Good day, had a busy day yesterday shopping all day, glad to have a restful day today. Watched a video of a father 62 years old and his son hiking the Appalachian trail from the state of Georgia to the state of Maine, 2,200 miles. They walked it all and made it.

Thank you everyone for your prayers...they are helping.
Temps have halved from 120F to 70F, and we have rain!! Praise be to God.
We still have many large fires burning, and we are throwing absolutely everything at it including the military. Please keep praying for us.
I got a call from one relative on the coast who will be without power for another week but has mobile phone service again. They have food due to a full freezer....which is slowly defrosting.
Its been amazing ..... God has brought our country to its knees, but I doubt there will be any repentance. We have an industry that kills babies and govt funding for those that embrace and practoce things detestable to God.
In Revelation this is what it says....
Revelation 9:20-21 "But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk! And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts."
There will be good people called by God to His remnant through all this...please pray for those people.
Humbly,
Steve

Just wanted to update my post from yesterday, about my Daniel.
He was feeling a little worse today so we went back to Urgent Care. Turns out he does not have flu after all, but has mono. He's so disappointed that he won't be starting his internship tomorrow.
Please pray that he will have a full (& quick!) recovery. They told him he'll be out a minimum of 2 weeks, and possibly/probably 4 weeks or more. There is no treatment other than bed rest and lots of fluids.
Also apparently he's very contagious, especially to John, whose immune system is depressed from the Crohn's treatments he takes. Please pray we stay well too. Thank you.

Lorrie, my prayers go out to your family. I pray that Daniel will get well quickly. And that John nor you will contract it!
Steve, thank you for what you wrote, and I agree. Also, thank you for keeping us up to date on what’s really happening in Australia. My prayers are still with you.

Steve are any of the fires near you? I agree 100 percent: "We may as a nation be under Gods judgement by fire, but please could this situation be used to win souls, to know the joy of knowing Jesus...."
You know our country could be soon to experience the same...maybe not this year or the next....but it could be today.
I was reading that: "More human beings died in abortions than any other cause of death in 2019, a new report indicates.....statistics compiled by Worldometers indicate that there were over 42.3 million abortions world-wide in 2019".
Sadly, I think our country may be leading the pack.....but imagine in just one year.....43 million babies killed???
So the day may be coming when we ill be needing your prayers.
but I will continue to pray for you and like Cindy said....for the unbelievers there also!!!! Can that even be possible?
yep, we've killed a whole generation....and most people don't even realize it and those who do, don't care. Merry [late] Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. I've been reading through this new (to me) thread and, along with everyone else, am concerned about the people of Australia and the fires. (Actually have been keeping up with the situation through former member Melissa on FB.) Prayers for SALVATION and for everyone involved.
We have had a busy few weeks with the holidays and don't see things slowing down for several more. This afternoon I'm playing the piano for the funeral of a 96 year old man from our church, a WWII veteran whose wife just died last year.... a very sweet couple. I think their minds remained sharp up until the end - what a blessing.
Our Daniel has been sick with the flu all week. Poor thing has always seemed to get sick so easily and I don't know if it's the stress of college or what, but at 20 he still is susceptible to illness. Last week he was chaperoning a church youth retreat, became ill, and had to leave on Monday to go in search of a clinic. He actually tested negative for flu, but the NP said he has all the symptoms and that everyone has the flu, so she prescribed Tamiflu. He went back to his school apartment and suffered alone there for a couple of days, then drove home on New Years so he could suffer here!
He's supposed to start an internship in a civil engineering firm on Monday (2 days!), so we're praying he is up to it. From this point on, he'll work a semester, go to school a semester, etc., until he finishes. He's a junior, so still has at least 3 more semesters of classwork. My boys "grew up" here on FH and I appreciate how you all have cared about them, shown interest in their lives and PRAYED for them through the years. In the same way, it's been a joy to read about all your families and feel a part of your lives, through chat here.
Cindy, what you said about the LDS cult - so true!! My cousin was pulled into it during college with tragic results. He married a Mormon and now has children and grandchildren who are strong in their "faith." In fact, another cousin (his sister) recently texted me, asking for prayer as her family joined his for Christmas, hoping for opportunities to share their true faith. I haven't heard how it went, but know their hearts are typically hardened to the truth of the Gospel.
Well pretty much everything I've posted today has been on the negative side, so maybe I'll just stop now!
Hope you all have a nice New Year, and everybody stay well!!
It's funny in a way Lorrie, because when I think of your boys, they're still quite young in my imagination, so when you start talking about them it's always a bit of a shock to remember that they really aren't that young anymore! They went and grew up on us! That's sad about your cousin getting involved with the mormons when younger and now paying the price for it. The mormons keep very close watch on their members. They make me think of an abusive husband...the kind who has to know where his wife is every moment of every day because he doesn't trust her, and if she can't remember where she was and what she was doing he punishes her. That's how the mormon elders work too. They have to know everything about their members, what they're doing every day, why they're doing it, etc. They want the women especially to be so tired from doing all their "good works" that they'll be too tired to think. I learned way too much about them during the years I lived in Salt Lake.
I sure do miss hearing from you though. I've been staying away from facebook. I've never liked it much and really only go on it because I feel like I have to, and I hate that feeling. So then i rebel and just don't go lol. I just don't have the energy anymore to do a lot and what energy I do have I want to spend here. So please come see us whenever you can, ok? (I feel badly even asking, as I don't want to pressure anyone...)
I'm sorry to hear that Daniel's sick and hope he will be feeling much better soon!
I didn't realize you'd gotten taken in by the LDS cult! They sure are good at hiding what they really believe until they've got you solidly in their clutches. They work a lot like Satan does and slowly but surely bring you to the point where you'll be able to accept their garbage as truth, without too much trouble; and any trouble you might have, you'll hide for fear of your "elders". People could actually learn a lot from the way they do things because if they just came right out and told folks up front what they really believe, they'd be laughed at or else it would be suggested they may want to see a shrink. But it's normally a couple of years before someone actually learns what their beliefs are, and they learn it a very little at a time.
May I make a suggestion? That you instead pray for the unsaved rather then the Christians? Because Christians will be OK since the Lord will take care of them and even if they should die, they'll be going home to Heaven. Whereas the unsaved would be dying to go to hell. Better a Christian should die to give the unsaved another chance at salvation..... I don't mean we shouldn't pray for Christians, only that we should include the unsaved.....
Well, I guess I should explain. I had talked about this years ago, and summarized it, on and off, over the years, but to reiterate. I wasn't taken in by the LDS cult. Never. I was yanked in, when I was a child, by my Aunt Dorothy. My Dad's older sister. She found out that Mom and Dad were "letting" me attend a Baptist Church, down the road from us, and she was having none of it. Mind you, we had attended this Church, since we were toddlers, but now she wanted to butt in. She convinced my Dad to let her pick up Jackie and me, and take us to her church, in Gary. We, of course, didn't know the difference, being so young, but neither of us liked being there. We were "outsiders" and were treated as such, and when the time came for the Christmas play, we were supposed to go up on stage and recite scripture, for our part in the play. We were never introduced or called up there. We were so ready, too. Jackie and I both memorized our scripture "lines" and worked so hard for it. When we asked Aunt Dorothy why we are sitting out here, and not back stage, she just shrugged. Oh, and when they pray, they don't put their hands together in prayer, they cross their arms, like they are mad. (that's how I saw it, as a child) Aunt Dorothy slapped my hands down, when I put them, palms together, to pray. Yes, the woman was very abusive to mainly me, when we were children, and she babysat often. Jackie was her favorite, so I got the beatings, whenever she felt like it. I begged my Mom to stop making me go over there, and for half my life, she didn't listen. I did hear her arguing with my Dad, several times, about it, though. They both worked, so she didn't have much choice in sitters, because there were so many kids. I finally convinced her to let me take care of the little ones, and no more babysitters. Hence, my life, not as a child, but a caregiver. I guess the Lord trained me from a small child, on care-giving. Huh?
But, back to the LDS portion of my life. I put my own foot down, and refused to let Dorothy dictate where I attended Church, and my mother won her argument, with Dad. It was the Christmas play fiasco that finally gave me my way. I went back to the Baptist Church that I grew up in, and managed to get re-programmed, to the True God of the Bible, and accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 11. But, when I was 13 years old. They (the Baptist church) called me, and 5 other girls to ask us to take care of 6 children, in the nursery of the church, while the parents went on a Wednesday night missionary. Long story short, I was primarily the one who took care of those children. One was an infant, and the rest older. One little boy was very sick and had diarrhea. No one would help me tend to him, so after I had gone through all of his diapers, I was using the diapers, provided for the other children. When the infant was crying or needed feeding or changing, they handed her to me. Finally, the parents returned, but would not come retrieve their children, (even the mother, who I told needed to take her child to the hospital) and it was after 9pm, a school night, and I wanted to go home! They went back to the room, behind the main church area, behind a closed door. The other girls wanted to go home too, so they elected me as the person to get them out of there. I went and knocked, and a man came to the door, opened only by a crack, and hollered at me to go back and they'd be out in a minute. I don't how long it was (not long), but the girls prodded me to try again. This time, I didn't knock. I swung the door open and on the very table that I received my Sunday School Bible lesson was covered with liquor bottles!! That same man came at me, hollering "how dare you just barge in here!....." I didn't let him finish. I said I want to go home, and I want to go home, RIGHT NOW! And you're not driving me! You're drunk! I want you to unlock the door to the rectory and let me use your phone! I had to say it a couple of times, but finally got to use the phone, and called my Mom to come get me. (I don't remember how the others got home) She was angry, but I think my own anger outweighed hers. And I never returned to that church. And with my mother's blessing. She told me that even if I had considered it, she would not allow it. As a matter of fact, I refused to go to any church for many years, because I'd lost my trust in "the church". It wasn't until after the 911 and because of that happening, my Mom found her own non-denominational Church. A very small Church with a congregation of 20 and she convinced me to please attend. For her, I did. And to make sure she was being taught correctly and treated right. She was. She re-affirmed her faith, was baptized and went to be with the Lord, less than a year later, (April 2003) after losing her battle with lung cancer. But, in all of those years, God NEVER left me. He already had me, and never let me go. He has been with me, protecting me, holding my head up in the hard times, and keeping me sane when I lost my son. And He has been taking care of me, ever since Ed died. Providing for me when I've needed it the most. Never too soon, and never too late. He is still with me, even as I write this. He has been with me, since birth.
OK........I don't know why I always say "long story, short", because it never is "short" .
<-------that's me in the middle.
I'm coming back in to edit, because I went on, so much, about the first part of your reply, to me, that I forgot to respond to the second part, about how I prayed for Australia. I do stand corrected, and have already prayed ( a few times) for forgiveness, for not praying for the unsaved. I have since asked the Lord to bring them to Himself, and save all of the people of Australia. Please forgive me, for my error. I was thinking about Sodom and Gomorrah, and remembering that God destroyed that city, and brought out the ones who were righteous. And forgot that God desires for ALL to come to Christ, and it's not too late, before they die.
You're such a sweetheart Cheryl. I know the Lord really appreciates your prayers!
I wanted to let everyone know about an excellent book about Mormons. It's called, Out of mormonism: A woman's true story; By Judy Robertson. This woman explains how she got taken in by them, what they taught her from day one on and for years after. (and they have some quite literally out of this world beliefs that would have put them in the loony bin literally if people had known about it years ago.) But the way she tells her story is really neat. It's like reading a fiction book that she and her family are the main characters in. It grabs your attention instantly and doesn't let you go! And when it's finished, you sit there totally amazed. You want to grab her and give her a big hug and help her anyway you can! So even if you're just interested in a good read, and not particularly interested in what the LDS church teaches, pick it up. You won't be sorry. And best of all, when you meet someone who's LDS, you'll be well prepared to speak the truth with love, and you'll know exactly what that person believes and what you need to tell them so they'll be open to hearing the truth.
Out of Mormonism: A Woman's True Story
Judy Robertson and her family left Mormonism in 1973. She is an author, speaker, teacher, and cofounder with her husband, Jim, of Concerned Christians, an outreach ministry to Mormons and an equipping arm to the body of Christ. Judy and Jim live near Mesa, Arizona.
Judy Robertson shares her unique insider's viewpoint as a woman in the Mormon church. After she and her husband rediscovered God's truth, they faced torment and persecution upon leaving the LDS church. This reader-friendly book is one of the few Christian books that focuses first on an individual's journey from Mormonism rather than on theology or Christian doctrines. The revised edition includes testimonies of others who have left the Mormon church and what God is doing today through Concerned Christians. Readers will find Out of Mormonism a useful resource for understanding and witnessing to friends and family in the LDS church.
Judy Robertson is an author, speaker and co-founder with her late husband, Jim, of Concerned Christians, an outreach ministry to those who are seeking truth. Her website is outofmormonism.com. Follow her on her Facebook page, Judy Robertson, Author. She is an ex-Mormon, now Christian, who is passionate about drawing people to the real Jesus of the Bible. She enjoys hiking in the mountains, reading, and time with family.
A review: I was intrigued by the thought of knowing what is Mormonism from a person's personal journey. Judy took us on an journey that spanned her being spurned and vulnerable to the snare as she put it. The background she gave led credence to her story. She was very visual and descriptive in taking you with her on each step.
Judy also incorporated development in the persons she engaged with on her journey, The variety and suspense made it difficult to stop reading I wanted to finish the book in one setting. I felt as if I was in Judy's pocket along for the ride of my life from being brokenhearted to temporary euphoria to eye opening madness and to being set free finally and acknowledging who I really am.
Thank you Judy for being brave to express your journey for us. I have received this book at a discount for my honest review.
Finally, here's a post Judy made on her facebook page recently:
Hi
Cheryl - I think many people get deceived, because the Devil makes it look all glossy and convenient, but people forget that if you even read Pauls account as an Apostle, he was often stoned or slept rough or run out of town for preaching the truth. I'm not saying we should aim for such things, but Christianity at its pivotal point, was Christ dying in a city where his name was written in 3 languages, and Christianity is designed to be lived, not polished and admired. And the Devil creates all these distractions and half truths to lure people away, but the Gospel is unmoving and uncompromising. As one commentator said "The gospel is offensive to those offensive to God" ... which sound harsh, but its kind of true. Salvation is a narrow path, and few are the ones finding it, lest we forget. The Devil also uses another ploy of trying to discredit the Bible through twisting scripture. His latest distraction is trying to turn "climate change" into a State sanctioned pagan religion, which has IMHO deceived many young ones. The Australian fires:
Conditions here have eased back a bit, thank you very much for your prayers, they are helping greatly.
The general comment made by Israel Folau that our country may be under judgement for allowing same sex marriage, now looks possible. Whats interesting is that Australia's capital, Canberra, has been blanketed in choking smoke, so while it hasnt been burnt out, its politicians have both watering eyes and trouble breathing. It reminds me of the biblical plague in Exodus of the frogs...just no escape from it.
Whats amazing about this situation is that its just been non stop. One senior fire fighter said that "the fires just wont give up"...which makes me wonder.
We've had a huge area burnt out across the states of both NSW and Victoria ( 15,000,000 acres ). Temps have reached 120 F , unofficially probably higher.
One great thing is people have been opening their homes to strangers and the australian mateship/comraderie thing has really kicked in.
We have govt temporary evacuation centres opened up to house people fleeing from the fires. But locals are also donating money & time and resources to help people.
We have the National Guard compulsory mobilization yesterday, so an extra 3000 firefighters were added. Most of the firefighters are all local people who are volunteers from their local counties and municipalities who pay their own way, often for days and weeks at a time.
This link is a good summary so far. www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-50951043
Please could you pray for God to protect the safety of Australian, American and Canadian firefighters, and the normal people affected by the fires.
Please could you also pray that God might find at least one righteous person to bring to Him through all this.
Will do Steve, and thank you for keeping us up to date on what's happening there! Good day, had a busy day yesterday shopping all day, glad to have a restful day today. Watched a video of a father 62 years old and his son hiking the Appalachian trail from the state of Georgia to the state of Maine, 2,200 miles. They walked it all and made it. There will be good people called by God to His remnant through all this...please pray for those people. Humbly, Steve Yeah, if the judgements during the tribulation won't bring repentance, you're right that these are unlikely to as well...Just wanted to update my post from yesterday, about my Daniel.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that he has Mono. Jenn really hated it when she had it. Do you remember how long it took her to get over it? Almost a year! But that's because she had two little ones to take care of at the time. I'm sure Daniel will get over it much faster, especially if he will just rest. It's so hard to get adults to do that though! Yep, I'll be praying!

Good to hear from you Lulu. I guess you can't have internet when you live in a RV. That would be hard for me as it would interfere with my Bible Library Oh well, it just makes hearing from you that much sweeter! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and start to the New Year!

My trip to town went well yesterday because the women were so friendly, that made all well even though I was delayed because of computer error at both places I went to, but made it home in time for the last hour with online christian fellowship at pastor's site. Thanks Cindy for answering the Bible question. I had that question from reading from a book autobiography of a Christian woman, her childhood of growing up in Lithuania, her loving grandmother, and how she moved to the US and had a home that helped sick people feel better and she meant well when she miss quoted the scripture in Daniel, but it is my responsibility to know the truth. So many people I hear twist a scripture just a little, with mostly truth, so I don't much listen to some preachers teach, Thankful I have fh and also pastor Scott to listen to or read from.

I pray things were different for my daughter. My heart aches. I’m sorry Daniel has mono! Poor kiddo! Y’all be careful around him!!

Attachment Deleted Hey, Cindy, I’m not sure how it all works either! In the truck we have onstar, they provide internet in the truck, so we have it on our tablets! We have all kinds of antennas that Ron puts up when we are hooked up, and we have pretty good internet most the time! Some places are wicked slow though, all depends where we are! we are back in Payson, it’s beautiful here, still has a tat of snow on the ground in the shade, today it got up to 60 plus degrees in the afternoon! Beautiful day! Attachment Deletedagain it came out upside down! Lol, but if you click on it, it’s right!

My goodness y’all are busy bees Hi everyone! Anna so glad things went well! Miss chatting with you! Lulu & Ron I’m so jealous & happy about your new adventures! 🤗 Cheryl & Cindy always the great prayer warriors & loads of info! I’m so glad my husband pulled away from the LDS. However, they are RELENTLESS. Always coming to our door & trying to get him to go to their church. He’s put up no trespassing signs & they still come saying it doesn’t relate to them @ the church 🤦🏼♀️ Hi Steve, Mark & Kelly!! Lorrie, like you, my kids grew up here.. I pray things were different for my daughter. My heart aches. I’m sorry Daniel has mono! Poor kiddo! Y’all be careful around him!! I’m off to do more reading. Love you all! Kel, put up a “NO SOLICITING” sign. Or Solicitors will be shot on site. 😁😂

Amen, glad I could help. You explained exactly how Satan works. Most people seem to think that a "false teacher" is someone who teaches or tries to teach something that's obviously wrong, but that's generally not the case. Usually there's a lot of truth with just a little bit of false mixed in. So it sounds and looks good, unless you're looking carefully. That's why so many fall for it. After all, if it didn't have a lot of truth mixed in, no one would buy into it as it would be obvious.
I had the sweetest Sunday School teacher shortly after I was saved, and loved her classes. She taught with such passion and obviously loved the Lord. Mostly she taught about spiritual warfare, so I thought I was learning some great stuff that would be very useful. I ate it all up, but little by little the Lord pointed things out to me during my regular times with Him that seemed to contradict what she was teaching. This was very upsetting to me as I couldn't imagine her purposely teaching anything that wasn't true. But as I continued to study, I discovered that most of what she was teaching simply wasn't true anywhere except in her mind. She had come to believe this stuff when she was trying to somehow make her mother's suicide fit in with both her theology and what she believed about her mother..., since in her mind her mother was the perfect godly Christian. So the things she came to believe took the responsibility away from her mother and placed it all on Satan, so that her beloved mother hadn't done anything "wrong" or gone against God in any way. I felt so badly for her because She was using this stuff to keep from facing the fact that her mom was human just like all of us and she made a poor choice that obviously hurt her daughter badly. My goodness y’all are busy bees Hi everyone! Anna so glad things went well! Miss chatting with you! Kel I had no idea he'd been involved with them before! Then please, grab that book about mormons that I shared about in my earlier post, as it will really help you know what they'd taught your husband or tried to anyway, and what he most needs to know about the true Gospel that could bring him to finally accept the real Jesus!
I've sure missed hearing from you! Hope your daughter and your son and his wife are all doing well and of course you too. OH MAN I got home early on Wednesday the schools get out of early so I was bored so HBO decided uploaded The New Pope series premire it out of control It much wilder than Showtime Borgias few years ago John Malticovh play new American pope when last Pope play by some Brit dude I never seen before slip in coma they elect this new dude Well it about what would happen if so called Pope was Anti Christ and False prophet yeah John Malotcich was play Religious leader threw f bombs and sleeping with two nuns at same timeeee Yeah this going sure be nominate for Emmys next year trust me Sounds like some books I've heard about... I wonder if it's made from a book? Hey, Cindy, I’m not sure how it all works either! In the truck we have onstar, they provide internet in the truck, so we have it on our tablets! That's weird that your pictures are doing that... are you adding them as an attachment or are you using the photo button above?
