I wanted to share one of my experiences with prayer to encourage everyone to keep praying, no matter what. There's nothing more powerful! When my youngest son was in the army, his troop was going to Iraq, but I prayed that the Lord would keep him here in the states, and while his whole troop went, he was kept right here! They assigned him to another troop as they needed his skills here at the time, and then that troop was being sent to Iraq! So I prayed again, and again the entire troop was sent except for him! Once again he was transferred and later, his troop was also up to be sent to Iraq. He called me this time and asked me, "Mom, will you please stop praying that I won't go to Iraq, cause I want to go!!!!" I told him I was really sorry, I couldn't do that, but that he could rest assured that if the Lord wanted him in Iraq, that His answer to me would be "no". Well, he didn't really appreciate that, but he did understand that as his mother, I just couldn't bring myself not to pray that he'd be kept safe here. Guess what? His whole troop went again, except for him!!!! Boy was he mad!!!!! 
I was totally thrilled though, because I knew my sons time in the army was just about up and that it would be unlikely that he'd be given another chance to go overseas. Sure enough, they didn't send out any other troops until after he was discharged. God is so amazing!
