‘Unplanned’ Abortion Movie Has Zero Nudity Or Sex. Gets ‘R’ Rating For Violent ‘Disturbing’ Images Of Aborted Babies
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) officially gave the upcoming abortion film “Unplanned” an “R” rating Friday for “some disturbing/bloody images” of aborted babies.
Movies are rated R for profanity, nudity, sex or violence. “Unplanned” contains no profanity, nudity or sex. “Ironically, the MPAA seems to be indirectly endorsing the pro-life position: namely that abortion is an act of violence,” writers and directors Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman told Movieguide.
The film tells the true story of former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson who worked at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, Texas, until 2009 when she left the organization after assisting in an ultrasound-guided abortion of a 13-week-old unborn baby. Johnson was Planned Parenthood’s youngest director of a clinic in the nation.

'At 13 She Can Get an Abortion... But She Can't See This Movie': What's The Deal With R-Rated Pro-Life Film 'Unplanned'?
Charlene Aaron
03-21-2019
"Unplanned," the highly anticipated film about former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life activist Abby Johnson was assigned an "R" rating last month by the Motion Picture Association of America.
Supporters of the film attended a premiere screening in Los Angeles Monday, including singer and songwriter Joy Villa.
"I am a pro-life woman," Villa said in an interview with CBN News. "I had an unplanned pregnancy when I was 20-years-old. Domestic violence situation. It was rough. I was pressured by everyone, including the nurse who did my pregnancy test, to give my child an abortion. To murder my child. I said no. I'm not going to do that. I didn't know what I was going to do. I cried. I prayed to God. And he showed me adoption as the option."
She continued, "And I know my daughter today. She calls me Momma Joy. It is the best thing I've ever done. So, I support this movie. The healing, the education. The beauty of this film. The realness. The rawness. People need to see it whether they are pro-life or pro-choice, they need to see this film and get educated on the horrors of what abortion really is."
Abby Johnson recently wrote a letter to parents who are concerned about taking their children to see the R-rated film.

Plan to see Unplanned
By Ellen Staniszewski March 29, 2019
Last night, March 28, 2019, I went to the pre-screening of the movie Unplanned. Planned Parenthood's evil abortion business practices are exposed for the public to see through the life of Abby Johnson. Abby was a director of Planned Parenthood and had two abortions herself. Abby has an amazing transition from working for the world's largest abortion-provider to becoming a sidewalk counselor on the other side of the fence offering hope and alternatives to pregnant women. Abby now has a ministry to help abortion workers leave abortion and find new jobs.
...
Forgiveness, redemption, hope, and love are the true reason to see this film. Women (and men) who have experienced abortion will find that this film is full of hope and healing post-abortion, without any condemnation.

‘Unplanned’ makes twice the expected box office sales despite social media censorship
By Michael Gryboski, Christian Post Reporter
The pro-life movie “Unplanned” earned double the box office sales expected for its opening weekend, even while dealing with apparent censorship on social media.
Based on the life of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic worker turned anti-abortion activist, the movie raked in approximately $6.1 million over the weekend.
This was twice the expected ticket sales, and makes “Unplanned” the third biggest opening weekend film by Pure Flix, behind 2014's "God's Not Dead" ($9.2 million) and 2016’s “God’s Not Dead 2” ($7.6 million).
Deadline Hollywood labeled the success of the pro-life film “remarkable” since the movie was rated R and was not able to run ads on most of the major cable networks.
Pure Flix CEO Michael Scott said in a statement released Sunday that his company was “very happy for the success of this film.”

Unplanned Movie Surprises Hollywood With Powerful Response To Pro-Life Message
By Michael Brown April 03, 2019
To the surprise (and consternation) of Hollywood, Unplanned opened to more than $6 million in box office receipts, finishing number 5 in the nation. And it did this while opening in less than 1,100 theaters nationwide.
More importantly, this powerful, pro-life movie that exposes the evil of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry is making a powerful impact on its viewers. This could truly be a major game-changer in the days ahead.
Not that the left didn't try hard to stop the film from getting out of the gate, let alone succeeding.
Lead actress Ashley Bratcher was warned that she was "probably gonna be blacklisted" by Hollywood if she took the role.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that, "Lifetime, Hallmark Channel, HGTV and several other cable networks" rejected advertising for the movie.
I've heard of theaters that dropped the movie before its release, only to reinstate it after protests.
Then there was the ridiculous R-rating the movie was saddled with, without possible justification.
And over the weekend, Twitter temporarily suspended the movie's account, only to restore it a few hours later after a storm of protests. (Can anyone tell me any possible rationale, other than sheer, anti-life bigotry, for shutting down this account?) Then, once the account was restored, more than 100,000 followers realized they were no longer listed on the account. This is beyond suspicious.
And still, despite all this opposition (and more) the movie brought in more than $6 million in the first weekend, more than doubling prior estimates.
