Iran buys 100 Russian refueling aircraft for its air force to reach any point in the Mid East
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report July 22, 2015
In defiance of the international arms embargo, Iran last week placed an order with Moscow for a huge fleet of 100 Russian IL78 MKI tanker aircraft (NATO: Midas) for refueling its air force in mid-flight, thereby extending its range to 7,300 km. This is reported exclusively by debkafile from its military and intelligence sources. The transaction runs contrary to the terms of the nuclear accord the six world powers and Iran signed in Vienna earlier this month.
These tanker planes can simultaneously refuel six to eight warplanes. Their acquisition brings Israel, 1.200km away – as well the rest of the Middle East - within easy range of Iranian aerial bombardment. It also puts Iran’s air force ahead of Israel’s in terms of the quantity and range of its refueling capacity.
Whereas opponents of the Vienna deal have warned that Tehran will spend the billions of dollars released by sanctions relief as a bonanza for fueling its campaigns of terror in the region, it turns out that Iran’s first post-accord purchase is a heavy investment in the rearmament and upgrade of its armed forces’ aggressive capabilities.
The Israeli air force is familiar with the Russian airborne tanker from its use by the Indian air force with which Israel has close ties of cooperation. Its military engineers have also upgraded the Russian fuel tankers in service with the Uzbekistan air force.

Iran orders from China 150 J-10 fighter jets that incorporate Israeli technology
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report July 30, 2015
Iran is about to conclude a transaction with China for the purchase of the Chengdu J-10 multirole jet fighter, known in the West as the Vigorous Dragon, according to an exclusive report from debkafile’s military and intelligence sources. Beijing has agreed to sell Tehran 150 of these sophisticated jets.
While the Chinese J-10 is comparable to the US F-16, our sources report that it is virtually a replica of the Lavi, the super-fighter developed by Israel’s aerospace industry in the second half of the 80s. Israel sold China the technology, after Washington insisted on Its discontinuing the Lavi’s production. The US also objected to the sale of the Lavi’s avionics, claiming that it contained some American components.
The Chinese plane comes in two versions – the multirole single-seat J-10A and the two-seat J-10B, which serves for training, ground assaults and electronic warfare.
Iran has additionally weighing the purchase in Beijing of 250 highly-advanced Sukhoi-Su-30MK1 twinjet multirole air superiority fighters, known in the West as Flanker-H.

Russian Warships Dock In Iran for War Training
Iranian military leader: ‘Only the dead body of the American troops realizes the power of’ Iran
BY: Adam Kredo August 10, 2015
Two Russian warships have docked in northern Iran for a series of naval training exercises with the Islamic Republic, according to Persian-language reports translated by the CIA’s Open Source Center.
The two Russian ships docked in Iran’s Anzali port on Sunday and will hold “joint naval exercises during the three-day stay of the warships in Iran,” according to a Persian-language report in Iran’s state-controlled Fars News Agency.
“The [Russian] warships, Volgodonsk and Makhachkala docked in Anzali Port [near the Caspian Sea], in the fourth naval zone, on the afternoon of 9 August,” the report says.
The war exercises come just weeks after Iran and global powers inked a nuclear accord that will provide Iran with billions of dollars in sanctions relief in return for slight restrictions on the country’s nuclear program.
Russian and Iran have grown close in recent years, with delegations from each country regularly visiting one another to ink arms deals and other agreements aimed at strengthening Iran’s nuclear program.
Russia and Iran agreed earlier this year to begin construction on several new nuclear power plants. Russia has also agreed to sell Iran a controversial advanced missile defense system that can prevent attacks by Western powers.
The Russian fleet docked in Iran’s port “carrying a message of ‘peace and friendship,’” according to Iranian officials quoted by Fars. The fleet was “welcomed by Iranian naval commanders and staff.”

Iran says it will sign deal for Russian air defense system next week
By Jonathan Beck August 18, 2015
Russia will finalize a deal to send an advanced air defense system to Iran next week, Tehran’s defense minister said Tuesday as the two countries shore up ties in the wake of a historic nuclear deal.
“The text of the contract is ready and our friends will go to Russia next week to sign the contract,” Hossein Dehghan said, according to Reuters citing the Fars news agency.
Dehqan said that Russia will deliver the S-300 system after carrying out “state-of art technological changes” on the missiles, which will then be delivered to Iran, according to Iranian media.
The S-300 is an advanced system for intercepting fighter jets and is intended to protect sensitive ground facilities. It is capable of engaging several jets at the same time and is considered one of the most advanced systems of its kind in the world.
Israel sees the system as one of the hardest obstacles to overcome should it seek to attack Iran’s nuclear installations.
Russia initially agreed to sell the advanced system to Iran in 2007, but balked on the deal, saying at the time it was complying with a United Nations arms embargo.

Well, that's what happens when you make a deal with terrorists... the U.S. should not involve themselves with terrorists... when John Kerry sat down with the Iranians.. and others.. to make a deal... he was making a deal with the devil....

Unveiling new missile, Rouhani says Iran will obtain ‘any weapons we need’
By Times of Israel staff August 22, 2015
Iran on Saturday unveiled a new surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a 500-kilometer (310 miles) range, saying military might was a precondition for peace and effective diplomacy.
The Fateh 313 missile was unveiled during a ceremony marking the anniversary of Iran’s military industry, attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
The military industry called the solid-fuel missile one of the most exact ever manufactured, boasting that it has successfully hit multiple targets with great precision, Israel’s Walla website reported.
“We will buy, sell and develop any weapons we need and we will not ask for permission or abide by any resolution for that,” Rouhani said in a speech at the ceremony, which was broadcast live on state television, according to Reuters.
“We can negotiate with other countries only when we are powerful. If a country does not have power and independence, it cannot seek real peace,” the president said.

Russia to help Iran build own satellite observation systems
25 Aug, 2015 RTNews
Two Russian space companies have signed a cooperation agreement with an Iranian corporation, clearing the way for the creation of an Iranian satellite observation system.
According to the signed agreement, Russian companies will help Iran to create its own remote-sensing system which is used for gathering information about the Earth's surface, atmosphere and oceans.
Russian company NPK BARL will be responsible for building and adapting the system’s ground infrastructure, while another Russian company, VNIIEM, is tasked with building and launching the satellites. Iran’s Bonyan Danesh Shargh will be the operating company.
“The pre-contractual arrangement covers the development of an earth remote-sensing system based on an upgraded version of the Kanopus-V1 (Canopus-B) observation satellite,” Russia’s VNIIEM Corporation CEO Leonid Makridenko said, as cited by the RIA Novosti news agency.
"The launch on a Russian Soyuz carrier rocket is tentatively scheduled for 2018," he added.
