Boston City Hall flies religious flag following Supreme Court decision
Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous. Psalm 112:4
The Christian flag that became the focus of a free speech legal battle that went all the way to the Supreme Court was raised — briefly — outside Boston City Hall on Wednesday to cheers and songs of praise.
The city between 2005 and 2017 approved 284 consecutive applications to fly flags, with no denials before it rejected Shurtleff’s proposal, according to Liberty Counsel, which represented Shurtleff.
The only reason it was denied was because the word "Christian" was on his application, and he was told to replace the word if he wanted approval, Mat Staver,
ALL nine members of the Supreme Court agreed that this action was viewpoint discrimination!
It is very rare to get a 9-0 decision from the High Court.
The unanimous decision magnifies the significance of this case.
The Supreme Court ruled that Boston violated the First Amendment by censoring a private flag in a public forum open to “all applicants” merely because the application referred to it as a “Christian flag.”
The High Court stated the censorship was viewpoint discrimination, and there is no Establishment Clause defense.

I am not exactly certain I understand your comment about Bostonians not caring about anything?
It seemed that they never denied anyone's flag flying request ever ever until.......
it was a 'Christian' one and then that was denied.
What is the term for the Boston accent? I actually think as far as accents go...the accent is kind of cool.
But my personal accent favorites are: Irish French Israeli Jamaican etc.
Ones that don't sound 'pretty' or interesting to me are German and Chinese they are not lyrical or 'musical' to my ear
But that is a 'tad' off the subject of the post yeah? LOL

Perhaps 7....but I mostly find it disturbing and a possible sign of the future in that Christians will be more and more persecuted.
one might say: Well it was just a 'flag' what kind of 'persecution' is that?
However, it was the ONLY flag ever denied!
And Lo and Behold what flag do they deny? Why a 'Christian' one... and one that was denied until....
The Supreme Court had to get involved
That strikes me as pretty serious!
