I am not wiling to be lukewarm I need to know how to be onfire for God once again. The wonderful thing about our God is that He always tells us how to do the things He wants us to do. And in this case, He does so right after telling that church they are lukewarm. Let's look at it together ok?
“So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:16–20)
So what is He telling us we need to do if we're lukewarm? First, we need to realize that there's a problem, which of course, you already have. He tells us to realize that we're wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. The word "wretched" means that we're off balance, and going through hardships (likely due to being off balance). It means were' miserable and need help desperately, whether we realize it or not. So, if we need help, that simply means we need to pray and ask the Lord for His help getting back on the right path. Along with asking Him for help, we must also ask His forgiveness for our sins and repent from them. Repent means turn away from those sins and not go back to them. Pitiful means the same thing that wretched does, so by saying this, Jesus is showing us the seriousness of our wretchedness.
Poor doesn't just mean a lack of money, it means we don't have the resources we need and so are destitute of the Christian virtues (like the fruit of the spirit) and eternal riches. It again also means we can't come by these things on our own, we need the Lord's help.
Blind and naked are easy for us to understand as God tells us over and over that Satan blinds people to the truth. When we aren't spending time with the Lord in His Word daily, we open ourselves up to being influenced by Satan. Of course any other sin does that too. Being naked simply tells us that nothing is hidden about us to God. He's completely aware of everything about us. I think He knows us even better than we know ourselves! But the good news is that the answer to all of this is simply to have a good talk with the Lord about what's going on with you; and to get into His Word daily to hear what He has to say too. He also reminds us that those whom He loves, He rebukes and disciplines. He tells us that so we can be assured that He still loves us.
We find another answer to our situation in His reply to another church: “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.” (Revelation 2:4–5) It sounds simple, but it sure works! He says to "do the things we did at first!" Remember how we felt and acted when we first realized all that Jesus did for us. Think on those things again and fall in love with Jesus all over again! He's not talking about being part of an effort to serve the homeless, (although that's certainly a wonderful thing to do!). He's speaking of going back to what we did to get to know Him better, which is generally, reading our Bible, spending time in prayer and spending time praising Him.
So when we put all of that together we're being told to confess our sin, repent of it, and go back to spending time daily in His Word with Him, praying, and spending time praising Him! He will do the rest as you've asked Him to! I'm praying too!
