Now onto Chapter 2 of Isaiah. There are some positive upbeat promises, in chapter 2, but also, judgments.
The word which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:1
It is interesting that Isaiah mentions again, his father. It seems to me, like he really respected his dad.
It looks as if, Isaiah had a God given vision, about the future... of Judah and Jerusalem, because God keeps His promises.
It is never because they ( or we today) are so good, or so special, but because God is!
However, Isaiah speaks of the 'word', so that implies to me, Isaiah also heard, in the vision, either the voice of an angel or God, Himself, speaking to Isaiah.
This is going to be especially for Judah and Jerusalem, this is not about what will happen to the church. In other words, this does not lend itself to any type of replacement theology. God has not abandoned the Jews forever.
And thus, we see the future restoration of Israel in verse two.
Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. Isaiah 2:2
Isaiah does not give an absolute exact date, but rather he says in the last days. (when Jesus will come and establish His millennium kingdom). At that time, Israel, will repent and turn to Jesus and be obedient.
Right now Jerusalem is not the chief mountain.
But it often appears to be the chief ( or one of the chief) places for struggles conflicts, distensions disputes, chaos, as two major religions battle over the region, and the temple mount.
But in the future, all nations will stream to it ( the on going battle right up to today, In Jerusalem, will have ended when Jesus sets up His kingdom.)

And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:3
Previously all the nations had been gathered together against Jerusalem to battle, But at that time, the opposite will occur.
The people and nations will be coming to the mountain of the Lord where the King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ, will be reigning in power and glory. But sadly, the verse says: 'many', it does not say 'all' people.
The mountain, currently known as the Temple Mount, which today is under Muslim dominion, but will not be at that time in the future. The people go, because Jesus Christ Himself, and His personal teaching will be the predominant, highest, greatest, supreme attraction!
To walk in His paths are the standards of moral conduct he decrees that people ought to live by. Jesus as both God and man, is a king, and as God and man, declares sovereign laws. Therefore during the millennium as King:
And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshare and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war. Isaiah 2:4
Even in the Millennial kingdom of Christ, nations will still have disagreements with one another! There will still be sinners, and one thing sinners do best, is have conflicts. However, during that time, people will not be fearing war, with Jesus rendering decisions.
Therefore instead of this:
Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears;.. Joel 3:10
It will be this:
they will hammer their swords into plowshare and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation Isaiah 2: 4
There will be: universal disarmament, For now, we will keep hearing about Peace talks, failing yet again. Therefore 'peace' can never be achieved, until Jesus rules.

Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. Isaiah 2:5
Come in this context, is a command, concerning how they ( the Jews during the millennium) should live .. and really, all people ought to walk in the light of the Lord at all times!
I think being told to walk in the light, means, not to continue to walk in the darkness, as they had been doing.
It goes without saying, and all people walk in the darkness, unless they are walking in the Lord's light. This 'walk' would be about their moral standards and their spiritual worship of God.
How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O Lord, they walk in the light of Your countenance Psalm 89:15
We have seen some good news, but as always, there is bad news, because people are sinners.
So, back to that discussion of bad news:
For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, Because they are filled with influences from the east, And they are soothsayers like the Philistines, And they strike bargains with the children of foreigners. 2 Isaiah:2:6
This is talking to Judah and Jerusalem... after Israel became prosperous they abandoned the Lord, and were filled ( but really empty), with false influences from the east ( eastern religions and their idols). Not to mention 'soothsayers!
We see this big time in our country today. Even nonreligious people are practicing Eastern forms of: yoga, meditation and relaxation, speak about past lives, karma, etc. etc.
I have seen so so many ads with some woman in a yoga pose, more than anything else it seems!
So instead of being 'filled' with God's word and Holy Spirit, we the people of today, are being filled with 'something' else ( and I do not think it is a good thing at all)!
Our country could have been light and salt to other nations, as Israel should have been, but for some terrible reason, we all go after dark empty religions, paganism, sorcery, witchcraft, occult, cults, and even humanism, and atheism.
And of course, there is always trade, money and power to throw in the mix!

Their land has also been filled with silver and gold And there is no end to their treasures; Their land has also been filled with horses And there is no end to their chariots. Isaiah 2:7
Two times it says the land has been 'filled'... but I noticed that the filling, is with material wealth, and not with the Word of God, or worship of God.
One might try to say in defense of themselves: well, I am providing for my families future, I am not some pagan idolater.
But no matter what we 'fill' ourselves with, if it is not God and His Word, it is emptiness, and worthless in the end.
And notice the addiction, there is no end...to their acquiring, it is never enough...because it is never enough.
Only God is enough and He is infinite. The horses and chariots reminds us of Solomon
Solomon had 140,000 stalls of horses for his chariots, and 12,000 horsemen 1 Kings 4:26
Could Solomon ever ride a 140,000 horses in his life time? Well, maybe, if he didn't eat, sleep, do his job as king etc.
I wonder if someone had a bunch of beautiful horses, willing to sell to Solomon, if he might have felt, he had a need for another 100, 200, or 300, 1000, or more, horses?
Are most of us, like that today?
But then, we begin to trust in our 'stuff'. Furthermore, we trust in ourselves, because we were so sharp, os smart, etc. to acquire, it all, on our own. With all this wealth...who needs God then? And therein lies trouble!
So if they could be so impressed, with their own abilities, that sin, also seems to go along with this:
Their land has also been filled with idols; They worship the work of their hands, That which their fingers have made. Isaiah 2:8
This is the 3rd 'filling' of the land...with idols!
This is not 'just' that there were 'some' idols, no...there was an abundance, a plethora, a boat load, a 'filling'. And yet, that 'filling', was an abundance of nothingness!
So the common man has been humbled And the man of importance has been abased, But do not forgive them. Isaiah 2:9
Your status: be you a very important man in society, or considered a 'nobody', does not change the punishment, both will be considered equal.
They do not choose to be humble, they are compelled... and because they did not choose, they are not forgiven.

Enter the rock and hide in the dust From the terror of the Lord and from the splendor of His majesty. Isaiah 2:10
The word enter, is not a suggestion, but a command, as is the word: Hide. This verse has both a near and far prophecy.
The far distant one has yet to come, as we see in Revelation:
Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains Revelation 6:15
Starting with Adam and Eve, they hid from God, because of their sin. This kind of hiding ( from God) remains to this very day. it is a classic response of mankind.
We all have 'secret' sins, sins we do not want other people to know about, and because of the shame, we also do not want God to know... However, He does know.
There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves Job 34:22
Of course there are some people, who refuse to be ashamed, but they will fear God, sooner or later, (if they do not confess to the Lord, and ask forgiveness).... They will try to hid from God, and His anger.
And people will also try to die rather than face God:
Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, will be destroyed; Thorn and thistle will grow on their altars; Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us! Hosea 10:8
This will be because of the terror of His majesty!
Will not His majesty terrify you, And the dread of Him fall on you? Job 13:11
In this world, men often make divisions among themselves, and their status: based on things like wealth, education, good looks, titles etc etc. However:
The proud look of man will be abased And the loftiness of man will be humbled, And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. Isaiah 2:11
Being conceited, arrogant, proud etc. will not bode well, in the end. A humbling is coming, because only the Lord will be exalted . 'In that day', is still in the future, but the future is coming... A day of reckoning is coming.
Time for us, is not the same as God. A few thousand years to us, is a very long time, to God, it is not.

Yes, soon the day of the Lord will bring judgement to all the people on the earth. Thankfully, we won't be here then, but will be enjoying being with our Lord and getting ready to return with Him. To bad that the people today won't listen isn't it?

A day of reckoning is coming!
For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning Against everyone who is proud and lofty And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased. Isaiah 2:12
Only God will be exalted on that day!
Everyone who is proud reminds me of the people of the world today!
Do we not, in our day, have an endless parade of proud arrogant people, with haughty attitudes, boasting and flaunting themselves, like peacocks.
There is black pride, and gay pride, day of social justice, Diversity Month LBGT pride month Women’s Equality Day Bullying prevention month Domestic Violence Awareness Month LBGT History month Transgender Day of Remembrance etc. etc. etc.
Do you see what I see? A kind of trend, some get a day others get a month ( well actually several months)
And everyone from a small child on up to old age, is told to be: proud of yourself.
What are they most proud of?
Their sins, which they dub: I feel free to be me, I was born that way My body, my choice My truth and the list goes on and on.
However, the day is coming when they will be humbled, and brought low, abased.
For You save an afflicted people, But haughty eyes You abase. Psalm 18:27
We can be truly humble now, or we will be made to bow down, 'in that day', but then, face an eternity in Hell, without the Lord.
However, even Creation itself is affected by man's sin:
For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now Romans 8:22
and
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope Romans 8:20
Therefore:
And it will be against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan, Isaiah 2:13
Perhaps, some folks, would want to say, this is symbolic language referring to certain people.
But I think it can be taken literally, because after all, God has already said: All...Everyone.
Plus the earth was subjected to God's curse because of man's sin, so even these impressive and to be admired, created objects, will face destruction because of human proud sinful rebellion. Mankind and nature are bound together.
Since I did not sleep last night, and am falling asleep at the computer...
I am regretfully finished for today.

Here are 6 more things, the day of reckoning, will be against.
14 Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up, 15 Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall, 16 Against all the ships of Tarshish And against all the beautiful craft. Isaiah 2:14-16
Concerning verse 14 'Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up':
Lofty mountains and hills are exalted heights, and thus will also be part of God's judgment which includes His creation.
And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. Revelation/16/20
Concerning verse 15 'Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall':
Mankind thinks they can build towers high enough, and walls thick enough to assure their security. because, they fancy then the building it will be impenetrable!
But if men do not put their confidence in God, they will find out one day, the security they thought they had. is nothing but dust and sand.
26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell— and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:26-27
Concerning verse 16 'Against all the ships of Tarshish And against all the beautiful craft.':
Against ALL the ships= total destruction! So men's proud triumph over the sea, will be annihilated.
Super short today, as I am super tired, and have a lot to do...if I can stay, even a wee bit, awake! sigh

The pride of man will be humbled And the loftiness of men will be abased; And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day, Isaiah 2:17
That verse immediately reminded me of this one:
He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30
We have had, and to some extent, are still having our day, and we have become very proud. Pride: the middle letter is 'I'.
But unrepentant, arrogant, haughty, prideful unbelievers, will be humbled, yet.... God will be exalted!
All mankind's great 'achievements will be seen as:
Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 1:2
But not only that:
But the idols will completely vanish. Isaiah 2:18
Idols have no value... ( except, possibly in the negative, the worship of them, will do harm, so the devil might find them valuable).
But idols are not limited to statues, anything or anybody, that dethrones God like: pride, power, sex, money etc. etc.
The day is coming, when idols will completely vanish!
It will come about in that day,” declares the Lord of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land. Zechariah 13:2
And this should be all believer's attitude:
More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8
In that day, there is nowhere to run or hide!
Men will go into caves of the rocks And into holes of the ground Before the terror of the Lord And the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to make the earth tremble Isaiah 2:19
All those who deemed themselves superior, great and mighty will fall.
“How have the mighty fallen, And the weapons of war perished 2 Samuel 1:27
From large estates and castles to caves....in a a vain attempt to hide because of terror of the Lord, from the omnipresent, omniscient, almighty God!
However,
There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves Job 34:22

In that day men will cast away to the moles and the bats Their idols of silver and their idols of gold, Which they made for themselves to worship, Isaiah 2:20
Sadly, they have learned too late, that their idols of gold they worshiped, are worthless, and frankly, I don't think the moles and bats, will want anything to do with their idols.
The operative word is: 'worshiped'. These idols, were not just some decorative nick- knacks!
Only God is worthy of worship!
In order to go into the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs Before the terror of the Lord and the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to make the earth tremble. Isaiah 2:21
As they crawl into caves etc. They have realized too late, that God's majesty is so awesome... and their idols are so worthless!
However, this is a message also, for us today. What idols are we putting ahead of, or in place of, God? When will we discover any and all, of our idols are worthless?
There is a 'rock' we can hid ourselves in tho
Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee;........... author Augustus Toplady
How do we know it's too late for them? because it will be: 'In that day... When He arises to make the earth tremble'.
They are not just seeing a shadow of God, kind of like what Moses saw, They are seeing His majesty! They had steadfastly rejected truth, for lies.
We need to tremble now, concerning His majesty. Yes He has saved us, loves us, done everything for us, but He is still beyond awesome!
Therefore:
Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed? Isaiah 2:22
Mankind is weak in comparison...in fact, there really is no comparison. Can we create the universe, can we create life from nothing, do we live outside of time etc.? Our life here on earth is short.
Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation Psalm 146:3
and
Thus says the Lord,
“Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5
Notice, to trust in man, instead of God, is to be cursed.
So the word: STOP is a command.
Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils
This does not mean we do not love our fathers, husbands, brothers and sisters in Christ, but only Jesus can save us, and He should be our priority!
Forgive me, but I can't not look but at our world today! We really do think that with our magnificent technology, produced by some of the greatest human brains, we can in fact: save ourselves, and even become gods.
How very very foolish and sad! Not to mention: stupid, deluded, deceived, crazy... need I go on.

For behold, the Lord God of hosts is going to remove from Jerusalem and Judah Both supply and support, the whole supply of bread And the whole supply of water; Isaiah 3:1
This is a prophecy, concerning something God is going to do, in the future. Isaiah prophesied from about 740 BC to 680 BC Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians defeated Jerusalem and Judah, in 586 BC. So about 100 years later.
However, even tho 100 years may seem like a long time for a prophecy to happen, it could also be, that this prophecy is both a 'short' term ( 100 years later) and a far more distant one, that has not yet happened, ( during the tribulation, just prior to Christ’s second coming.)
In any case, all the things the people were trusting in food, water, soldiers, leadership etc. will be taken away. This will be in the extreme.
No amount of wealth, weapons, etc.can resist God. Trusting in man, is foolishness!
Sounds like today's humanism and atheism, science etc. No longer do many in the USA believe in:
God we trust
rather it's
In man we trust.
2 The mighty man and the warrior, The judge and the prophet, The diviner and the elder, 3 The captain of fifty and the honorable man, The counselor and the expert artisan, And the skillful enchanter. Isaiah 3:2,3
So these verses go from the necessities: bread and water, to their securities. It starts more or less, at the top and moves down to more local leaders etc. From those more honorable to the illegitimate diviners and enchanters etc.
A perfect storm for chaos, as God removes the command structure of their society. God will remove the warriors and soldiers who were committed the defense of the country, and the civil government will collapse.
And indeed that is basically what Nebuchadnezzar did, he removed the leaders etc. And even those skilled in all manner of crafts.

Wow! This next verse, ( which I will post below) reminds me so much of today in the USA!
We don't have true 'royalty', but we are, (in my opinion)... in many ways, 'ruled' over, by mere lads and capricious children,
And the people will be oppressed, Each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; The youth will storm against the elder And the inferior against the honorable." And I will make mere lads their princes, And capricious children will rule over them, Isaiah 3:4
Even tho these 'rulers' are very young, children even, they are none the less, tyrants, and despots!
These children (teens etc) are basically incompetent, inadequate, foolish, in many cases unstable, and ill equipped, cruel, unpredictable, inexperienced, hard to control etc.
In many areas of life: like for instance: culture, and morality the older 'mature' adults in the USA today, are lead by, and follow, teens. For example in: the youth's style of dress , music, hair do's, slang etc.
I see women, in their late 70's and early 80's ( their ages) with bright garish multi color hair ( rainbow like), and totally ripped up and torn jeans on ( so that there are hardly any 'jeans', left to see...mostly just flesh), matched with a way too revealing sexual top etc.
Frankly, I do not think that style of dress, on older women, is a good, or appealing look for them! ( I do not think it is for the young women either, to me it is not beautiful or lovely!) Rather, I think it looks downright: foolish, garish, and more like a street walker apparel.
And that is just the start, of how youth, have usurped control, in our day and age.
And the people will be oppressed, Each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; The youth will storm against the elder And the inferior against the honorable. Isaiah 3:5
Morals are cast aside, the people become lawless, modesty is thrown under the bus...... Where have we seen this type of behavior in our world today?
People are forced and compelled by other people's demands, and oppressive pressures, resulting in, a total breakdown of society into chaos and anarchy.
This sounds so familiar to me, something like I am seeing more and more on the daily news!

Very good ones! I used the same verses and told my neighbor about the women and children leading us and why God does that etc just the other day in our Bible study about the end times! I like the way the NASB, the NET and the NIV translate Isaiah 3:5:
NASB95 And the people will be oppressed, Each one by another, and each one by his neighbor; The youth will storm against the elder And the inferior against the honorable.
NET 89 The people will treat each other harshly; men will oppose each other; neighbors will fight. Youths will proudly defy the elderly and riffraff will challenge those who were once respected.
NIV People will oppress each other— man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the base against the honorable.

When a man lays hold of his brother in his father’s house, saying, “You have a cloak, you shall be our ruler, And these ruins will be under your charge,” Isaiah 3:6
This struck me as 'ALMOST' funny! Only because today, people fight tooth and nail to win an election, in order to become a ruler!
But in that day, nobody wants the headache, the responsibility, the danger, or the overwhelming odds etc.
All you will need ( in that day) is to have even a 'little' something...a 'cloak' will do, and you are picked.
You are most likely completely unqualified, and yet you are being pressed, into a leadership position!
( Tho, as an aside, I am not so sure, about the qualifications of those in leadership, in our country and other countries, in this time and age).
Israel had already failed to rule with integrity, so then, at that day, they are clutching at straws. Without some kind of rule, there would be nothing but anarchy and chaos endlessly! God should have been their 'King'... but this is what they have come to.
It seems to me, this is what much of our country and other countries ( who have abandoned God) are coming to.
But not so fast, the person they will try to bamboozle into office, is not so easily tricked:
He will protest on that day, saying, “I will not be your healer, For in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; You should not appoint me ruler of the people.” Isaiah 3:7
He will refuse the mantle of responsibility! He will refute the claim, by those will try to conscript him into service...
either they were mistaken, or perhaps he will lie, but in any case, he will explain that he is not qualified. He has no show of wealth, is not a healer, and should NOT be appointed!
( And that is kind of funny to me, because it seems to me, there are those today, with zero experience, that are more than eager, to rule).
In any case... in that day, those folks with a cloak, the people, choose... to rule,
will flatly refuse, to be saddled with the mess!

For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen, Because their speech and their actions are against the Lord, To rebel against His glorious presence. Isaiah 3:8
The reason for the complete collapse in those days, had to do with their rebellion... against God.
Their speech against God was not the occasional swear word, but spoken every day, liberally, and deliberately.
It reminds me of the ever growing humanism, atheism and Satanism in the world today. Their disobedience is a given, and most often done with disdain, mocking, contentiousness, hatred, etc.
But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; They have turned aside and departed. Jeremiah 5:23
and
Surely mockers are with me, And my eye gazes on their provocation. Job 17:2
and
Hold them guilty, O God; By their own devices let them fall! In the multitude of their transgressions thrust them out, For they are rebellious against You. Psalm 5:10
It gets even worse
The expression of their faces bears witness against them, And they display their sin like Sodom; They do not even conceal it. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves. Isaiah 3:9
They have no shame but rather an insolent look.
The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, “There is no God.” Psalm 10:4
and
There is a kind—oh how lofty are his eyes! And his eyelids are raised in arrogance Proverbs 30:13
What more can be said, than, Woe to them?
They may not realize it, but in fact, in truth, they have brought evil on themselves.
They will not be able to pass the buck, onto someone else. The wages of sin is death...
Like Sodom they sin flagrantly, and make no attempt to hide it! I think we are seeing a lot of this now in our world, today!
On the other hand:
Say to the righteous that it will go well with them, For they will eat the fruit of their actions. Isaiah 3:10
Now Isaiah is commanded to speak to the righteous... the believing remnant.
It will go well with them.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
This is not saying your actions merit salvation!
Rather, it is the principal of sowing and reaping.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap Galatians 6:7

Good ones!
I'd like to point out two things though. First, when it talks about their sins saying, their speech and actions are against the Lord, etc. for us it's saying the people then are just like the people are today. God says that when someone isn't saved, even their very best behavior and most loving gestures are worthless and are actually sins! They're sins because the person is doing them for the wrong reasons. They could care less about God and what He wants so they certainly aren't going to do anything in order to bring glory to God. Therefore everything they think, say and do is sinful. So although there certainly were obvious outright sins, there were also many sins that looked wonderful to other people, but God knew better because He knew their hearts.
When God said it would go well with the righteous people, the believing remnant, and what God says in Psalm 23:6, does not mean that bad things won't ever happen to those who are really saved. (That's what the Bible means when it calls someone "righteous".) The judgement that's being spoken about in these verses is the fall of Jerusalem to Babylon; although that's just a partial fulfillment. The rest will happen in the Tribulation. So what this is saying in our case is that the righteous will miss the final fulfillment as we will be taken up to Heaven in the rapture before the Tribulation. Obviously though, we will still experience bad things at times, just as we are right now. We just won't experience the full wrath of God. Jesus took that on for us. Back when Isaiah spoke this though, the righteous were still taken captive to Babylon, but God would watch over them and therefore they would arrive healthy, (many got sick and died on the way) and He would bless them while they were there.

Onto to the wicked:
Woe to the wicked! It will go badly with him, For what he deserves will be done to him. Isaiah 3:11
Sin always has its wages! And thus, it will go badly ( sooner...or...later) for the unrepentant sinner!
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
The faithful believers can ( and may) suffer greatly in this life, but at their end, and their life in eternity future, it will be vastly different from the rebellious unbeliever!
The wicked might actually ( seemingly) do 'better' in this life, but judgment will come, and it will go badly for him or her, if they remain unrepentant.
The wicked, is evil in his life, purposes, behavior, words, etc. If he or she never turns from their wicked ways, and looks to the Savior, then their future is not bright, but forever bad.
4 The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish. Psalms 1:4-6
and
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. Galatians 6:7
You can just hear the deep grieving of Isaiah can you not?
O My people! Their oppressors are children, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths Isaiah 3:12
But again, this sounds very much like today!!
Rude insolence abounded then, as it does now from much of the youth! Young people that act as heartless, demanding, self-centered cruel tyrants. And women are often, not any better!
However, I am thinking, this could also refer, to 'men' who 'think' they are women, act like women, are 'weak' like some women... all in al, none of these people are suitable to rule! But then, no one else wanted the responsibility.
And what do these children or childish people do? They lead others astray, into confusion.
( that too sounds so much like today... folks can't even tell if a person is a man or a woman, they are so confused, that even the most basics founding blocks of life is too hard for them!).
God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 1 Corinthians 14:33

The Lord arises to contend, And stands to judge the people. Isaiah 3:13
God will come to the court, and all will arise for the sentencing! He will be both Judge, jury, and prosecutor...
The people to be judged, had decided to be their own defense.. ( not electing to have Jesus...as their defense, who would not only defend them, but had ( or could have), paid for what they owed because of their massive sins .
The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and princes of His people, “It is you who have devoured the vineyard; The plunder of the poor is in your houses. Isaiah 3:14
Again, those in leadership are the 'focus' here. A principal seen in this verse also, I think.
Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment. James 3:1
This group of leaders and princes, instead of: caring for, protecting, etc. the welfare of the nation ( vineyard), devoured, and ruined it... by force and/or deception....
This sounds familiar to me in this day and age also!
They afflicted those who were already poor, the leaders and princes, had harden their hearts.
Again, this reminds me of some of those in power, today, speaking about those they consider: the 'useless' eaters, of the world.
Cruel and unjust!
God expresses His outrage at such inhumanity to man:
“What do you mean by crushing My people And grinding the face of the poor?” Declares the Lord God of hosts. Isaiah 3:15
The leaders severely maltreated the poor, with unmerciful severity! God was then ( and is now), indignant! He had entrusted them with the stewardship of HIS vineyard, and they not only behaved irresponsibly, and irreverently, but with utmost cruelty! Judgment is coming!
Personally, I can't help but think of: the unborn babies today, and the very young children in school, being forced to view the utmost sexual degradation, and also, being taught racial hatred on a massive scale, not to mention, being brainwashed in massive lies, lik: the big bang, evolution, climate change etc etc etc.
These are just a few of the evil's our leaders today, are pushing, with no love or compassion!

God had said more about their situation, this time about the women:
Moreover, the Lord said, “Because the daughters of Zion are proud And walk with heads held high and seductive eyes, And go along with mincing steps And tinkle the bangles on their feet, Isaiah 3:16
God especially points out the wealthy disdainfully proud and/or snooty haughty woman... Thinking themselves better than others.
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, But humility goes before honor. Proverbs 18:12
They were Flirtatious attention seekers... does that remind anyone of today's generation of endless selfies, pointing to their being self absorbed, and self centered. etc.?
Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids. Proverbs 6:25
Even the way they walked was calculated and designed to draw attention to themselves, and to make sure they have tinkling bangles on the feet.
All this is outer show and not inner beauty, plus worst of all, it detracts from the glory and honor deserved only by God.
Therefore the Lord will afflict the scalp of the daughters of Zion with scabs, And the Lord will make their foreheads bare.” Isaiah 3:17
God's judgment on their heads held so high, is not so pretty. Their hair was a big part of their 'glory' and physical beauty and God had said this about 'hair':
The very hairs of your head are all numbered. Matthew 10:30
and
If a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering. 1 Corinthians 11:15
But that will not be the only thing... Done for today

Not just the women's glory in their hair....
18 In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, headbands, crescent ornaments, 19 dangling earrings, bracelets, veils, 20 headdresses, ankle chains, sashes, perfume boxes, amulets, 21 [finger rings, nose rings, 22 festal robes, outer tunics, cloaks, money purses, 23 hand mirrors, undergarments, turbans and veils. Isaiah 3:18-23
This is almost certainly a two fold prophecy, the nearest one was fulfilled: when the third and final siege of Jerusalem happened in 586BC this was when Judah was utterly defeated, sacked and plundered by the Babylonian forces...
but in the future: it will be the time of Jacob's distress, the Tribulation.
God is going to remove all 'external' beauty' and the fashions of the proud noble and/or rich women. It was not so much the 'fashions' were 'sinful' ( tho some might have been, if they were explicitly to encourage the sin of lust etc.)
Even then, the actual items were not so much the issue, as the character and intention of these proud, snooty, women who had hardened their hearts. Their arrogant hearts of these woman, used all these things, to accentuate their outward beauty.
Hummm do any woman do this today?
I don't think a lot of women then or now, focus on these verses when dressing, It is not wrong to look nice, but when it is your major focus and is coupled with over the top: pride, and without compassion for others....that is a sinful attitude:
Your adornment must not be merely external— braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. 1 Peter 3:3,4
The problem is their hard hearts, and turned backs from God!
Some of these items have made quite a 'come back'... here in the USA ankle bracelets and nose rings for an example.
An odd thought! Done for Today.

Now it will come about that instead of sweet perfume there will be putrefaction; Instead of a belt, a rope; Instead of well-set hair, a plucked-out scalp; Instead of fine clothes, a donning of sackcloth; And branding instead of beauty. 25 Your men will fall by the sword And your mighty ones in battle. 26 And her gates will lament and mourn, And deserted she will sit on the ground. Isaiah 3:24-26
Instead of is mentioned...5 times. Things will change radically, for the women... and not in a good, or better way, rather a reversal:
From a sweet smell, to a stinky offensive smell. I know some smells, can almost cause vomiting they are so rancid. It is one time when face masks might have a reasonable use (in my opinion).
'Rope' sounds like to me: slaves being led into captivity... not a fashion statement.
Back to the hair...once a sign of great outer beauty, now plucked bald.
Sackcloth was often used as a sign of mourning, so perhaps worn ( in part, at least) because of the coming death of so many in their family... ( also their reversal of finances might have played a part).
Branding also sound like slavery, a mark burned on the skin, denoting ownership by someone else. These are most likely not tattoos, but extremely hurtful implemented marks, by a heated iron or some such.
When many or most of the male population has died the city is defenseless... we are not exactly killing our men in the USA... but rather we are trying to turn a lot of them into women... ( which is a type of killing them in my opinion).
So when Jerusalem's male population is mostly slaughtered, the city sits and mourns like a grieving widow.
This ( America) is not my 'kingdom', but I do grieve to a degree, watching the USA die. I believe we are under grave judgment also.

awesome job! I've got a surprise for you! Guess what Bible version these verses are from:
Isaiah 3:12 O My people! Their taskmasters are infants, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And swallow up the way of your paths.
“Now it will be that instead of sweet perfume there will be the smell of rot; Instead of a belt, a rope; Instead of well-set hair, a plucked-out scalp; Instead of fine clothes, a donning of sackcloth; And branding instead of beauty. Your men will fall by the sword And your mighty ones in battle. And her gates will lament and mourn, And deserted she will sit on the ground.” (Isaiah 3:24–26)
It's the Legacy Standard Bible! I love the name of the publishing company too; it's: Three Sixteen Publishing! I got it free for my birthday for my Logos Bible Library, so now I have 34 different versions lol, but my favorites are the same ones MacArthur likes the best, the NIV to read and now the Legacy for study. Before it was the NASB for study.
