Praying Coach's 'Conduct Poses A Genuine Risk'
But apparently only to himself, as he is the one suspended.

A Seattle-area high school assistant football coach has been placed on paid leave until he decides to stop praying on the 50-yard line after games. His suspension came Wednesday and prevents him from coaching his team in their upcoming and final game of the season.
The Bremerton School District told coach Joe Kennedy back in September to cease from praying after the games to avoid a black eye on the district for appearing to endorse religion. At first, he complied, opting to give his players a motivational speech, according to a CNN report. But after a recent game, Kennedy once again took a knee in the middle of the field with his team.
That was the last straw for the Bremerton school district and a four-page statement was released explaining the decision:
This action was necessitated by Kennedy’s refusal to comply with the District’s lawful and constitutionally- required directives that he refrain from engaging in overt, public religious displays on the football field while on duty as a coach. While the District appreciates Kennedy’s many positive contributions to the BHS football program, and therefore regrets the necessity of this action, Kennedy’s conduct poses a genuine risk that the District will be liable for violating the federal and state constitutional rights of students or others. For this reason, Kennedy will not be allowed to further violate the District’s directives.
The statement indicates that no one is forced by Kennedy to participate in the post-game prayer and that students do so of their own volition. However, the district believes some of the players "suffer a degree of coercion to participate" just "by virtue of their participation."
