Siding firmly with Israel, Trump plainly no longer convinced Abbas wants peace
By David Horovitz
Meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Davos on Thursday, US President Donald Trump spoke unscripted about Israel and the Palestinians — and his remarks were music to Netanyahu’s ears and quite the opposite to the Palestinians’.
In May, hours after meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, Trump had declared in a speech at the Israel Museum, also in Netanyahu’s presence, that the Palestinians “are ready to reach for peace.” Aware of Netanyahu’s skepticism, Trump even reiterated: “I know you’ve heard it before. I am telling you. That’s what I do. They are ready to reach for peace.”
In Davos, by contrast, Trump was adamant that “Israel does want to make peace” but plainly no longer convinced about Abbas and the Palestinians. The Palestinians are “going to have to want to make peace too, or we’re going to have nothing to do with it any longer,” he said at one point. And a few minutes later: “They [the Israelis] want to make peace, and I hope the Palestinians want to make peace. And if they do, everybody’s going to be very happy in the end… It’s many years of killing people. It’s many years of killing each other. They have to be tired and disgusted of it.”

'PA leaders not interested in peace, US not going to chase them'
David Rosenberg, 25/01/18
American Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley blasted Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas Thursday, saying that the PA appeared to be unprepared to pursue peace, adding that the US was not interested in ‘chasing after’ PA leaders in a bid to reboot talks between the PA and Israel.
Speaking during a United Nations Security Council meeting on the Middle East Thursday, Haley hit PA chairman Abbas over his January 14th speech at a gathering of senior Palestine Liberation Organization members in Ramallah.
During his address, Abbas excoriated President Trump, claiming that the US had delivered a “slap in the face” to the PA by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, warning that the PA would “slap back”.
Abbas cursed the president, saying in Arabic “May your house be destroyed,” and drew upon anti-Semitic conspiracy theories claiming that the State of Israel was part of a European colonial project intended to maintain control over the Middle East.

Abbas threatens U.S. with 'terrorists'
Bob Unruh
President Trump hasn’t been pleased with the Palestinians’ refusal to consider compromises to achieve Middle East peace.
So he’s decided to withhold tens of millions of dollars of U.S. taxpayer funding from the Palestinian Authority.
And what answer does he get?
The threat of terrorism.
Bloomberg reported the recent threat to the United Nations Security Council from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who also demanded that Trump designate Jerusalem, which the president recognized in December as Israel’s capital, as a capital for “Palestine.”
Abbas, who renewed a demand for a conference this year to seek a Mideast accord, has warned he will not meet with U.S. officials until the Jerusalem embassy decision is reversed.
He went far beyond that, though.
“He finished his address with a warning – which others may read as a threat – of violence unless the U.S. restores funds that were cut to the UN Relief and Works Agency, which administers to millions of Palestinian refugees,” the report said.
“If you end your assistance they become terrorists or refugees in Europe,” Abbas said. “It’s either that or you continue to support UNRWA until the crisis ends. We are ready to begin negotiations. We beg you to help us so that we may not commit an act that goes against our beliefs and your beliefs.”
A White House spokesman dismissed Abbas’ rhetoric as “old talking points.”

With Omnibus Bill, Donald Trump Signs Taylor Force Act to Defund Palestinian Terror
by Joel B. Pollak 23 Mar 2018
President Donald Trump signed the Taylor Force Act on Friday, which was attached to the omnibus spending bill and passed into law along with the rest of the legislation.
Trump has been excoriated by conservatives for signing the omnibus, a bloated package that gave Democrats almost everything they wanted except amnesty for illegal aliens. But the passage of the Taylor Force Act is a silver lining — and a milestone in foreign policy that could save taxpayers money.
The Taylor Force Act will end U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority (PA) as long as it pays stipends to Palestinian terrorists — either those in Israeli prisons, or the families of those who are deceased.
...
Though the Trump administration had repeatedly asked the PA to stop the payments to terrorists, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas made it clear he had no intention of doing so. Unless he changes his stance, the Taylor Force Act will force drastic cuts to the PA for all but humanitarian aid.
The potential implications of the Taylor Force Act are profound. For the first time, the PA will pay a direct price for supporting terror indirectly. Other countries may follow suit. And the U.S. will speak with greater moral clarity about the principle that terrorism is inexcusable.

Major Victory: U.S. to Stop Funding Palestinian Authority over “Pay for Slay” Payments to Terrorists at War With Israel
By ACLJ.org
In a big victory for America and our ally Israel, and a fitting tribute to an American soldier, one of the most heinous misuses of U.S. tax dollars ever has come to an end.
For years, the “pay for slay” program used American aid money to subsidize terrorists at war with Israel. The Palestinian Authority (PA) utilized hundreds of millions of free U.S. tax dollars as it recruited and rewarded new jihadists to murder Americans and Israelis.
The American people should not be paying for terrorism. We’ve been aggressively calling on Congress to end this atrocious program for years. Now with the passage of the Taylor Force Act, they finally have.
The Taylor Force Act was included in the omnibus spending bill that just recently passed the House and the Senate and was signed into law by the President. The legislation cuts off all U.S. taxpayer funding to the PA until it stops funneling money to terrorists through its “pay for slay” program.
For years the PA has been paying the families of terrorists who slaughter innocent Israeli civilians. While at the same time, the U.S. has been forking over hundreds of millions of dollars to the PA. As we have long detailed, money is fungible, and the reality is U.S. tax dollars are helping subsidize this “pay for slay” program. Not only does “pay for slay” promote and reward terrorists who kill Israelis, but also those who kill Americans.

US Mulls Closing PLO Office After Recommendation of War Crimes Probe Against Israel
By Jonathan Benedek May 23, 2018
“The face of Hashem is set against evildoers, to erase their names from the earth.” Psalms 34:17
The United States may close the Palestine Liberation Organization’s office in Washington, DC in response to a decision by the Palestinian Authority’s foreign minister, Riad Malki to call for an “immediate investigation” by the International Criminal Court (ICC) into alleged Israeli “war crimes” against the Palestinians.
“We are reviewing this latest development to determine if it requires changes to the operating status of the PLO office in Washington, D.C., which has been limited to activities related to achieving a lasting, comprehensive peace between the Israelis and Palestinians since November 2017,” a National Security Council spokesperson said according to the Times of Israel.
“The US continues to believe that direct negotiations between the two parties are the only way to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace,” the official added. “Involving the ICC does not get us closer to peace.”
US State Department Spokesperson, Heather Nauert made similar remarks during a press conference on Tuesday, referring to such a course of action by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to be “counterproductive.”
“We have long believed that these types of actions are not conducive to peace,” she said.

U.S. Stops Funding to Palestinian Authority for Continuing Its “Pay for Slay” Program to Reward Terrorists
By ACLJ.org August 31, 2018
Earlier this year, the President promised to cut funding to the terrorist affiliated Palestinian Authority (PA) as long as they continued to reward the families of terrorists.
Now the President’s Administration has gone a step further, cutting off even more funding by withholding a significant sum of money – roughly $200 million dollars – that had been previously earmarked to go to the PA.
We’ve told you about the Taylor Force act stopping funding to the Palestinian Authority (PA) until they stopped their “pay for slay” program.
As we’ve previously pointed out, the PA has been paying out an estimated $300 million each year to incentivize and reward terrorists. At the same time, the U.S. has been providing at least $400 million in taxpayer dollars annually to the PA. Not only are these barbaric attacks, but the fact that American tax dollars have subsidized them is simply unconscionable.
For years, the PA has used American aid money and money from the U.S. taxpayer-funded U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to subsidize its “pay for slay” program, enticing and enlisting new terrorist soldiers in its war against Israel.
Withholding upwards of $200 million dollars the PA was already counting on should help to slow their martyr recruitment efforts. Hundreds of millions of free U.S. tax dollars already sent to the PA have been used to recruit and rewarded new jihadists for murdering Americans and Israelis.
The United States will not fund rewards for the families of bloodthirsty terrorists such as the one who savagely stabbed Texas-born Retired Army Officer Taylor Force to death while he was in Israel studying to earn an MBA. Force was a West Point graduate who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Palestinian Leadership To US - We Despise You, Now Give Us Our Money
By Bassam Tawil/Gatestone Institute
September 04, 2018
The question of Palestinian responsiveness is once again on display as Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and his senior officials in Ramallah step up their verbal attacks on the US administration after its decision to cut $200 million in American financial aid to the Palestinians.
Abbas and the PA leadership are again behaving like spoiled, angry children whose candy has been taken away from them, hurling abuse at the Trump administration. Recall that earlier this year, Abbas called US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman a "son of a dog."
For the past 9 months, the Palestinian leaders have been waging a massive and unprecedented campaign of incitement and abuse against Trump and his administration. This campaign began immediately after Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital in December 2017, and the campaign is continuing to this day as a reply to the US decision to slash $200 million from the American financial aid to the Palestinians.
Significantly, the PA and its leaders were the ones who initiated the crisis with the US administration. Their dissatisfaction with Trump's announcement on Jerusalem may be understandable, but they chose to take their protest to an extreme by boycotting the US administration and waging a smear campaign against Trump and his "Jewish advisors and envoys."
It is clear that the Palestinian boycott of the US administration did not include receiving funds from the Americans. One the one hand, the Palestinians have been boycotting and badmouthing US administration officials. On the other hand, Abbas and his representatives are now crying that the US administration is slashing $200 million of its financial aid to the Palestinians. If this isn't cheek in its finest form, what is?
The Arabic word for cheek, by the way, is wakaha. Were Abbas to behave in the same manner towards an Arab country for cutting financial aid to the Palestinians, he would have been accused by his Arab brothers of displaying wakaha at its best. Abbas, however, would think ten times before he uttered a bad word against any Arab country.
The Palestinians are basically telling the Americans: We have the right to condemn you every day, to burn your flags and photos of your president, to incite against you, to launch weekly protests against you, to accuse you of being under the "influence of the Jewish and Zionist lobby" and, at the same time, we have the right to continue receiving US taxpayer money.
