Boy ive missed out here. Refrigerators, pies, neighbors, mail, prayers, water purification, friends, families, health, celebrities.. I'm trying to catch up! Thank you for the instructions on the Mail Cindy. & next time I'll call, it wasn't an emergency tho :). Boy the fires from Canada are just socking us in with smoke. They are comparing the smoke pollution here to that of Beijing. People with asthma & the elderly are advised not to go outside. We've had continuous hot weather & 52 days with out rain! 😳
Today on my way in to freelancing I asked God for a sign on what to do about working in Seattle and came in to see the new girl, with NO experience, has all audio shifts....
Think the Lord is saying something?

Wow, Kel, it would seem that the map I posted on FB that showed your area being colder, this year, and the rest of the country being warmer, might have been color coded wrong. My weather, in this past couple of weeks have been quite cool. A nice cool, but way cooler than normal, for August. And every time I think I can get out there to mow again, it rains.
What does that mean? all audio shifts?

I want to put this here so everyone will hopefully see it. Proboards and all those who use it like we do, were obviously upset with photobucket's new demands and how they went about it. They've nailed down some great suggestions for places we can store and link to our graphics other than photobucket. As soon as I have time I'll post about all of it in the announcement forum and will try to remember to put a link to it on facebook too. So please keep your eyes out for a new annoucement coming, probably next week. For Ruthanne, glad every one is ok.....it's gotta be hard for sure. some good news from this coast, Ron's off the breathing tub and waiting for supper..... he's a very happy camper as am I. he's still got a long road ahead of him. Lulu, my continued prayers are with you and Ron. I'm so thankful, to our Lord, for bringing Ron through this ordeal, and continuing to watch over him, and over you. It will be a long road, and sometimes a rough road, but the blessings are abundant. Take my word for that.
Poor Ruthanne! Thanks for letting us know Cheryl, I'll be sure to be praying for her. Thank you both for praying for Ruthanne. I'll update, as soon as I know an update, or maybe Ruthanne will come tell y'all herself.
That would be great if she's able to come herself! In the meantime though, we'll pray...Boy ive missed out here. Think the Lord is saying something? No problem hon. I always worry when I don't see someone's question right away...Wow, the air must be horrid! I can't even imagine that. We sure have messed up this planet haven't we? I sure hope you're not having problems with your asthma because of it Kel.
I'm not comfortable making any kind of comment about signs Kel.... Boy ive missed out here. Refrigerators, pies, neighbors, mail, prayers, water purification, friends, families, health, celebrities.. I sure wish it would get cooler here. We had one nice day (nice to me anyway lol, with the weather in the 60's) but the rest of the days it's been in the high 80's or 90's. Hoping we'll get another cool one soon though. Morning all, Ron's doing much better, we are out of ICU, he's flirting and being his normal pain in the butt.. the word is he'll be here till Monday.... all your prayers were felt and very much appreciated..... weloveu much! That's wonderful Lulu! I'm so glad to hear it! I keep forgetting to tell you something that I remembered the other day when I was praying for you all. When Ron got his SSDI, they always automatically give you medicare part A and B, which would cover the hospital bills. Part A is free but they take money out of his check for part B, but of course don't mention that to you, you have to find out for yourself. Anyway, part A and B should cover a lot of the bill for you too.
I hope everyone has a great day in the Lord!

Praying for Ruthanne. Praying for Ron and Lulu.
Still hot here. Found out at lunch that a friend of mine here at the retirement center died yesterday. She led the ladies' Bible Study until her health situation forced her to stop. I know that she's completely healed and with the Lord.
Hugs to all.

So this means that the Lord is letting you know what direction, he wants you to go. And you prayed for direction, before you went into work. Isn't our Lord so wonderful, in the way He answers our prayers? No matter the size of our need, He is always there. And if we are listening, we hear Him. Praying for Ruthanne. I'm happy for your friend, but so sad for you.

Oh I was just talking to be talking about signs. Cheryl, All audio shifts, what I do at work, I'm the audio operator for news :) Nothing wrong with that hon, I just meant that it's really about impossible for one person to determine what the Lord has given another... know what I mean? She led the ladies' Bible Study until her health situation forced her to stop. I know that she's completely healed and with the Lord. Hugs to all. Awww, I'm sorry Margie. It's hard to lose those we care for even though we know it's only for a short time. It's weird because I feel the loss when someone I love dies too, but I also feel joy (assuming they're saved) because like you said, I know they're finally in perfect health and are experiencing more joy than we can even imagine here. Oh I was just talking to be talking about signs. Cheryl, All audio shifts, what I do at work, I'm the audio operator for news :) OK, I get it now....lol I think. I'm hoping she'll be able to get back home sooner rather than later.

Hi everyone. Just catching up on the post from the last few days, seeing what everyone's up to. So glad that Ruthanne is safe with her roof issues, and that Ron is out of ICU and flirting with the nurses (or whoever)!
I have been busy working at my new job; at the beginning I did not like it as much as I'd hoped, but have gotten used to it and am starting to enjoy myself. Man, those first couple of weeks I came home feeling like I was 100 years old! Had no idea that standing in one spot for 6 hours would be so difficult (approx. 5-1/2 hours standing still, and 15 minutes at the start and close getting my cart set up then cleaned up). It was tiring, plus my back was hurting badly, but this week I have began doing exercises specifically for spine strength and that seems to be helping a lot.
I'm leaving in just a few minutes to go on an overnight retreat with the ladies choir that I joined 4 years ago (Seraph Song). At the start of each choir season we have a retreat to work on our upcoming songs for the year, and of course for fellowship. It was at that retreat two years ago that I broke my foot, stepping on a stupid rock, so I always watch where I'm going since then!
We have decided that it is about time for our poor Thunder (our collie) to be put to sleep. It is hard to even type that out, but we've been dealing with old age issues with him for about a year now. It was gradually creeping up before that, but he had his first seizure last summer and things have gone downhill, even faster, during this summer. I will be getting in touch with the vet about that in the next week or so.
And, next week Daniel moves upstate to start college. We will officially be empty-nesters. That's what's going on here. Love to everyone, and keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Leigh, wear good shoes. That support your ankles, legs & back. I am so sorry about Thunder. I remember talking with you about our beloved boys getting older. Bucky is still hanging in there. His eyes are going now Being an empty nester is nice. I love my kids, but I love that they are self sufficient & invite us to their place It's a nice change & absence makes the heart grow fonder lol. You & John take care & have date nights :)

Yes Cheryl, that's kind of how I was looking at it. Not only is she and has been working all month, they put her in audio where they could have called me in & shared hours. (Someone quit). So.. it just shows me I don't need to spend the two hours or more driving I'll try to find a job around home. (I only work at the recreation center 3.5 hours five days a week, min wage- it's not a whole lot)

Yes, I finally saw her post, over there, too. She is trusting the Lord. It's why her spirits are lifted. She has an added situation, since that post.......still regarding the apartment, so continued prayers are very much appreciated.Hi everyone. Leigh, I'm so sorry about Thunder. He's been a part of your family, for so long. I hope Jelly Bean and he didn't already form a bond. That will make it so hard on all of you, in addition to what you're feeling now.
I'm happy to see that you are enjoying your job! I was so hoping that you would! Yes, that standing in one place is so hard! They need to allow the demonstrators to sit on a stool.
Empty nester. I'm not sure what that really feels like. I have a completely different situation, so I guess "technically" you can say that my nest is empty too, but in a much different way.
Have fun on your overnight retreat! And YES, tread carefully!

You & John take care & have date nights :) Yes! Good shoes. The key here. I'm not too keen on that saying, because too many times, I'd like to hunt that person down, who originally coined that phrase. LOL!! But, in your case, yes. Because you get to visit and enjoy their company, and then send them home. LOL!

(I only work at the recreation center 3.5 hours five days a week, min wage- it's not a whole lot) Two hours drive? Yeah......that would be enough for me, right there, to definitely look for something, closer to home. What do you do at the recreation center?
Well, as for me........I started out making a stove top unstuffed cabbage dish, for my supper for later on, but it's seems to be turning out like cabbage soup. It smells so yummy, I think I'll just eat it for lunch, instead of waiting for supper time. I'm making it with diced up beef, instead of ground beef. The "soup" result was because I accidentally opened up a can of tomato paste, instead of tomato sauce, so I just thinned it out with water.........hence...soup. LOL
I've been up since 2am, so eating early isn't such a bad idea. LOL

Hi all,
Its been busy here. Just popping in for a quick update. First, got Stans tests back and he officially has stage 2 COPD emphysema. The echocardiogram showed that the left side of his heart is very minimally enlarged and is what you wold expect from someone who has high blood pressure. They said not really anything to worry about as its very minor and shouldn't get worse as long as he keeps taking his BP meds and keeping his BP normal. The right side of his heart is very good and that is the side that would be affected if his COPD was affecting his heart so that means his COPD is NOT had an adverse affect on his heart at all at this point, praise the Lord! They are bumping up his oxygen at night as that test showed he wasn't getting enough and they are going to get a new sleep study done (instead of just monitoring his oxygen at night) to see exactly how much he needs.
Second, we got a letter from our landlord right out of the blue with no warning whatsoever that he wants us out by the end of the month. We got the letter on Monday, started looking on Tuesday, Chelsea found us a place on Wednesday, we paid the first month and started moving in on Thursday! And we can have the cats and Katies Dog! That was a week ago Thursday. We have lived here almost 9 years! Its been very busy trying to go through everything (we still hadn't went through all of Katies stuff and then we ended up using her room as storage and with Stan's health issues and me working full time, Chelsea getting ready for the new school year its been a very busy hard couple weeks. Not sure when we will be in the new place. At least another week minimum. But God has a plan so I'm not worried about it. It will get done when it gets done.
Your all in my thoughts and prayers. Lulu give Ron a hug for us all.

Praise the Lord that Ron is finally home! He's a man, he's going to try to do things that he should not, but I give him the good sense to concentrate on recuperating. Remember Ron, you have wires, holding your chest bones together, and it will take a good 6 months for those grafts to take and attach to your heart, permanently. ..........SO BEHAVE and listen to your wife! Sorry to be so blunt, but you know it is the truth.

I know that clicking on the "like" on posts, acknowledges the person who wrote it......but, I couldn't, in all good conscience, click on that "like", because I'm so sad for you Lee.
I'm so sad, because Stan is suffering so. I'm sad because I know what it's doing to you, to watch this happening, to the love of your life. And then to add insult to injury, you got victimized by your landlord, to move out with no notice. There are laws against that. I know that living in a small town, trumps that law, because of corrupt politics, but that's just not right. Not right at all. I am happy, though, that you were able to find another place, but right now, you just didn't need all of this. And now you are going through Katie's things...Katies room. Something that I know (first hand) that you were not ready for.
My prayers are with you, my friend.

I hope it's OK, to put this here. My sister has entered a photo contest on the weather site. If she gets the most votes, she can win as an amateur photographer. She loves to take pictures and actually has a LOT of really great lightning shots, but didn't want to duplicate someone else, so she used several others. This one has the most votes, right now, so if it's OK to post it here, and ask if y'all will click on it and vote for her, I would be so grateful.
NOTE: Scroll down, a little bit, to see her photo, then click on the orange (vote). After you click VOTE, it wants you to share it on facebook. You do not have to do that. It will still take your vote. And you can vote once every 24 hours. Thank you!
bit.ly/2uy7JZD
editing: I was hoping her picture would show up, here, in that link, but it doesn't. But, you can see it at the link. It's a daytime moon shot, over a corn field.

Hello, not much new with me, it is still warm here and my air conditioner is not working well, so I haven't gotten much done around the home. I am doing lawn/weed mowing. I put sunscreen on my face and neck, it was spf 50 sunscreen and it gave me a chemical burn on my face and neck, that was 4 days ago and I still have a rough face and neck, I don't have any medical cream to put on my face, I think I will have this for at least 10 days, maybe more. I do have some make up I can wear for when I go out for public shopping. I hope you all are blessed.

Use the juice, from inside the leaf and apply it directly to the burned areas. I'm so sorry this happened to you, and hope that my suggestion helps. I kept a plant, in my house, when my son was a baby and used it for diaper and heat rash and he was cleared up, within a day, each time. I don't like buying aloe infused products, because I'm pretty certain that the amount of actual Aloe is scant. But, the raw plant works miracles.

Trying to catch up with all the latest posts. Today, August 13, is officially Left Handers Day! I don't know if I'm the only southpaw on the board. My hubby, daughter and her 2 boys are left handed too. So is my sister and my Mom was.
Went to another funeral on Friday of a person I never met. He was the husband of a Sunday School Class member. It was a nice service, but the location was a little strange, I thought. This funeral chapel is in a shopping center - right next door to a Target store and across the chapel's parking lot are a McDonald's and a Subway Sandwich.

That is a strange place for a funeral chapel, but you can't beat the available parking! LOL Sorry....couldn't resist.

I used to be able to buy an Aloe Vera plant at wally world but they don't sell them now, I have looked. Maybe a home depot would sell them, but that store is too far away. I have not been buying plants because I haven't been able to keep them alive. There are wild plants here in AZ that look like Aloe Vera, but they are not, they are agave and yucca plants. I have been reading about weather worldwide, listening to or reading testimonies from people on chat, it seems that strange things are happening, but interesting to me that others feel the same way that I do.

Wow, I didn't know that. I thought that the Aloe was indigenous to the desert region. If I still had some, I'd mail a few starters to you. When I kept it, I had so many babies, that I had to transplant them in several pots. They grew all over the place. I couldn't give the plants away, believe it or not. No one saw the actual value. So, when we had to move, I just threw them all away.
I did see that they sell the plant through Amazon, though. But, I just found it at Walmart, where you can have it shipped. www.walmart.com/ip/Delray-Plants-Aloe-Vera-in-4-Pot/39195715

Oh Lorrie, I'm so sorry to hear that about Thunder. I know how very hard that is to do. Bless your heart! Knowing about thunder and that you'll soon be an empty nester probably didn't help your back any either as stress has a tendency to cause pain to be worse. I don't mean that as though the pain is in your head, because it's not, but stress quite literally can make pain worse. I'm glad you're able to do some exercises to help prevent it. I know you'll enjoy your retreat and it seems to be coming at a much needed time for you. God is good about things like that, isn't He? Having an empty nest was hard for me at first, but I grew to enjoy it. It really showed me how much I was enjoying it once I had grandchildren. I dearly loved seeing them as you know, but was always glad when it was time for them to go home lol. Praying God will strengthen, comfort and encourage you. You & John take care & have date nights :) That's a good idea about shoes Kel!I saw Ruthanne's post on FB last night when I finally went on there for a little bit. She sounded like she was doing well. I'm hoping she'll be able to get back home sooner rather than later.

LOL!
Yes Cheryl, that's kind of how I was looking at it. Not only is she and has been working all month, they put her in audio where they could have called me in & shared hours. (Someone quit). So.. it just shows me I don't need to spend the two hours or more driving I'll try to find a job around home.
LOL
Ruthanne is always in my prayers, as you are. I'm glad you're able to enjoy your soup. I'm afraid my stomach wouldn't be able to take that lol. Lorie..... Cheryl, the soup sounds wonderful! welp, we be home, Ron's pretty emotional, man what a scare this past couple weeks have been.....now the task begins at trying to keep Ron from doing things he shouldn't......he's so stubborn.... I'm so glad he's home Lulu and you can start sitting on him lol. The hard part for me was trying to find things that Bruce could do so that he wouldn't do the things he shouldn't lolHi all, Its been busy here. Wow, that's amazing Lee! God sure is good at getting us what we need when we don't have much time, isn't He? I can imagine all the work involved in sorting, packing, and moving. It's good to hear that Stan's heart hasn't been affected by the COPD and that he's going to be ok. It sounds like he has some very good doctors looking after him, and of course the Lord as well!
Thank you!

editing: I was hoping her picture would show up, here, in that link, but it doesn't. But, you can see it at the link. It's a daytime moon shot, over a corn field.
That's fine Cheryl. I'll be glad to vote for her. I hope she wins!Hello, not much new with me, it is still warm here and my air conditioner is not working well, so I haven't gotten much done around the home. Ouch! That sounds worse than a sunburn! I hope you're not in pain from it!Trying to catch up with all the latest posts. I didn't know that! I'll have to tell Jenn as she's left handed too lol. She's the only one of my five kids that are left handed, although another one is ambidextrous. I'm not. That is a weird place for a funeral parlor! Really weird! Somehow it just seems wrong, although I couldn't say why. I'm glad the service was nice though and that you were able to be there for your friend. They do sell bottles of aloe vera though. They have it in different forms. We got some that was with the sunscreen and sunburn lotions and , but they also have it with the regular lotions.
Yes, there's certainly been a lot of strange weather!

That's fine Cheryl. I'll be glad to vote for her. I hope she wins! Thank you for the prayers, Cindy. There must be an awful lot of people praying for me, because something happened to me, today, that has NEVER happened in all my 58 years! Two people from Church, came to my house and fixed a water line leak and trimmed my yard and helped me pull weeds in my flower beds! And they wouldn't take any money for any of it! I don't think there is one inch of my body that isn't in pain, right now, but I could not just sit and watch those two wonderful angels, do all that work! So, I did what I could, but I seriously could not keep up! The Lord is so good to me!! THANK YOU LORD!
Thank you everyone, who might click on that link and vote for my sis. The first prize is $15,000.00. A few people on my facebook page have voted, once, but not anywhere near the 87 people, I have on my friend list. I'm kinda disappointed with that. I really thought that people would be voting, since it isn't for me, it's for my sister. I sent the contest link to her, so she could enter it and hopefully win. (she really needs it) I didn't enter the contest, because I don't want to compete with her. I'll enter the next one, though.

Cheryl, I am glad to read about the help that you are getting from church members, now I don't have doubts about the church that you have joined, I think it will be a blessing for you and a blessing for them to have you be a church member. I was up early this morning and spent much time reading the Bible and thinking about what I had read about the brother helping brother, that is what real Christians do. So yippee!

It was a blessing, and is a blessing to be with this Church. So humbling. I will be going again, tonight. We are studying the book of Proverbs.

I finally caught up with reading. We have been very busy this 'summer'.... I use that word loosely ( 'summer')....
it's been the coldest we have experienced here so far...usually summer here is around 73-75 degrees.....but we have had mostly ( bar 3 or 4 'hot' days) in the 60's.....so yeah!
Still, I am not complaining.....I really really cannot tolerate 'hot' so 60's work... However, today it hit 70 so that was fine!
And my garden is not too bad either.
I will be praying for all of you...so much going on.
Where we live ( assuming we have a sunny day), the eclipse will be at 98% here... anyone else more or less in that range?

Yes Barb, here in Columbia we will be able to see the eclipse very well (don't know the percent though), and there is expected to be a huge influx of people. I'm thankful that I don't have to work that day!
Lee, so sorry to hear about Stan, but also thankful you were able to find an another place to live so quickly.
Lulu, glad to hear Ron is home and praying for his full recovery.
Hello to Cindy, Cheryl, Margie, Kel, Marlene, Ruthanne, and anyone else I've missed.
Well, today Daniel moves away to college.
I worked Monday & Tuesday and was off yesterday, thankfully, to take Daniel to lunch and to the dollar store to get a few more items he'll need for his apartment. John has a yearly physical scheduled for this afternoon, so we can't help him move today; I also have to work for the next three days, but we hope to go up on Sunday and take anything else he needs.
Finally was able to talk to the vet yesterday and she agrees that, even though she could give Thunder more meds to keep him comfortable, it would only be a band-aid to buy him a few more months, so I've talked it over with the family and we're all in agreement that it's time, so I'm getting ready to call and schedule that appointment for sometime in the next few days.

For those who will be able to see the solar eclipse, that should be interesting. I have heard that people are driving to the solar eclipse area from all over the place, so it will be interesting to see how many people show up from other states. It is an event for witches and warlocks also. It is still warm here where I live, with my AC not working it is cooler outside the home than inside the home. Cindy, you responded in a previous post that maybe pastor Scott would apologize to me because I felt offended by what he said, I thought to myself that I didn't think I would see that, well what are the odds that today I went to the scrolling chat at 4:30 in the morning and read this before what he said scrolled forward and I would not have seen it. He wrote, " My hearts intent is not to divide or to offend any man or ministry, but only to unite all thru Jesus Christ our Lord." I think it was the Lord's will that I saw that.

Y'all got me curious, so I checked out the website from NASA to see what percent my area will have and apparently, between Hopkinsville and Princeton, is the highest point of totality. It's supposed to last 2 minutes and 24 seconds at 1:24pm (CDT). No WONDER, businesses are closing for the day! In Paducah it's supposed to last 2 minutes and 20 seconds, at around 1:22pm (CDT) according to their reports. I am right in between these cities, in the path of the eclipse. I'm 30 minutes East of Paducah, and 40 minutes West of the point of the highest total eclipse. DARN! I could have sold tickets and had an eclipse party in my front yard!
