Shirley is starting to remember more, each day. Today, she spouted out that she remembers the ambulance ride to the hospital. Heck, that would be one thing I would want to forget but she can describe in detail all that they did to her before she passed out. She is trying so very hard to remember. I told her that it's going to take time. Her short term memory is improving but I need to help her in a lot of areas. As for me, I am still facing trouble in my leg. My healing process is a slow one but I am getting better. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. I promise to update at least once a week on our progress. Thank you and God Bless!

Hi Mark - thank you for the details on Shirley and you. I agree that I'd want to forget that ambulance ride, but this is good progress!! Is she able to walk now, and use her hands? Is talking easy for her? (I know that memory and speech were the two things that gave my grandmother trouble after she had a serious stroke.) I really admire Shirley's perseverance during recovery... it takes a long time but the results are worth it! She is so blessed to have a caring husband who wants to help.
So sorry to hear that your leg is still giving you trouble, and I'm sure that makes it more difficult for you to assist Shirley.
Thank You Lord for helping Shirley AND Mark and bringing them this far, and we ask that You please continue carrying them through this time. Help Shirley as she works to recover her short-term memory and enable her to do more and more each day. We humbly ask that You will give them both complete healing. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Leigh, Shirley is talking pretty good and walking with a limp. Her right side is still not working as well as her left side is but she is improving. I just recently took her to the eye doctor and they found she has Glaucoma in both eyes. She is taking eye drops for the rest of her life and she now sees a bit better. She is trying so hard to remember to do things, Bless her heart, but I am by her side almost 24-7 because I work from home. Thank you for your wonderful prayer. They sure are helping us.

I am so glad you are able to be there for her all hours of the day and night, what a blessing. Thank you for the update. As serious of a stroke as she had, it is amazing that Shirley has come this far. Thank You Lord! Very sorry to hear about the glaucoma diagnosis... one more issue to deal with, but, at least there is medication available to help, so even that is a praise. Continuing the prayers. |
