Had to start the day with No Coffee 'cause I had to have a (routine) blood test done this morning. But afterwards I drove straight to Chik-Fil-A for breakfast. Doing laundry and chores. Nice day here. Hugs to all.

Good day, the rain that CA and TX got missed us here in AZ in the middle of the two, we have blowing dust here. The top layer of dust blows off the ground and them the rocks are exposed, so there are lots of rock to walk on. I have bruised the heel of my foot from walking on rocks all the time, so I must always wear shoes with hard heals or boots. There must have been high barometric pressure the last few days because my joints ached. I made a large pot of vegetable soup yesterday the old fashioned way, I put 2/3 of the soup in the freezer.
Cindy good to read that you have a church to belong to and that Bruce might join you going there on Sunday, that would be nice.
Lulu that is nice that you take your dog for a walk, the dogs sure do like to get out of the house and walk around. It is good to read that you are only working 8 hour days.

Nice day here. Hugs to all. I hate the fasting blood draws, they're the worst! I always take a nice big cup of hot coffee with me so that the first thing I do as soon as I get back in the car is to drink it! it's been a nice day here. I know the money comes in handy, but at the same time, it can sure wear a body out. It's been raining here since yesterday. Started out as snow, but that melted within a half hour, then it was freezing rain, and finally just plain rain, which hasn't stopped and doesn't look like it's going to for awhile yet. At least it's not as cold as it was yesterday. Strange how it felt cold to us when it was only 30. Just goes to show how our bodies get used to things. I'm sorry your joints were aching Anna. I can't for the life of me figure out what causes mine to hurt. I always hurt more when there's a storm around, and usually the bigger the storm, the more pain there is...but not always. (no...that would be way to simple to figure out LOL) Instead, sometimes a small storm will cause as much pain as a tornado, and sometimes a large storm won't hardly bother me at all. Granted, that's not often, but it does happen. Still other times, I'll hurt so much that I'm positive that a storm is on the way, but it doesn't come. Later I usually find out there was a storm, but it didn't affect us here on the ground. Weird huh? I guess that's why doctors have such a hard time figuring it out too and often say it's our imaginations. I know it's definitely not my imagination, but what actually cause it, I have no idea...barometric pressure? maybe... but I suspect that something else is involved in it too.
Have you ever seen accuweather's arthritis forecasts? Here's a link that shows mine for today and says it's a "high risk" day which I can say is accurate as the storm is causing me a lot of pain. They often hit it right on the money, but sometimes they're wrong too. I really like it because they also have forecasts for migraines, allergies, sinus, asthma, and all kinds of other things. They give you lots of information too, and show how they've determined the forecast as well. It's really interesting. (well, to me it is lol) www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-ipswich-nh/03071/arthritis-weather/2174139

Sooo far behind (on posting) in here, but at least let me give the recipe link Cindy requested and that I promised:
www.food.com/recipe/creamy-burrito-casserole-33919
I made a couple of changes: used cream of chicken soup in place of cream of mushroom, plus I added some mild salsa to the meat/bean mixture. I also made up my own taco seasoning, rather than use the packets (because I have to be careful about MSG - although there's probably some in the cream soup, but at least I can minimize it). Served it with extra sour cream, sliced olives, and tortilla chips w/salsa. It wasn't too spicy, just right, and it was a big hit.
You didn't ask for this, but take a look at what I fixed for dessert - YUM!!!!

Lulu, I just had routine tests for a six-month checkup. I know the test will show that my cholesterol is high but that's the way it always is.
Leigh, your recipes sound really good.
This coming Saturday night I'll have 7 people staying at my house. My husband's brother, his two daughters and 1 of his granddaughters are staying here and then catching a flight on Sunday. When my son learned that his uncle/cousins would be here, he wanted to come over and see them. I told him I didn't have any more beds so he's bringing an air mattress for them to sleep on. I'm going to the store on Friday to get breakfast items and on Saturday morning I'll bake cookies for snacks.

That is nice Lulu that you are getting a new roof on your house and solar panels. It is like a birthday present for both you and Ron that will keep giving all year long.

Thank you Lorrie! I've always made my own seasoning for Mexican food since we had a Mexican maid from the time I was born till she got married. (she wasn't really our maid, that's just the title my parents gave her so she could legally live with us and so they could give her money as they wanted to put her through college and also knew she needed to give money to her parents regularly as they needed the support) She couldn't speak English when she first came to live with us, so as a baby, I learned both Spanish and English at the same time. She was like a big sister to me, and I'm afraid that as I got older, I really gave her a hard time, especially when she started dating! Anyway, my Mom learned how to make Mexican food from her, and of course eventually taught me how. That recipe you shared looks really good but I like the changes you made. Thank you!

And a very happy birthday to Ron!That is nice Lulu that you are getting a new roof on your house and solar panels. Lorrie, I keep meaning to ask about your sister. I've been praying and was hoping there might be some good news...
Lulu, I've been praying for Ron's brother as well. How's he doing? How are you and Ron doing? How are your boarders doing?
The weather is weird. The day before was 30 and yesterday was 66. Right now it's 45 and supposed to go up to 60 today. I'm never sure just what to wear when I get up as I don't know if it's going to be summer or winter that day.
May I ask you guys another favor? Would you pray for me? I have some decisions I need to make concerning finances that seem totally impossible no matter how I look at it, and no matter which way I choose. So I really need the Lord to give me wisdom and discernment to make the best decision for us. I'd sure appreciate it if you all would pray for me about it. Thanks!
OK, I'm off to see what else is happening here!

Thanks Anna, I appreciate it!
Guess what? Everyone is all excited because we just might get some snow finally this year! What a strange winter it's been. Really, it feels like we haven't even had winter yet. But they're reporting that this weekend we're finally going to get some snow, and that has everyone hoping and praying for a real blizzard! Everyone's dying to get on their ski's or snowmobiles and of course the kids just want to be able to go play in it. I sure hope for all their sakes that we get a bunch of it! We'll see.... The guys where Bruce works (including Bruce) are all thinking of taking either the day or the afternoon off on Monday just so they can go play in the snow LOL. They started working on their snowmobiles yesterday to make sure they'd all be ready! That's how badly they're wanting it!

That is good news Daniel - thank you. Wow, the week has flown by. I've been reading, keeping up, just not writing. First off, happy birthday to Ron! John's sister turns 60 today, and our good friend from church, Don, also turns 60 this week, so there's a lot to celebrate!! And Cindy's only a month ahead! (And I'm 10 years behind! ) Cindy, can't believe you might be getting snow this weekend. I really hope it works out for all the kids - big & small! You're right, winter has been strangely warm this year, and in fact it's long gone in these parts. Temps were way up into the 80s earlier in the week and of course we had to turn on the A/C. Here in South Carolina it seems we only have about one day each of spring and fall! My mother was telling me Sarah Palin's husband was in a serious snowmobiling accident. We disconnected our cable TV last week and I'm not keeping up with the news very well now. She said he was critically injured, but it sounds like he's going to pull through. Cindy, did you get an answer yet on the financial decision? I hope the Lord has shown you what to do on that. That was interesting about your Mexican "maid" from your childhood. I don't remember hearing about her before and you must have really enjoyed having her around, especially since you were an only child. Did she go back to Mexico after college? Did you ever hear from her again? Do you still speak the Spanish she taught you?! (Do I ask too many questions?!?!? )

Oops, I wasn't through yet!!! Anyway, Margie you have a busy weekend ahead, but it sounds fun. There's something really special about a house full of family. When everybody finally gets to bed it's a comforting feeling knowing your loved ones are all around. I hope you have a great time together. Hope also that everything turned out well with your labs (do you take cholesterol meds?). Lulu, did the roof & solar panels get installed? I remember when we got our roof put on a few years ago I had a migraine that day and ended up going down to my neighbor's house to get away from the banging -- that was awful! Glad to know that you got to spend Ron's birthday together (and off of work) and hope you enjoyed yourselves. Anna, hope the pain and pressure has subsided from the high barometric pressure. Those dust storms sound pretty intense. How did your soup turn out? Homemade vegetable soup is one of my favorites - I could eat it every day (at least, during the winter, maybe not the summer). Cindy, I just now clicked on your Accuweather link and it predicts arthritis pain for tonight, but it looks like it'll get better through the weekend so hang in there! Lulu, thank you for the prayers for all of us while you walk your dog. Nice that you ran into your neighbor Hank, along with Moose and Crush (cute names!). Hope things go smoothly for you this weekend; I know your household has been in turmoil over recent months. Margie, your quote from the top of the page gave me a laugh. This part: " Had to start the day with No Coffee 'cause I had to have a (routine) blood test done this morning. But afterwards I drove straight to Chik-Fil-A for breakfast." You did exactly the right thing: straight to Chick Fil-A for breakfast after you finished at the doctor. The one time John had a kidney stone, we went to the hospital (about 4 a.m.), he got pain meds, got diagnosed, passed the stone, then we too went straight to CFA for breakfast when he was released at 7 a.m. It sounded funny telling people about it, since usually a kidney stone isn't such a quick thing. Well - Cindy, you asked about my sister and I was saving her update for last. Thank you SO much for the prayers. She is still very sick, so continued prayers are much appreciated. Even though I've already told you all the background, I'm going to copy over the prayer request I sent out to some ladies earlier today: She has been sick since November with what started as bronchitis and has progressed into something worse, but nobody knows what. She is currently on her fourth round of antibiotics. Besides her family doctor, she's seeing a pulmonologist, a cardiologist (she has developed tachycardia, requiring beta blockers), is scheduled with a rheumatologist (labs for autoimmune disorder are elevated), she is anemic (iron supplements aren't helping), exhausted -- and still has a horrible cough. And to top it all off, her dryer just broke! She has eight children so that's a big deal! She was scheduled for a bronchoscopy w/lung biopsy yesterday, but at her request the doctor is giving her one more month to see if these antibiotics help, then she will repeat her chest CT and, if needed, have the scope then. We would so greatly appreciate your prayers for her healing.

I certainly hope this is so, but they might just be empty words with no good intention behind them. It is easy to read what the media writes but harder for me to know what is really going on. For example the real reason why Russia pulled troops out of Syria. I think they did that because they are feeling threatened at their own border and are putting their troops their instead, for now. Good morning ladies! I am up early this morning. My neighbors dog lets out a loud and lonely howl this time of the morning and it wakes me up right away out of sleep, like an alarm clock would. I forgot the dogs name but he comes over to my place often waiting for a biscuit treat, so I give him two biscuits. The other day Ron had to give a box to be mailed out to the mail lady so he waited for her where all the mailboxes are at the end of the road. At that time Ron told the mail lady that she dropped some letters on the ground, she said no she did not and opened our neighbors larger than average mailbox and put the letters back in their box, she said they never pick up their mail and that large box was so stuffed with mail that putting anymore letters inside won't fit without falling out. That is strange, the woman is at the house all the time and the man is home from work three days a week, can't figure out those two sometimes.

Yes, I understand and agree, Anna. Kerry may just be going through the motions, but it took a lot of work on behalf of the ACLJ to get this far... praise the Lord anyway. This isn't being reported by the mainstream, but is largely exclusive to the ACLJ because they've done the lion's share of the work. I'm encouraged as I share with others that such organizations still exist and withhold taking this sort of thing for granted as they tirelessly continue to fight for justice in an increasingly unjust world. These are the people who are actually doing something, by the Grace of God.

I too pray that it's true about Kerry Declaring ISIS is Committing Genocide Against Christians, but my heart doubts it, he's just as much as a liar as Obummer and Killary is... it's been a nice weekend thus far, it's a Jazz of a Jazzy weekend...the roommates are gone for the day so it's just me and my girl! breakfast at our old church (complements of Ron) *The Way* and a quick bible lesson...from Ron...now it's just a quiet afternoon, Ron's taking a nap...and Matt's off to work... the weather is beautiful, in the low 70's. tonight it our annual Casino nite...it's a charity thing for the abused children of southern California, dinner and playing cards, with fake money...raffles and auctions...Jazzy's going with us, she should have a wicked good time!

I got to go to church yet again. I can sure tell that Satan doesn't want me there though. This was my 3rd Sunday going and each time I've been sicker and in more pain then the one before and had to force myself to get there, and barely made it on time. But with God's help, I did it. I just hope it gets easier.

Leigh, yes I do take cholesterol meds. And CFA is my favorite place to eat.
The family and I had a good time on Saturday/Sunday. They brought their little dog too but she's been here before and is no trouble.
Washing sheets and towels today but I'm finally finished. A tad chilly for me outside but it's bright and sunny.

Bucky has been running some of his horse business from the Phoenix area. He has about 8 horses there, put a building on land there, and was sleeping in the building. He just bought a new horse trailer for $31,000. A nicer trailer that he can sleep in the front of it when he travels. But he did not get permits from the county to put up the building on the land, nor to have his horse business there, so the county called him and told him to get his horses off of the land or else they would fine him $7000. So he got the horses off of the land. I don't know what he is doing now but I would guess he just paid the fine for not getting permits, which would not cost much money, maybe around $300. I find it interesting to watch resourceful people like him and his wife. I guess because I never was a resourceful person, but I don't envy them.

I'm glad you had a good time Margie. The weather here is still crazy. Two days ago it was winter and snowing, then the next day it was like summer! It's pretty nice out today too, and looks like it will be for the next little while, but then that could change by tomorrow Bucky has been running some of his horse business from the Phoenix area. He has about 8 horses there, put a building on land there, and was sleeping in the building. He just bought a new horse trailer for $31,000. Anna, I think you're one of the most resourceful people I know! Just look at all the different things you do regularly! I'm serious! You're amazing! (and I'm so very glad to know you as my sister in Christ!)
Sorry I didn't get in here yesterday. Not feeling to well, and this has been a difficult week for me physically, with lots to do. Which is probably why I'm not feeling all that great since any stress at all causes everything to flare. I used to think that the word "stress" meant that I was having negative feelings, and couldn't figure out why the RA and Sjögren's were always flaring since I consistently took my thoughts captive and replaced them. It didn't seem fair I finally figure out though that there's such a thing as physical stress on our bodies, when we're doing more then normal, or different things then normal etc. and that also causes the flares. That made me feel better mentally, cause at least I knew I wasn't fooling myself about doing what the Lord tells us to. But there's nothing I can do about the other kind of stress, but deal with it I guess.
Anyway, I "think" that just maybe I might have an answer or at least a clue about my financial questions that I asked prayer for. Not absolutely sure yet, so would still appreciate prayers, but hope to know for sure soon. Thank you so much for your help. Please know that your prayers really, really do help!
Speaking of prayer, I'm still praying for your sister Lorrie, and I keep forgetting to ask what he name is! I'm also still praying for Ron's brother and for you and Ron, Lulu.

Big storms in our area last night but we had only rain and a small amount of hail. Doing a load of laundry. Taking it easy today.

Hello everyone - Margie, glad you are safe from the storms on Wednesday night!
What is everyone doing this weekend? My parents were going to come spend Easter with us, but Mother called last night to say that Daddy is sick so they won't be able to come. That makes me so sad, but of course, I don't want them traveling if he's not up to it; it might be that I can go over there for a day or two next week.
Cindy, did you get your answer to the prayer by now? I hope that God has shown you what to do.
Anna, I definitely agree with Cindy that you are a resourceful and amazing person!! I always enjoy your stories of things that are happening in your life with your neighbors and all the critters that live around you. Haha, sometimes I'll read a story of yours and have no comment other than, "Wow!" and that seems so lame-- but I just enjoy reading what you say!
Lulu, hope you've had a nice work week. I'm sure you have family plans for the Easter weekend.
Oh - Cindy, thank you again for praying for my sister, and her name is Vicki. The latest on her is as follows: she was sent to the hospital a couple of weeks ago for a "heavy-duty" pulmonary function test and she realized she'd never gotten the results on that. So on Tuesday, which was a really bad day for her, she called the pulmonologist office to get results and they said it did show that she is, in fact, mildly asthmatic, so they let her go back on the asthma inhaler (that they'd taken her off of when the doctor thought she did NOT have asthma). So, asthma coupled with the pollen is probably causing some of her problems, but we still think there is more to it than just that. She's scheduled for a chest CT scan on 4/15; if she's not any better by next week she's going to have that moved up. Please continue the prayers and thank you very much!
Now in closing, I want to post a video of one of my favorite Easter songs, "Listen to the Hammer Ring":

We've been having storms here too Margie, for the last couple of days and it's still storming today as well. Thankfully it's supposed to stop sometime tomorrow. I'm not sure about an answer yet Lorrie, but I have gotten some possible clues which I hope to do more with today. We'll see...
thanks for telling me her name, that will make it a bit easier lol. Sorry to hear about her problems though. I sure hope they find out what the problem is soon!
That's a shame your dad got sick. Elijah was sick last night with a flu bug, I'm hoping he's better today, but haven't heard yet. Hope your dad starts feeling much better today too!
The kids are planning on going to church for breakfast on Easter, and then coming here after the service. I'm not sure how it'll work, as they're planning on going to the early service right after breakfast, and if I go, I won't be able to go till the next one at 10:45... should be interesting if nothing else
Well, I've got to run and answer some private messages and then get busy.

Thank you, Cindy, for the prayers and comments. I hope Elijah is much better today also, and that nobody else gets it.
I talked to my parents awhile ago and Daddy sounds pretty good. They think it's from the pollen & allergies, so hopefully it's nothing serious but it does make a person miserable!
Praying that God will make the financial "clues" turn into answers for you!
What are you planning for Easter lunch? (This question is for everybody.) I can't decide what to fix and don't want to do a ham; John's BP has been a little elevated and the saltiness of a ham wouldn't help, for sure.

Good day, thanks for posting the lovely video Leigh. I hope you can see your parents this week, how comforting it is to visit with ones parents, I miss my parents. My mother did not believe in God, but my dad did. Hi Margie, I hope the state of TX get a break from having bad weather. I hope you can go to church on Easter Sunday Cindy.
We will have communion here, and as far as food goes it is always a special diet for me and I have Ron half on that diet also. I have soup cooking on the stove in the shed right now. I made a large pot early this morning, and I will freeze most of it. I'll be back I need to run and check on that right now. Vegetable soup is done, I turned it off, I will let it sit there for a hour to cool. The heels of my feet feel better since I bought plantar fascia orthotic supports for my shoes, I like earth spirit shoes to wear. ttyl, saying prayers for FH members and also their family members.

(((Anna))), thank you for the kind words and prayers for all of us. I am sure you must miss your parents. I'm so grateful to have had mine for 50 years now and cannot imagine life without them. Poor John lost his father when he was only seven years old... on Mother's Day of all days, so he doesn't even remember what it's like to have a daddy. And on that sad subject, I just updated Kel's prayer thread (by her request via a text message) that her father-in-law passed away yesterday. Please keep David and family in your prayers for comfort.
