This is what many women will think is the best ( or they may be thinking it's their: 'only' and 'best') option.
And seven women will take hold of one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; take away our reproach!” Isaiah 4:1
Since men will be in such a super short supply, ( due to war etc.) many women will opt for this. However, this ratio, has never been a good one for women. Rather, God gives the 'best' ( and ONLY moral, God pleasing, and spiritually correct) ratio:
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh Genesis 2:24
I notice that God did not say, the man will leave his parents in order to have 7 wives... nor did it say , in order for him to be married to another man, or to a man who 'thinks' he is a woman.
But I also see that 'perhaps' (?) I am seeing what might be the beginning of feminism, ( although in a way, I can even speculate that Eve may have been the first ever feminist?)
So, in the sense, that these woman, do not suggest, the man ought to work to support them, nooo... they will be self supporting!
But because the culture back then, did not look kindly on woman without a husband or children, they were willing that the man have 6 other 'wives' just so long as the reproach and scorn, of being single and childless was removed.
Before, these woman, could most likely get their man with some seductive flirting, and outward clothing, hairdo etc.!
But now, they are reduced to begging, bargaining, just asking for their 'name' in marriage. for also some 'protection, peace, offspring, and perhaps some companionship, that will have to be shared.
This was fulfilled during the Babylonian captivity but also will be in the future of the tribulation!
Since this verse was seemingly, is more related to chapter 3, tomorrow I will be studying verse 2 and on, which have to do with: 'that day'.

In that day the Branch of Yahweh will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth will be the pride and the honor of those of Israel who escape. Isaiah 4:2
When is 'that day'? It is determined by the context... sometimes soon ( within a few hundred years... at most) or, the far distant future, even all the way to the Millennial reign of Jesus.
So I think the context ( for the timing of 'that day') is the next 4 words:
the Branch of Yahweh which is a title for the Messiah, (Jesus).
In any case, 'beautiful and glorious' is the opposite of what we have just been reading about, where nothing and nobody ( not even the women), we 'beautiful'... never mind, 'glorious'!
However, I think, we are heading at warp speed, to the same lack of beauty, and glory in America, but also, over the whole world!
And ...while that is incredibly sad to me.. it also points to the truth of scripture!
Which furthermore means, the rapture, tribulation and... Jesus glorious, beautiful millennial reign is ever so much closer!
Therefore, I think the ' fruit of the earth' points to 'spiritual fruit' that comes along with Jesus being in charge.
those of Israel who escape...
Israel always has a remnant of true believers!
It will be that he who remains in Zion and is left in Jerusalem will be called holy— everyone who is written down for life in Jerusalem. Isaiah 4:3
The repentant, believing, born again Jews. Those that are called holy ( set apart). Their names have been written down for life.
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. Revelation 20:12
Since I keep falling asleep as I am writing.... Done for Today

4 When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and rinsed away the bloodshed of Jerusalem from her midst, by the spirit of judgment and the spirit of burning Isaiah 4:4
This seems to be in the future, ( I am thinking it will be during the millennium).
Who would not want their filth washed away? Remembering some of their 'issues' ( the women) were like: pride, haughtiness, vanity, hardhearted, material only oriented, flitting for gain, low morality, etc etc. This is a partial list of how they were ( and frankly, how people are today)
Another part of their problem, was they did not even realize or seem to care, how evil they were, and like today, in their pride, they saw themselves as 'pure'.
There is a kind who is pure in his own eyes, Yet is not washed from his filthiness. Proverbs 30:12
Of course, It was not just the women, it applied to all ( men included, but there were not as many men in the end).
And... they could not wash or clean themselves, it was the Lord who will clean them ( as He must be the one, to clean us also!).
God judges evil, and is not happy with evil, He must burn it away.
That reminded me of Jesus paying an eternity in Hell for me.
And then:
then Yahweh will create over the whole area of Mount Zion and over her convocation a cloud by day, even smoke, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy. Isaiah 4:5
After God cleans the people, He will 'create' a canopy...which gives the idea of protection. (and perhaps the marriage canopy)?
The guiding of the people, is pointed to: by the similarity to the days, when they were wandering with Moses, and God gave them all manner of protection and provisions.
Furthermore
And there will be a booth to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and a hiding place from the storm and the rain. Isaiah 4:6
This seems to suggest to me, that 'weather' will continue in the millennium, still, God makes provision for comfort even if it storms and rains.

Let me sing now for my well-beloved A song of my beloved concerning His vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard on a fertile hill. Isaiah 5:1
God speaks of his love for Israel. Isaiah sings for God. Songs 'can' be a great way to convey deep spiritual, and theological messages.
( songs can also be used in a completely opposite and evil way...)
But this song, would be one speaking God's truth).
I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, To You, O Lord, I will sing praises. Psalm 101:1
When reading Isaiah, I am reminded of the saying: 'history repeats itself'! and I see immorality, unfaithfulness, rebellion etc. of Israel, repeated over and over, throughout history, right up to this very day.
Our country/nation USA, America, started out, in many ways, like Israel. ( There are some outstanding differences, but also some real parallels)
God, and His Word were for the most part, were greatly esteemed, in the beginning of our country.
today... hardly at all!
And for many people, in our nation, Christians, the Bible, Jesus, God, morality etc. is 'hated' and rebelled against!
Well, this 'song' is going to be a very very sad song. The beloved, the owner of the vineyard, does everything possible to have a fruitful vineyard, but in the end... reaping nothing but sour berries/grapes!
He dug it all around, removed its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it And also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He hoped for it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones. Isaiah 5:2
The first effort was to clean out a myriad of stones... a time consuming and backbreaking job! The idea here ( or at least perhaps one of them) is the idea of a 'type' of transformation... removing the useless, Unproductive, valueless, etc.
Not to mention, He had to dig! Digging is also, not an easy job, it takes a lot of strength and effort!
( haha for some weird reason... maybe the fact I am getting sleepy again .....sigh! I thought to myself: bodybuilders, could be put to better use( instead of just admiring their muscles), helping little old ladies like me, remove stones and dig in gardens!... I know , totally off topic, but still...LOL)
Back on topic: Jesus referred to this passage:
Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard and put a wall around it and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and rented it out to vine-growers and went on a journey. Matthew 21:33
note: Jesus calls it a 'parable'.
Since, I am again falling asleep, I will speak more on this verse tomorrow...Lord willing.

I like what you said about bodybuilders LOL. That was perfect!
I enjoyed all of what you've written. Boy, if you can do this when you're so tired, I can't imagine how fantastic it will be when you're wide awake! But then again, maybe the Holy Spirit uses the tiredness so the He can inspire you easier, as sometimes we tend to question what He tells us. I don't know how to explain what I mean. Maybe if I explain how I write, it will help.... Whenever I write anything, I think it's me writing it. It's only later, after I'm done, when I read what I've written (sometimes right after writing it, sometimes days later) that I'm astounded by what I've said and realize there's no way I could have written it, only the Holy Spirit could have. Now that's not true of everything I write, much is just from me, but when it's the Holy Spirit, it really shows, at least to me!

I 'think' that is true for me at times also. I try to remember to ask God to help me write, but there are days when I forget....but I am getting better and better at remembering.
But either way, I also tend to think 'I' alone am writing...but then, I realize, that points went together way better than I planned and I do think that God the Holy spirit has helped me.
I remember once when my mom ( adopted mom) was visiting us, and Hossanah, our daughter ( who was maybe somewhere between 13-15...) had some young guy who came over to see her.
My mom gave him a once over, look ( I don't think she trusted his interest in our daughter)
Soooo she 'seemed' to have made a decision, to put his muscles to use, and tire him totally out at the same time
As she first flattered him by saying something like: "You look like a nice strong young man" :) ( and he ate that compliment up haha)
"I wonder if you could help me for a few minutes"?
And wanting to show off, he readily agreed! :)
Smart mom, because later ( after helping my mom for a rather long and strenuous time), our daughter went for a very very short walk with him, on the city trail behind our place....
but it seems he was a 'bit' tired, and did not 'hang' with her for longer than 5 minutes.
Come to think of it, I don't think we ever saw him again!

I did not quite finish Isaiah 5:2, so here is a bit more on it.
He dug it all around, removed its stones, And planted it with he choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it And also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He hoped for it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones. Isaiah 5:2
Another passage about God and the vine is Psalm 80 and here are some verses, first ,(as I already talked about), clearing the ground:
You cleared the ground before it, And it took deep root and filled the land. 10 The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its boughs. Psalm 80:9,10
God cherished and nurtured it. He built a tower to protect it from animals and thieves!
However, in psalm 80:
"12.....all who pass that way pick its fruit? 13 A boar from the forest eats it away And whatever moves in the field feeds on it. psalm 80:12,13
God hedge/tower was, in order to isolate Israel, from pagan nations, that would harm and corrupt them.
Yet I planted you a choice vine, A completely faithful seed. How then have you turned yourself before Me Into the degenerate shoots of a foreign vine? Jeremiah 2:21
And then, God built a vat, a wine press, in expectation of receiving good grapes: Things like: love, thankfulness, obedience, worship...
Instead, the vine produced, wild worthless unproductive, unprofitable grapes, of things like:
rebellious, hateful, disobedient, idol worshipers etc. A heartbreaking result, when they had been given, so many advantages, privileges, and opportunities, with so much care and love lavished on them!
They had become foul smelling, poisonous, filled with bitterness, and death. It was a like a cancer that could not be cured, so the patient died.
It sounds a lot like America today ( in my opinion)! We are a dying nation, filled with dying degenerate depraved, rebellious people.
I do not suggest that parents don't make some very bad mistakes with their children...
but some parents, just grieve terribly, and cannot be comforted, they take ALL the blame for how their rebellious children turned out! I for one often fall in that category, but it might behoove some parents (and me) to notice that God: THE best parent ever... also got a bunch of rebels!
The next verse shifts to a courtroom!
3 “So now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Please judge between Me and My vineyard. What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I hoped for it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones? Isaiah 5:3,4
God brings the charge: that despite doing everything possible, the only harvest was: wild, bitter, fruitless grapes.
Thus God asks a rhetorical question: What more could I have done?
I will work more on this tommorrow, again sleep is winning. I think, at least, in a small part, the cold cold weather pushes me to 'hibernate' haha Of course, this happens in the middle of a warm summer day also, ( then it becomes the need for a siesta!)

So onto the courtroom scene:
What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I hoped for it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?
God did everything, so they were ( as are all unbelievers), with out excuse.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20
Is it God's fault? Could He have done anything else? Who is at fault...God or humans?
Clearly, the failure was in the vine. God removed stones, we were strips from the true vine... Here is a hint:
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing John 15:5
God built a tower of protection and a winepress.
The verdict is foregone.
So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground. Isaiah 5:5
God pronounces a curse on Israel. (But our country has also produced sour worthless berries, something to consider when we understand, God pronounced judgment on Israel.
God said He will remove His provision and protection, seeing as it has not helped in producing a godly outcome.
But that is not all:
I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds to rain no rain on it.” Isaiah 5:6

This is the result of ungratefulness, ingratitude, and unthankfulness! They were already close to being completely barren of fruit, without God's attention to prune and hoe, and no rain from God, would be the final nail in the coffin, and would would seal it.

I love the story about what your mom did, that was great! So was what you wrote about your Bible study!
About how some mom's get depressed thinking they're at fault for how their kids turned out, that's something that is actually a sin because it's basically saying that the children didn't have free will to make their own decisions about everything. Sometimes parents of children who've been sexually abused think that's a reason to beat themselves up since the kids couldn't help what happened to them, but again, that's not true. Let me share a true story as an example:
You know my kids were sexually abused when they were just babies and toddlers. Some of them still haven't gotten over it and are still living as victims. But they had a friend who was just a couple of years older than they were. She was sexually molested by her father for as long as she could remember until she was a teenager. At that point she confronted her dad and with a pastor's help got him to stop. She got married and had children and took her children over to see her parents every weekend. She never left them alone with her father, but she never made it obvious either. She loved her father and her mother. She told me she'd forgiven her father and had told him so, and she treated him the way Jesus would have. It was amazing to see. Sadly, I don't think my kids were aware of that about her as she didn't go around telling other people. She only told me because I'd told her what had happened to my kids.
My point is, she made the decision of how she was going to deal with the abuse, and dealt with it in the best way possible. My kids decided to deal with it the worlds way, which is to blame and hate and be a victim. I didn't do that to them. I told them about Jesus, it's up to them to accept the gospel or not. (which is another thing parents often beat themselves up about). No matter what the issue is, our children choose what they're going to do, what they're going to say, how they're going to act, etc. And as far as spiritual issues go, only God can cause them to be saved, we can't. So to beat ourselves up over that is again a sin, since we can't save anyone or make anyone interested unless God has made them open to the Gospel. All we can do is pray for them. I pray for your family and mine that they'll be saved and that they will stop being victims and be the victors that Jesus makes us over all the evil in this world.
I know you're aware of all of this stuff, I just wrote it for those who aren't aware of it.

I know you wrote about that previously, but it still was great to hear it again! Thank you!!!!!
About being abused, I too played the victim card, for years and years! And sometimes, I still have to take those thoughts captive!
( well especially about having been severely beaten)
the foster man said, his purpose was to kill me, when the CPS woman had brought me, immediately to what would become my adopted parents.... the first night in their home. my adopted mom, had my adopted dad come and see bruises etc.
(I have asked God to forgive, the foster man, his wife, and to have healed their daughter) and.....
to help me NOT play the victim card!!
However, not just him, but also, my biological father, who for whatever reason, did not take responsibility for raising and/or loving me.
And tho, I took responsibility for my sexual sins as a young woman in college ( and asked for God's forgiveness), I also asked God to forgive the young men ( some that were sexually abusive to me, but I allowed it).
It is so easy to take the victim card.... but It does not help in any way! But also, perhaps worse, to then think, therefore: "I am THE WORST sinner ever!"
Satan's 'hippy' lies back than especially of: "FREE LOVE" which was neither 'FREE'.... nor was it 'LOVE'
Rather... it was a lot of young women being: unpaid, drug taking, prostitutes!
But, in a way, taking ALL the responsibility for one's children's sins and them not being saved... is almost harder to shake ( them young ado! ( and yes, I agree.... it is another sin that has to be repented of.
Still it is hard to realize, that even IF... we had been THE best parents ever, were born again Christians, and read the Bible to our children every day, home schooled them.... etc. etc. etc.
They still, might not have 'chosen' to be believers!
Furthermore, we don't know, but that, even tho they are not believers 'NOW',
God might use that in the future, for when they do become believers...
that their unbelief days, may be used to witness to other unbelievers ( maybe during the tribulation)...

You know, I 'knew' that about you, like forever... but I did not 'know' it!
I mean, somehow today, it really really hit me.... she grew up with an unbelieving mom!!!!!!!
And... Cindy is one of the strongest believers I know.
the unbelieving mom raised ( without having anything to do with it..... and most likely wanted you to go her way, because she was so into it, and thought it a fine way to be...
But instead, God said: No she is mine! What a wonderful encouragement for believers tho, with unbelieving children
God could still say to them, You are mine!
By the way, I have not posted for 4 days now.... I had 2 nights of absolute zero sleep and one night of almost 3 hours and last night 8 hours...but broken up ( with bathroom calls etc.)
And I am falling asleep at the computer a LOT!!!
and having migraine aruas ( that happens when I go for toooo long without sleep.) and.... Leonard told me I was even 'seeing' things
I do remember I 'thought' I saw copper ( the damage cat) in my window...
there is a window box outside my window that Clone and Bob use to get my attention to come back in.
I was certain at first...I saw Clone and opened the door to let her in... only. she waltz in from the other room!
I would love to believe it was Copper...
but the last I saw him... about a week ago, he was soaking wet ( rainning) and skin and bones and it went down to 27 degrees that night!!!
and has been below freezing almost every night since
and we have NOT actually seen him in a week
So.....:( :( :(
I 'suppose' there is an off hand chance he is still alive. but the chance is NOT good!
And.
I guess I was just seeing things due to lack of sleep probably because the cat has been on my mind
I so wanted to eventually lure him in the house and give him a lot of petting, food, warmth and love
But then, Jesus could do all that and more!
If.... I sleep tonight, I will make every effort to do my Bible study again!!!!!!!! But with arua still happening and unstableness of walk etc. upset stomach etc etc. due to lack of sleep I don't think that is the best state to be in for writing my Bible study out?

Just a very very brief start on verse 7
For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel And the men of Judah His delightful plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress. Isaiah 5:7
So we get an absolutely clear definition of who the vineyard is A) It belongs to the Lord B) it is the house of Israel... and the House of Judah ( both the northern and Southern kingdoms)
This must have been a shock to most of the people!
God was looking and waiting expectantly for justice but that is NOT what He got!

A bit more on verse 7
For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel And the men of Judah His delightful plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress. Isaiah 5:7
God was looking for justice but instead violence and oppression... the exact opposite of what looked for.
Because this right kind of living only comes by believing in the Lord!
Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness. Genesis 15:6
They did finally cry for help, but too little too late as the saying goes.
Now begins the 'woes' to the wicked: First woe:
Woe to those who add house to house and join field to field, Until there is no more room, So that you have to live alone in the midst of the land! Isaiah 5:8
Woe is like a word used at a funeral after a death, or announcing doom...some examples:
Woe to the bloody city, completely full of lies and pillage; Her prey never departs. Nahum 3:1
And
Woe to those who scheme iniquity, Who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, For it is in the power of their hands. Micah 2:1
and
“Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house To put his nest on high, To be delivered from the hand of calamity! Habakkuk 2:9
How horrible the calamity will be!
Those who added house to house were getting richer, while the poor were getting poorer... That sounds familiar!
They covet fields and then seize them, And houses, and take them away. They rob a man and his house, A man and his inheritance. Micah 2:2
it was not the real estate endeavors exactly.. the problem was that they exploited the poor.
We need to guard our hearts, lest we be set on adopting the world's standards, in this case, of greed!
He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity. Ecclesiastes 5:10
Money belongs to God. We can use it, but not let it be our master and we it's slave.

The 2nd Woe is to the drunkard, alcoholic
11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink, Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!
12 Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine; But they do not pay attention to the deeds of the Lord, Nor do they consider the work of His hands.
13 Therefore My people go into exile for their lack of knowledge; And their honorable men are famished, And their multitude is parched with thirst.
14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure; And Jerusalem’s splendor, her multitude, her din of revelry and the jubilant within her, descend into it.
15 So the common man will be humbled and the man of importance abased, The eyes of the proud also will be abased. 16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, And the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness. 17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, And strangers will eat in the waste places of the wealthy. Isaiah 5:11-17
For these folk, Alcohol is their life!
A carousing lifestyle of the rich, made possible, by stealing from the poor. They "party hardy!
They sing to the timbrel and harp And rejoice at the sound of the flute Job 21:12
It is the same lifestyle today, same motivation, lack of compassion, turning their back on God etc.
The instruments of today, may be guitars and drums, but the pleasure-filled living for self, is exactly the same today.
They say to God, ‘Depart from us! We do not even desire the knowledge of Your ways. Job 21:24
Same attitude today!
Instead, there is gaiety and gladness, Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep, Eating of meat and drinking of wine: “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.” Isaiah 22:13
However, putting God on the shelf, or trying to make Him dead, will not work in the long run.
Judgment is coming ( often in the here and now, and if not repented, in eternity future).
God can be pushed only so far...
This might happen first:
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper Romans 1:28
Sometimes we might fall prey to envying the rich, because their life seems easier but The self-centered, wealthy will not escape divine retribution!
Therefore, the 'party' will be over... Which brings to mind:
Belshazzar the king held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles, and he was drinking wine in the presence of the thousand.
2 When Belshazzar tasted the wine.. Daniel 5:1,2
Belshazzar was rich, and threw quite the party! But then.... this happened:
25 “Now this is the inscription that was written out: ‘MENĒ, MENĒ, TEKĒL, UPHARSIN.’ 26 This is the interpretation of the message: ‘MENĒ’—God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. 27 ‘TEKĒL’—you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. 28 ‘PERĒS’—your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians.” Daniel 5:25-28
They could not get enough drink down their throats ( at the cost of the poor) but something else cannot get enough down its throat either;
Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure;
and this
whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. Philippians 3:19
Judgment is the utter humiliation of sinful men! God is and has always been opposed to the proud.
God will right the wrong in His time.

Onto the 3rd Woe
18 Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes;
19 Who say, “Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; And let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near And come to pass, that we may know it!”
Sin is like dragging a very heavy load around, that would make a body builder faint!
Yet the sinners are in bondage, on the one hand, they hang onto and drag sin around but on the other hand, the sin has caught them, and enslaved them.
Sin lies to people, it says it will be fun, freedom, but instead, it will drag us all the way down, given time.
Though they are doomed, they brazenly mock, and say, come on God, show us your so-called judgment but no .... because God delays, they claim they do not know it.
(We don't see electricity, come into our homes... but we believe its there, so when we flip the switch we expect the light to come on!
However, tho God may delay for a time:
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap Galatians 6:7
yet with prideful arrogance, they demand that God prove Himself, to them!
We have a ton of such scoffing skeptics in our day, in fact, it seems to me, they are multiplying daily!
And tho they feel so intellectually superior, because they do not believe in a 'make-believe mythical 'god'..
yet, they will nevertheless, collect a bunch of gurus and the like:
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires 2 Timothy 4:3

I apologize for not being here every day, but I've been dealing with severe pain in my eyes. It finally let up some yesterday and is feeling better today too. I just hope it stays ok!
I'm glad it helped to be reminded that both of my parents were unbelievers. Some of the things my mother did to "get even with God" were horrible sins. She hated God because the Catholic church wouldn't answer any of her questions about their beliefs. They just kept saying, "you have to have faith" about everything. I don't know why she took it out on God though...I guess it was because she figured He didn't exist.
I sure hope you're getting more sleep now and that you're using your inhaler like you promised. I'm sorry you haven't seen the cat, but honestly, that cat is better off in Heaven than hanging around here anymore. From what you've said, it would be a mercy for him to have been free from his earthly body.
Your Bible studies have been really good. It seems the more I learn about sin from the Bible, the more thankful I am that Jesus has saved me from it, and the more I hate it when I realize that I've sinned yet again. What you said about money is so true. Most people don't realize that the Lord gives us money so we can help others, not so we can do more for ourselves. Certainly He wants us to pay our bills. He tells us to do so in His Word. But we are to remember that the money we get, is really His and He is just loaning it to us. We will have to give an account of it if we used our money selfishly someday.
I noticed that you posted some of Isaiah on another thread... the one called "My daily Bible Study". Do you want me to lock that one so you don't make that mistake again? I moved the Isaiah posts over to this thread so they'd all be in one place and hopefully in order... I won't know myself though until I post this and look!
edited to add: Yep, looks like it worked! And I went ahead and locked the other thread and bumped up others so it wouldn't be right next to this one, as that's probably what confused you.

Yes thank you for locking it! :)
That was part of my not sleeping, no doubt...I did finally figure it out, and then copied and pasted it here, in the right place.
But I am going thru a night or two of not sleeping, and then I sleep for a few nights, and then back to no sleep.
I am so sorry about your eyes! I will pray about your eyes also.. I have been praying for your 'general' health, a lot.
Yes, I know it is better for Copper not to suffer any more. I still miss him, even tho, I never got to hold him or pet him..I don't even know why he affected me so much.
I know Jesus loved the silly cat more than me, after all his eye is on a sparrow so how much more a cat! Maybe Copper will be in Heaven, and I can pet him there :) .

I figured that's what happened. Thank you for your prayers, my eyes are feeling better finally. This is day 3 that they haven't been horrible, but I'm taking a lot of medication that helps them. It's called Pilocarpine. I sure hope I can stop taking it soon. I've never had to take so much for so long before.
Oh, could you check christian chat again? I asked about that psych test you told about, if you could give examples of some of the questions that are bad, so I can tell my daughter about it...

On to Woe number 4:
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
This is so right up to date, concerning America today!
The total opposite and perversion of God's Word!
It's no longer just rebelliously saying: I don't like God's truth or His standards, and am not going to follow them...
It is from the devil declaring God is completely wrong!
1 Indeed, has God said......
and
4 The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die! 5 For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil Genesis 3:1,4,5
In other words, the ungodly, wicked, moral relativists state categorically that God is a liar.
All to justify their behavior, in order to feel good about themselves: The: 'I did it MY way', crowd, I am Free, I am intellectually superior, I don't believe in fairy tales. etc.
Therefore whatever God, the Bible, Christian believers say: isto the wicked sinnersz: total rubbish and absolutely wrong, and the complete opposite is true. They have totally and utterly devalued virtue, and inflated evil.
They have preposterously elevated their so-called intelligence.
But God is not mocked there will be a price to be paid ( sooner... or...l ater)
He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous, Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord. Proverbs 17:15
and
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! Matthew 6:23
and
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. Galatians 6:7
They have complete and total insensitivity to moral decay, which shows their deep and dark corruption.
if you rid yourself of God's standards, then it becomes easy to change most evil ( like murdering babies and the elderly, calling men women, and women men ( you MUST believe their fiction or else... etc.)
They label sins with new names and insist, and demand, they are actually good, and not evil.
You give new labels to sin, and call the sins not only...good, but compassionate, not hateful, not ignorant, etc.
This is deceiving double speak lies!
They speak falsehood to one another; With flattering lips and with a double heart they speak Psalm 12:2
They are now blind, and are crazy!
This is so today, all over the world!

Woe number 5
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight! Isaiah 5:21
Conceited, smug, arrogant, proud, vain comes to mind...as just a few definitions. A few others: egoistical, boastful, pompous, and haughty.
This is funny in a way but expressive
An idiot will become intelligent When the foal of a wild donkey is born a man. Job 11:12
and a warning
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:7
Self flatters... but God laughs! He has infinite knowledge, and wise in their own eyes, don't even do well, as puny humans.
These are the group who say things like: You can be anything you want to be, just visualize and its done! and Be proud of yourself, is their mantra! etc.
However, the truth is:
Professing to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:22
They are all manner of self delusions going on today:
People think they are wise, because their 'wisdom' they have decided they are not the sex they were born or they so believe in evolution, so they think they are really an animal ( and you get to pick whatever animal you wish.. 'knowing' that is what you really are) or you can be whatever ethnicity or race you believe you are etc. or You can be called by whatever pronouns you pick or you can cancel whatever person or group of people, who do not bend to you wisdom etc etc etc.
We have a lot of that ( foolishness) going on today!
Instead they ought to listen to God's wisdom:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5
As sinners we all prefer to think of ourselves as highly intelligent people,
But God 'prefers' the humble.
Nevertheless, there is a way to be actually intelligent, and that is to study what the Infinite intelligence says . ( that is God, and His Word... the Bible)
Then you can say with David:
I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation. Psalm 119:99
That is one reason, why being in the Word... daily, is necessary, It will keep you from foolishness.

I was listening to a question and answer session with MacArthur and some of the other pastors at his church. They were talking about how things are today, with people calling evil things good, and God's Word evil, etc. One of the pastors took the question of "how can the majority of the people be so wrong" and "are they just deceived or something else"? As for the majority being wrong, he quoted some of the many scriptures scriptures showing that only a few will be saved, "a remnant" and not the majority. What really got my attention though was his reply to that last half, about if they're just deceived. He was so passionate about his answer which made it that much more interesting to hear. First he passionately read these verses, emphasizing the parts I'll underline: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:18–21) Then he spoke passionately about how the people who are calling God's Word evil and wrong, know that's not true, but because they love their sin and themselves more than anything or anyone else, they tell lies so they can continue to indulge themselves in their sin. He explained that God has made it plain to all that He exists. that they know God is love and truth, but they don't want truth. They want sin, so say no to God. Therefore their thinking becomes futile and their hearts are darkened and eventually God gives them over to a reprobate mine... which is just another way of saying, "to insanity" (Romans 1:26). So their talk was all about what you were just talking about so well!

Thank you Cindy! :) That was great!
John MacArthur is such a great pastor, preacher, teacher, and godly man!
It is so insane how quickly people are bowing to insanity, on so many issues, so that good is being called, evil, and evil is being called, good. So people can wallow in their sins.
It is mind boggling and it has sped up so rapidly!
