I'm now in Ezekiel and the Lord has been showing me so much lately about the times we live in now. He's been especially pointing out that He is always in complete control of everything regardless of what it looks like to us, or how terrible, or even unfair things appear to be. He's also made a point of talking about nations and how He judges them and holds them accountable. I'd come to the conclusion some time ago that He had lifted His hand of protection from the US, and still feel that way. I'd go so far to say that the US is currently under His judgement, as are all the other nations. I believe we are at the same point Judah and Jerusalem were when God finally sent Babylon to destroy it and take the people captive. In other words, I don't believe there can be any turning back from where we are now. The people's hearts are far too hardened to repent of their wickedness, and that includes many who call themselves Christians. If you read Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel, and see what the people were like in those days, you'll see a very good description of what people are like today. The majority are idolators, with some who go through the motions of worshiping God but in their hearts still cling to their idols, and of course, some who don't even bother to pretend. There are only a very few who truly love the Lord with all their hearts and strength.
More and more I'm seeing what the Lord meant when He asked if He would find any faith at all left. I'm afraid the answer is, "not much", and that's so very sad. We could be a great light shining in this dark, dark world, but as it is, there's only a few flickering lights to be found at all. In those days, the people believed that no one could destroy Jerusalem because it was where God's Temple was and where His Glory had dwelled. But God removed His glory so the city and the temple could be destroyed. The majority of the people were unaware that His Glory was no longer in the temple though as they'd lost any real spiritual discernment by the hardening of their hearts. Many thousands of them died either from the sword due to the war, or from famine (again due to the war) or disease because of the famine and death all around. Finally the last of the majority of them left, were taken captive to Babylon. Interesting isn't it, since after the rapture, the majority of the world will again be captive to Babylon which is where the Antichrist will eventually set up his government.
Politics aren't going to help us anymore. Obama, and whoever is elected after him, have been placed in authority by God, basically as a judgment for not being obedient to Him. The laws and everything happening to our country are not random, not chance or bad luck. They have been ordained by God who has become totally fed up with people who are determined to follow Satan instead of Him. They prefer sin to holiness, just as the people in Jerusalem did. Even up to last night I shared political news on facebook, but I'll no longer do that, because it's pointless. It serves no purpose whatsoever. We know the evil appears to be winning, so it's not news. We know that evil is going to continue to appear to win too. Or at least we should know that. I say "appear to win" because that's exactly what it is. It's just an illusion for those who are really saved. For the rest, the majority, it's their ticket to hell. But for us, it means we'll soon be going Home, where we'll be safe while the Lord shows the rest of mankind what His wrath really looks like. In actuality, this is the beginning of the end. The end of sin and Satan, and evil. The Lord will allow the earth to become totally filled with it so that it's obvious to all, and then Satan will be locked up for 1000 years and the earth will be destoryed and He will make us a new earth to live on that's pure and clean and good. We will have been removed from this earth before all that happens and have our new bodies to enjoy on our new earth and in New Jerusalem.
Yes, we most likely will go through some very hard times between now and the rapture, or the rapture might happen even before today is over. It could! I hope it does. I don't know when it's going to happen, but I do know that it will be very soon and I feel badly for those who have believed lies and think they're saved but really aren't, and those who are saved but are being disobedient, for we will all have to face the judgment seat of God for the things we have done since our salvation. I know I sure wouldn't want to face Him, knowing I was still being disobedient even after being warned about it! As far as any hard times happening for us though, while they won't be fun, they will be necessary, for God never allows anything to happen to His Children that isn't necessary for their good. And that's the clincher...it's for our good. Just as you took your child to the doctor to get a shot for their good, even though they hated it and it may have made them sick for a time, you knew it was so they wouldn't come down with a terrible disease that could cause death or disability, and so was worth it for their good. So, in a much, much bigger way, everything we go through is also for our good. It's to make us more like Christ and prepare us for our real lives with Him for eternity. That being the case, we can all rejoice during these hard times, no matter what they bring, because we can know we're being made more like Him and made ready to take our places in God's Kingdom as His heirs.
Yes, God is on His throne and nothing is happening anywhere that He is not only aware of but in control of and one day soon He will be calling those who are truly saved to join Him in the air, to take us Home and present us to the Father. I can't wait for that moment...not to escape the hard times, but because I can't wait to be with my Savoir and God!
