In Loving Memory of
** Leslie Gail Umphlet Tulo **
Leslie Gail Umphlet Tulo of Flowood, Mississippi passed away on May 17, 2015. She was 60 years old.
Leslie was born on March 29, 1955 in Prairie Village, Kansas to Zeb and Dorothy (Massey) Umphlet.
She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High, then went on to study pharmacology at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. She worked as a pharmacist at the GV Montgomery Veteran’s Hospital from 1979 until she retired in 2013.
She married the love of her life, Jack Tulo on May 4, 1987. They spent 25 years together until Jack’s passing on March 13, 2012.
She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart, mind, soul and strength. Leslie was an active member of the Flowood Baptist Church where she taught first through fourth grade Sunday school. Like Dorcas of the Bible and the Proverbs 31 woman, her hands were never idle, but always busy creating beauty for others through her outreach and mission work.
She served with God Cares Ministries during their 2014 Mardi Gras Outreach, she knitted scarves for orphaned children in Orissa, India, volunteered at her church during VBS as well as crocheting bookmarks for Operation Christmas Child.
Leslie always had a sweet word of encouragement for others and always made you feel loved. She had a heart for those in need. She was active on a widows support group and many other online Christian forums. She formed many friendships with people all over the world and some were even fortunate to meet her in person and were forever touched by her warm spirit and sweet nature.
She loved her beloved puppies, Belle, Alec, and Shadow, all of whom were rescues. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Umphlet, her brother, Larry Umphlet and wife Jackie, many cousins, friends and “The Ramblers”.
"We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
2 Corinthians 5:8
