This is the word which the Lord spoke earlier concerning Moab Isaiah 16:13
So this prophecy is about to be given again, it is not the first time, it's been given.
It would have benefited them to have paid attention, the first time, rather than God having to say it again. There had been more than one prophecy. And that would be like God, to give several chances.
Here are some, I am not sure of the timeline, but at least, it shows God gave more than one warning to Moab's existence:
Woe to you, O Moab! You are ruined, O people of Chemosh! He has given his sons as fugitives, And his daughters into captivity, To an Amorite king, Sihon Numbers 21:29
Plus
“Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of hosts, The God of Israel, “Surely Moab will be like Sodom And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah— A place possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them And the remainder of My nation will inherit them.” Zephaniah 2:9
and
I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, A scepter shall rise from Israel, And shall crush through the forehead of Moab, And tear down all the sons of Sheth. Numbers 24:17
And
“Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Shout loud, O Philistia, because of Me!” Psalms 60:8
Also
“So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid tumult, With war cries and the sound of a trumpet. Amos 2:2
And this is what God said: ( this is not Isaiah's thoughts, but God's decree)
But now the Lord speaks, saying, "Within three years, as a hired man would count them, the glory of Moab will be degraded along with all his great population, and his remnant will be very small and impotent." Isaiah 16:14
Clearly the hireling counted every single day, so as to not have it be one day more. Therefore, the timing is very exact, the time is fixed. Moab’s imminent ruin is coming, and only a remnant would survive.
This is the result of arrogant pride. It might behoove us, in our day, to reconsider pride and boasting.

The oracle concerning Damascus. "Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city And will become a fallen ruin. Isaiah 17:1
Damascus was a city full of idols, among other things. The destruction and ruin of Damascus is imminent, sealed and certain.
"The cities of Aroer are forsaken; They will be for flocks to lie down in, And there will be no one to frighten them. Isaiah 17:2
Perhaps this was a region of the country, and this city, was under Damascus control and authority. But it will be so deserted and lifeless, that the sheep will not be bothered by people.
"The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, And sovereignty from Damascus And the remnant of Aram; They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel," Declares the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 17:3
Ephraim equals the 10 tribes of Israel in the Northern Kingdom. and what will be their fate for joining with idolaters?
Now in that day the glory of Jacob will fade, And the fatness of his flesh will become lean. Isaiah 17:4
Their glory, prosperity, and power will fade, and perhaps due to lack of food etc. they will become frail and sickly. And many taken captive is also a type of leanness.
Since I only slept about an hour last night, I am not the sharpest pencil for writing today haha

It will be even like the reaper gathering the standing grain, As his arm harvests the ears, Or it will be like one gleaning ears of grain In the valley of Rephaim. Isaiah 17:5
"It will be"...meaning: It's coming!
This makes me wonder, if this is not also true for my country? We are not really mentioned in Scripture, or if mentioned, only as an aside, and not actually by name.
The reaper cuts down the grain, and takes it away... So will the enemy cut down and remove take captive and move the 10 tribes of Israel.
Yet gleanings will be left in it like the shaking of an olive tree, Two or three olives on the topmost bough, Four or five on the branches of a fruitful tree, Declares the Lord , the God of Israel. Isaiah 17:6
Though the nation will be destroyed ( as a nation) some will be left...a small number. Even in His wrath, God has mercy.
In that day man will have regard for his Maker And his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 17:7
Some of the remnant will turn away from their idols, back to the true God A revival of the true religion among the Ephraimites, after they had followed the Canaanite religious practices. This can be seen as a second mercy from God. Even if all, or mostly all, of their material possessions, and their nation is gone, yet, to have the favor of the true God, is a real blessing, beyond compare.
He will not have regard for the altars, the work of his hands, Nor will he look to that which his fingers have made, Even the Asherim and incense stands. Isaiah 17:8
They will no longer look to, or worship at the altars of the so called gods, which the Syrians worshiped at. They will make a complete break from falsehood, lies and deceptions.
They are done, with all manner of their superstitions, and are ashamed of their folly of caving idols etc.
They will look to the true God, their maker, of Heaven and earth.

You do better than I do when I haven't slept lol.
Concerning your question about our country, I believe it is true for us and every country. Israel does have a special relationship with the Lord, and because of it, they are disciplined more than the rest of the world. That's true because the Lord tells us that the more someone has been given, the more is expected from them. Israel has had God's Word for thousands of years longer than anyone, therefore much is expected of them, but they failed. The USA has been given more than any other country since the start of Christianity, and therefore much is expected from us, but we too have failed, though not quite as badly as Israel did. Remember, this is what everyone was told at the beginning of the Church age: “In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead.”” (Acts 17:30–31) So God has commanded all people everywhere to repent of their sins, believe in Jesus, and be saved. Most of the people in our country and others, just went through the motions of supposedly being saved, and still do. You know, they got baptized, they went to church, and to the pot luck dinners, and social gatherings, etc, but they were never really saved. That's exactly what the first chapter of Isaiah says that Israel was doing. Plus, God gave every human being born a conscience and the people are violating their consciences left and right and harden their hearts until their conscience has been seared.
I think that's why the USA and other nations aren't mentioned in the Bible. Because as usual, the people love their sin and prefer sin to being saved. I'm afraid that the people of our nation will be severely judged, because we've been given so very much by the Lord. Every single person in this country will have no excuse, because Bibles have been freely available to all. You could buy them, but they have been available in many places and in many ways for free, such as in churches, library's, hotels, the internet, etc. What many people don't realize is that we are not only judged based on what we know, but we are also judged on what we could have known. That's why Jesus told certain cities He preached in that they'd be judged more harshly than Sodom.
““That servant who knows his master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” (Luke 12:47–48)
Is that what you were asking or was it something else?

In that day their strong cities will be like forsaken places in the forest, Or like branches which they abandoned before the sons of Israel; And the land will be a desolation. Isaiah 17:9
In that day.. is a day that is coming.
Even, trusting in strong cities is rather foolish, ( a few bombs and the city is desolate)
So back in those days, the trust in strong walls, was not a guarantee of safety.
And it is way beyond foolish, when up against God, No matter if it is Israel, the Canaanites, or any country of our time.
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation And have not remembered the rock of your refuge. Therefore you plant delightful plants And set them with vine slips of a strange god. Isaiah 17:10
Failing to worship God, has left Israel: exposed, defenseless, vulnerable, and unshielded.
God is often called “a Rock,” and a strong tower:
For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God, Psalms 18:31
They were not Thankful for God's protection, in fact, they forgot it, and followed idols.
So, this ingratitude would have consequences, They would plant crops expecting a bountiful harvest, but would be sadly disappointed.
Having turned to idols, they can no longer expect or demand protection, and prosperity. Idols would be like expecting weeds, to be beautiful roses, or peonies, or dahlias.
In fact, it will be worse than that:
In the day that you plant it you carefully fence it in, And in the morning you bring your seed to blossom; But the harvest will be a heap In a day of sickliness and incurable pain. Isaiah 17:11
It is unwise,ill-advised, irrational, foolish, etc. to try to obtain your needs without God. This is something many people in our day, are attempting, and things continue to deteriorate.
And in that day, they reaped a severe punishment.
can we expect anything less?

Alas, the uproar of many peoples Who roar like the roaring of the seas, And the rumbling of nations Who rush on like the rumbling of mighty waters! Isaiah 17:12
Alas, is not a happy word, it is generally used before some approaching catastrophe.
Thus it is a word denoting great sorrow.
A multitude, a great army, so big it is like the sea, which will be like a cataclysmic flood or tsunami... and the sound of the army is horrendous!
The nations rumble on like the rumbling of many waters, But He will rebuke them and they will flee far away, And be chased like chaff in the mountains before the wind, Or like whirling dust before a gale. Isaiah 17:13
And just when it seems inevitable that ALL is lost, But God.... Tho it does not actually say: 'God',in the verse, the 'He' in the verse, is capitalized ( which indicates it is God. And in any case, it is clear that only God could do this!!
And so, God comforts His people with this message. God can easily impede and prevent any attack at any time.
At evening time, behold, there is terror! Before morning they are no more. Such will be the portion of those who plunder us And the lot of those who pillage us. Isaiah 17:14
So yes, terror may come, and apparently it did, But God... by morning.... and the terror was gone!
Nevertheless, even IF God does not 'seem' to rescue us, in this life, we still trust Him.... IF we die, we get to go home, and be safe with Him for all eternity, forever, and ever and ever.
However, God does often rescue His people, sometimes at the last minute, so we know, it was not anything we did, nor anything someone else did.
Trials and tribulations are bound to happen in this life, dreadful things happen, and Tyrants seem to multiply more than we do!!!
This comfort, may only be to a small remnant, yet, that is all the more proof, it was not we who won the battle, But God!!!
We also in our day,can have hope in this consolation, .

Alas, oh land of whirring wings Which lies beyond the rivers of Cush Isaiah 18:1
The commentators I read, seem a little 'iffy' on declaring exactly what this means, issues like: which country is this referring to? Most think it is Ethiopia ( or Egypt).
However, they also consider, the words: "the land of whirring wings".... to be most difficult to be certain about, as to, 'exactly', what is that, alluding to?...
Most commentators think it refers to ships.
(haha I think this could be an SOS to Cindy :)
which sends envoys by the sea, Even in papyrus vessels on the surface of the waters. Go, swift messengers, to a nation tall and smooth, To a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation Whose land the rivers divide. Isaiah 18:2
So it does 'seem' to imply, that ambassadors were sent by the sea, in papyrus boats....
( Those would be rather 'unusual' boats...made of papyrus! I am guessing that they were covered with something like pitch).
The message nevertheless is: that God is sending destruction, even tho.... the people are powerful, feared, as well as, oppressive.
When I read these older prophecies, they likewise, often, ring as a warning, to my ear, to my country, the USA.
All you inhabitants of the world and dwellers on earth, As soon as a standard is raised on the mountains, you will see it, And as soon as the trumpet is blown, you will hear it. Isaiah 18:3
This appears to be something that will happen sometimes in the future, everyone will see that judgment is coming... that God is going to bring about! It cannot be missed!
Often prophetic scriptures, are both near ( in the not toooo distant future). and far. ( in the future, quite a long time from the time the prophecy was given).
We must not think, that somehow people today, will escape judgment! Especially, as the world waxes more and more evil in what occurs to me, to worsen, by the day... actually sin and evil appear to increase, almost by the hour!!

For thus the Lord has told me, "I will look from My dwelling place quietly Like dazzling heat in the sunshine, Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest." Isaiah 18:4
Isaiah makes it clear who is speaking "...the Lord..."
At first, God is just going to 'look' He already knows and views the plans of the unrighteous, condemned,evil-minded, idolatrous, unsaved, vicious men.
God is not taken by surprise, and will act when they least expect it, they will be used for... His plans.
He is still and calm, not nervous or upset, His attitude could be likened to sunshine, allowing weeds to grow.
Then one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine and gathered from it his lap full of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, for they did not know what they were. 2 Kings 4:39
At first, there is no violent 'storm' which would ruin the 'crop', but only a light dew, which waters them, and allows them to grow nicely.
For before the harvest, as soon as the bud blossoms And the flower becomes a ripening grape, Then He will cut off the sprigs with pruning knives And remove and cut away the spreading branches. Isaiah 18:5
Again, like in 2 Kings 4:39. It will be a disaster for the enemy. They have been allowed to grow, but, not fully matured.
When a gardener or a farmer, cut off the sprigs, no more flowers can grow, and that ends the spreading and ripening of the plant.
This enemy thought they were assured of the victory, their plans were perfected...
BUT GOD....
Instead, this will be the outcome:
They will be left together for mountain birds of prey, And for the beasts of the earth; And the birds of prey will spend the summer feeding on them, And all the beasts of the earth will spend harvest time on them. Isaiah 18:6
The army will be slaughtered, annihilated, demolished... and their bodies, will not be buried, which means, birds and animals will feast upon their bodies.
At that time a gift of homage will be brought to the Lord of hosts From a people tall and smooth, Even from a people feared far and wide, A powerful and oppressive nation, Whose land the rivers divide— To the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, even Mount Zion. Isaiah 18:7
It seems like there was a conversion of many. So instead of the worship of the true God, being decimated, it grew!
Which often happens in Christianity, the more it is persecuted, the more it grows. Thus, when persecution comes, yet again, we ought not despair,or be inconsolably distressed, but rather be calm, and with faith, know God will grow the church.

I loved what you said about this:
It reminded me of something I read in one of my devotionals. I think you'll like it so I'll post it here for you too:
The Trial of Faith Genesis 22:12-14
It’s possible to love our families more than we love God, a sin that turns our children into idols. The Lord once tested two men along these lines—the patriarch Abraham with his son and the philanthropist George Mueller with his daughter. Mueller’s ministry was primarily to orphans, but it was his own child who most tested his faith. His journal says:
My beloved daughter and only child, and a believer since 1846, was taken ill on June 20, 1853. This illness, at first a low fever, turned to typhus. On July 3rd there seemed no hope of her recovery. Now was the trial of faith. But faith triumphed. My beloved wife and I were enabled to give her up into the hands of the Lord. He sustained us both exceedingly. Though my only and beloved child was brought near the grave, yet was my soul in perfect peace, satisfied with the will of my Heavenly Father, being assured that He would only do that for her and her parents, which in the end would be best. She continued very ill till about July 20th, when restoration began.
Parents know what an only child, a beloved child, is. Well, the Father in Heaven said, as it were, “Art thou willing to give up this child to me?” My heart responded, “As it seems good to Thee, my Heavenly Father. Thy will be done.” But as our hearts were made willing to give back our child to Him, so He was ready to leave her to us, and she lived.
Of all the trials of faith that as yet I have had to pass through, this was the greatest; and by God’s abundant mercy, I own it to His praise, I was enabled to delight myself in the will of God; for I felt perfectly sure, that, if the Lord took this beloved daughter, it would be best for her parents, best for herself, and more for the glory of God than if she lived. This better part I was satisfied with; and thus my heart had peace, perfect peace. On this day: 365 amazing and inspiring stories about saints, martyrs & heroes.

(haha I think this could be an SOS to Cindy :)
You're doing fine! Here's the best and most agreed upon meanings:
The original text has “Cush,” a land that included modern Ethiopia, the Sudan, and Somalia. Isaiah called it “a land of whirring wings”, not only because of the insects that infested the land, but also because of the frantic diplomatic activity going on as the nation sought alliances to protect them from Assyria. He pictures the ambassadors in their light, swift boats, going to the African nations for help. But God tells them to go back home because He would deal with Assyria Himself, apart from the help of any army. And He does!
Everything looks great to me, thanks for taking the time to share it!

The oracle concerning Egypt. Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and is about to come to Egypt; The idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, And the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them. Isaiah 19:1
This is about Egypt, perhaps in part, because the Jews were sometimes turn to Egypt...
It is foolish to rely on another country, rather than God. Thus, overthrowing Egypt, is necessary for the Jews to learn that lesson.
The clouds are a signal, judgment is coming to Egypt. There will be no help from Egypt's many man-made idols, as a result, the Egyptians will lack bravery and courage, and instead, they will be terrified.
But more than that:
So I will incite Egyptians against Egyptians; And they will each fight against his brother and each against his neighbor, City against city and kingdom against kingdom. Isaiah 19:2
This sounds eerily like the USA today, but not just us, many other countries as well.
Egypt will be plagued with internal struggles, civil wars, riots etc. Citizens will fight each other, and slay each other, even within families, there will be murderous strife.
This is not a place to look for protection or provision.
Plus the Egyptians will wax and grow even worse!
Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be demoralized within them; And I will confound their strategy, So that they will resort to idols and ghosts of the dead And to mediums and spiritists. Isaiah 19:3
Instead of giving up their worthless false idols, they double down, and add to them, even worse demonic practices. Of course, these are no help, and are eternally dangerous.
Furthermore, this will also happen:
Moreover, I will deliver the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel master, And a mighty king will rule over them," declares the Lord God of hosts. Isaiah 19:4
There are several different human candidates for this human tyrant, but I can't help but think, the spiritual one might be Satan.
Again, I sadly seem to wonder if this is not soon to be the USA fate also.
Of course, this is specifically about Egypt in that day and age, but history and sin, have a way of repeating... and scripture, can be a warning of what will happen when a people, turn away from God, to their own way.

Good one! I agree this is also true for our country and even the world now.
I'd also like to add something about that first verse. “An oracle concerning Egypt: See, the LORD rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him, and the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.” (Isaiah 19:1)
You said:
MacArthur says: riding on a swift cloud. Clouds are vehicles for the Lord’s coming to execute judgment elsewhere.
I was thinking that the clouds themselves aren't so much the sign or signal, but rather the Lord who is riding them... If the clouds themselves signaled judgment then we should all be shaking in our boots every day as it's rare for a day to go by when there aren't clouds in the sky. Plus, Jesus is going to catch us up to join Him in the clouds some day soon, and that's a promise and not a judgment for us. (Although I guess you could call it a judgment on those left behind.) And when the Lord brought the Jew's out of Egypt, He led them by day from a cloud. I've listed a bunch of other scriptures showing the Lord and clouds. I'm not really sure what to think about it.....
“After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
“By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.” (Exodus 13:21)
““There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides on the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty.” (Deuteronomy 33:26)
“He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him— the dark rain clouds of the sky. Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.” (Psalm 18:10–12)
“Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds— his name is the LORD— and rejoice before him.” (Psalm 68:4)
“to him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice.” (Psalm 68:33)
“... He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” (Psalm 104:3)
“The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.” (Psalm 68:17)
““In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.” (Daniel 7:13)
““At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30)
““Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”” (Matthew 26:64)
“After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”” (Acts 1:9–11)
“Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.” (Revelation 1:7)
“I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one “like a son of man” with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.” (Revelation 14:14)
“Clouds and thick darkness surround him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.” (Psalm 97:2)

Super info about Clouds and the Lord on them...Thank you and that.....
"Jesus is going to catch us up to join Him in the clouds some day soon"
I am beginning to really like the word 'soon' :)
That was so encouraging.... I was a little hesitant to write ( God's Word) which is NEVER a good idea..... to take away from His Word!!
I guess, somewhere in the back of my mind, was the thought or worry, what if an unbeliever were to read God rides on clouds, they might think: "Oh boy, Christians are really into myths" or something like that.
But when you reminded me of how we will be raptured.... The Truth is the TRUTH
And there are so many many things unbelievers scoff at what Christians believe not just that... but a zillion other things
Like Creation being about 6,000 years old or there are only men and women or that there is sin heaven and Hell and the list goes on and on.
They are going to sneer, scoff, dislike and even hate us, anyway ( unless God calls them, by His Word).
They won't like us or think we are smart by leaving out the 'hard' stuff in fact, 'hate' speech is already making headway.
So if they hated and scoffed at Jesus ( Creator)...
Wow, I need to ask forgiveness for that!!! And never do that again!
Well, I am thinking maybe clouds have been a judgment like in Noah's flood maybe? But were clouds a part of what caused the flood? Up to that time, I am thinking there were no clouds?

The waters from the sea will dry up, And the river will be parched and dry. Isaiah 19:5
Egypt depends mostly on the Nile for its water supply. There is not a lot of rain there. Therefore, it's false gods and man-made idols will be no help. This will be an utter disaster.
So this catastrophe is added to the civil war!! With such a great reduction in water, it does not matter what fortifications, weapons, number of soldiers, etc. you might have.... Water is of the utmost physical priority.
The canals will emit a stench, The streams of Egypt will thin out and dry up; The reeds and rushes will rot away. Isaiah 19:6
This shows how silly and useless it would be for Israel to rely on Egypt ( instead of on the True all powerful God).
The bulrushes by the Nile, by the edge of the Nile And all the sown fields by the Nile Will become dry, be driven away, and be no more. Isaiah 19:7
I think they must have found various uses for the bulrushes and in the future when the Nile is so low, and all these things dry up, it will all add to Egypt's misery, and Egypt will be unable to help any other country, having way too many emergencies, in its own country.
This next verse would be an inevitable outcome also:
And the fishermen will lament, And all those who cast a line into the Nile will mourn, And those who spread nets on the waters will pine away. Isaiah 19:8
The loss of the fishing business would be a tremendous blow also.
Fish is the first thing listed when the Jews were 'fondly' remembering their captivity in Egypt:
We remember the fish which we used to eat free in Egypt, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic. Numbers 11:5
How quickly a strong nation can be brought to its knees! it might behoove us in our day to remember this!
Done for today.

Sorry I wasn't here yesterday, I was too sick, but am better now. I don't know if there were clouds or not during Noah's time. I'm sure there could have been, since nothing is beyond God's ability. But since we weren't around then, it's hard to say. We'll have to ask Noah when we get to heaven. “And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.” (Genesis 7:10) I went back and checked in Gen 7 about how the flood came about, and this is what MacArthur and others say: A worldwide rain for forty days and forty nights is impossible in post-Flood atmospheric conditions, but not then. The canopy that covered the whole earth (see note on Genesis 1:7), a thermal water blanket encircling the earth, was to be condensed and dumped all over the globe. “So God made the expanse and separated the water below the expanse from the water above the expanse. And it was so.” (Genesis 1:7) below the expanse. Refers to subterranean reservoirs (Genesis 7:11). above the expanse. This could possibly have been a canopy of water vapor which acted to make the earth like a hothouse, provided uniform temperature, inhibited mass air movements, caused mist to fall, and filtered out ultraviolet rays, thus extending life. “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.” (Genesis 7:11) The subterranean waters sprang up from inside the earth to form the seas and rivers (Gen 1:10; Gen 2:10–14), which were not produced by rainfall (since there was none), but by deep fountains in the earth. The celestial waters in the canopy encircling the globe were dumped on the earth and joined with the terrestrial and the subterranean waters (cf. Gen 1:7). This ended the water canopy surrounding the earth and unleashed the water in the earth; together these phenomena began the new system of hydrology that has since characterized the earth (see Job 26:8; Ecc 1:7; Is 55:10; Am 9:6). The sequence in this verse, indicating that the earth’s crust breaks up first, then the heavens drop their water, is interesting because the volcanic explosions that would have occurred when the earth fractured would have sent magma and dust into the atmosphere, along with gigantic sprays of water, gas, and air—all penetrating the canopy triggering its downpour. The MacArthur study Bible
You're right, since they're going to make fun of us anyway, we might as well tell them the actual truth first. I love what else you wrote!

More and more bad news:
Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combed flax And the weavers of white cloth will be utterly dejected. Isaiah 19:9
Drought and the drying up of the Nile to an extremely low level, will cause all manner of unemployment, such as the manufacturers of linen.
And the pillars of Egypt will be crushed; All the hired laborers will be grieved in soul. Isaiah 19:10
The pillars ( the economy) on which the society relies on, is going to be crushed. And that will cause the people to become very depressed and dejected.
The princes of Zoan are mere fools; The advice of Pharaoh's wisest advisers has become stupid. How can you men say to Pharaoh, "I am a son of the wise, a son of ancient kings"? Isaiah 19:11
The government is; incompetent, blundering, foolish, and not able to deal with the issues... Instead they flatter and lie to the pharaoh.
This kind of reminds me of our times.
Well then, where are your wise men? Please let them tell you, And let them understand what the Lord of hosts Has purposed against Egypt. Isaiah 19:12
These men who are puffed up with pride, in their egos, thinking they are wise, and yet, they don't seem to grasp the danger.
The problem most likely is, they depended on their 'magic'. and were actually pretenders and frauds... so how could they tell what they did not know?

I don't want to take away from what you're posting, but this part that you have already begun should be a warning to everyone: “Where are your wise men now? Let them show you and make known what the LORD Almighty has planned against Egypt. The officials of Zoan have become fools, the leaders of Memphis are deceived; the cornerstones of her peoples have led Egypt astray. The LORD has poured into them a spirit of distortion; they make Egypt stagger in all that she does, as a drunkard staggers around in his vomit.” (Isaiah 19:12–14) God is showing us just how ridiculous it is to think that we're smarter than He is or that we can do anything to change what He has said. When He says something is a sin, that's the bottom line. We can't change it. The best we can do is pretend to change it. Just like adults are pretending they're a different sex than they really are now. This reminds me of what He says in Romans 1, because the word that's translated "distortion" means distorting, perverting, or warping their thinking and feelings. Now let's look at what He says in Romans 1: “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:21) and “Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22) and “Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” (Romans 1:28) A depraved mind is one that's insane, like a woman saying she's a man and actually believing it. Both in Isaiah and in Romans, God says they become fools. What does God mean by that? Let's look and see what a fool is according to the Bible. According to Prov 10:23, a food finds pleasure in evil, in Prov 14:16 they're hotheaded and reckless. Prov 28:26 says they trust themselves instead of God. Psalm 14:1 says they don't believe in God, they're corrupt and do evil, Psalm 94:6-8 says they despise wisdom and say that God doesn't see what they do. Finally, Jer 4:22 says that fools don't know Him and don't know how to do good. (If you hold your mouse over the Bible reference, you'll see the verse itself.) That sure sounds like what people are like today.
What's really amazing to me is that God tells us that we don't learn from our past. We learn over and over again from the Old Testament, how people sinned against God, but thought they were wise. How fools governed nations and brought them to ruin, and how evil ran rampant. Just as we see in the above scriptures. God says that Egypt was foolish and evil, and we're seeing that again today in all the countries of the world. That's what God tells us here too: “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9–10) But thankfully, after punishing it, God will put an end to the fools and to all evil. That's a day we long for, for God will remove our sin nature completely and we will be spotless and pure the way He intended us to be. Sadly, the fools who don't turn from their sins will spend eternity in Hell, while we spend eternity with our God in new heavens and a new earth! So when you hear or see something that makes you think that the person or people are literally crazy, you can know that you're right. They probably are. Please know though that God only gives people a depraved mind who already have one. He just makes it permanent when they're shown they have no desire to change. ,

Absolutely loved your input!!!! Thank you so much :) And I copied most of the verses and put them on Facebook.
Haha believe it or not... I knew about holding the mouse over the Bible reference, to see the verse itself...
You have been so very helpful that way...I don't remember when you told me that
After all... it 'ONLY' takes about 50 times of you telling me... and about 10 years.... of me... trying to learn it
and Lo and Behold, I got it :)
But thank you because ummmm sometimes... maybe often, I forget stuff, sigh!
So don't stop reminding me or helping me
I just wanted you to know at least one of the things you taught me stuck

It seems to me that I am frequently seeing parallels, between those ancient days, and today!
The princes of Zoan have acted foolishly, The princes of Memphis are deluded; Those who are the cornerstone of her tribes Have led Egypt astray. Isaiah 19:13
The councilors of Zoan were foolish and deluded! That sounds familiar, for sure, to me.
In their pride and vanity, they thought they were wise, but they deceived themselves, and were deluded. Without God and God's wisdom, this is the ultimate outcome, they will eventually become insane.
I am seeing a lot of that today, and the further away people go from God, the crazier their insanity.
The Lord has mixed within her a spirit of distortion; They have led Egypt astray in all that it does, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit. Isaiah 19:14
Their councils were perverted, as well as unwise. God, just adds to their stupidity, a type of giddy, dizziness, so that they were drunk on their own proud self-deception, and they vomited up ruinous theories, notions, fancies, councils, etc.
The result being:
There will be no work for Egypt Which its head or tail, its palm branch or bulrush, may do. Isaiah 19:15
The people ( no matter rich or poor, high or low ranking) will be so stupefied, that nothing they do or plan, will be successful.
It will not be rational or sensible, nor fruitful. There is no real sane council, only folly.
Hummm, again, this is beginning to seem rather familiar to our day.
We went to a Bible study at Calvary last night, that went on a wee bit long, so I am tired today. Staying up at night, is no longer like when I was a teenager haha. Done for Today

I'm glad you liked what I wrote, I like what you did too! You're not alone in it taking you a lot of times before you remember something. I'm the same way except I learn it because I constantly mess something up and have to fix whatever it is. I especially like what you said about pride and how we should watch out for it.
I almost forgot but I meant to tell you that I wrote that about seeing the scripture when you hover your mouse over it, for other people, cause I was pretty sure you already knew that!

In that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in dread because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He is going to wave over them. Isaiah 19:16
They will be terrified, fainthearted, tremulous, timid, panicky etc.
The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting, They stay in the strongholds; Their strength is exhausted They are becoming like women;... Jeremiah 51:30
Because the waving of His hand threatens a judgment of God.
The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt; everyone to whom it is mentioned will be in dread of it, because of the purpose of the Lord of hosts which He is purposing against them. Isaiah 19:17
I think the words 'will become' point to the future. Certainly when Jesus comes again, most nations will have to change their viewpoint, concerning Israel ( and of course God).
In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will be speaking the language of Canaan and swearing allegiance to the Lord of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction Isaiah 19:18
Now we read of... 'that day',.. so in the future, Some Egyptians will be converted. They will give up their superstitions and idols and worship the true God.
That alone is miraculous.. 5 cities out of 6!
The Lord of Hosts, is Jesus.
And they will be speaking Hebrew it seems.
That kind of reminds me, of when people sometimes, scorn Christians for speaking 'Christian-ese'.
It is a part of the whole being born again. We speak 'Bible' a lot. It's not that we are trying to put unbelievers off, it's because we belong to a new kingdom... A part of that, is a new language. We find such comfort, knowledge, hope etc., it is hard not to naturally speak the language of our true home.
There is some thought this was the city of the sun, Heliopois, the home of the Egyptian sun god.... but perhaps, it also refers to all who did not convert, and remained in their sins.
