Obama Illegally Airlifted $400 Million in Cash to Iran in Unmarked Plane
Daniel Greenfield August 3, 2016
1. Obama had made a point of rejecting ransom payments to ISIS, yet paid them to Iran. The distinction is rather obvious. Both are Jihadist organizations, but Obama wants ties with the latter, not the former.
2. Funding Iran directly funds terrorism because the Iranian regime is effectively a terror state. Back in the Senate, Obama fought against the classification of the Revolutionary Guard, a key Iranian political-military institution, as terrorists. He's remained consistent since then.
3. This is simply treason. Obama is aiding and abetting the murder of Americans. He's funding terrorism. He's funding Iran's wars in the region, which aside from Israel, include campaigns in Iraq and Syria that have dragged the United States in.
Note the secretive Air America type tactics.
Since the cash shipment, the intelligence arm of the Revolutionary Guard has arrested two more Iranian-Americans. Tehran has also detained dual-nationals from France, Canada and the U.K. in recent months.
At the time of the prisoner release, Secretary of State John Kerry and the White House portrayed it as a diplomatic breakthrough. Mr. Kerry cited the importance of “the relationships forged and the diplomatic channels unlocked over the course of the nuclear talks.”
Obama picked up foreign money from foreign banks, put them in an unmarked cargo plane and then flew them to Iran. This is not the normative way of transferring money to foreign governments.
This is the way criminals operate. Criminals like Obama.

Trump blasts 'incompetent' Obama following Iran ransom report
Elad Benari, 04/08/16
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday blasted the Obama administration over a report in the Wall Street Journal which said it secretly funneled $400 million in cash to the Iranians in January, around the time four American prisoners were released from Tehran.
Trump called the incident a “scandal”, and pointed out that negotiations opened when his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary of State.
“Our incompetent Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was the one who started talks to give 400 million dollars, in cash, to Iran. Scandal!” Trump said, according to Breitbart.
In a speech in Daytona Beach, Florida later on Wednesday, Trump said, “We have a president who is frankly incompetent.”
The State Department has denied the money paid to Iran was a ransom payment in exchange for the American hostages.

Exclusive–Senate Intel Chair on Obama’s Pallets of Cash to Iran: ‘It Keeps Getting Worse’
by Neil W. McCabe4 Aug 2016
The Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence told Breitbart News Thursday the more he learns about the reality of President Barack Obama’s Iran deal the more shocked he becomes at its reckless disregard for the safety of Americans.
“The Obama Administration and Secretaries Clinton and Kerry insisted that the Iranian deal was beneficial to the United States, and proceeded with the deal despite warnings from experts and the wishes of the American people,” said Sen. Richard Burr (R.-N.C.), who is a direct descendant of the family of Aaron Burr, Thomas Jefferson’s first vice-president and the man who shot Alexander Hamilton in a duel July 11, 1804 at dueling grounds in Weehawken, New Jersey.
“Now, we learn that the administration sent pallets of cash to the Iranians, a designated state sponsor of terrorism,” he said. “This decision from day one was a bad one for the American people and it keeps getting worse.”
In addition to Secretary of State John F. Kerry, Burr said he blames former first lady Hillary R. Clinton for her role in the Iran deal as Obama’s first secretary of state. “This has been and will continue to be a bad deal for the United States. The administration, including President Obama and Secretary Clinton, is responsible for leading America into a deal that will arm Iran, the number one state sponsor of terrorism.”
“It alarms me as the Chairman of the Intelligence Committee that something of this magnitude was not briefed to me–not only prior to the exchange, but since the exchange,” the senator said.
Instead of hearing from the White House, as would be expected, Burr said he found about it in the paper. “Only through, in this case, The Wall Street Journal did the American people know the truth about what was committed by the American government to the Iranian government.”

President Obama’s Plane Full of Cash to Iran Recklessly Endangers America
By Jay Sekulow
As part of the disastrous Iran deal, President Obama surreptitiously sent a plane full of cash – $400 million taxpayer dollars – to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The bombshell report, detailing how the Administration flew an unmarked cargo plane filled with wooden pallets of cash (stacks of Euros and Swiss Francs) to the leading state sponsor of terrorism, has sent shockwaves through Washington and the rest of America.
The ramifications of this mind-numbingly disastrous move are earth shattering.
More than $400 million was handed over to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. This cash could be distributed by Iran to Hezbollah or any other terrorist organizations funded by Iran around the world, without any tracking or tracing.
The money was delivered the same day that Iran released four Americans it had wrongfully imprisoned for years.
One clear question surfaces: Did the Obama Administration break decades-long federal policy in paying a ransom for the Americans held hostage by Iran?
The recent Wall Street Journal report details how Department of Justice officials raised this question at the time:
Senior Justice Department officials objected to sending a plane loaded with cash to Tehran at the same time that Iran released four imprisoned Americans, but their objections were overruled by the State Department, according to people familiar with the discussions.
After announcing the release of the Americans in January, President Barack Obama also said the U.S. would pay $1.7 billion to Iran to settle a failed arms deal dating back to 1979. What wasn’t disclosed then was that the first payment would be $400 million in cash, flown in at the same time, as The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
The timing and manner of the payment raised alarms at the Justice Department, according to those familiar with the discussions. “People knew what it was going to look like, and there was concern the Iranians probably did consider it a ransom payment,’’ said one of the people.
They were objecting for very good reason. Since the 1970s, the United States has had a policy against negotiating with terrorists who have kidnapped or wrongfully imprisoned U.S. citizens and held them hostage. President Obama recently affirmed such a policy with Presidential Policy Directive (PPD-30), which states in pertinent part...

New details emerge on U.S. 'ransom' to Iran
Ben Ariel, 19/08/16
New details emerged on Thursday about the $400 million payment the United States made to Iran earlier this year.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the exchange was tightly scripted and specifically timed to the release of several American prisoners held in Iran.
The picture emerged from accounts of U.S. officials and others briefed on the operation, according to the report. U.S. officials wouldn’t let Iranians take control of the money until a Swiss Air Force plane carrying three freed Americans departed from Tehran on January 17. Once that happened, an Iranian cargo plane was allowed to bring the cash home from a Geneva airport that day.
President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials have insisted the payment didn’t amount to ransom, because the U.S. owed the money to Iran as part of a longstanding dispute linked to a failed arms deal from the 1970s.
U.S. officials have said that the prisoner release and cash transfer took place through two separate diplomatic channels.
But the handling of the payment and its connection to the Americans’ release have raised questions among lawmakers and administration critics, noted The Wall Street Journal.
The use of an Iranian cargo plane to move pallets filled with $400 million brings clarity to one of the mysteries surrounding the cash delivery to Iran first reported by the newspaper earlier this month. Administration officials have refused to publicly disclose how and when the transfer took place. Executives from Iran’s flagship carrier, Iran Air, organized the flight from Tehran to Geneva where the cash—euros and Swiss francs and other currencies—was loaded onto the aircraft, these people said.

US says $400m cash delivery to Iran was ‘leverage’ for release of prisoners
By Times of Israel staff and AP August 19, 2016
The US State Department on Thursday said that a $400 million cash payment to Iran was used as “leverage” to secure the release in January of four American prisoners held by Tehran, as negotiations for the implementation of last year’s nuclear deal were being settled.
“The payment of the $400 million was not done until after the prisoners were released,” State Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters Thursday.
“We took advantage of that to make sure we had the maximum leverage possible to get our people out and get them out safely,” Kirby added.
This is the first time the US has admitted to a connection between the release of the prisoners, including the Washington Post’s Jason Rezaian, and the funds. ...
According to Reuters, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Representative Jason Chaffetz, has asked Kerry to appear before a future committee hearing to discuss the cash payment.

GOP lawmakers blast Obama over Iran ransom saga
Republicans blast the Obama administration after it acknowledges a payment to Iran was contingent on the release of American prisoners.
Ben Ariel, Canada, 20/08/16
Republicans blasted the Obama administration on Friday after it acknowledged that a $400 million cash payment to Iran seven months ago was contingent on the release of a group of American prisoners, The Associated Press reports. ...
Kirby said Friday on MSNBC that the U.S. offers "no apologies."
"First of all, this was Iran's money, OK? It was money that they were going to get back anyway," he said. "The second thing that was going on here ... was that there was a team working to get our American citizens back. That was a separate track. And it's true that with the nuclear deal done these two tracks were kind of converging and coming together, and we took full advantage of that. We make no apologies for that."
Kirby added that "there isn't a lot of trust with Iran, so it would have been foolish and imprudent, in our view, to go ahead and settle the cash payment ... when we didn't have our Americans back."
President Barack Obama and other U.S. officials had previously insisted the payment didn’t amount to ransom before the shift in their position on Thursday, which sparked anger among several members of Congress.

So.....the S.D. tries to derail the concern for illegal, treasonous actions by blaming the media for being critical about it? Is that not the media's job? Wow, this is idiocy. Apparently, the SD's job now is to be critical of the media's criticism, which is blatantly defensive.

GOP leaders promise legislation on $400M payment to Iran
By Andrew Taylor August 31, 2016
WASHINGTON (AP) — A House leader promised Wednesday that Republicans controlling the chamber will pass legislation addressing the Obama administration’s $400 million payment to Iran in January, made immediately after four US prisoners were released.
Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy also promised in a memo that the House will revisit a stalled $1.1 billion measure to combat the Zika virus and enact stopgap spending legislation to prevent a government shutdown in October.
The California Republican did not give details on the Iran legislation. Republicans have announced they will hold hearings on the payment — for undelivered arms to the shah of Iran — which was made on the same day of the prisoner release.
“The committee is working on legislation that would prevent another ransom payment from happening,” said House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce, R-California, in a statement. “No more hidden cash payments to this state sponsor of terrorism.”
The administration says it was simply maintaining leverage and says GOP charges of “ransom” are unfounded. The cash payment, which includes $1.3 billion in interest, came as part of the loosening of relations in the wake of last year’s pact aimed at keeping Iran from manufacturing nuclear weapons. The administration says the release of prisoners was negotiated on a separate track, but that the delivery of the money was withheld until the prisoners were set free.
