Moving Day! During a storm, during a dark, dark day… During a rainy NW Oregon coast day… I opened the door to my house… Outside, right next to our garden gate ...there was a moving van...and in the van there were a huge number of empty picture frames …they were of all sorts and varieties… some drab...some fancy...some colorful... big and small... but all somewhat worn ...They filled the entire interior of the large moving van to it’s ceiling ….and the pull down back door was wide open… and as an artist I was concerned because the rain was pouring down with so much force that it was getting on the frames and potentially ruining them… I slammed open my front door and started to race out to warn the driver !!!…
….And I woke up!!
...upon reflection I realised that only the frames were getting damaged...the paintings were safe…The paintings were already removed ... and that the master artist was about to come to reclaim his miraculous and beautiful creations… His masterpieces ...His gifts to the world...
We are his creations!... And he has prepared new frames for us that will best show the true beauty of his creation ...and when we will be displayed in our new home we will be living masterpieces of love, humility, charity, patience, majesty, suffering, worship, wisdom, and honor.. And unlike a painting in a museum we will be HIS living words ...the... “word made flesh”… and if we have music will we not sing mighty and glorious psalms to our creator so that all who have ‘ears to hear’ ...to speak.. to sing…, will we not become suffused with joy? .. and rise up and dance and sing the very best, most grace-filled odes to He ..who is the Alpha and the Omega! ... The mighty one of Israel … in whose presence we now are being hosted!! Hallelujah and again Hallelujah… let us praise the Creator of all things…!! And let us serve! ....Let us serve!

That reminds me of the song Blessed Assurance. Glory be to God.

The following incident happened to me about 2 weeks ago...
I was just finishing up my computer time... at about 11:00 pm ...Bed time... and someone told me "Leonard wait for the Word!" ...I looked around and wondered where the voice had come from... (it was not like a thought or an impression...it was like a person was right next to me...speaking aloud...and while not thundering ...none-the-less loud...) I looked around and of course there was no one there just me and the voice.. which then said again to me...."Wait for the Word!".. While I could not find the being that said these words to me ... I did understand that it referred to Jesus..
Our pastor is going to be speaking on 1 John this next Sunday... and this epistle certainly refers to 'The Word'... I wait with an open heart..

Sounds like it is important for you to know, and a blessing. Saying a prayer. Maybe you will be able to tell us here about the message.

I am not sure what the message was or is... Pastor John began his teaching on 1 John ...one of my favorite new testament books... However ...previously I had asked John about spiritual gifts... there is a questionnaire available that helps to focus your interests in several different directions.. aside from knowledge I scored high in mercy... and that's what I believe may be my spiritual gift since I am always aware of other people and how they seem to be feeling.. So after service I approached a man who sat near to us... and who seemed to be new to the church...(something I do not often do)...strangely I am shy (reserved??)... I asked this man if he was new to church... which he was... therefore I asked him what he thought of the service... he seemed to really be happy to be there ...and mentioned the singing.. so... we chatted ..just briefly and I wished him well ...then I spied him approaching pastor John...So may the bit of hospitality that he and I shared made him feel comfortable enough to approach Pastor John... Anyway that is the only thing that seemed to be different for me.. and maybe my gift has to do with that...Being welcoming to strangers...

If you have mercy then people will be watching you. Such are the truly wise, they study that their thoughts, words and actions should be regular, sincere and holy.
