Terror in N.Y. after U.S. interferes in Jerusalem

JERUSALEM – I’m here in the Holy City watching in sadness, but not shock, at the latest terror attack in New York City.
Twenty-four hours after I wrote a blistering column warning of consequences in America for interfering in Israeli policy-making in Jerusalem, New York City was hit with another terror attack.
Eight people are dead and about a dozen wounded after a Muslim man ran over pedestrians with a truck before slamming into a school bus and yelling, “Allahu Akbar,” a phrase that has become ubiquitous with terror attacks the world over.
I’m not a prophet.
I’m just someone who observes the news and patterns within the news.
And you would have to be in denial not to notice bad things happen in America and to America when Israel’s No. 1 ally in the world – and one of its few – meddles in the internal affairs of the Jewish state.

Manhattan attacker pledged allegiance to ISIS

More details are emerging about Sayfullo Saipov, the 29-year-old suspect in Tuesday's ramming attack in Manhattan.
Saipov, who had been living in Tampa, Florida, is originally from Uzbekistan, having arrived in the U.S. in 2010.
According to The New York Times, investigators discovered handwritten notes in Arabic near the truck used by Saipov that indicated allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS) jihadist organization.
At the same time, the newspaper said, investigators had not uncovered evidence of any direct or enabling ties between Saipov and ISIS and were treating the episode as a case of an “inspired” attacker.
The Associated Press quoted a law enforcement official who said that Saipov rented the truck he used in the attack about an hour before the attack.

Trump faults Senator Chuck Schumer for New York attack

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday implied that Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer bears some responsibility for a deadly car-ramming attack in New York because the perpetrator may have gained entry to the United States through a visa lottery program that Schumer championed in the past.
Eight people were killed and 11 were seriously injured in the broad-daylight assault the day before. Officials who were not authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on the condition of anonymity identified the slight, bearded attacker as Sayfullo Saipov, a 29-year-old who came to the US legally in 2010.

Saipov drove a rented pickup truck along a bike route in Manhattan, mowing down pedestrians and cyclists in his path. He was shot by an officer in the abdomen and taken into custody.
In a series of tweets, the US president vowed to further tighten immigration controls.
“The terrorist came into our country through what is called the ‘Diversity Visa Lottery Program,'” Trump wrote. “A Chuck Schumer beauty. I want merit based.”

ACLJ to Secretary Tillerson: You Can End the “Random Selection” Visa Invitation to Terror Now

Today, the ACLJ sent a letter to the Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, advising him that he has the power to immediately close the legal loophole used by the terrorist Sayfullo Saipov to enter the United States: the Diversity Visa Program. There is no reason this program should remain in effect any longer. We must protect American lives.
On Oct. 31, 2017, Saipov, who pledged his allegiance to ISIS, used a rented truck to mow down innocent pedestrians in the streets of New York City. His brutal rampage left eight dead and over a dozen injured in the deadliest terror attack in New York since 9/11.
Seven years earlier, Saipov entered the United States legally through the Diversity Visa Program. This program is a legal loophole, rife with fraud and is detrimental to our national security. We believe every legal action must be taken to prevent this sort cowardly act from ever happening again. That means closing this loophole.
As we have explained:
This program was created in 1990 by the Immigration and Nationality Act, codified in 8 U.S.C. §1153(c). . . .
This DV program “makes up to 50,000 immigrant visas available annually, drawn from random selection among all entries to individuals who are from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States.” Applicants must have a “clean” criminal record, reside in an eligible country, and have at least a high school equivalent education or have spent two of the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years of experience to perform.
In 2017, the word “random” shouldn’t be in our immigration code.
To that end, we have proposed a common-sense four part plan to reform our immigration system...

How Leftists Aid the Jihadis’ Deadly Cause

As Robert Spencer noted, vehicular jihad has come to Manhattan, after stops in Nice, London, Edmonton and other places. The Muslim Sayfullo Saipov killed eight and wounded a dozen innocents by running them over with a rental truck, the first fatalities in that area since other jihadists crashed hijacked airliners into the World Trade Center, claiming some 3,000 lives.
That prompted cheers from Muslims living in New Jersey, also home to Sayfullo Saipov. The jubilant jihadist, a 29-year-old Uzbek, acted on behalf of the Islamic State, which in turn is part of something much larger. Call it the Islamschluss, a global surge that should put things in perspective.
The West and the United States are dealing with a supremacist, expansionist religion that seeks to annex the entire world by any means necessary, especially violence. As in Austria, which the Nazis took over in 1938, the Islamschluss finds willing collaborators, like the weasely Herr Zeller in The Sound of Music. In America, the collaborators bring in Muslims by any means necessary, such as the “diversity visa” of Sayfullo Saipov.
The Diversity Visa program, launched by New York Senator Chuck Schumer in 1990, makes 50,000 visas available, on a random basis, to people from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States. Sayfullo Saipov is one of the lottery winners, though what he has to do with “diversity” is a mystery. Uzbekistan is part of the Caucuses region, so he’s a genuine Caucasian, like the Tsarnaev brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon.
Saipov had no skill America needs, but the Diversity Visa program is all about bringing in people America doesn’t need. The United States abounds in truck drivers and cab drivers, and has no need for Uzbek jihadists to perform those tasks.
