These hard core people that dont' give rat you know what The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem led a Christmas procession to the city of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank on Sunday. The procession was much smaller than previous years, with Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa only being accompanied by some Franciscan monks and a handful of other believers. Pizzaballa is the highest representative of the Catholic Church in Israel, Jordan, the Palestinian territories, and Cyprus. Bethlehem is usually visited by tens of thousands of international pilgrims around Christmas. This year there have been hardly any arrivals. Tourism accounts for 70% of the West Bank town's economy, most of which is seasonal and related to Christmas pilgrimage. Local officials say over 70 hotels in Bethlehem have been forced to close, leaving thousands unemployed. www.dw.com/en/bethlehem-small-christmas-procession-held-despite-gaza-war/a-67814777

Here update apparently they can cancel Christmas celebration sadly to report Bethlehem cancels all Christmas festivities in solidarity with the people of Gaza All Christmas festivities have been cancelled in Bethlehem in the West Bank to show solidarity towards the people of Gaza. Bethlehem, traditionally known for its joyous and light-filled Christmas celebrations, is taking a different approach this year. In solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, the municipality of Bethlehem has organised an artwork called "Nativity under the Rubble" in Manger Square where a decorated Christmas tree usually stands. The event was inaugurated by Rula Maayah, the Palestinian Minister of Tourism, and Hana Hananiyeh, the Mayor of Bethlehem, on Saturday night. www.euronews.com/2023/12/24/bethlehem-cancels-all-christmas-festivities-in-solidarity-with-the-people-of-gaza
