I want to let you know I just read this so as it's almost midnight, I will work on it tomorrow. As always thank you. I also am so wanting to read all of your latest post about the plethora of false teachings ( I only read a bit of it and right away I think I am in trouble.) I know I need to reply there and not here, so I am anxious to finish reading it tomorrow and ask two questions....so I will be busy.

Eva, I hope you realize that I do want you to participate, I just can't have you always behind. So if you'll come and do this with us, we would love to have you!
Barbara and Eva, OK, here's the next one: Does the earth abide forever or not? The first two scriptures says it does, and the last two says it doesn't. Which is true or are both true? Is this a contradiction or does it just seem to be one? (Psalm 104:5)--"He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever." (Ecclesiastes 1:4)--"A generation goes and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever." (Isaiah 65:17)--"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind." (2 Peter 3:10)--"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up." The only hint I'll give you is that this again is all about context..... Have fun! Just copying my previous post in case Eva stops by....I want to let you know I just read this so as it's almost midnight, I will work on it tomorrow. As always thank you. Ι believe that in the first two verses it is talking about something different than the 3rd and the 4th. In Ecclesiastes it says that everything someone can create on earth is temporary, our lives are temporary, its no use to seek material things because you will not live forever. I think that the writer of the book (was he Solomon?) wanted to emphasize on this. "but the earth remains forever", I think this means that the earth will be here after you leave this temporary life, not that it will not be destroyed. Psalm 104 talks about how great the creation is, and how wise God made everything. I thing in 104:5 it says that He created the earth in a stable way, that nobody and nothing can destroy it , unless it is His will. In Isaiah and Peter , the Bible talks about what will happen to earth after the second coming of the Lord.

I have my thoughts in notes having read the verses and in context but as I am fading away tired, if I tried to write now, it would prob be a worse jumble than my usual first attempt...
so I will try to get my thoughts put together more coherently tomorrow...
so Eva came in a timely manner, and I am slacking.... sorry.

They sound like they contradict themselves but they really don't because the context is different in them! In both Ecclesiastes and Psalms, the writers are seeing the earth lasting forever from a human's point of view. In Isaiah and 2 Peter though, the writer is talking about the earth from God's point of view.

The first 2 scriptures are from a human perspective and the 2nd two from God's. What was true for sinful man in the past, is true for the future but is not a promise for eternity. Man is only passing thru and there has always been a constant and ever flowing succession of sinful generation after sinful generation of men. psalm 104:5 Points out than many things (such as floods, meteors, earthquakes etc ) do damage to the earth but does not destroy it.....until the time that God will, because of sin. however in the next two scriptures we are looking at it from a different perspective and we look forward with joy to a new Heaven and a new Earth ( where there will be no more sin, sorrow, suffering etc.) true peace and love ( no more killing). Roman 8:22 tells us that even the Creation has been groaning for the renewal, right up to this present time! 2 Peter 3:18 says the world will be destroyed (perhaps in the near future, relatively speaking?) by fire God has been very long suffering with man but a time is coming when suddenly and unexpectedly ( for non believers) eternal judgement day will come and the earth will dissolve. Our world was only sin free for a time in the garden of Eden but after the Fall everything in Creation has been effected by sin. God can only allow it for so long and then we will have a sin free world again. If I messed up please forgive me last night was the third night in a row with no sleep at all so I may be a bit sleep deprived and not thinking clearly.

I have a feeling though that you're not going to like our next project, but I think that it's something I should have done a very long time ago. I just always assumed you'd each do it on your own. Now though, I have no excuse because you've told me numerous times that you don't do it. Therefore, because I love you and want the best for you, I want to set up a plan to hold us accountable for reading God's Word with Him every single day. It doesn't matter how much or how little you read; what matters is that you DO spend some time in His Word with Him every single day. It would be best for you to set up a schedule for yourself so that you're doing it at approximately the same time every day; or the same time on week days and a different time on weekends, but the point is that you have some kind of schedule that you follow so you can get into a routine. What I want you to do now then is to set up that schedule after asking the Lord to help you do so, tell me what your schedule is and then each day we will post what scriptures we've read with Him that day. OK, ready, set GO!
