I'd like to quote something from the back of a devotional book called: The Deeper Christian Life by Andrew Murray, from 1895 that shows us one of the very good reasons why spending time with the Lord each morning is so very important.
The first and chief need of our Christian life is, Fellowship with God. The Divine life within us comes from God, and is entirely dependent upon Him. As I need every moment afresh the air to breathe, as the sun every moment afresh sends down its light, so it is only in direct living communication with God that my soul can be strong. The manna of one day was corrupt when the next day came. I must every day have fresh grace from heaven, and I obtain it only in direct waiting upon God Himself. Begin each day by tarrying before God, and letting Him touch you. Take time to meet God.

Yes I know
Last week instead of meeting God I met with a neighbor who isn't exactly that Godly and I really sinned big time because of it.

It's so easy to fall back into our old ways isn't it? Thankfully we have a God who loves us and will forgive us. He's always picking me back up, brushing me off, and helping me continue on His narrow Path.

I agree Cindy. That fellowship with God starts for me when I'm walking to the bus stop to work. One of the few times that I'm alone where I can really talk to God and pour out my soul to him.

I usually wake up with a praise song running around in my brain, but I do read His word every morning before going into work, I keep my word in the car, at my station at work, and at home....with the work I do, I pray sometimes all day,but for sure off and on all day, while inspecting boards....

I did the same when I was working. That's so neat that you wake up with a song in your heart. I love it when that happens to me! I didn't realize it, but my boss told me one day that I always either sang or hummed while I was working. So I started trying to catch myself at it, and was shocked when I found it to be true! I see what you described as fulfilling God's Word where we're told “Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Ephesians 5:19–20)
