Trump: Israel is a ray of hope to the world
David Rosenberg, 11/11/16
Just two days after his stunning election victory, President-elect Donald Trump delivered a message to Israel, describing his personal affection for the Jewish state and hopes that his administration will be able to strengthen ties strained by eight years of tense relations between Israel and the Obama administration.
Calling Israel a “ray of hope,” Trump released the statement to the Israel HaYom newspaper, which is owned by prominent Jewish Republican donor, Sheldon Adelson. Adelson backed Trump in this year’s election towards the end of the race, giving tens of millions of dollars to the Trump campaign and pro-Trump political action committees.
“I love and respect Israel and its citizens,” wrote Trump. “Israel and the US share so many common values, like free speech, freedom of worship, and the special emphasis on creating opportunities for all citizens to fulfill their dreams.”
“I look forward to strengthening the unbreakable bond between our two great peoples. I know well that Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, and that it is the only one that defends human rights, and that it is a ray of hope for many people.”

After Trump Victory, New Era in US-Israel Relations Beckons
By JNS November 11, 2016
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Hashem, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
By: Sean Savage
Anti-establishment Republican candidate Donald Trump earned what many considered a shocking victory over Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton Tuesday, officially ushering in the countdown to a new era in U.S.-Israel relations.
While the last eight years have been marked by policy disagreements between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama, Netanyahu and Trump will agree on at least major issue: opposition to the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
In his victory speech, Trump immediately sought to unite a divided electorate following a heated campaign, saying he will be a “president for all Americans” and that we will “deal fairly with everyone—all people and all countries.” ...
While Trump’s campaign heavily focused on domestic issues, Israel and the Middle East—where U.S. troops are currently fighting in Iraq and Syria—played a substantial role in the debate over America’s foreign policy.
During the campaign, Trump made it clear that he would repair frayed relations with Israel, tear up the Iran nuclear deal, and move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Shortly before the general election, the Trump campaign issued a strong statement Nov. 2 in support of Israel, reaffirming the then-GOP nominee’s prioritization of the close U.S.-Israel alliance, support for Israel in international bodies such as the United Nations, and support for direct Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations without preconditions.

Trump sets sights on ‘ultimate deal’ between Israel, Palestinians
By Times of Israel staff and AFP November 12, 2016
US president-elect Donald Trump said he hopes to orchestrate “the ultimate deal” between Israel and the Palestinians that would resolve “the war that never ends.”
Days after winning the US presidential election, the Republican victor said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that “As a deal maker, I’d like to do… the deal that can’t be made. And do it for humanity’s sake.”
On Syria, Trump said he aims to shift away from the Obama administration’s policy of backing opposition fighters and calling for the ouster of President Bashar Assad, and instead focus on combatting the Islamic State.

With Trump victory, has Netanyahu won the lottery?
By GIL HOFFMAN 11/11/2016
When newly elected prime minister Ehud Barak was about to arrive in Washington for his first meeting with US president Bill Clinton in July 1999, Clinton could hardly contain his ecstasy.
After enduring three years of tension with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Clinton actively worked to get Barak elected. He sent his top strategists, James Carville and Stanley Greenberg, to help Barak beat Netanyahu, and then told reporters that he was eager to work with Barak.
Clinton said he felt like “a kid with a new toy.”
Seventeen long years later, Netanyahu is having a hard time hiding his joy over the change in power in Washington, and the prospects of working with US President-elect Donald Trump.
Burned from accusations he interfered in American politics in the past, Netanyahu remained carefully neutral in the election. In private conversations, he sincerely praised Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, and expressed confidence that he would be able to get along much better with her than he did with current US President Barack Obama and with her husband, Bill.
But Netanyahu, who looks, talks, and acts like a Republican, was obviously overjoyed when Pennsylvania, the state where he spent the formative years of his life, gave the presidency to Trump. It was the first time Pennsylvania had elected a Republican since November 1988, the month Netanyahu was elected to the Knesset for the first time.

Trump Team Scouting Jerusalem Locations for US Embassy
By Valerie Locke December 13, 2016
“Thus saith Hashem: I return unto Tzion and will dwell in the midst of Yerushalayim; and Yerushalayim shall be called the city of truth; and the mountain of Hashem of hosts the holy mountain.” Zechariah 8:3
Moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a “very big priority” for President-elect Donald Trump, said top aide and campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Monday. According to a report by Israeli media, the Trump team is already scouting sites in Jerusalem for the new building.
“That is very big priority for this president-elect, Donald Trump,” Conway told radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview on Trump’s White House transition.
“He made it very clear during the campaign, and as president-elect, I’ve heard him repeat it several times privately, if not publicly.”
Trump had promised make the controversial move several times during his presidential campaign, exciting Israeli leaders who anticipate an America which recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Trump Wants Netanyahu to Make a Historic First
Israel Hayom/JNS.org 1/3/2017
President-elect Donald Trump's advisers would like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attend his inauguration Jan. 20, the New York Post reported Saturday.
According to a source close to the transition team, the advisers are also exploring the possibility of arranging "a meeting of the two leaders before then."
If Netanyahu accepts the invitation, he would become the first sitting Israeli prime minister to attend a presidential inauguration.
According to the report, Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and other transition team officials "have been aggressively courting Netanyahu and want him to attend the Jan. 20 festivities."

'Trump: Good for the Jews' - Boaz Bismuth
Mordechai Sones, 16/02/17
The Foreign Affairs Editor of the Israel Hayom newspaper Boaz Bismuth in an editorial today (Thursday) summarized the implications of the Netanyahu-Trump summit, expressing the unambiguous conclusion that strategically and ideologically, "Trump is good for the Jews".
"If anyone persisted in doubting that President Donald Trump is good for Israel, yesterday's pre-summit White House press conference with Netanyahu proved that Trump is good for the Jews, despite the 'anti-Semitism in America' sirens heard since he won the elections. It marks the advent of a new, much more invigorating era in Washington.
"The joint press conference between the President and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was like a U-turn from everything we have heard, known, internalized, and ruminated on (without really digesting, however) for several decades.
"The two-state solution as the sole peace option, the Roadmap, multilateral negotiations, international initiatives, sanction threats against Israel, accusing fingers pointed at the settlements - essentially, these have all been rendered irrelevant; ancillary at best.
"Not only have eight years of Obama been relegated to history, even the Clinton era strikes one as archaic, antiquated, and in reality incompatible with the present. Trump has transferred Oslo and the peace initiatives to the treatment of archaeologists.
The Trump administration is working on a new formula, which certainly will not appeal to the Israeli left, but we also must wait and see how closely it matches the aspirations of the right. Overall, Israel has a good friend in the White House, and yesterday it was evident. While no one can really guarantee that peace with the Palestinians is waiting for us around the corner, we can expect peace with the White House. After eight years of Obama, it's also something. They told us we lost America? Not really.

Trump and Israel: True Love or Biblical Obligation?
By Olivier Melnick November 29, 2017
After less than a year in office, Donald Trump has done more to restore America’s relationship with Israel than in the 8 years of the previous administration. These days, supporting Israel is a dangerous proposition for anybody from governments to institutions, to organizations all the way down to individuals. Over the last few decades, Israel has become a pariah state in the Middle East and much of the rest of the world. Supporting the Jewish State is often seen as racist or colonizing.
Lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians appears as the Holy Grail of global diplomacy. There hasn’t been a US President since the rebirth of modern Israel in May of 1948 that hasn’t endeavored to bring peace between Israelis and Arabs in the volatile Middle East. They all tried different methods, and they all pretty much failed, even if some degree of success was attained, like the Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel under Jimmy Carter. ...
At first glance, some would accuse Mr. Trump of favoritism towards Israel, maybe blaming the fact that some of his family members are Jewish. But there might be another reason why the current US President shows so much support for the Jewish State, and that one has a biblical foundation. Vice-President Mike Pence has been very open about his beliefs. As an evangelical Christian, he understands that the Bible is replete with positive references about Israel and Jerusalem. Is it possible that Mr. Pence’s biblical worldview might be influencing President Trump? I am not implying that America has now turned into a country led by evangelicals, but what if, for the first time in decades, there was a strong biblical influence in the White House? Some even believe that President Trump has become an evangelical Christian himself.
One doesn’t need to be a supporter or opponent of the Trump administration to admit that Israel is very important to our current President. Is it true love or biblical obligation? as we can read in the Abrahamic Covenant of Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, I will curse him who curses you,” God made a covenant with Abraham promising to bless those who bless his descendants through Isaac and Jacob and the twelve tribes of Israel, i.e.: The Jewish people. If indeed, Mr. Trump chooses to align his foreign policy towards Israel with biblical truth, he is fulfilling the Abrahamic Covenant. Time will tell how God will bless Mr. Trump and even America, but the biblical promise of blessings received for blessing Israel eternally stands. Thank you, Mr. Trump!
