Ilhan Omar & Co. Were Elected Because of Their Racism, Not In Spite of It
Caroline Glick 17 February 2019
Rep. Ilhan Omar is an antisemite and, as the actions of the congressional Democratic leadership last week made clear, hating Jews is a perfectly acceptable position in today’s Democratic Party.
Consider the chronology of events. Last month, Rep. Steven King (R-IA) was stripped of his committee assignments following a statement he made to the New York Times where he seemed to legitimize white supremacism. (King insists his remark was deliberately taken out of context).
Last week, Rep. Omar tweeted another statement that was inarguably antisemitic. Omar argued that the only reason that Congressional Republicans seek to censure her and her colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) for their anti-Jewish bigotry is because Jewish money dictates their actions.
That is, she defended herself against allegations of antisemitism by proving, yet again, that she is an antisemite.
The Congressional Democratic leadership responded to Omar’s statements not by censuring her, let alone stripping her of her committee assignments – including her membership on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Rather Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), and their colleagues reacted to Omar’s presentation of further proof that she hates Jews and sees the world through the distorted lens of antisemitism by asking her to apologize.
That is, she was allowed to get away with it.
Indeed, when Omar was asked if she feared that her bigotry would cause her to be stripped of her committee assignments, she responded confidently, “Absolutely not.”

Some Democrats rightly denounce Rep. Omar’s ugly, anti-Semitic remarks. But much more is needed. She must be censured & removed from Foreign Affairs Committee, as I said on Fox News.
Joel C. Rosenberg March 7, 2019
(Washington, D.C.) — An ugly series of anti-Semitic statements have erupted from freshman Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, triggering global headlines and denunciations of her by top Democrat leaders.
Ms. Omar is living the American Dream. A Muslim born in war-torn Somalia, she and her family immigrated to the United States when she was a child. She became a naturalized citizen, grew up in the Midwest, and now serves in the most powerful legislative body on the planet. It’s a beautiful personal story, yet she has chosen to leverage it against Jewish Americans.
Among the statements that are drawing fire from Democrats and Republicans alike:
-“Israel has hypnotized the world — may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
-“It’s all about the Benjamins, baby,” she recently Tweeted, referring to the image of Benjamin Franklin on the $100 bill and accusing American lawmakers who support Israel as only doing so because they’re being paid. A Jewish reporter Tweeted back, “Would love to know who @ilhanmn thinks is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel, though I think I can guess. Bad form, Congresswoman. That’s the second anti-Semitic trope you’ve tweeted.” Rep. Omar then wrote: “AIPAC!” The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is the most influential U.S. lobby group supporting the Israeli government.
-“I want to talk about the political influence in this country that says it is OK for people to push for allegiance to a foreign country,” Rep. Omar then said in a town hall forum, accusing Jewish Americans who love and support Israel as having a “dual loyalty” — having an allegiance to Israel and not to America — and thus duplicitous and illegitimate.
“Something has seriously wrong with the Congresswoman,” I said on an interview on Fox News on Wednesday night. “I mean, she has a great story, a great personal story, and yet she has unleashed of remarks. And let me just quote from the Democratic leadership — ‘vile, hateful, hurtful, classically anti-Semitic’ — I could go on. And that’s just from Speaker Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Eliot Engel, and I agree with them. And she has apologized, except that she keeps doing it. There needs to be a penalty for this. They need to take her Foreign Affairs Committee seat to make it clear this is not business as usual. This is really ugly behavior, and you don’t want it permeating the Democratic Party.”

Jeffress: Don't expect Dems to tone down their anti-Semitism
Chad Groening, Steve Jordahl
March 8, 2019
Leaders of two Christian ministries are sounding off on the anti-Semitic resolution that almost was, saying the version that ultimately made it to the floor of the House reflects not only the cowardice of Democratic leaders but also the "godlessness" that's taking over the party.
On Thursday evening, the House overwhelmingly passed what started out as a resolution to call out Representative Ilhan Omar and her anti-Semitic comments – but it ended up being something completely different. What began as a resolution of condemnation of Omar and her remarks morphed into a condemnation of "white supremacy" as the cause of all manner of hate. Omar's name was nowhere in the measure.
In the two months-plus that Omar has been in Congress, the Minnesota Democrat has managed to throw out several anti-Semitic statements that were offensive enough to convince some of her Democratic colleagues in the House that they needed to speak out against her. But Dr. Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Dallas tells OneNewsNow the watered-down resolution was a cowardly retreat by Democrats' leadership.
"They don't want to deal with anti-Semitism in their own ranks. I think it's a sign, certainly, of the bankruptcy of the Democratic Party," says the Southern Baptist pastor.

Knowing your enemy: The ‘Red-Green Axis of evil’ shows its face in Washington
Leo Hohmann
How many of you have been watching the news in recent weeks and wondering, “is this still America? What is going on?”
How many Americans must be wondering, where did this Ilhan Omar, covered in the Islamic headscarf, come from and how in the world did she end up in Congress? We’re told she’s from Minnesota but she seems obsessed with demonizing Israel and speaks sympathetically of ISIS fighters.
Who is this other new Congresswoman with the foul mouth, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, who bragged to the world that she would take drastic action against President Trump. She told her young son she would “impeach the Mother F’er?”
Who does this Linda Sarsour, also adorned in the headscarf, think she is, referring to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi as some sort of white supremacist. Pelosi is “a typical white feminist doing the work of powerful white men,” Sarsour posted on Facebook. Did Pelosi deserve such a harsh rebuke for simply considering disciplinary action against the brazen anti-Semite Ilhan Omar?

AOC's statements – not her threats – should concern Americans, says PJTN
Chad Groening March 12, 2019
The head of a pro-Israel ministry says a first-term congresswoman from New York is a "narcissist" whose oversized influence in Congress has gone to her head.
Last week, the House attempted to pass a resolution rebuking Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) for her anti-Semitic comments. But the final version was watered down and didn't even mention Omar – one of two Muslim women in the House – by name after avowed socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York) and other far-left members said it wasn't fair to single her out.
Despite being a freshman, Ocasio-Cortez has become force to be reckoned with in the Democratic Party. In fact, she warned moderate Democrats that they were putting themselves "on a list" for voting with Republicans on a legislative amendment. She even threatened to get progressive candidates to challenge them in the 2020 Democratic primaries.

‘Stand with Israel’ and ‘Stand with Ilhan’ Chants Compete in Nancy Pelosi’s Office
Michelle Moons
14 Mar 2019
Pro-Israel demonstrators poured into Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office Thursday, calling on her to condemn Rep. Ilhan Omar and antisemitism. They were interrupted by two pink-clad “Stand with Ilhan” counter-protesters.
Rabbi Aryeh Spero of the National Conference of Jewish Affairs organized the sit-in and from outside Pelosi’s office, went after the speaker’s failure to condemn Rep. Omar’s most recent antisemitic comments or even antisemitism itself.
“She failed us. She had a chance to condemn Omar. She didn’t. She had a chance to condemn standalone, by itself, antisemitism. She didn’t,” said Rabbi Spero. “This was a turning point to stand up and do what was right, what was just, what was fair, and she didn’t.”

We Cannot Bury Our Heads in the Sand about Ilhan Omar
By E. Jeffrey Ludwig March 17, 2019
Rep. Ilhan Omar from Minnesota poses an interesting case study in American cultural or civilizational consciousness. She is the first congressional representative to wear a scarf around her head, and that scarf is for some a symbol of the breadth and depth of our acceptance of others. For others, it is a symbol of alienation and rejection of the America she claims — simply by holding office — to represent. To those who see her this way, the hijab or head covering is seen as a hostile schmata (rag) whereby she is not merely carrying on one of her subculture's customs, but, in essence, giving the finger to the country she now would participate in governing.
To those who admire her motivation and political know-how, the headscarf adds to the attraction of her looking frail and vulnerable. Looking frail and vulnerable, yet being a political high achiever, she seems to fit the rags-to-riches mythology of our culture. Those who are attracted by this transition into the halls of power may not see her hijab as a mere headscarf or as a rag. To them, this headgear is a crown dignifying her claim to power. Is she a stinking terrorist in sheep's clothing? Or is she just a little know-nothing from a nowhere country elected by a bizarre and backward district in Minnesota? Or does she express the promise of America to give leadership and success to those for whom it has been blocked, sometimes, for centuries?
Anyone from anywhere can make his home here. Even more than make a home, all persons can participate in the governance of this country. Was that not true of the Germans, the Scandinavians, the Irish, the Italians, the West Indians, the Greeks, the Eastern Europeans? So, rather than being seen as a threat, many see Rep. Omar as a victory of American culture over the inherent divisiveness of a hate-filled world.

Markell: Wake up, AIPAC
Chad Groening (OneNewsNow.com)
March 25, 2019
...Jan Markell, founder and president of Olive Tree Ministries, says the “true colors” of the far-left Democrats are starting to show.
“Much of the Democrat Party has embraced some form of anti-Semitic sentiment,” she claims. “There was a time when both parties were strong supporters of Israel. This is years ago now.”
Markell says anti-Semitism within the Democratic Party can be traced to so-called “progressives” in the Obama administration and she now advises that Jews need to “wake up” and leave the party.
Regarding the leaders of AIPAC, Markell says she finds it “tragic” that they continue to reach out to Democrats and look the other way at their views.

'Jesus Was A Palestinian' - Islam's Plot To Rewrite World History
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz/Breaking Israel News
April 25, 2019
Rep. Ilhan Omar's (D-Minn.) history of egregious antisemitic remarks and dismissal of the Islamist 9-11 attacks as "some people who did something" pale in comparison to her most recent comment which, in a subtle but horrific manner, threatens all of Judeo-Christian Western society.
Omar retweeted a New York Times op-ed by Eric V. Copage, which claimed that "Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin."
"As I grew older, I learned that the fair-skinned, blue-eyed depiction of Jesus has for centuries adorned stained glass windows and altars in churches throughout the United States and Europe," Copage, who is Black, wrote. "But Jesus, born in Bethlehem, was most likely a Palestinian man with dark skin."
Although the article was about the historical accuracy of Jesus' depicted ethnicity (particularly in relation to Church art), white versus person-of-color, this one reference to Jesus' national allegiance became the focus of media debate. At face value, the claim that Jesus was a Palestinian is anachronistic. Palestinian, as a national identity, has never existed. And Jesus was, by all accounts, a Judean who worshipped the God of Israel.
