WHOA DUDE! Israeli jet hits Lebanon Israel has struck a number of targets in southern Lebanon, following rocket attacks by Hezbollah earlier on Saturday. The Israeli Defence Force shared footage of several strikes on X, hitting a mix of buildings and rural sites. It said a "terrorist squad, launch site, military buildings and terrorist infrastructure" were targeted. Hezbollah fires rockets at Israel Lebanon’s Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets at northern Israel on Saturday, raising the spectre of regional conflict. The Shiite militant and political group warned the barrage was its "initial response" to the suspected Israeli strike on a top Hamas leader in Beirut earlier this week. Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed to retaliate for the killing of Saleh Arouri, the deputy political leader of Hamas, saying that doing nothing would make Lebanon vulnerable to Israeli attack. Nasrallah appeared to be making the case for a response to the Lebanese public, even at the risk of escalating the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel. However, he did not indicate how or when the militants would act. www.euronews.com/2024/01/06/un-warns-that-gaza-has-become-uninhabitable

Here more to the story I think Hezollah get frisky with their hands Israel-Hamas war: IDF, Hezbollah fire across Lebanon border Hezbollah reports biggest rocket barrage against Israel since October 7 The Lebanese Shiite militia group Hezbollah said on Saturday that it had fired a total of 62 rockets across the border to Israel the previous day. The group called the massive wave of strikes its "first reaction" to the killing of a senior Hamas official in Beirut on Tuesday, for which it says Israel was to blame. The Israeli military responded to the rockets with fighter jets and shelling. Israel has demanded Hezbollah leave the area close to the Israeli border and warned it would use military means if necessary. The increasing intensity of the conflict in Lebanon has fed concerns that the war in Gaza could spread across the region. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell was in Lebanon on Tuesday and called for an end to the escalation. "It is imperative to avoid regional escalation in the Middle East. It is absolutely necessary to avoid Lebanon being dragged into a regional conflict," Borrell said during a press conference in Beirut with Lebanon's foreign minister. www.dw.com/en/israel-hamas-war-idf-hezbollah-fire-across-lebanon-border/live-67904902
