Jew-hating, Christian-hating twits abound on Twitter

The leader of a pro-Israel ministry finds it dangerous that a popular social media platform is being exploited by millions of people to spread their message of hatred toward Jews and Christians.
A report by the Anti-Defamation League estimates that about three million Twitter users posted or re-posted at least 4.2 million anti-Semitic messages in English in a one-year period that ended on January 28. Those messages, says the ADL, have spread negative stereotypes and conspiracy theories about Jews on the social media platform. AP quotes the League's national director saying that, according to the data, many have used Twitter as a "megaphone to harass and intimidate Jews."
Jan Markell, founder and president of Olive Tree Ministries, isn't surprised by the escalation. Anti-Semitism, she says, "is raising its ugly head in gigantic proportion" over the last five to ten years.
