I just have to tell you what the Lord did for us just recently. I've been wanting to, but wasn't sure if it would be ok or not. So decided I'd go ahead and tell you and just not name names till I find out how they feel about it. Our car has been giving us a lot of problems and constantly breaking down. We knew it wouldn't pass inspection this year come December, but had no way of getting another car. Bruce had worked an extra job, but it was really hard on him physically, and due to the heart attack he had, I really didn't want him working two jobs like that. It was really hard on him and after a week he wound up sick from it anyway, so we both knew he couldn't continue to do that anymore. I guess we have to face the fact too that we're just not as young as we once were. So we were stuck. All we'd been able to save from that extra job was $400, and that's no where near enough to get a car.
So I'd been praying the Lord would make a way for us somehow, although I told Him I didn't have the slightest idea how He could do it. The car broke down last month yet again and it took Bruce 3 weeks and a lot of ingenuity and work to get it running again, but he finally did. It ran for just a few weeks before it broke down yet again a couple of weeks ago. It was obviously very unreliable and really wasn't all that safe anymore. I could tell Bruce was worried about it and couldn't figure out what to do because he wasn't sleeping well at night anymore. It broke my heart to know how concerned he was and how helpless he felt about it, so I stepped up my prayers.
The very next day, we got a call from a friend who asked us if the car was running. I kind of laughed and said it kind of was, but not really. I explained that we really needed to find another car. They said that was great because they had one for us - - that they had a car they didn't need and wanted to give it to us! I think I was in shock by then and explained we'd only been able to save $400, but if they'd be willing to let us pay a very little each month, maybe we could work something out. They said that wouldn't be necessary, all they wanted was $1 to make it legal! I was REALLY in shock by then, and all I could do besides saying "Yes!" and "Thank you!" was praise God for His amazing ways!
So now we have a 99 Chevy Tracker and it runs great! Bruce loves it and has been telling all his friends how wonderful God has been to us and how amazing He is in the way He provides for us! In fact, last Saturday, when we went to the store, was my first time riding in it. It really drove well and the ride was nice and smooth, which is saying a lot as our roads are pretty bad! The Lord is just so wonderful! I would have never guessed in a million years that He would provide for us this way! You'd think Bruce had a new baby the way he's treating that car. I guess it's a guy thing LOL. I found a picture of one online that looks just exactly like ours - yes, the one we got was so well cared for that it looks brand new! Bruce couldn't get over how clean it was, even under the hood!
I have to admit though that after praising God, I did ask Him if we couldn't be the ones to help someone else sometime soon though. I love how He provides for us in so many different ways, but I'd honestly much rather be on the giving end instead of the receiving end... know what I mean? But whatever His Will is, is fine with me. I just had to share our joy with you all, I've been dying to tell you about it. One of the great things about sharing testimonies of God's grace is that what He does for one of us, He will do for another. Perhaps not in the exact same way, but we can always be sure that He will provide for all our needs! Thank You Father!
