My words will be in this color today
and Biblical Scriptures with be in this color today
This week I will work on the topic
(which includes forgiveness)
which is how Jesus says others will know we belong to Him;
what does it look like, etc.
I of course,
will be looking at the great love
chapter, ( 1 Corinthians 13 )
4 Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrongs
. 6 Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects,
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
34 “A new command I give you:
Love one another.
As I have loved you,
so you must love one another.
35 By this
everyone will know
that you are my disciples,
if you love one another.”
Perhaps, I might start with
what the secular world considers
love to be
( but is not, what God says it is).
People today, appear to be more:
focuses on what fulfills my needs,
what is good for me etc.
into 'free' 'love' ( meaning sexual promiscuous )
into what the secular worldly person's 'love'
relationships are like.
struggle with the same
They too suffer,
relationships that are not committed,
nor are steadfast,
or even more to the point,
This applies to marriages and friendships.
Speaking of 'godly' friendships
whereby the world see God's love
17 And Jonathan had David reaffirm his oath
out of love for him,
because he loved him
as he loved himself.
1 Samuel 20:17
And of course,
the greatest example ever,
the ultimate self-sacrificing
kind of love,
was Jesus, Himself:
16 This is how we know what love is:
Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.
And we ought to lay down our lives
for our brothers and sisters.
1 John 3:16
9 This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son
into the world that we might live through him.
1 John 4:9
Another 'seemingly' dying
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other,
just as in Christ God forgave you.
Well, this is the 'basic' set up
I am off in the wrong direction Cindy?
