Why are the nations in an uproar?
Jack Engelhard, 10/12/17
King David’s Psalm number two opens with the rhetorical question – “Why are the nations in an uproar?”
Well now we know. The European nations (nearly all of them) that conspired with Germany to wipe out the Jews barely 75 years ago, cannot accept the fact that Israel Lives. That’s one. Two, that Israel lives with Jerusalem as its capital, as endorsed by the United States through President Trump – it’s driving them crazy.
Delirium has set in from France, Germany (that’s nerve), Britain, Sweden and throughout the European Union.
They can’t forgive Trump for being so heroic and they will never forget him for his refusal to act the Quisling like Obama.
Watch them now as they try to undo what’s been done in the finest hour (over the recent years) between the United States and Israel.
Too bad and too late. America has spoken and it’s final. The ink has dried.
But listen to this: “The European Union has a clear and united position. We believe the only realistic solution to the conflict between Israel and Palestine is based on two states and with Jerusalem as the capital of both,” EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini told a news conference.
Sure thing, Frederica. Good luck with that. The Palestinian Arabs can’t get it together between Hamas and the PA but you expect them to live in peace with Israel in a shared Jerusalem…and if the mean streets throughout Syria, Iraq and Yemen don’t tip you off as to what a shared Jerusalem would look like, you are beyond delusional.

Leaving for Paris, Netanyahu slams European ‘hypocrisy’ on Jerusalem
By Raphael Ahren
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set off for a two-day trip to Paris and Brussels on Saturday night, criticizing European “hypocrisy” and “double standards” in remarks he made to the press before take-off.
Boarding the plane to Paris, Netanyahu said that while he ascribes “great importance” to Europe, he could not tolerate how some countries were quick to slam US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital last week, but failed to condemn rocket fire from Gaza into Israel in the past two days or Palestinian incitement.
“While I respect Europe, I am not prepared to accept a double standard from it,” Netanyahu said. “I hear voices from there condemning President Trump’s historic statement but I have not heard condemnations of the rockets fired at Israel or the terrible incitement against it.”
“I am not prepared to accept this hypocrisy, and as usual at this important forum, I will present Israel’s truth without fear and with head held high,” he added. Netanyahu will be meet in Brussels with European Union leaders on Monday.
Protests broke out in much of the Muslim world following Trump’s declaration, in a speech on Wednesday, that he recognized Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and would ultimately move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem – With such high stakes, Christians need to engage in thoughtful, respectful conversations with Israelis, Arabs and each other about how to find true and lasting peace.
(Washington, D.C.) — Today, FoxNews.com published a new column of mine. While I wouldn’t have written the headline quite the way they did, I am grateful they allowed me to lay out my thoughts in an op-ed significantly longer than they usually run.
Here is the column in full:
AFTER TRUMP RECOGNIZES JERUSALEM AS ISRAEL’S CAPITAL, EVANGELICALS WORK FOR PEACE BETWEEN JEWS & ARABS
By Joel C. Rosenberg, December 9, 2017
Many evangelical Christians are rejoicing over President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to begin planning to move the U.S. Embassy there from Tel Aviv.
However, other evangelicals who love Israel and believe Jerusalem is the biblical and historic capital of the Jewish State see the timing of the president’s decision as a mistake. They are concerned the move will cause more tension and violence, not create conditions more conducive to peace.
Most Palestinian and other Arab Christians in Jordan, Egypt and elsewhere are also opposed to the decision for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they worry renewed violence could be directed at them and their children.

Armageddon? Bring It On: The Evangelical Force Behind Trump's Jerusalem Speech
Allison Kaplan Sommer Dec 11, 2017
The U.S. evangelical community is in raptures over Trump's decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel, believing it moves the world closer to Armageddon
Anyone wondering what the true impetus was behind U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision on Wednesday to unilaterally recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital needed only to view the image of the president when he made the formal announcement. ...
In order to truly understand the centrality of this “theological dog-whistle” to Trump’s evangelical base, you must take their religious beliefs seriously, argued progressive Christian commentator and pundit Diana Butler Bass, in a widely circulated thread on Twitter. Bass said the Jerusalem issue was so important to evangelicals because it is necessary to regain Judeo-Christian control of the Temple Mount.
Much chatter on news and online about WHY Trump wants to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital. — Diana Butler Bass (@dianabutlerbass) December 6, 2017
This is vital, she explained, because rebuilding the Temple would initiate the “end-time” laid out in the Book of Revelation. End-time is a fundamentalist Christian belief in a prophecy that the living and the resurrected will one day be delivered from the Earth by God, their bodies transformed and protected in heaven, as he pours out his wrath on the sinners left behind.
Butler Bass asserted that “of all the possible theological dog-whistles to his evangelical base,” the Jerusalem declaration “is the biggest. Trump is reminding them that he is carrying out God’s will to these Last Days. They’ve been waiting for this, praying for this,” she wrote. “They want war in the Middle East. The Battle of Armageddon, at which time Jesus Christ will return to the Earth and vanquish all God’s enemies. For certain evangelicals, this is the climax of history. And Trump is taking them there. To the promised judgment, to their sure victory. The righteous will be ushered to heaven; the reprobate will be banished to hellfire.”

Europe would not last a week if it had to face what Israel does
Giulio Meotti, 13/12/17
I was watching the videos from Ramallah and elsewhere of the Palestinian riots against the blessed American decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. All those Israeli policemen and soldiers engaged in dispelling the riots and violence without inflicting losses but managing to contain the damage.
These young Israelis doing such a tragic job are the same age as I am, at night they return to their wives and children, mothers and fathers. They are not shaheeds, they care about human life, their own and the ones of the people they must confront in the streets. They are the face of a state dealing with this drama for the last 70 years.
Then I thought of all the blackmail, the attacks, the wars, the threats, the tension and the death drawings that the world prepares for the small Jewish state with whose disappearance it is obsessed. And I thought, looking and looking at those images, that no European country, not one, would survive a week of this instead of Israel.

Europe’s War Against the Jewish State
By Caroline Glick December 13, 2017 , 10:00 am
Europe is the epicenter of the political war against Israel. Europe fights Israel on the streets of Europe. Europe fights Israel in the corridors of power in Brussels, other Western European capitals, and the UN. Europe fights Israel in Israel itself.
Europe’s war against Israel is a passive-aggressive campaign fought and denied simultaneously. But in recent years, the mask has fallen over and over again.
In the days that have passed since US President Donald Trump’s dramatic announcement that the US recognizes that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital and is beginning to take concrete steps to move its embassy to the city, Europe’s war against Israel has again become impossible to deny or ignore. Europe’s response to Trump’s announcement has been extreme, violent and more outspoken than the response of the Arab world.

What the War Over Jerusalem is Really About
By Daniel Greenfield December 13, 2017
The Palestinian Authority’s boss warned that recognizing Jerusalem will “destroy the peace process”. The PLO’s envoy in D.C. threatened that it would be the “final lethal blow” and “the kiss of death to the two-state solution”. A top PA advisor claimed it “will end any chance of a peace process.”
A day later, the peace process is still as alive and as dead as it ever was.
Since the chance of a peace process is about the same as being hit by lightning while scoring a Royal Flush, that “chance” doesn’t amount to anything. The peace process has been deader than Dracula for ages. And even a PLO terrorist should know that you can’t threaten to kill a dead hostage.
The only kiss of death here came from Arafat.
Peace wasn’t killed though. It was never alive. Because a permanent peace is Islamically impossible.
“The world will pay the price,” warned Mahmoud Habash, the Palestinian Authority’s Supreme Sharia judge. ...
It’s not about a “piece of land here or there”, as the PA’s top Sharia judge clarifies, it’s a religious war. And Israel is not just a religious war between Muslims and Jews, but a shifting frontier in the larger war between Islam and the rest of the world. It’s another territory to be conquered on the way to Europe. And Europe is another territory to be conquered on the way to America.
There can be no peace in a religious war. Nor is there anything to negotiate.
“It isn’t possible to compromise on or negotiate over Jerusalem,” Habash had said. “In politics, there can be compromises here and there… In politics, there can be a negotiation. However, in matters of religion, faith, values, ethics, and history, there can be no compromises.”

Turkey's Erdogan threatens to wipe out Jews
Art Moore WND
President Obama praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as “a man of action” and one of the five world leaders with whom he had the strongest bond. President Trump met with him at the White House last spring.
And certainly Erdogan has tried to portray himself to Western leaders as a pragmatist with whom they can work.
But at a convention of his ruling party Sunday, Erdogan invoked a Muslim hadith — a collection of the accounts and sayings of Muhammad — that made clear his view of Jews and the state of Israel, according to dissident Turkish journalist Abdullah Bozkurt, the Investigative Project on Terrorism reported.
“Those who think they own Jerusalem better know that tomorrow they won’t be able to hide behind trees,” Erdogan said, according to Bozkurt.
That statement essentially is an affirmation of a prophecy that all Jews will one day be destroyed, the journalist said. ...
In May, Erdogan watching his security officials beat protesters outside Turkey’s embassy in Washington. Members of his security team also clashed with demonstrators in 2016 outside the Brookings Institution in Washington, where he was giving a speech.
Brookings issued a statement at the time saying the security team “behaved unacceptably — they roughed up protesters outside the building and tried to drag away ‘undesired’ journalists, an approach typical of the Russians or Chinese.”

White House: Abbas’s Threatening Rhetoric Has ‘Prevented Peace for Decades’
By JNS December 14, 2017
“For the villain speaks villainy and plots treachery; to act impiously and to preach disloyalty against Hashem; to leave the hungry unsatisfied and deprive the thirsty of drink.” Isaiah 32:6
The White House criticized Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday for his comments against U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, saying that such rhetoric has “prevented peace for decades.”
“[President Donald Trump] remains as committed to peace as ever. This rhetoric, which has prevented peace for years, is not surprising as we anticipated reactions like this,” said a senior White House official in comments distributed to various media. “We will remain hard at work putting together our plan, which will benefit the Israeli and Palestinian peoples.”
The White official also stated that the Palestinians should “ignore the distortions and instead focus on what the president actually said last week: the specific boundaries of Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem are subject to final status negotiations between the parties, the United States continues to take no position on any final status issues, and the United States would support a two-state solution if agreed to by both sides.”

Turkey vows to open 'Palestinian embassy' in Jerusalem
David Rosenberg, 17/12/17
Turkey’s president vowed Sunday that his country would open an embassy in eastern Jerusalem, after a coalition of Islamic states recognized portions of the Israeli capital city as the capital of a Palestinian state. ...
On Sunday, Erdogan issued an additional statement on Jerusalem, adding that Turkey intends to open an embassy to a Palestinian state in Jerusalem, despite the city being a sovereign part of Israel.
“We have already declared East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state but we haven’t been able to open our embassy there because Jerusalem is currently under occupation,” Erdogan said at a meeting of the Justice and Development Party, Hurriyet reported. “God willing we will open our embassy there.”

Harsh Reception For UN Resolution Annulling Trump’s Jerusalem Proclamation
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz December 17, 2017
“To acquit the guilty and convict the innocent— Both are an abomination to Hashem.” Proverbs 17:15
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was presented a resolution on Saturday that if passed, will call for US President Donald Trump to rescind his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“Any decisions and actions which purport to have altered, the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded in compliance with relevant resolutions of the Security Council”, the text read. ...
Israel Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon slammed the resolution.
“As Jews around the world are celebrating Hanukkah, the liberation of Jerusalem two-thousand years ago, the Palestinians continue to try to reinvent history,” he said in a statement emailed Saturday night from New York. “No vote or debate will change the clear reality that Jerusalem has and always will be the capital of Israel. Together with our allies, we will continue to fight, once again, for historical truth.”

US vetoes UN resolution condemning Trump's Jerusalem decision
By Eric Shawn | Fox News
UNITED NATIONS – It was the first United States veto at the United Nations Security Council under the Trump administration, and the first American one in six years.
U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Nikki Haley, was the lone raised hand voting no on the Egyptian-sponsored resolution that demands President Trump rescind his declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.
''We do it with no joy, but we do it with no reluctance," she said. "The fact that this veto is being done in defense of American sovereignty and in defense of America's role in the Middle East peace process, is not a source of embarrassment for us. It should be an embarrassment to the remainder of the Security Council."
While the resolution did not mention President Trump, or the U.S. by name, it expressed "deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem," and asked other nations not to move their embassies to the Holy City.
Haley said the administration is not pre-judging Jerusalem's final status or the peace process. But she told her fellow diplomats that no country can tell the U.S. where to put its embassy.

Iran condemns ‘provocative’ US veto of UN Jerusalem resolution
By AFP
TEHRAN, Iran — Iran on Tuesday condemned the United States veto of a UN Security Council resolution rejecting US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, which it calls “provocative and unwise.”
US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley on Monday vetoed the draft resolution which was backed by all 14 other members of the council.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said the US administration “showed its lack of compliance with international resolutions by its provocative and unwise decision to recognize Al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist occupying regime.”
He said Washington’s veto despite the rest of the council supporting the resolution “proved that it seeks a compromise by trampling on the legal rights of all Palestinians.”
Ghasemi’s statement said Tehran was unsurprised by the American recognition, given its “racist and hostile policies that unilaterally back the Al-Quds occupiers.”

Since Trump's Embassy Announcement, Muslims Worldwide Chant for Genocide of the Jews
By Robert Spencer December 20, 2017
All over the world, Muslim protesters are warning the Jews that they will soon massacre them. This past week it happened in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, and Sudan, as well as in New York City, London, Sweden, and Berlin.
The chant is “Khaybar, Khaybar, ya yahud, jaish Muhammad saufa ya’ud.” It means “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Muhammad will return.”
This is not “We shall overcome” in Arabic. It is an open call for a new genocide of the Jews.
As I explain in my book The Truth About Muhammad, after Muhammad exiled the Jewish tribes of Medina, they fled to an oasis in northern Arabia called Khaybar. But even there, the prophet of Islam would not leave them alone. Muhammad led a Muslim force against Khaybar, not because they had attacked him or provoked him in some way, but simply because they had not accepted his claim to be a prophet.

UN defies Trump, rejects US recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital by 128-9
By Raphael Ahren 21 December 2017
The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday defied warnings from the United States and overwhelmingly passed a resolution condemning the Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and calling on countries not to move their diplomatic missions to the city.
A total of 128 countries voted in favor of the text, defying President Donald Trump’s threat — forcefully reiterated in an address before the vote by US envoy Nikki Haley — to cut aid to countries that opposed the motion.
Nine countries — the US, Israel, Togo, Micronesia, Guatemala, Nauru, Palau, Marshall Islands and Honduras — voted against the resolution.
There were 35 abstentions, including a number of countries that had been widely expected to support the move, such as Colombia, Mexico, Malawi and Rwanda. A further 21 countries did not vote at all.
By abstaining, Hungary, Croatia, Latvia, Romania and the Czech Republic broke European Union consensus on the vote. The EU had previously vehemently rejected any attempt to change Jerusalem’s status in the absence of a final peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians.
Haley tweeted after the vote that “65 countries refused to condemn the United States” — totaling the no votes, the abstentions and the no-shows.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, in a video, that “Israel completely rejects this preposterous resolution. Jerusalem is our capital — always was, always will be.” However, he added, “I do appreciate the fact that a growing number of countries refuse to participate in this theater of the absurd.” He thanked Trump and Haley for their “stalwart defense” of Israel and the truth.
