Cheryl just called and asked me to post an urgent request for her, as she has no internet available. Her sister's finance, Dan, had a stroke about 3 hours ago and is waiting to be transferred by ambulance to Vanderbilt. He has a 100% blocked carotid artery and left side paralysis. He's receiving a strong treatment which has a high risk of hemorrhage.
Please also keep in prayer Cheryl's sister Karen, his children, and his 3 little grandchildren who witnessed the stroke. 
I'll update when I hear more.

I'll update when I hear more. Thank you, Lorrie, for posting this for me. In the wee hours of this morning I miraculously, by the good grace of our Lord, got the internet back, after a whole week of not being able to get online. And I desperately needed the goggle maps to help my sister find Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville Tennessee. She's from Indiana, as am I, but they were vacationing here in Kentucky, when Dan suffered a stroke. Her GPS on her phone was not being very helpful and she was needing good directions. The Lord got her there safely.
Right after I spoke with Lorrie and asked her to post an emergency prayer request, I went back to Dan's room. I got over to him and touched him on his good arm and quietly told him, "We have you covered in prayer." He can talk a little and understand some things, and this he understood. He said, "Thank you."
Dan and Karen are both Christian. Karen was saved and baptized soon after the 9-1-1, when my mother was also saved and baptized. Karen said to tell you all that she is so grateful for your prayers. I spoke with her just a little while ago, and she told me that the smaller blockage, in his brain, has dissolved through the TPA treatment. She wasn't able to tell me if it improved his physical condition, or most importantly is helping the blood flow to his brain. His carotid artery is still 100% blocked and now the daughter in law says they are going to continue the TPA treatment to dissolve the artery. They were adamant about this, last night, at the hospital...............that the TPA will not help the carotid artery. But, I will keep you posted.

Dan has gone Home.
I'm going to ask Cindy to please close this thread now, but if you would remember Karen in your prayers, I would sure appreciate it. And I know she does too. She has a long road ahead of her, to try to pick herself up, after 15 years of having Dan with her. Now she is alone. And you all know that I know how that feels.
