I'm slowly getting things unpacked and put away here. Our house finally has a Sold sign on it. The 2nd people who made an offer had the house inspected and offered us a final contract. We close on it January 25. An auction company will be there next week to pick up the leftover furniture.
Much colder here. There is a breakfast for new residents tomorrow morning so that's where I'll be. I love not having to cook!

Hey everybody -- I wanted to post a prayer request for Cheryl's husband, Ed. He's back in the hospital (since Monday, I believe) and is very sick with pneumonia and many other issues, I don't even know what all. They're waiting for the cardiologist to come in this morning. Please keep him in your prayers, and Cheryl also, because neither of them got any sleep last night.
Margie, thankful to hear you are all moved in and VERY thankful that you have another contract on your house!! I know that's a big relief to you. Your new home sounds wonderful and I am SURE you'll enjoy not cooking as often!
Cindy, I was sorry to read you were sick during Christmas. We've had a lot of sniffles and raw throats over here, but thankfully nothing too serious ever since Daniel recovered from the pneumonia he had back in November.
I've been in and out of town a lot over the last few weeks, which is partly why I haven't posted much (the other part is just all the stuff that had to get done when I was at home). I did want to tell one story though. Our family has always gone up to the mountains of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, TN right around Christmas; it's one of our traditions. However, due to the fires that swept through the mountains and destroyed portions of Gatlinburg (in November), we didn't know if we would get to go. We did end up going, for a couple of days, but because it was last-minute, Timothy didn't get to go with us because he had to work.
Looking back though, what a blessing, because one of those evenings at work (his night job is waiting tables at Ruby Tuesday) he was chatting with a customer who suddenly began choking. It was near closing time and the place was almost empty, so when Tim realized what was happening and there was nobody around to help, he jumped into action, performed the Heimlich maneuver, and saved the man's life! Turns out the man was choking on a rib bone. We had been so disappointed when Tim couldn't go with us on the trip, but after he told us what happened, we were grateful he was there to help. It reminded me that, although it's not always obvious to us, God directs our plans and works even in our disappointments.
So, yesterday was back-to-school-day around here. It was nice having Monday off (for Daniel and for John too), but time to get back in the groove. Lulu, I know you must be loving your week off! I'm in no hurry to get our Christmas trees down, although it will need to be done, eventually.
Anna, Seven, hope you're both doing well!

Good Morning everyone! for ya Cindy... it's up to 59 degrees here, boy and I went for our walk around the park.... , got to feed only a couple squirrels, they are cuddling to keep warm...lol... getting into the bedroom..... and doing the laundry... Seems like yesterday was laundry day for a lot of folks lol. Everyone I talked to was doing laundry. I didn't though, so I'll have to do mine today I guess. I'm definitely going to have to look and see if there's a place like that around here that's anywhere near affordable - like free LOLYeah only blib they really talk about incoming storm this weekend going be big might be flooding for so called burn area they most talking about how somebody could change Hollywood sign into Hollyweed I haven't heard anymore about it, but then I try not to watch the news very often.Hey everybody -- I wanted to post a prayer request for Cheryl's husband, Ed. That's so amazing Lorrie and surely does show how God knows best and has everything under control! Praise God!!! Now if only we could trust Him when we don't know the reasons why lol.
I took our tree down back on December 29th. I normally leave it up till the New year, but wanted to get things back to normal this year, so I did lol
I'll be right back to work on the studies but first... need to grab another cup of coffee!

Oh Lulu, I am so sorry about the layoff... will pray that Ron's able to find something even better, quickly, and that God provides in the meantime.
I came on here tonight, in case anybody happens to check in, to ask for prayer for Cheryl's Ed. He is critically ill tonight and it does not sound good. PLEASE keep the both of them in your prayers. Cheryl is understandably very upset. Thank you so much, and I'll update when I know more.

Morning all.Lulu will pray for you and Ron.And definitely praying for Cheryl.Cindy,I have a question.Am reading Genesis and wonder if Jesus is the same God that walked the earth and the same God of the OT?After reading ,My encouraging Word was about Jesus Christ, the same yesterday today and forever.I learned about the holiness of the Father in the OT and didn't think I knew Jesus as well.As I read it again, this question came up.I asked the Lord.I guess it's too deep for me at this time, huh.Love Ruthanne

Will do Lorrie. I pray for them regularly anyway, and have been praying about this since you told us about it.Morning all.Lulu will pray for you and Ron.And definitely praying for Cheryl.Cindy,I have a question.Am reading Genesis and wonder if Jesus is the same God that walked the earth and the same God of the OT?After reading ,My encouraging Word was about Jesus Christ, the same yesterday today and forever.I learned about the holiness of the Father in the OT and didn't think I knew Jesus as well.As I read it again, this question came up.I asked the Lord.I guess it's too deep for me at this time, huh.Love Ruthanne I'm not quite sure what you mean Ruthanne, but I'll take a stab at it for you. Jesus is not the Father, although they are One, just as He is not the Holy Spirit but is also One with Him. The Trinity isn't something we'll be able to truly understand in this life as it goes way beyond our 3 dimensional thinking and understanding, so we just have to accept it for now. Jesus is very much the God of the old Testament though, just as the Father and Holy Spirit are. In fact, Jesus walked on the earth before He was born in Bethlehem! When this happened, it's called a theophany, and Jesus is usually referred to as "the Angel of the Lord" when this happens. You can find some of these instances when he appeared in these scriptures: Genesis 16:9; Genesis 22:11; Genesis 48:16; Exodus 3:2; Judges 2:1–5, Judges 6:11, Judges 13:3; and 2 Kings 19:35. I'm sorry I don't have time to list them all for you. Jesus even speaks about one of them: “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.” “You are not yet fifty years old,” the Jews said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!” “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”” (John 8:56–58)
I used to feel like I knew Jesus better than the Father, and I was more comfortable talking to Jesus than the Father... until the Lord pointed out some scriptures to me that is: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3) and “Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?” (John 14:9) In other words, Jesus showed us exactly what the Father was like. He showed us how the Father felt about us, and what the Father did and how the Father acted. Jesus says that if we know Him, than we have seen the Father and know the Father too because He is exactly like the Father, and the Father is exactly like Him - although they are not the same person. John also tells us about Jesus being present during the creation of the world: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:1–3) and if you re-read Hebrews 1:3 again, it says Jesus continues to sustain the world He created and all of us by His Word.
More to the subject at hand though...The old Testament, shows us the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All 3 are present and can be seen acting in our interests, guiding and providing for us as well as disciplining us. Many people today don't bother to read the OT thinking we don't need it anymore, but that's a lie from Satan. If you think about it, neither Jesus or the apostles had the NT when they were teaching people about Jesus and the Father and the Holy Spirit, and the gospel. So what did they use to teach the people about all of this from? They used the Old Testament! Jesus is the same, as you quoted, yesterday, today and forever, as is the Father, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) The Father: “I the LORD do not change” (Malachi 3:6) “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17)
The Father: ““This is what the LORD says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.” (Isaiah 44:6) Jesus: “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” (Revelation 1:17)
Jesus: ““I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”” (Revelation 1:8) The Father: ““Listen to me, O Jacob, Israel, whom I have called: I am he; I am the first and I am the last.” (Isaiah 48:12)
The very bottom line is that Yes, Jesus is the same God that came as a baby and was born in Bethlehem, and the same God that created the earth, and created you in your mother's womb, and the same God who destroyed Sodom, and the same God who did everything in the OT and everything in the NT, including who died and who rose again on the 3rd day, and who will one day (soon) judge the earth.
“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:4–5) I hope that somewhere in all of that, I answered your real question lol

Morning all! it's been a cold one here, getting down to almost 20 below 0! Brrrr!
I meant to come here 4 hours ago, but did the thread on the rapture first and then answered all the questions on the bible study thread, so wound up getting here late. Probably took me longer than usual due to the pain I'm in. I guess that's due to the storms we've been having. I don't know, but I'm more then ready for it to get better, that's for sure!

Good Morning all! I hope you all slept well last night. I sure did! I was nice and warm too...when I woke up I realized that I was covered with cats LOL
Jenn went to the doctor because she's still not over the cold, but then neither are we. But the doc put her on antibiotics as he wasn't sure if she might have an infection as well. So hopefully she'll start feeling better soon. Thank the Lord her kids haven't gotten it!

Ron has a doctors appointment today....his angle is really bothering him again....it would be good if he could get disability....

Good Morning all! Well, it's finally getting warmer here, but the nights are still going to be super cold. That's usually how it is though, so that's not to bad.I think he is about 14 year old at the time I was only 18 months younger him so I think I was about turn 13 or 12 1/2 been so long Yeah homeless crisis is bad in SO CAL It sounds like something my boys would have done about that age LOL
Elijah and Grace got all excited on their way home from Maine a few weeks ago, because they finally saw someone who was homeless. Their Dad pulled the car over and they got the special bag they'd made up for the homeless in Sunday School out of the trunk. Jenn contributed what cash she had to the bags too, and then led the children in prayer before they ran over and gave it to the man and told him that they would pray for him (which they promptly did again when they got back in the car!). I was so proud of them and thanked the Lord because I'd been talking to the Lord about how I could find a way to get the kids to help others rather than just thinking about themselves during the holiday season. The Lord took care of it for me with a project they'd done well before Christmas but hadn't been able to do anything with till then.
I'm still seeking the Lord for other ways I can get the kids to think of others instead of themselves or at least in addition to themselves throughout the year, but especially on days when they expect to get gifts. I want them to realize that there are many children who don't get gifts, and many who don't even have shoes or coats to wear etc, so they'll realize just how extremely blessed they are. Crazy people....ya know what Cindy, I do enjoy my job...pretty much anyways, really always have. it's just after two weeks off, I wasn't liking the idea of going back...I am tired of working, I do pray this coming year things change as to where you can retire at 62 and afford heal care, or get media care. with the way things are now, I've got to work till 65 in order to get media care! upon getting to work on Monday, I learned 11 people from my company had gotten laid off the week before, while I was out on vacation! and 2 people quite.... Ron has a doctors appointment today....his angle is really bothering him again....it would be good if he could get disability.... I'm glad you do Lulu. I hope I didn't offend you...I sure didn't mean to! I can certainly understand not wanting to go back to work and just wanting to stay home instead, and of course retire. I wasn't even considering that. I often forget how old we are since I haven't worked in so long. It's ironic how before I got my last job that I loved so much, I used to wish I didn't have to work, and ever since I got hurt, I'd give anything if I could go back to work - any kind of work! I guess that's how our sin nature works though.

Hi I am feel better now, but I gave Ron the flu and he looks awful. He had me drive to the store last night to buy a chicken so I could make chicken noodle soup. I never drive at night, long distances, but I went. People are friendly at night in town. I did see some men that must of rode in on the train or off the highway, they looked rough. I think more people come off of the Interstate walking this time of year to escape the cold weather up north. We have nice weather here, so nice I can open my windows during to day, it is spring like weather.

I have heard that there is a lot of snow now in the CA mountains, that is good, I know those mountains have not had the snow that they should have for water to flow to the valley, though I have not seen any weather that is happening around the US, where is all the news about that? I have just heard someone mention something about weather. Lately whenever I get a UPS package dropped off at my fence gate guess what time that dude shows up? Yep 7 0clock at night, long after dark. The guy is a nice Christian and I feel sorry for him to still be working so late at night in these unlit areas, and even driving up the mountain roads,so I say a prayer for him. Even if I was the last home he delivered to he would still have a 1 hour drive to get back to his UPS station.

I unpacked the last box today. I still have to sort through Christmas decorations and repack them. I just hurriedly stuffed them into boxes because we moved so soon after Christmas.
I heard it was 80 degrees today! It was really nice.

Good morning all! For some reason I'm really tired today... I got plenty of sleep so shouldn't be, but I am, so I guess I just have to deal with it.Hi I am feel better now, but I gave Ron the flu and he looks awful. I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope Ron gets better quickly too! Our weather has been weird as usual again. One day it's 20 below and the next day it's 50! Crazy!I talk to doctor friend of mine he claim that flu is going around in certain area of the country somebody reported on Deadliest catch fan forum on FB that on boat captain came down with flu in Seattle WA during Christmas weekend I think it was Keith Corbun of Wizard Yes there was torando touch down up in North Cali earlier this morning because we get wallow by the rain Wow, I didn't think California got tornadoes! I hope no one was hurt!I talk to doctor friend of mine he claim that flu is going around in certain area of the country somebody reported on Deadliest catch fan forum on FB that on boat captain came down with flu in Seattle WA during Christmas weekend I think it was Keith Corbun of Wizard Yes there was torando touch down up in North Cali earlier this morning because we get wallow by the rain The poor captain dude. That's the way it is here too. I remember one year that I was expecting a package and had gotten a notice that it would be delivered around 6:30 that night, but the guy didn't show up. We were having a bad blizzard that night and I was so worried about him. I even called UPS to ask if they knew where he was and if he was ok. They didn't but said they'd check. I didn't care about the package, I just wanted to make sure he was ok. Turned out he got stuck in the snow and when he finally got out he just went home. He told me about it the next day. I unpacked the last box today. I still have to sort through Christmas decorations and repack them. I just hurriedly stuffed them into boxes because we moved so soon after Christmas. I heard it was 80 degrees today! It was really nice. Wow! 80 degrees in January! It's going to be 50 here today which is just unheard of LOL but then it's back to the 30's tomorrow LOL
Hope everyone has a good day!
