When you sin you worship something besides God, e.g., comfort, success, control, power, pleasure. Fight against temptation by admitting to God that your behavior is wrong—the result of forgetting your identity in Christ and finding your identity in what you believe you need besides him. Don’t be discouraged when you notice what’s captured your heart instead of Jesus. Name it, confess it to God, and ask for forgiveness. Remember, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Even though you have loved something more than God, Jesus is still completely committed to you. He lived, died, was raised, and sent his Spirit for you. Right now he is praying for you, and one day he will come to rescue you completely. Make every effort to remember who you are in Christ. You are not a slave to sin; instead, you belong to Christ (Galatians 2:20). He is more committed to you than you are to yourself. He is more satisfying and attractive than anything else in this world. Begin to have a conversation with your Redeemer. Interact with him as you bring your sins before him and as you tell him about your struggles. He understands what it is like to live in a broken world as a human, and he will give you mercy and grace as you ask (Hebrews 4:14–16).

Beautiful, uplifting and true!!! Thank you so much for posting this!Yes, thanks for posting this. You're both very welcome! I hope you all know that MacArthur offers his devotionals free online:
MacArthur's devotionals are the best and you can read them daily for FREE! My 2 favorites are Drawing Near and Strength for Today; they're better than any other devotionals I've ever read - and I've read lots of them! The Heart of the Matter is another excellent devotional, but it's not by MacArthur. Give yourself a gift to start the New year off right! Besides, you can't go wrong since they're FREE. Of course you can also buy them as either print books or e-books at Amazon. At the link below you'll be given the choice of 4 different devotionals to read from and you can choose to read them or listen to them. You can have them emailed to you or sent to your RSS feed, and of course you can also buy them. Read the Best Devotionals for FREE!

I am trying to get to the site for the devotionals, internet is slow! Aha got there :) But it is no longer free....shipping is free tho. No, It's there. I have no idea what you did, but if you click on the link I give in that thread, it takes you directly to the next reading in Drawing Near. I took a screenshot of the page it takes you to because I thought it might help you find the page on your own if you lose the link, or this site goes away, or you don't save the page to your bookmarks and can't remember how to get there, ...etc.
I didn't get a picture of the whole page, because where the sceenshots ends it's the reading from Drawing Near for today. Notice that it gives you the option of 4 different devotionals you can read from. Here's the link from the other thread. I still can't imagine how you managed to wind up anywhere else except for where the link takes you... www.gty.org/library/devotionals

Okay....this time it went to Feb 25 Living in a Worthy Manner
Which I shall read...but is there more? Free devotionals, and how do I find them on the site?
I see there was a book or booklet shown at the bottom, which must have been what I clicked on?
You wondering what I did, reminds me of a Christian sewing teacher
who.... after I paid for one paid , never charged me again....
Because I was like a human sewing puzzle and she thought I was .....'AMAZING'!!!
Amazing, How could I make such a mess? LOLOLOL
She thought I was a hoot, she would always laugh, and say: How did you do that?
And she actually enjoyed, trying to figure out what I did I do, how did I do it and she would figure out how to fix it.
I guess, I am just blessed that way.... perhaps I have a very rare talent LOL

Did you look at the screen shot? Do you see the names of the different devotionals along the top? Did you notice that each one is on a different "tab"? So you click on the name of the one you want to read.
