“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” (Romans 8:1) Many people are bound by feelings of inadequacy. They struggle with low self–esteem and unworthiness. Your sense of self–worth comes from only one Source, the Lord Jesus Christ. He would never want you to view your life as being less than the very best in Him.
That is what He has in mind for you—the best. When God thinks of you, He thinks of His Son and what He did for you at Calvary. He never considers all the mistakes of the past or even those that will come in the future (Rom. 8:1). Instead, God focuses on your potential.
He does this because His love and forgiveness are greater than any sin. The Lord hates sin, but He certainly does not look at your life and think, There’s no way for Me to bless him or her because of what he or she has done. God does not operate that way. Read Psalm 107 and discover afresh the chronology of Israel’s mistakes and how God continued to love them.
Is this a license to sin? Certainly not, but it is truly an invitation to love and be loved by the One who loves you the most.
You may think it is too late for you. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This is the glorious freedom Christ brings.
When you fall, God provides a way of forgiveness. He lifts you up and gives you a new opportunity at life. Only Jesus Christ can truly set you free.
O Lord, I feel so inadequate. Please lift me up. Give me a new opportunity at life—free from the shackles of unworthiness.
