I've been doing John MacArthur's Daily Bible ( study) So I will mostly camp on what I am learning from that daily reading, which includes a portion from the Old Testament, and a Psalm, and a Proverb, and a section of the New Testament.
Today reading and studying was in the OT Jeremiah 21:1-22-30
I couldn't help but think of our country ( USA) when reading the judgments on Israel which had become an Apostate Nation. It had ignored God and followed all their sins with abandon ( like our country).
And so God finally says:
Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death. Jeremiah 21:8
But this was not a good thing, life meant being captives and never seeing their land again. They were under divine judgment!
This cycle seems to repeat over and over, men continue to rebel and sin and God gives consequences in increasing severity.
So now Israel was going to be slaughtered by the Babylonians or be taken into captivity.
In this passage Jeremiah gives 5 kings the word from God (Josiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoiakim, Jehoiachin, and Zedekiah)
King Zedekiah is kind of wishy-washy, weak and cowardly ( he reminds me a bit of our President now) . But his groveling ways does end well, Israel is doomed, and undergod's divine judgment, as I think our country is.
Our country has slipped ( in my opinion) into absolute, utter insanity. It's godlessness, has turned everything evil:
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
But as Christians ( and for me) the proverb for today in part... gave me this reminder to stay in God's word:
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. Psalms 119:9
The proverb was just one verse
He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning, It will be reckoned a curse to him. Proverbs 27:14
it reminded me of how 'loud' voices have become today.
And the NT was I Thessalonians 5:1-28
And it fits ( in my mind, perfectly with the OT passage for today)
2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. 3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape 1 Thessalonians 5
This day of the Lord is the future coming judgment. Today, if, people talk about God at all it almost, exclusively about: God loves you...just as you are, you do you etc.
The righteously angry and furious God over evil and sin, is not allowed, in today's culture....
that part of God's nature has been canceled, banned, is considered hate speech etc.
However, people cannot escape God's plan He will not let people sin this way forever. In fact, an almost forgotten fact, is there will be eternal punishment for unbelievers.
But as a believer
For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Thessalonians 5:9
I could write more, but again, I am very tired. Prayerfully, I will do a bit better tomorrow.

Yesterday, I did my daily Bible study, but.... I did not get here to write about it
So today, I am hoping I can combine today's study and yesterdays. It may seem like just one day, but note, it is a combination of two days. I will just focus on the highlights of what I learned this time, reading ( because it covers a lot of ground).
The two day reading covered Jeremiah 23-26:24
23 1 “Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!”
I keep seeing a connecting to the days I am living in now. In my opinion, there seems to be a lot of 'shepherds' ( pastors ) who are false teachers, who are destroying and scatter the sheep ( People).
5 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.
But this verse reminded me to 'look up' Jesus came once to save me ( and millions of other people throughout the centuries) and He is coming back ( the rapture, and after the 7 year tribulation, for a 1000 year reign) So I am not to be too concerned:
we know that for those who love God all things work together for good... Romans 8:28
Furthermore, if the false pastors do not repent then I am thinking, that not unlike the false prophets in Jeremiah's day, their outcome sooner or later will not be good.
11 “Both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in my house I have found their evil, declares the Lord. 12 Therefore their way shall be to them like slippery paths in the darkness, into which they shall be driven and fall, for I will bring disaster upon them in the year of their punishment, declares the Lord.
This IMO is what many false teachers do this very day ( things have not really changed much!)
16 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. 17 They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, ‘No disaster shall come upon you.’”
God says this about the false prophets ( and again, I think this applies to the false pastors and prophets of our day and age.)
21 “I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.
25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying,‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ 26 How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart, 27 who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal? 28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream,
This reminds me that God's Word ( the Bible, is like no other word, anywhere and therefore I should stay in it....daily!)
29 Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? God's Word will be irresistible to those God has chosen.
Nobody really listened to Jeremiah and in fact, they threatened to kill him. I think this could even be taken as a warning that we ( I) Christians, may have to endure suffering... but Jeremiah is an example of suffering with the right attitude... he did not crumple, and tremble in fear of men and their threats.
I did not get as far as I had hoped for today.... So I will continue tomorrow.
Done for today

Will make an effort to finish the two previous days and maybe....get to today. We shall see :)
The psalm for the past two days was psalm 119:17-32
Gimel 17 Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word. 18 Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. 19 I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me! 20 My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times. 21 You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments. 22 Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies. 23 Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes. 24 Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.
Daleth 25 My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word! 26 When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes! 27 Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works. 28 My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! 29 Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law! 30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me. 31 I cling to your testimonies, O Lord; let me not be put to shame! 32 I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart! psalm 119:17-32
This prayer is most important, asking God to open my eyes to His Word, and helping me to understand it. Also to keep me from falseness.... that is so necessary in today's world, where falseness, and lies abound!
The proverb that 'spoke' to me was:
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another Proverbs 27:17
This is one reason I think that God tells us
not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near Hebrews 10:25
By being together, we can encourage one another, learn more about God's Word, etc. all things that aid in building a godly character.
The New Testament portion was 2 Thessalonians 1-2:17:
Warning to those unsaved or defected ( never were saved) or abandonment of God. And about the anti-christ.
All sad and could be scary but believers ( me) are to stand firm, be grateful and thankful to our Savior.
I will see if I can at least start on, if not even finish Today's study but this one is done for now.

Todays study was: Jeremiah 27-28:17
I loved how God once again is super clear: He is the creator.... period!
....‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: This is what you shall say to your masters:
5 “It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth Jeremiah 27:4,5
Also, once again a straight up warning, about: false prophets, dreamers, sorcerers, false teacher....etc. and like, as in those days, they are abounding, awash, abundant etc..... in our day.
Interestingly, like in Jeremiah's day, they often teach: prosperity, peace, no problems, all is well etc.
However God said:
I have not sent them, declares the Lord, but they are prophesying falsely in my name ... Jeremiah 27:15
Also, it does not really pay to be a false prophet, such as Hananiah who lied to the people. Jeremiah prophesied Hananiah would die with the year and he did die in that time frame.
The psalm for today was: 119:33-40
Asking God to teach us (me) from His word teach things like understanding, and keeping my eyes from false vanity etc.
God's Word and His character are the same absolute truth, trustworthy, eternal, pure etc.
The proverb 27:18 caring for our Master's things (God), will give us honor in the end.
New Testament: 2 thessalonians 3:1-18
Warnings not to be 'buddy buddy' with sinning believers (blatantly disobedient, unrepentant pattern of sinning) nor those who won't work and what should be done (with compassion)
This is a bit shorter and I am fighting a new cold Devon brought home LOL Actually Leonard is off buying me some cold medicine as I am typing).

Today's study was:
Jeremiah 29:1-30:24
Again the warning about false prophets, teachers, dreamers etc.
And Jeremiah gives the exact number of years they will be in Babylon: 70 years.
But with God, there is always a chance of forgiveness ( well as long as one lives, some people are too far gone and that is so so sad)
But God said this:
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart... Jeremiah 29:13
However false teachers and prophets etc. have and still preach rebellion against God. I am seeing some terrible rebellion in some churches these days. They may call themselves a Christian church, but they are apostate and are not Christian.
Jeremiah also speaks of the tribulation period, the time of Jacob's distress... but also with encouraging words, even in severe discipline, such as these verses:
...do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar... Jeremiah 30:10
‘For I am with you, ’ declares the Lord, ‘to save you; Jeremiah 30:11
And
‘You shall be My people, And I will be your God.’” Jeremiah 30:22
The psalm was 119:41-48
Trusting in God's Word.
The New Testament was 1 Timothy 1-20
Also some warnings about
...instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, 4 nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, ... 1 Timothy 1:3,4
This is certainly something we need to be alert about in this day and age, as well.
Rather: But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 1 Timothy 1:5

Thank you Cindy
I think 'in part' my Bronchiectasis is playing a part in causing frequent infections... Coughing tiredness etc. etc.
For a long time, it did not seem to bother me a whole lot but now I am wondering if this ( partial definition) is not getting worse ( over time)
"Bacteria grows in the mucus, causing more inflammation and damage to your lungs.
This makes you cough a lot as your body tries to remove the infected mucus.
You might have stretches of time where your symptoms aren’t as bad and then have a flare-up (exacerbation) where your symptoms get worse. Exacerbation symptoms include:
Extreme tiredness (fatigue). Fever, chills. Increased shortness of breath."
But I am going to try to give it a go today :)

Today OT reading was Jeremiah 39:1-40-16
What stood out to me, was the seemingly constant threat Jeremiah was under! People did not like hearing God's Word!
You might think that the people ( king, men of war etc.) could have just 'ignored' him as a nut case...
But there seems to be a 'problem'... God's word is not so easily dismissed! People want to silence it,, in whatever way will work! So they tried to kill Jeremiah, imprison him etc.
This has continued throughout history England now is trying to pass a law that if a person prays out loud, kneels, etc etc. in front of an abortion clinic they can be arrested, fined, and even put in prison!
So rather than the Bible being a book that has no relevance today, it turns out...it could have been written as today's news!
Therefore the psalm for today 119:81-88 'spoke' to me:
My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word. Psalm:119:81
but also the guilty conscience of the sinners who would throw people in prison for what they consider wrong thinking and speaking (i.e. praying):
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1
And the NT reading was: 1 Timothy 6:1-21
In this passage the apostle Paul speaks to Timothy of different things that false teachers teach Like:
a different doctrine, that is in opposition to God's Word, and against a godly life.
Also some of their character traits is a love of money etc.
then Paul encourages Timothy to fight the good fight of faith ( kind of like Jeremiah!)
we are really fighting a war with Satan's kingdom of darkness! We need to keep the priority of eternity and eternal life.
I keep falling asleep So I'm done for today.

Sorry you're still not feeling well hon. I posted in chat about my doctors appointment. (I try to post there every weekday and occasionally on weekends.) I sure hope you start feeling better soon!
Good post! I completely agree. It's weird because you'd think that people would realize that it's completely irrational for them to get so angry about the Bible or churches or Christians. We could point out numerous examples of other things that people totally disagree about, and yet they don't hate others for saying the opposite. For example, one person may say that unicorns were a real animal that's now extinct and their best friend may say that's not true; but it wouldn't bother their friendship at all. Or as you pointed out too, no one uses the name of Buddha, or Zeus, or George Washington, or Pilot, Mary, or any of the disciples as cuss words. The only one they use is the Name of our Lord, Jesus. There's only one thing that comes close to the way the unsaved hate God, His Word and us, His children, and its only really started recently. I'm talking about the way Democrats and Republicans have been treating each other ever since Obama ran for president the first time. That has broken up friendships. However, I don't know if it's true about everyone, but many of the republican's are Christians, so it may still be a case of the unsaved against the saved. Only God knows that for sure though.
I've been researching a lot in the Bible lately about what God says about the Truth and lies. I have to admit that I've been amazed at what the Lord has been showing me. Lately I've been saying things like, "I never noticed that before!" and "Wow, that's amazing!" and just finding a lot of things that show for sure that we are in the last days of the Age of Grace. I'm also seeing a great deal of scriptures that show that the more evil prevails, the more deceit there is in society and the less truth is around. Obviously we're seeing that in our society today.
It's so interesting to me because Truth is represented by the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God's children, and deceit is represented by the Satan, the Antichrist and the false prophet, and Satan's children. Truth is also represented by light, and deceit by darkness. And so on. And the world is certainly growing darker ever day.
Instead of being depressing though, it should cause us to shine up our crowns and look up, for our salvation is much closer now than before!

I too have been saying...I didn't see that before.... someone recently said ( talking about the Garden of Eden.....) that Adam and Eve 'chose'.... death.
I always 'focused' on: knowledge
good and evil
Did God really say?
etc.
But in fact...
( they did choose evil....
even IF... they did not know 'what'death was....
but you would have thought, they would have trusted that IF God said it was bad then, that would be that!)

I'm not sure it would be accurate to say that they literally chose death. Mainly because Eve was deceived and didn't sin directly like Adam did. God didn't tell her not to eat the fruit from that tree, He told Adam and Adam told her. It would be true about Adam because he knew exactly what he was doing when he went along with Eve. But the Bible tells us that Eve chose to eat the fruit for three reasons, and there's no mention of death here: “When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” (Genesis 3:6) To me that's typical of Satan, to get your focus off the negative consequences of your sin and put them on something you want instead. Eve did tell Satan that God had said that if they ate that fruit they'd die, but then Satan convinced her that wasn't true. Since it was Adam that told her about it and not God Himself, she was easily convinced of that lie. I could be wrong, but I don't see it being true of Eve, only of Adam. He quite literally chose Eve over God, lies over truth, darkness over light, and death over life. Just like we often do as well.

Yes, I agree with all you said :) But still, the result ended up, being death was chosen
It reminds me of when a person signs up for something and pages and pages of legalism follows.
Most people don't read, and study all the legal gobbledygook
They just agree
But hidden and buried deep in all that legal blather could be some very serious stuff ( that at a later date, you might wish you had read it and knew how vulnerable .
It seems like the idea to know good, and be like God was the selling point....
but how quickly, people ditch their 'love' for God for some self aggrandizement, self-actualization and other such foolishness.
In our day right now, deception is running rampant.

I will do a quick recap of the weekend ( just some highlights)
Oct. 28 OT reading was Jeremiah 41:1-42:22 God tells the people not to be afraid. I notice how often God has to tell us that.... ( especially me...but I am so glad he does!)
The psalm was 110-89-96
And the first verse is an old favorite ( especially in a time when everything is changing almost by the hour, it is comforting o know that God's Word is the absolute truth and is eternal)
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.: Psalms 119:89t
The NT reading was 2 Timothy 1:1-18
What especially jumped out at me ( this reading, this time) was verse 7
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
it seemed to me to fit in with the OT 'fear not"
It is pointing to a cowardly ( here I am hiding under the covers) weak character ( maybe due to selfish self preservation? I need to love others above myself)
In any case my fearfulness, does not come from God and if I think about the past, God has up to this point ( 77 years) provided help and a way out of every dangerous situation. ( God is not bound to do that....but He has).
I think I will do Sat. on a separate page as I am once again falling asleep and don't want to keep this open and then lose it.

Oct 29th Jeremiah 43:1-44:30
Arrogant men did not obey God's voice. God blesses men with all sorts of gifts and we think they are just our own...and this ungrateful attitude does not please God. In fact, it can get the point when God will give them over to death (because of their wickedness).
These men Jeremiah was dealing with did not ever become contrite ( God can and will forgive, if and when a person becomes contrite:
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalm 51:17
Not everybody can afford to go to Harvard, Yale or Dartmouth but interestingly God says in Psalm 119:97-104 we can essentially increase our knowledge and wisdom:
Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine. 99 I have more insight than all my teachers,... Psalm 119:98,99
NT was 2 Timothy 2:1-26
The Christian life is a life of warfare ( among other things) and thus we are not to get entangled in the world.
3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus 4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 2 Timothy 2:3,4
There is the evil world system, our own sin, and Satan and his demons.
but this is also comforting ( well not the denying part, but it is a warning):
11 It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; 12 If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:11-13
We are also to avoid worldly empty chatter
and
24...not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition 2 Timothy 2:24-25

OT Lamentations 3:1-5:22
Jeremiah was broken hearted that God was not answering his prayers. Jeremiah understood that God had to deal with the unrepentant sins of the people, but that they did not repent, sadden him also, to the point of being sick.
And yet as bleak as the outlook for the future ( for a tim, Jeremiah also knew that God's lovingkindness was always there. Something I need to keep reminding myself daily!
21 This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. 22 The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” 25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him. 26 It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:21-26
In addition some more hope filled words:
31 For the Lord will not reject forever, 32 For if He causes grief, Then He will have compassion According to His abundant lovingkindness. 33 For He does not afflict willingly... Lamentations 3:31-33
NT Philemon:1-25
Paul wrote this while in a Roman prison, and his hardships were severe, so what he is asking Philemon to do what is the easier task.
He does not ask Philemon to free his slave, Onesimus but rather to treat him justly and kindly as a brother in Christ.
I know the very thought of true slavery is an extremely hard subject, but in some respects, we all have someone in authority over us. If we work, we have a boss..who will tell his or her employees, what to do and when to do it.
and therein lies the problem! Most people do not like being told what to do nor when to do it. Furthermore, some in authority are not just or kind.
However, if the situation is between two Christians that conflict ought to be near zero, as both people are doing their best to get the job done ( yes) but more than that, to show the love of Jesus.
And tho most humans have someone in authority over them, they often find themselves in authority over someone also.
So Christian kindness and love ought to be the rule.

It's kind of like a see-saw....up and down. For example I had a real sore throat ( I cannot even remember when I had the last one...maybe as a child?) No sleep last night and a bloody nose
My voice is worse and I can barely talk
But still, sometimes, I feel 'good'...for me not perfect of course but pretty good.
Thank you so so much for asking and wishing me to feel better ( that is your kind heartedness :),
and thank you for letting me know my Bible study is ok. :)
I did my Bible study today but Leonard wants to go shopping with me and I need to take a shower and am very sleepy So if I can work a bit on it when I get back today.....
but I will have to put stuff away and with no sleep I will probably fall asleep. :(

Maybe I should have titled this my almost once a week Bible study? Prayerfully, I will eventually be back to 'Daily'.
This seems to be the endless cold! Leonard finally got it yesterday, and I jokingly told him to make friends with it, because it does not seem to want to leave.
I am going to try to post a bit on what I studied today.

OT Ezekiel 7:1-8-18
For some reason this seemed to perhaps be God speaking to the world this very day.
‘An end!
The end is coming on the four corners of the land...
Now the end is upon you..
I will judge you according to your ways and bring all your abominations upon you.
I will bring your ways upon you...
‘A disaster, unique disaster, behold it is coming!
6 An end is coming; the end has come..
Your doom has come to you...
The time has come, the day is near— tumult rather than joyful shouting..
10 ‘Behold, the day! Behold, it is coming! Your doom has gone forth; the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed. 11 Violence has grown into a rod of wickedness.
26 Disaster will come upon disaster and rumor will be added to rumor;
Portions of Ezekiel 7
That just sounded, to me, like a summary of the news headlines these days.
But I learned something I never knew before (reading ch. 8) from the explanatory note by John MacArthur
Then He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the Lord’s house which was toward the north; and behold, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz Ezekiel 8:14
In the past I always sort of skipped over that, I did not know who this Tammuz was they were weeping for.
Turns out he was considered to be the beloved of Ishtar, the 'god' od Spring vegetation. Since the vegetation burned in the summer and died in the winter, but came back to life in the Spring, the women were mourning this so called, 'god's' demise.
But not only that MacArthur pointed out that to this day the 4th month of the Hebrew calendar still bears the name Tammuz!
The NT reading was Hebrews 4:1-16
Which has one of my favorite verses:
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart Hebrews 4:12
I always feel this verse goes with this verse:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
God's Word is alive and is God, it can be a great comfort and aid in changing believers to be more like Jesus.... However, To nonbelievers, it can be deadly and a tool of execution.
It is not that the soul and spirit are two different entities, ( his immaterial, inner eternal self) but rather it expresses fullness... just like thoughts and intentions are totally separate.

You did a great job Barbara! What you posted also reminds me of todays headlines, which is why I rarely see the news lol. I'd rather not read the news since I already know what's going to happen from God's Word. The little bit I wind up seeing or hearing from what other people tell me is more then enough to tell me that everything is going according to God's plan. Therefore, I don't need to worry about anything.

I am going to start with Nov. 9th study Which was Ezekiel 9:1-10:22
The glory of God departs, it leaves in kind of stages. It leaves after God has shown incredible patience, but the sin and perversion is very very great.
If God will leave them up, how much more will He leave our generation?
Still as for the individual Christian the psalm I read is encouraging:
1.....From where shall my help come? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
7 The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. 8 The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in From this time forth and forever.
Psalms 121:1,2,7,8
Hebrews 5:1-14
11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing
Hebrews 5:11
Spiritual laziness is a constant issue we need to fight against, and if we suffer from it, we cannot really grow more, and it would be of no advantage to us anyway because we would not have to ability to understand and additional teaching.
Nov. 10 Ezekiel 11:1-12:28
God said to the men in Ezekiel's day ( and to our day as well, I think)
2......the men who devise iniquity and give evil advice... 5....I know your thoughts.... Ezekiel 11:2,5
We might like to think our thoughts are our private domain, but while it is true, Satan, nor his demons can know our thoughts... But, God can and does!
Still even tho, God will judge and there are consequences God still loves us and gives loving promises of restoration, as He does to Israel.:
17 ‘Thus says the Lord God, “I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’
19 19 And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh..........
.....Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God. Ezekiel 11:11:17,19,20
Nevertheless this still remains to this day:
2...you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house. Ezekiel 12:2
Ezekiel is told to prepare his baggage for exile, I thought: and I must prepare my heart for a removal from here as well.
the false prophets were telling the people only the things they wished to hear, and said that Ezekiel's doom and gloom prophecies were not true
But then God said this to that generation ( how much more perhaps for our generation) :
23 ” But tell them, “The days draw near as well as the fulfillment of every vision.
25 For I the Lord will speak, and whatever word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it,” declares the Lord God.’”
28 Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God, “None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be performed,” declares the Lord God. Ezekiel 12:23,25,28
Then NT We are in fact, to grow in the Word of God, the Bible:
Hebrews 6:1-20
1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity,.... Hebrews 6:1
We are not to forget the basics ( that is not the meaning of 'leaving) rather we are to grow deeper.
Another important verse, especially in these days of endless lies and lying, we can find absolute truth in God and His Word:
...it is impossible for God to lie... Hebrews 6:18

That was great! This helps remind me of things that I want to bring up in the Bible Study I'm doing with my neighbor too, so thank you! Talking about how God is angry reminds me of what I read in one of my notes in Daniel. It's from one of MacArthur's books. "Like Nebuchadnezzar, every lost person needs to understand that God is exceedingly angry with him. He must be confronted with the reality that he stands in inevitable judgment before a holy God who must react to his sin. What about you? Will you be like Daniel and warn the lost to flee God’s wrath? Like Jonathan Edwards, may this be your message: Let every one that is yet out of Christ, and hanging over the pit of hell, whether they be old men and women, or middle aged, or young people, or little children, now hearken to the loud calls of God’s word and providence. . . . Awake and fly from the wrath to come (Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, p. 32)."
My brain isn't working right at the moment...I seem to recall that you already saw my post about the amazing sermon MacArthur preached. But just in case my memory is wrong, here's a link to it as I'm sure you'll love it! I posted it in chat the other day, but just now reposted it in it's own thread here:
fresh-hope.com/thread/7621/hear-incredible-god
I have a new praise report that shows how incredible our God is, if you'd like to read it. It's in the chat thread: fresh-hope.com/thread/7452/chat-32-gods-temple?page=6&scrollTo=39125

I am going to try and get at least one day's study done ( even if it's only short and sweet...well maybe not exactly 'sweet'... but even when God punishes He is always 'just' and it has a good and godly purpose
So all the way back to Nov. 11
Old Testament reading was: Ezekiel 13:1-14-23
It's amazing how false prophets then ( and even today) cancel the truth ( about sin, coming judgment etc. and cancel it as fear mongering hate speech etc.)
The false prophets of Ezekiel's day were kind of like the prosperity preachers of today and they lured the people into a false peace.
Or as Ezekiel's words from God is a
6 They see falsehood and lying divination who are saying, ‘The Lord declares,’ when the Lord has not sent them; yet they hope for the fulfillment of their word.
7 Did you not see a false vision and speak a lying divination when you said, ‘The Lord declares,’ but it is not I who have spoken?”’” Ezekiel 13:6,7
and.... it seems they may have been mixing the occult, with their lies as the women did this:
18......“Woe to the women who sew magic bands on all wrists... 20 Therefore, thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am against your magic bands by which you hunt lives there as birds and I will tear them from your arms; and I will let them go, even those lives whom you hunt as birds. Ezekiel 13:18,20
We may think when we read about 'idols' of those days, that people today do not have wood or stone idols... ( and yet what about Buddha statues, etc.) and we actually do call many singers, actors etc. our 'idols'.
God says this about their idols:
3 “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all? Ezekiel 14:3
God said to them to repent and turn away from their idols However, the people would not, and so God said this:
14 even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves,” declares the Lord God. Ezekiel 14:14
Those three were strong prayer warriors, but their intercessory prayer could not deliver the people of those days... how much less our day?
And the NT reading was:
Hebrews 7
About the somewhat mysterious person Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God.
The reason this was strange is because you were either a royal king or a priest.....but not both.
Furthermore, there was this about Melchizedek:
3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually. Hebrews 7:3
I think this could only be Jesus. and only Jesus can be THE intercessor.
And there is the doctrine of why the Law, made nothing perfect... but actually cursed people. The Levitical system kept people away from God.
Done for today.... Prayrfully God willing I may do one or two days tomorrow
