Louie Gohmert Sounds The Alarm About Possible Military Takeover Of Texas
By Catherine Thompson May 5, 2015
Tea party darling Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) on Tuesday demanded that the U.S. military alter a planned training exercise that some conspiracy theorists believe is cover for a possible takeover of the Lone Star state.
Gohmert said in a statement that he understands Texans' concerns that the exercise, dubbed "Jade Helm 15," may be a precursor for martial law. He directed his criticism specifically at what has been reported to be a map of the training exercise, which labels Texas, among other states, as "hostile" territory.
"Once I observed the map depicting ‘hostile,’ ‘permissive,’ and ‘uncertain’ states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,’ and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution," Gohmert said in the statement.
"Such labeling by a government that is normally not allowed to use military force against its own citizens is an affront to the residents of that particular state considered as 'hostile,' as if the government is trying to provoke a fight with them," he later added.
The congressman urged the military to alter the tone of the training exercise and draw up a new map so as to dispel any notion that the federal government is "intentionally practicing war" against particular states.

‘Jade Helm’ military exercise causing political firestorm in Texas, western states
May 06, 2015 FoxNews.com
A massive military exercise planned in states across the American West has touched off a political firestorm, with several top Texas officials now questioning the military’s plans – if only to calm the Internet and constituent furor surrounding it.
The seven-state war simulation exercise, known as “Jade Helm 15,” is planned for this summer. It involves training exercises on private and public land – while such exercises are hardly unique, even the military acknowledges the “size and scope” of this one sets it apart.
While the White House and Pentagon are downplaying concerns, this hasn’t stopped a barrage of blogs and tweets warning about whether the federal government is preparing for “martial law.” Even actor Chuck Norris is keeping his “eyes of a ranger” on the situation.
Western-state officials are now caught between a desire to calm their residents – and yet not appear to stoke any conspiracy theories.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott already has asked the State Guard to monitor the training exercises, after officials faced worried residents at a packed town hall meeting.

Jade Helm: Americans fear federal control of states
by Bob Unruh 15 hours ago
The U.S. military has told WND that to allay fears and minimize concerns over a massive military training operation scheduled across much of America’s Southwest this summer, officials have met with local governments and briefed them.
And they say that it’s a combination of “inaccurate” information and “personal agendas” that is whipping up fears.
But it appears the message isn’t getting across, since a new poll shows nearly half of voters are concerned Washington “will use U.S. military training operations to impose greater control over some states.”
And one voter in five is “very concerned.”
The results come from Rasmussen Reports, which surveyed 1,000 likely voters May 7-10.
The polling company asked whether the government’s military training plan is an infringement of the rights of citizens, whether the respondent favors or opposes those exercises in their state, and how concerned are they over whether Washington “will use U.S. military training operations to impose greater control over some states.”

The Problem with Jade Helm
May 22, 2015 by Arnold Ahlert
...Gohmert has another idea that might assuage a number of concerns. “The map of the exercise needs to change, the names on the map need to change, and the tone of the exercise needs to be completely revamped so the federal government is not intentionally practicing war against its own states,” he declared.
While some of the concern over Jade Helm might be misguided, none of it has occurred in a vacuum. It arises from more than six years of an administration that has demonstrated an overt willingness to squander the trust of millions of Americans in pursuit of its agenda—by any means necessary. Americans would much prefer to see the military training to defend the homeland against ISIS rather than engage in insulting exercises against the “hostile” heartland of liberty.

I personally tend to lean towards conspiracy theories ( well not obvious totally silly ones) but they usually don't happen in a vacuum. Also they often have some real points and some turn out to be more mild than the truth.
This is a wee bit unsettling....even if the fighting is not really for getting martial law the very idea of 'hostile' states does not bode well! And why 'fight' against hostile states instead of a real threat isis?

Suspicious of the White House? You should be, says Gohmert
OneNewsNow.com Staff May 28, 2015
Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) is sharply criticizing the Justice Department, saying it's more likely "they will come after you" than after those he describes as "the potential radicalized murderers or the terrorists being let into the country."
"This administration has prosecuted more people alleging that they leak information than all of the other prior administrations in our history put together," he said Thursday on American Family Radio. "That's the tool they use to silence people who see damage being done by this administration."
Earlier this month – in response to concerns from constituents about military exercises scheduled to take place later this summer in Texas – the congressman expressed similar misgivings about the Obama administration.
"We have seen people working in this administration use their government positions to persecute people with conservative beliefs in God, country, and notions such as honor and self-reliance," he stated on May 5.
