I wanted to let everyone know about an excellent book about Mormons. It's called, Out of mormonism: A woman's true story; By Judy Robertson. This woman explains how she got taken in by them, what they taught her from day one on and for years after. (and they have some quite literally out of this world beliefs that would have put them in the loony bin literally if people had known about it years ago.) But the way she tells her story is really neat. It's like reading a fiction book that she and her family are the main characters in. It grabs your attention instantly and doesn't let you go! And when it's finished, you sit there totally amazed. You want to grab her and give her a big hug and help her anyway you can! So even if you're just interested in a good read, and not particularly interested in what the LDS church teaches, pick it up. You won't be sorry. And best of all, when you meet someone who's LDS, you'll be well prepared to speak the truth with love, and you'll know exactly what that person believes and what you need to tell them so they'll be open to hearing the truth.
Out of Mormonism: A Woman's True Story
Judy Robertson and her family left Mormonism in 1973. She is an author, speaker, teacher, and cofounder with her husband, Jim, of Concerned Christians, an outreach ministry to Mormons and an equipping arm to the body of Christ. Judy and Jim live near Mesa, Arizona.
Judy Robertson shares her unique insider's viewpoint as a woman in the Mormon church. After she and her husband rediscovered God's truth, they faced torment and persecution upon leaving the LDS church. This reader-friendly book is one of the few Christian books that focuses first on an individual's journey from Mormonism rather than on theology or Christian doctrines. The revised edition includes testimonies of others who have left the Mormon church and what God is doing today through Concerned Christians. Readers will find Out of Mormonism a useful resource for understanding and witnessing to friends and family in the LDS church.
Judy Robertson is an author, speaker and co-founder with her late husband, Jim, of Concerned Christians, an outreach ministry to those who are seeking truth. Her website is outofmormonism.com. Follow her on her Facebook page, Judy Robertson, Author. She is an ex-Mormon, now Christian, who is passionate about drawing people to the real Jesus of the Bible. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, reading, and time with family.
A review:
I was intrigued by the thought of knowing what is Mormonism from a person's personal journey. Judy took us on an journey that spanned her being spurned and vulnerable to the snare as she put it. The background she gave led credence to her story. She was very visual and descriptive in taking you with her on each step.
Judy also incorporated development in the persons she engaged with on her journey, The variety and suspense made it difficult to stop reading I wanted to finish the book in one setting. I felt as if I was in Judy's pocket along for the ride of my life from being brokenhearted to temporary euphoria to eye opening madness and to being set free finally and acknowledging who I really am.
Thank you Judy for being brave to express your journey for us. I have received this book at a discount for my honest review.
