US ambassador: No question Russia meddled in election
By AP April 2, 2017
WASHINGTON — The US ambassador to the United Nations says there’s no question Russia was involved in the US presidential election and that the actions of the Kremlin will be addressed after the investigations are completed.
“We don’t want any country involved in our elections, ever,” Nikki Haley said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied his country meddled in the contest between Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton. While the Trump White House rejects any suggestion that Trump or his staff had connections to Russia, Trump himself has said he believes Russian operatives hacked Democratic Party emails but that any Russian involvement in the election didn’t affect the outcome.
US intelligence agencies report that Russia tried to help Trump’s campaign effort. The FBI as well as congressional committees are investigating whether the Russian government coordinated with Trump associates during the campaign.

Latest Obama-Rice Scandal Comes into Focus
by Roger Aronoff on April 6, 2017
What started out last year as an investigation by the Obama administration into Russian interference in our presidential elections has turned into the latest scandal involving both former President Barack Obama and his national security adviser, Susan Rice. The media are in full panic mode, attempting to keep the focus of the investigation on President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, while trying to shield Obama and Rice from the consequences of their actions.
What has become clear during the past week is that the focus of the investigation should clearly be shifting from alleged collusion between President Trump’s associates and the Russian government, in order to influence the election—for which no evidence has emerged—to the role of the Obama administration in surveilling, incidental or otherwise, unmasking and leaking information about the Trump campaign and transition teams, for which all sorts of evidence has emerged.
The question for the Republicans, who control every congressional committee as well as the executive branch, is whether or not they have the fortitude and integrity to ignore the pressure from the corrupt, liberal media and to expand or re-direct the investigation wherever the new evidence compels them to go.
The latest development is the unmasking of former national security adviser Susan Rice. Rice was outed this week as someone who requested the unmasking of people associated with Trump’s campaign and transition team.
As Accuracy in Media reported in a recent special report, “Obama’s national security adviser Susan Rice has now been implicated in illegally unmasking Trump campaign and post-election Trump transition officials in monitored conversations, according to Bloomberg News and Fox News. The story was originally broken by Mike Cernovich, who has more of the details including the cover-up of Rice’s role by New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, who was trying to protect Rice and Obama.”
In fact, Cernovich later revealed that his sources were people inside both Bloomberg and The New York Times “who revealed that both Eli Lake (Bloomberg) and Maggie Haberman (NYT) were sitting on the Susan Rice story in order to protect the Obama administration.”

Susan Rice unmasking scandal cries out for a grand jury
By Jay Sekulow April 05, 2017 FoxNews.com
Each day brings new headlines about the troubling surveillance of President Trump and his team by the Obama Administration. It’s time for an independent investigation--and a grand jury.
The more we learn the worse it gets. This week bombshell revelations show that President Obama’s National Security Adviser, Susan Rice, unmasked the names of Trump transition members caught up in Obama Administration surveillance. That unmasked intelligence was then widely disseminated and leaked to numerous media organizations in direct criminal violation of the Espionage Act.
Unmasking U.S. citizens in surveillance requires very specific legal and factual circumstances. By all appearances, the unmasking of Trump transition members was done for political, not national security reasons – a direct violation of agency policies and likely of federal law.
But beyond Susan Rice, there needs to be an investigative spotlight focused directly on former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who signed off on the troubling expansion of the distribution of intelligence materials in the final days of the Obama Administration.
It was Lynch who on January 3 approved changes to Executive Order 12333 that facilitated the spread of raw signals intelligence throughout the intel community, just days before President Obama left office. In effect, that revision expanded the authority of the National Security Agency to share globally intercepted personal communications with the government’s 16 other intelligence agencies.
What is not clear is why, after having the opportunity to expand the policy during its 8 prior years in power, the Obama Administration waited to change the policy just before a new administration was set to begin.
That is why we have filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of the Director of National Security (ODNI), and the National Security Agency (NSA). We demand to know the who, what, and why of this last-minute policy change.

Surveillance Hidden in Plain Sight: Susan Rice Leads the Effort to Unmask The Trump Administration
By Jay Sekulow
There are new developments every day providing more facts concerning whether members of the Obama Administration, actively colluding with both the government bureaucracy and compliant members of the media, have engaged in a crusade to delegitimize the incoming administration.
Here's what we know. First, the Trump transition team was caught up in surveillance conducted by the Obama Administration. Second someone in the Obama Administration unmasked the names of those on the Trump transition team who were caught up in that surveillance. Third, in its final days, the Obama Administration changed the rules in order to widely disseminate this information. Fourth, the deep state bureaucracy leaked this information to the media. Now we know who was responsible for starting this process.
Two new developments in the last 24 hours require the attention of every American concerned with the rule of law.
First, former National Security Adviser to former President Obama, Susan Rice was at the center of a deliberate effort to first review and then unmask the identities of individuals in President-elect Trump’s circle of advisors, campaign, and transition team, as a consequence of surveillance, which apparently arose out of eavesdropping within the meaning of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. This conduct appears to have led to the dissemination and leaking of classified information. This surveillance effort commenced possibly as early as July 2016 and, at Rice’s requests, continued through the transition period leading up to President Trump’s inauguration.
Second, since Ms. Rice told PBS on March 22, 2017 that she was ignorant of matters relating to the surveillance of the Trump team, the new revelation of her active involvement in reviewing Trump-related surveillance strengthens Ms. Rice’s well-earned reputation as an individual who is a stranger to the truth.

ACLJ Files Lawsuit and More FOIA Requests to Uncover Deep State’s Political Spying
By Jay Sekulow
News of the Obama Administration’s politicization of the American intelligence apparatus breaks at an alarmingly consistent pace. With each passing day, what once appeared to be “rogue” actors look more and more like an orchestrated conspiracy where the conspirators’ marching orders come from the highest levels.
But at the ACLJ, we’re not just talking about these developments, we’re taking action. This week we have taken our most significant legal action yet to hold bad actors accountable – including going to federal court – and to shed light on the motivations behind the abuse of the intelligence gathering power and the coordinated leaking of classified information.
As I told you last week, here is what we know:
First, the Trump transition team was caught up in surveillance conducted by the Obama Administration. Second someone in the Obama Administration unmasked the names of those on the Trump transition team who were caught up in that surveillance. Third, in its final days, the Obama Administration changed the rules in order to widely disseminate this information. Fourth, the deep state bureaucracy leaked this information to the media.
Now we know this goes far beyond incidental surveillance. This was spying on political enemies.
This week, the ACLJ took swift and direct legal action to respond to each of these developments – to expose the deep state and stop the corruption.
