Are you eagerly awaiting His return?
Amir's Blog
The Bible says that true believers aren’t of this world. Nothing in this world is to make us more excited than the place Jesus had gone to prepare for us!
Philippians 3:18-21 says, “… For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself…”
Are we weeping for those who walk in the world? Is our mind set on earthly things? Are we holding fast to our heavenly citizenship? Are we walking in the path of victory and not of destruction? Are we eagerly waiting for our Saviour? Are we aware of the fact that this lowly body of ours will soon be transformed?
As Paul said to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:8, “The crown of righteousness is awaiting not only himself but all those who love His appearing!”

Is our mind set on earthly things? Sadly my mind is sometimes still set on earthly things, but I'm trying to remember to keep my mind and heart set on heavenly things. But I've found too that the more I have my mind and heart set on things above as we're told in Colossians 3:1–2, the more others don't understand why I'm not into the things of the earth so much. Even when I explain that my true citizenship isn't here, but in heaven. I guess it's hard for most of us to really keep our minds 100% on heavenly things.

This is sometimes a struggle.. but especially lately.. Sometimes it feels as if we are perched on the very edge of 'things' and ready to leave but then someone needs a birthday present ...or we need to pay for the car.... In haste to solve the problems 'here' we forget about our need to consult with HIM... Where HE is...

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
