France deploys nuclear aircraft carrier to fight ISIS
By Arutz Sheva Staff 11/5/2015
The French presidency on Thursday said it would deploy its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to boost its operations against the Islamic State (ISIS) jihadist group in Iraq and Syria.
The presence of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the flagship of the French navy, will add to the six Rafale jets stationed in the United Arab Emirates and the six Mirages flying out of Jordan.
The Charles de Gaulle did a two-month stint in the Gulf from February, from where strikes against ISIS in Iraq were carried out, before returning to its base in the French port of Toulon.
During this time about 20 aircraft carried out 10-15 combat sorties a day, according to the army.
France launched air strikes against the jihadists in Syria in October, after a year of bombing ISIS in Iraq, saying it was acting in self defense so as to prevent the terrorists from reaching France.

Russia and France seal new 'alliance'
By Arutz Sheva Staff 11/17/2015
Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Francois Hollande have agreed to step up cooperation between their military in Syria against Islamic State (ISIS), after the attacks in Paris and bombing of a Russian plane, the Kremlin said Tuesday.
"It has been agreed to assure closer contact and coordination between the military and security service agencies of the two countries in actions against terrorist groups by Russia and France in Syria," the Kremlin said in a statement following a phone call between Putin and Hollande.
Putin also on Tuesday ordered the Russian navy in the Mediterranean to establish contact with its French counterparts and work together "as allies" in a campaign against the ISIS group in Syria.
Putin instructed his military to work out a joint Russian-French action plan against IS terrorists as he pushes the idea of establishing a broad anti-ISIS coalition that would involve both Russia and the West.
"It's necessary to establish direct contact with the French and work with them as allies," Putin told the military top brass at a meeting, after Hollande said the French nuclear aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle would be deployed to the eastern Mediterranean.

French continue pounding Raqqa
By Arutz Sheva staff 11/17/2015
France launched new airstrikes Tuesday on the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa, in north-central Syria, while French police carried out 128 anti-terrorism raids throughout France overnight.
French military spokesman Col. Gilles Jaron said the latest airstrikes on Raqqa destroyed a command post and training camp, according to news agencies.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said 115,000 police, gendarmes and soldiers have been mobilized to protect French citizens, four days after ISIS massacred 129 people in Paris. He added that “the majority of those who were involved in this attack were unknown to our services."
A state of emergency was declared after Friday’s multi-pronged attack, and police carried out more than 160 raids throughout France Sunday night.
President François Hollande promised an unforgiving campaign against Islamic State and proposed changes to France’s constitution to help fight terrorist threats, in an address to Parliament Monday.
“It is not about containing but about destroying that organization,” Hollande said. “They are not out of our reach.” “Friday’s acts of war were decided and planned in Syria,” he told parliament. “They were organized in Belgium and perpetrated on our soil with French complicity with one specific goal: to sow fear and to divide us.” Syria, he stated, had become “the biggest factory of terrorism the world has ever known.”

Long-range bombers to fly anti-ISIS missions from Russia, Putin orders Navy to work with France
17 Nov, 2015 RTNews
Russia has deployed its fleet of strategic bombers to double the volume of airstrikes on Islamist targets in Syria, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has announced. Vladimir Putin has ordered a cruiser to coordinate operations with French naval forces in the Mediterranean.
“We are conducting a mass airstrike campaign against Islamic State targets in Syria. We have now doubled the number of sorties, which is allowing us to conduct operations throughout the length and breadth of the country,” Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said during a Security Council meeting in Moscow chaired by the Russian president.
Shoigu said that Russia’s Tu-95, Tu-22 and Tu-160 strategic bombers have been brought into the operation, while the Air Force command added that the strike group has been bolstered with 37 new planes, including Su-34 bombers and Su-27 fighter jets.
The head of the General Staff reported that the new phase of the anti-ISIS campaign will involve 25 long-range bombers flying out of airfields in Russia.

Obama Pushes France into Putin’s Arms
Cliff Kincaid — November 18, 2015
President Obama’s deliberately defeatist foreign policy has scored another major victory for Russia. He has pushed NATO member France and its weak socialist president into the arms of Russia’s Vladimir Putin. It may be that François Hollande felt that he had no alternative to deal with the international terrorist networks that have targeted his country and were begun decades ago by the old Soviet Union.
For those with short memories, in the 1980s the U.S. Congress examined in detail the origins, direction and support of international terrorist networks, which were then also based in the Middle East and Europe. A 1981 report by the Senate Subcommittee on Security and Terrorism cited evidence that most of the terrorist groups at that time were Soviet-financed and Cuban-trained. A concrete example was “Carlos the Jackal,” the Marxist terrorist trained by the Cubans and controlled by the KGB who eventually converted to Islam. The roots of terrorism are in Russia. Former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko was murdered by Putin’s regime in London, most likely because he exposed KGB training of al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. ISIS is a spin-off from al Qaeda.
President Reagan had rallied NATO governments in Europe against a Soviet nuclear threat and the international communist-backed terror networks operating during the 1980s. Today, under Obama, NATO is in disarray, and international terrorist groups are back on the march.
As the London Telegraph has noted, France has turned to the European Union, not NATO, for military resources to be used against ISIS. This move, writes Matthew Holehouse, is a “decisive shift” away from NATO.

Russia, France push UN resolutions fighting ISIS
By Arutz Sheva Staff 11/19/2015
Russia submitted a revised draft UN resolution Wednesday on fighting the Islamic State group that France said could be partially included in its own Security Council measure following the Paris attacks.
Agreement from the 15-member council on a single draft resolution that lays out the international approach to defeating IS extremists would mark a significant step after months of disagreements between the West and Russia
The Russian draft text was first presented to the Security Council in late September but was rejected by the United States, Britain and France over a provision that calls for battling the ISIS terrorists with the consent of the Syrian regime - a Moscow ally.
The new draft resolution still contains that provision, said Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, but he downplayed disagreements.
"We are calling for closer cooperation than we currently have now among all those fighting in Syria and Iraq," Churkin told reporters following a closed-door meeting of the council.
"One thing which was heard loud and clear in our discussions in the council is that there should be unity of the council. I don't see it as a huge gap."
French President Francois Hollande has called on the Security Council to quickly adopt a resolution to strengthen the fight against ISIS jihadists in the wake of the Paris attacks.

Hollande to tell Obama Europe can’t wait for US war of attrition with ISIS to succeed – report
19 Nov, 2015 RTNews
French President François Hollande is to call for the US to review its strategy in fighting terrorist group Islamic State, arguing that Europe cannot wait for America’s long war of attrition with the jihadists to work, the Guardian reports.
Hollande is to meet US President Barack Obama on Tuesday next week before going to Russia for a visit. The French leader intends to make Obama aware of the extent of damage done to Europe by the developing refugee crisis and the rising threat of terrorist attacks, a European diplomat told the British newspaper.
“The message that we want to send to the Americans is simply that the crisis is destabilizing Europe,”said the diplomat, who did not wish to be named. “The problem is that the attacks in Paris and the refugee crisis show that we don’t have time. There is an emergency.”
The source said that’s the reason why the French president will visit Washington on Tuesday before flying to Moscow.
According to the diplomat, Paris’ position is that the Europeans cannot afford to wait for years for the war of attrition that the US-led coalition is waging on Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Iraq and Syria, to take effect. There is an impression in Europe that the US doesn’t fully comprehend the urgency of the issue because it doesn’t have to take the bulk of the refugees fleeting Middle East and pouring into Europe in the biggest movement of people since World War II.

The man in the White House seems more interested that a boy who thinks he is a girl ( no hormone shots, no surgery) should shower, change clothes etc with HS girls.... than the rest of the world leaders who are fighting terrorists....strange.
I always thought Putin was a very bad guy, and I still do, but he seems to be better at fighting terror than 'our guy', and France seems to be doing better too.
What a sad day for our country!!

Putin appears to be fighting terror, but along side Iran, an even greater terror threat to the world and obama's policies have assured this.

Our president is such a weakling. This is a very sad time for our country.
As far as the boy who thinks he is a girl showering with the girls, well, lots of people slip and have accidents in the shower....girls can be pretty mean and devious...just saying....I wouldn't be sad...
But I agree, our president seems far more concerned about issues like this and climate change that about the security of our country.

txlulu LOLOL you made me laugh about the boy having an 'accident' from the mean girls. I don't mean I would want him to be seriously hurt but hey you are right teen girls can be a wee bit mean and seriously having an boy shower with girls is: Contemptible ridiculous evil insane preposterous ludicrous grotesque harebrained foolish outrageous etc etc etc. The girls should not have to be subjected to some ( at best) confused boy and at worse depraved, reprobate, criminal, peeping tom, potential rapist, etc.
Sorry to get off subject but this is what our so called president thinks is really important its just nutty ( I would have said something else but they might come get me....its just outrageous and I would have a hard time judging the girls attempt to make this go away!!
Maybe the girls can insist on shower doors or curtains? But seriously there is no way a boy ( his genes will always say he is male even if he allows doctors to mutilate his body in an attempt to be a "girl"...God made him a male) should be showering with young girls!
Yes he may have confused thoughts and needs God's help, and Biblical consulting, but this is not the girls problem!
Give the boy his own room or something
And our president needs a LOT of help if this is such a priority. Well, I have thought that from day one.

Interesting to read about this news, interesting video.
Hi txlulu. As far as girls being mean and devious, I have seen men be that way also. I once saw a man put soapy water on a restaurant kitchen floor, so that a certain waiter would slip and fall. The waiter had a tray full of food and slipped and fell and all the food went on the floor. I once heard it said that women are sneaker than men, but look out if there is a sneaky man because he is worse than a woman in sneakiness.
Sorry Daniel, I hope you are not rolling your eyes, this is off the subject, but women can get on a roll once they start talking.

Russia rules out anti-ISIS coalition with the West
By Arutz Sheva Staff 11/27/2015
The Kremlin said Friday that Western powers were not ready to form a coalition with Russia to fight Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists in Syria, after talks between President Vladimir Putin and French leader Francois Hollande.
"At the moment, unfortunately, our partners are not ready to work within the format of single coalition," Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
He added however that Russia remained open to cooperation "in any format our partners would be ready for."
After jihadists murdered 130 people in Paris this month in attacks claimed by ISIS, Hollande traveled to Moscow on Thursday, hoping to bolster global efforts to crush ISIS.
Putin had urged global powers to band together in the fight against jihadists in September during an address to the United Nations General Assembly, just before Russia launched its own bombing campaign in Syria.
Separately, a US-led coalition that includes France had already been staging air strikes against ISIS targets in Syria for over a year.
Putin and Hollande agreed Thursday to coordinate strikes and share intelligence in what was the most concrete sign of progress from the French leader's diplomatic marathon, that has also included talks with the leaders of the United States, Germany, Britain and Italy.
But the idea of a single anti-ISIS coalition involving Western powers and Russia did not get off the ground as US President Barack Obama is said to have given a cool response to Hollande's proposal.

Germany approves joining ISIS war in Syria
By Arutz Sheva Staff 12/4/2015
Lawmakers on Friday approved plans for Germany to take on a direct role in the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS) group in Syria, answering France's appeal for help.
Parliament voted for the mandate for the deployment of Tornado reconnaissance jets, a frigate and up to 1,200 troops by an overwhelming majority of 445 votes in favor and 146 against. Seven lawmakers abstained.
The parliamentary vote comes three weeks after ISIS jihadists murdered 130 people in a series of attacks in Paris, prompting France to invoke a clause requiring EU states to provide military assistance to wipe out the ISIS group in Iraq and Syria.
Britain joined the US-led bombing campaign over Syria on Thursday, striking an ISIS-held oil field as the momentum to take action against the jihadist group increases.
After repeatedly ruling out the use of "boots on the ground," US President Barack Obama breached his promises and agreed to send as many as 100 special forces to Iraq, with a mandate to carry out raids inside Syria.
A broad coalition of 60 countries has been battling ISIS since August 2014, although involvement in Syria has been more limited, with some Western nations wary of how military action could actually end up serving President Bashar al-Assad's regime, which they view as no longer legitimate.
