)
Sunshine here but the wind is cool. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

That's what it looks like now, except there's still some snow in the tree branches lol. Bruce and just about everyone here is ecstatic! We got a foot and a half of snow yesterday and should get another foot of snow over the next week from several storms. And there's another storm coming around the 18th that looks like it'll be a big one too!

I have a lot of house cleaning to do, I never get caught up. Have a blessed day today. I was talking about how they're closing the schools so often now with my oldest daughter, and Bruce and I have talked about it too of course. They never would have closed the schools for any of the storms we've had this year back when my kids were going to school and not when Bruce was in school either. I guess they're worried about lawsuits now or something, cause they seem to close them now at the drop of a hat. I can remember one time when we were having a blizzard, and they didn't close the schools or even delay the starting time. At the time I was angry and worried about it, but everyone told me that there was no reason to be and the kids would be fine. (It was shortly after we'd moved here so I wasn't used to the winters yet) And of course, the kids were just fine. It's funny though, as you can sure tell a lot about a person's work ethic during the winter. People who really don't want to work will use the snow as an excuse to call in and say they can't make it. All they have to do is say they can't get out of their driveway. I don't know how many times I had to pull a double shift because people didn't show up. Jenn and Michelle had to work yesterday, and both did, but both had lots of people call in and say they couldn't make it. Employers can always count on that; but they quickly learn which employees they can count on too. I remember one storm when I walked the couple of miles to work because I was afraid to drive in it - but I got there, and on time too. But another person called in and said they couldn't make it, cause they couldn't get their car out of their driveway. What made it so totally ridiculous was that this person lived right next door to where we worked!!! I couldn't believe it! (neither could my boss lol)
I'm glad you found the article helpful... That was funny about leaving the guy standing in the aisle, lol, I'll have to remember that!

Cheryl, not all places are like that. Sometimes what people think is the best of places is actually one of the worst, and sometimes the places that most think is one of the worst is one of the best. That's how it was and is where I used to work. Other people would make fun of it,and called it a dump and everything else. But the residents were loved and cared for. Sure there were bad aides as well as good ones, but no place is perfect because there are bad people in all walks of life. Nothing was ever stolen at any of the places I worked at. (not because I was there lol, but because they were good places)Cindy: My granddaughter's soccer team won 2-0. Forgot to mention that. I didn't think of that. And what you said, also reminded me of the places who repair glasses and give them to the homeless. I guess I needed to post about it, so everyone can help jump-start my brain. It seems to have gone on vacation, in this last while.

Hello, yesterday I made a windsock and we put that up on a pole. That has encouraged me to start sewing for myself, but I am not in a hurry because I have clothes in my closet that I can wear out first before I start to sew. Today I took apart two old computer chairs and switched out parts and made one good chair to use for myself. Now my chair has arm rests and a back. I used to have to tie rope for the back of the chair.
Did you see the bright moon last Friday night. I went outside and looked at it, called a snow moon or bright moon. Art and family bought a new home in a city near the border, near where daughter lives. They just have to wait on the paper work and the guy to move out and then they can move in. It is a good thing that I did not throw away that book he left in a bag with the bad veggies, because he wanted the book back, so we gave that back to him today. Last week a border patrol agent was beat up by a man he tried to detain. Many packs of coyotes passing through the area right now, I can listen to them in the morning and at night. There is plenty of water in the area right now for them to drink. I saw one run in front of my car the other day when I was driving down the highway and also a buck crossed the highway in front of my car, beautiful animal.

I saw that moon. It was awesome! The sky was so bright! Good thing you kept that book. Did you have it long enough to have read it? Wow, when the border control gets attacked by the detainees, that's scary. Did it hit the news? Or did it get squelched?
We used to have coyotes, where I used to live, up north. And fox. They stayed clear of the homes, though, thank goodness. I could hear them, at night, howling. Eerie sound.

Hi Good day. I was not able to keep looking at that full moon because of how bright it was, that night there was also a comet 45p, which I looked to see and I think I saw it and a lunar eclipse. We had clear skies that night and went for a night ride in our old SUV. I always hope that SUV does not break down while on a night drive, but it should be ok if we don't turn it off and have to restart it. A few days ago we drove that SUV to where we take a walk with the dogs and it would not restart, the old starter wore down the battery, so I had to walk back to the home and get the truck so we could tow the SUV back home. That was was not far to walk during the day.
We don't get much border patrol news, but I saw that news by looking at the sheriff's report for this area. There are people crossing the border still in the same area as usual. I also read that on the sheriff's report.
Yes animal sounds at night are eerie to hear. A wild cat that comes down from the mountains is the worst sound, I seldom hear that sound but it sounds like a woman screaming.

That's how I feel about my pick up truck. It's 29 years old, runs like a champ, but it's old, and I don't want to push my luck with it. But, I want to drive it, all the time. I love it. But, now I'm afraid that if I break down, I'll have to call a for a tow, because I don't have Ed here to come get me. I do have towing on my insurance, but that's not it. It's the mechanic bill I'm concerned about. But, y'all would be proud of me, though. Well, be proud of the Lord, because He gave me the knowledge of what to try and do. Being that the truck IS so old, I can still figure out the workings of it. (no computer) But, it's been overheating, and I only drive it to take the garbage to the dump, or run to the local store. When I accelerate, the gauge goes way up. So, a couple days ago, I went to the gas station and bought a gallon of antifreeze and hoped that would do the trick, and it DID! I ran it for a test drive and used a road where the speed limit is 55, and gassed on it. And the gauge didn't move! But, I did notice, while examining under the hood that I need to replace my upper water hose. I used to be able to do that, but Ed made me stop working on cars, years ago, so my courage to attempt that is low. I'm not even sure that I can even do it anymore. It's kinda high up, so I either have to use a step stool (which I will fall off of), or I have to stretch my body and arms and that will cause my muscles to seize up. I REALLY hate the thought of asking one of the neighbor guys to do it for me. They have lives of their own. I haven't decided what to do, yet.
Anna, with all the wildlife you have, where you are, I'd be really nervous about walking anywhere at night. Even if it's a short distance. I'm glad the Lord kept you safe, while you walked.
You and your hubby are real good at fixing things, but there's one thing that I learned about starters and batteries, that has gotten me out of jams, more times than I can count. Next time that happens. Before you have worn your battery down, have your hubby grab onto the battery cables, where they lead to the starter and pull up on them. He doesn't have to pull hard.....just enough to move the position of the cables. And at that same time, you turn over the engine. Sometimes, the connection between the battery and starter is corroded and pulling up on them, helps that connection. (I'm explaining that in layman's terms, but whatever......it works, lol) I made the mistake of doing that for some ladies, while I was going to college. My mom was picking me up, one day, and I noticed that a carpool of women were having car trouble. I was in a dress and Mom said "Don't do it". But, I had to try and help. I asked what was wrong and they said the car just won't start. It will turn over, but not start. So, I got my jacket out of Mom's van, to protect my clothing, and proceeded to pull up on those cables while she turned the key and it fired up. When I got back to Mom, she said, "You are going to be real sorry, you did that." I said "Nah". Well, Mom's always right, you know. After that, I had a reputation. Women were coming to me for mechanic advice, asking me to work on their cars and everything. I was going to college to get my degree in accounting, and people were bugging me to work on their cars. That's when I kept my steadfast rule. I will work on my own car and mess it up, but I won't work on someone else's car and mess it up. LOL
OK, I'm done babbling for now. Babble at y'all later.

OH, I almost forgot to let y'all know. Ruthanne has been here, and tried to read some posts, but she's having a hard time, sitting at her computer desk. So, she asked me to tell everyone she says hello, and thank you all for praying for her. She really appreciates it.

Well, now it looks like this LOL. We got just under another foot of snow yesterday. Sadly, last night there were over 125 accidents in NH because of the storm. The Governor has asked everyone to stay home today so they can get the roads cleared. No school anywhere for the kids, so they're all happy. The storms have taken a toll on me so I'm going to be resting up today, even though I did so yesterday too. We're due to get yet another storm on Wednesday and it's supposed to be a big one too. Anna: that was a good way to deal with the stalker, I will have to remember that.....better than trying to skulk away scared looking over shoulder to see if he is still there.
Cindy: Thank you for the good info on pleading the blood, very very helpful info!!
You're welcome Barbara!Hello, yesterday I made a windsock and we put that up on a pole. That's so sad about the border patrol agent. I'll have to tell Bruce about it. Maybe he can find more information about what's been going on there. Thanks for letting us know.
It's nice getting to see the wildlife, but I hate it when they get hit by cars.
Well, I'm about to give out now, so I'm off to rest and hang out with hubby for a bit. Love you guys!Hello, yesterday I made a windsock and we put that up on a pole.
OH, I almost forgot to let y'all know. Ruthanne has been here, and tried to read some posts, but she's having a hard time, sitting at her computer desk. So, she asked me to tell everyone she says hello, and thank you all for praying for her. She really appreciates it. PraiseGod that she's home!

Rainy day here today. It is always nice to get rain here. I just now found on you tube sermons in audio by Charles Spurgeon. Barbra it seems like you have a nice area there where you live. Are you getting a lot of rain also? Cheryl it is good that you know what is wrong with your truck. A hose would be easy to fix if you could reach it. I hope you get that fixed soon so you don't break down somewhere. Cindy enjoy your time with Bruce. I hope he is able to enjoy the snow today. It must be pretty there with all that snow, but yes not good to have to drive in that much snow. Good day Magie , Ruthanne and Kelley.
