Oh my! I only just now saw this thread! LOL, never even thought about anyone starting a birthday thread, and we did this all the time, on the old board.
Thank you, Margie, for remembering me again, for my birthday. Thank you for the lovely card. I still have it sitting on my counter, in my kitchen. It's the prettiest room in the house, so it was only fitting that I put the card pretty card, from my dear friend there.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes. Anna, no worries about being 2 days late. So was I!
I had a nice quiet birthday. Ed let me sleep in, and just let me do whatever I wanted for the whole day. Which was next to nothing. LOL I didn't even have to cook, if I didn't want to, but I did, because I do love to cook and we needed to eat. lol So, I made beef rollups, stuffed with my garden herbs, cheese, brocolli and green pepper all minced up and spread inside and rolled up. Then I wrapped it in bacon and browned it in a skillet, on top the stove until the bacon was almost done, and finished it in the oven. Then I used the same mixture to stuff large mushrooms, but added way more cheese. I had a lot of the mixture left over, so I lined a skillet with foil and put the mushrooms in the there, and loaded all the extra on top and baked everything at the same time, for 35 minutes @ 350. I really outdid myself and it wasn't that hard to make. I served cucumber salad with it. I showed a picture on FB of it. It doesn't look very appetising, but is sure had a lot of good flavor.
Then yesterday, I made homemade pierogies, from scratch.
Today I'm making shiskabob. (sp) I found a few small cuts of beef on sale and am making the best of it. It's the "cook it or lose it" type sale. So, anyway, Ed went to the store and got us some more mushrooms, grape tomatoes and green pepper. I got that all prepared, put the meat in a ziplock bag to marinate, and was fixing to make another cucumber salad. Got into the dishwasher to get my FAVORITE Pyrex bowl, and as I grabbed it, my stupid hand opened up.......dropped the bowl back into the dishwasher and it exploded all over my kitchen!!! And I mean everywhere!!! I was, once again, barefooted and couldn't move, or I'd have glass all in my feet. I picked up what I could reach, but REALLY needed the broom! When this happened years ago, I had "let go" of a stack of nice Pyrex bowls, but my pantry was right next to me and I was able to "sweep" my way out of the mess, to get some shoes on. But, this time, I couldn't and I hollered for Ed, who was out on the front porch, but he couldn't hear me. I reached a heavy plastic drinking glass and threw it across the house, into the front door, hoping he would hear that. He did. LOL and came and helped me get out of my predicament. What a mess. And I don't have my favorite bowl that my Mom gave me. It's a set of 3 with lids, and it was the medium sized one that's perfect for everything. Oh well, such is life.

And forgive me for being a week late coming in here to your special birthday thread and saying "happy belated birthday." Your food sounds delicious, and I love what Barb said about you moving next door to her so you could cook for them. Although don't you want to come to SC and be MY neighbor?!? I enjoyed reading about your birthday!

LOL, Lorrie, I love SC. And I would live there, if I had not fallen so much in love with Kentucky, as a child. But, then again, I've BEEN to SC, and have never been in the Northwest. So, I'm sure that if I have, I'd have a real hard time, choosing between the two. Both areas have their own beautiful, gorgeous charm.
