Well we attack them houritis probably in overnight cycles I didn' get a chance to now break the story UKMTO: Report of missile fired at vessel in Red Sea near Yemen Earlier we brought you the report that the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations agency was investigating an incident in the Red Sea near Yemen (see 15.31). In what appears to be an update to that incident, the agency says it received a report of a missile being fired towards a vessel roughly 90 nautical miles southeast of Aden. The missile landed in the water around 400 to 500 metres away and was being followed by three small craft, the UKMTO said. No injuries or damage were sustained, and the agency said "further investigation" was ongoing. Pentagon: Strikes are not part of Israel-Hamas conflict The Pentagon has insisted that strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen are not part of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. Press secretary Major General Patrick Ryder told CBS News that the "targeted" strikes were specifically aimed at disrupting the rebel group and stopping its attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. "You have the Houthi rebels that are conducting industry attacks against international shipping - over 50 countries have been affected by this, affecting the economic prosperity of multiple nations. So this is not part of the Israel-Hamas conflict," he told the network. Maj Gen Ryder earlier told CNN that the US-UK strikes had "good effects" and that both militaries would continue to monitor the situation for retaliatory strikes. He added there were no plans to send US troops to the region. "We will continue to monitor and as the president and [defence] secretary Austin have said, we will continue to take necessary action." The press secretary reiterated that the military action was distinct from what is happening in Gaza. news.sky.com/story/middle-east-crisis-us-uk-launch-strikes-houthi-targets-israel-gaza-hamas-12978800"No one wants to see a wider regional conflict. But again, we also cannot allow for this kind of dangerous, reckless behaviour," he said.

Here more report about it Britain and America launch massive airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen British jets based in Cyprus targeted Houthi missile and drone facilities after weeks of threats to shipping in the Red Sea. Britain and America launched massive airstrikes against more than a dozen sites used by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen overnight. The action involved warship and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles, and fighter jets, officials confirmed. Britain's military said its destroyer in the region HMS Diamond conducted a "carefully coordi nated strike to reduce the Houthis' capability to violate international law" after they damaged a number of merchant ships, and targeted military vessels, in recent weeks. www.euronews.com/2024/01/12/britain-and-america-launch-massive-airstrikes-against-houthi-targets-in-yemen

Still going down US military hits more than 60 targets in Yemen Meanwhile the US military says it struck more than 60 targets at 16 sites in Yemen, including “command-and-control nodes, munitions depots, launching systems, production facilities and air defence radar systems.” President Joe Biden said the strikes were meant to demonstrate that the US and its allies “will not tolerate” the militant group’s ceaseless attacks on the Red Sea. And he said they only made the move after attempts at diplomatic negotiations and careful deliberation. “These strikes are in direct response to unprecedented Houthi attacks against international maritime vessels in the Red Sea - including the use of anti-ship ballistic missiles for the first time in history,” Biden said in a statement. Explosions heard in Yemen's capital Associated Press journalists in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, heard four explosions early Friday local time. Two residents of Hodieda, Amin Ali Saleh and Hani Ahmed, said they heard five strong explosions hitting the western port area of the city, which lies on the Red Sea and is the largest port city controlled by the Houthis. Eyewitnesses who spoke with the AP also said they saw strikes in Taiz and Dhamar, cities south of Sanaa. The strikes marked the first international military response to what has been a persistent campaign of drone and missile attacks on commercial ships since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. The coordinated military assault comes just a week after the White House and a host of partner nations issued a final warning to the Houthis to cease the attacks or face potential military action. The warning appeared to have had at least some short-lived im www.euronews.com/2024/01/12/britain-and-america-launch-massive-airstrikes-against-houthi-targets-in-yemen

Of course they talking smack that their homeboys Israel-Hamas war: Russia, Iran decry strikes on Houthis Houthis say they will target US, UK interests after strikes Yemen's Houthis say US and British interests are "legitimate targets" for their forces after a series of strikes overnight. The Iran-backed rebels — who control most of Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa — issued a statement from their Supreme Political Council. "All American-British interests have become legitimate targets for the Yemeni armed forces in response to their direct and declared aggression against the Republic of Yemen," the statement said. "Americans and the Britons should not believe they will escape punishment of our valiant armed forces. The aggressors' joy will not be for long," it added. While the pre-dawn strikes on dozens of targets were carried out with support from the Netherlands, Canada, Bahrain and Australia, the Houthi statement did not name these countries. Since the war between Israel and Hamas began in October 2023, the Houthis have repeatedly attacked ships in the Red Sea that it claims to have connections to Israel, although very often those supposed connections are tangential at best. UK PM believes airstrikes will disrupt Houthi attacks on shipping British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says he believes airstrikes by Britain and the US on Houthi military targets in Yemen will undermine the Iran-backed group's ability to launch attacks on marine traffic or Israel. "We've carried out a series of strikes together with allies, which will, we believe, degrade and disrupt the capability. The types of things that we've targeted are launch sites for missiles and for drones," Sunak told reporters while on a visit to Ukraine. "Initial indications are that those strikes have been successful... Our aim is very clear, it's to de-escalate tensions and restore stability to the region," he added. www.dw.com/en/israel-hamas-war-russia-iran-decry-strikes-on-houthis/live-67959430

Well you guys start it DUH! Houthi spokesman says 5 dead in US-UK airstrikes, vows response A spokesman for Yemen's Houthi insurgent group has vowed to respond to airstrikes against it by the United States and the United Kingdom. The militia said five fighters were killed in the predawn attacks on several Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa. Another six fighters were injured. "The American and British enemy bears full responsibility for its criminal aggression against our Yemeni people," Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement. "It will not pass unanswered and without punishment." Saree said there had been 73 strikes in total, across five regions. He promised that the Houthi militia would "not hesitate to target sources of threat and all hostile targets on the ground and in the sea." www.dw.com/en/israel-hamas-war-russia-iran-decry-strikes-on-houthis/live-67959430

I think this going be big story this weekend Gulf Arab states on high alert amid Red Sea Houthi attacks As the Israel-Hamas war triggers attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels against vessels in the Red Sea, Arab Gulf states that for years were embroiled in a deadly war with the Houthis are now on high alert. Saudi Arabia on Thursday called for restraint after the United States and the United Kingdom launched strikes against multiple Houthi targets in Yemen, killing five people and wounding six others, according to a Houthi official. In a statement, Riyadh on Thursday expressed concern over the strikes in Yemen and called for "restraint and avoiding escalation in light of the events the region is witnessing.” The oil-rich monarchy, along with neighboring United Arab Emirates, may be caught in a difficult position. Both states were once the targets of attacks in 2019 and 2022, respectively, blamed on either Iran or its Houthi proxy in Yemen. OH Hamas are going be jealous Houthis are 'not interested in Palestine,' rather in a spotlight for their own cause: analyst Ian Ralby, a non-resident senior fellow at the Center for Maritime Strategy, told DW that the current escalation in the Red Sea is exactly what the Houthis have been waiting for for about 10 years. He said that the Houthis had long held the narrative that the war in Yemen was actually about fighting the US and the UK. "And now that they have actually experienced the force of the US and the UK, they are going to be able to embolden themselves further," Ralby said. He argued that the militants who control much of Yemen and the capital Sanaa had been opportunistic in seizing on the conflict in Gaza as a means of garnering more international and regional attention for their actions than is typically dedicated to the conflict in Yemen — which has ground on for almost a decade now. "They are not interested in Palestine, except insofar as it gives them a reason to fight. They are very opportunistic in how they've jumped on the Israel-Gaza situatio www.dw.com/en/israel-hamas-war-russia-iran-decry-strikes-on-houthis/live-67959430

Second night OOP we did it again US military strikes another Houthi target in Yemen despite UN requests The US military carried out another strike on a Houthi-controlled site in Yemen early Saturday, targeting a location which they considered to pose a threat to commercial vessels in the Red Sea. This action followed a series of airstrikes by the US and Britain against Houthi rebels on Thursday. UN Secretary General António Guterres urged all sides "not to escalate the situation even more" after initial strikes, which, hit 28 locations and over 60 targets, with President Joe Biden warning of the possibility of further strikes against the Houthis. The decision to strike again came after the US Navy issued a warning on Friday, advising American-flagged vessels to avoid specified areas in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden for the next 72 hours following the initial airstrikes. The Houthis had vowed retaliation, escalating tensio www.euronews.com/2024/01/13/us-military-strikes-another-houthi-target-in-yemen-despite-un-requests
