TV Land Continues to Mock Christianity with New Show 'Impastor'
One Million Moms 7/10/2015
TV Land calls their new program "Impastor" an irreverend new comedy. Christians are calling it disgusting! "Impastor" is a show set to air July 15 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT that includes a man stealing someone's identity who happens to be a pastor. The main character, posing as a gay preacher, recently hired sight unseen by a church that was aware of his lifestyle choice, but then start to notice other characteristics not typical of a pastor. The previews which air earlier in the evening are including the pastor having extensive knowledge of the quality of drugs and insinuating sexual relations with fruit such as cantaloupe. The church secretary catches the pastor sleeping around with women and other behaviors not typical of a Christian, much less a pastor.
This show not only depicts pastors in a negative light, but the entire program will also be based on lies about Christianity. TV Land has crossed the line by belittling the Christian religion with foul jokes.

I've been seeing this advertised and it is utterly disgusting and irreverent. It will get worse.

I hadn't seen this thread and wrote this in the christian chat thread:
I was watching a recording of one of my shows the other day on TV and the commercials were driving me nuts even though I fast forward through them. I was getting so angry about one of them. It's a commercial for a "new program" called "Impastor" about some gay druggie that takes a real pastor's place in a church. But as I was fuming over it, I suddenly thought, you know, you're really being petty getting this upset about it when there are real people, men, women and even children being severely persecuted all over the world for their faith in Christ. What's a little ridicule compared with that? Next thing I knew I was sobbing and crying out to the Lord to protect His children and to help me pray for them. I vowed that every time I'd see that commercial, I would use it as a reminder to pray for them, and so far that's what I've done.

TV Network Thought It Could Mock Christians With New Show–Now It’s Coming Back To Haunt Them
Warner Todd Huston September 4, 2015
The TV Land cable network is wrapping up the first season of its original sitcom titled “Impastor,” a comedy about a fugitive from justice, a drug addict, and a hardcore gambler who has a hand in the death of a gay Lutheran pastor who’s identity he then steals. Presumably, “hilarity” ensues. The show has not received good reviews, but still the folks at Movieguide.org hope to make sure this is the first and only season by organizing a petition to have the anti-Christian show canceled. ...
The show employs as much anti-religious trope as it can and, according to even secular reviewers, seems to go more for controversy than humor.
Now, those at Movieguide.org, a group that aims at redeeming the values of the entertainment industry according to biblical principles, say that the sitcom is so hateful of religion and Christianity that it does not deserve a second season.
Movieguide, founded in 1985 by past president of the Episcopal Radio & Television Foundation, Dr. Ted Baehr, is asking people who care about Christianity to sign a petition to have “Impastor” canceled.

I absolutely hate just seeing the commercials for this show. It's so disgusting. I'm still using it as a reminder to pray for all of those who are being persecuted in any way for their faith though, so at least something good is coming from it.

Another Hollywood production, not worth the time to watch.
