UN quietly suspends UNRWA staff for inciting against Israel
By Arutz Sheva Staff 10/23/2015
The United Nations has suspended and cut the pay of several employees of its “refugee agency” UNRWA, after the UN Watch NGO exposed that they incited to anti-Semitic violence.
UN Watch twice in the last month published evidence of incitement to anti-Semitic violence committed by at least 22 UNRWA employees.
In September, the group released a report documenting 12 different Facebook accounts operated by UNRWA officials that openly incite to anti-Semitism and terrorism. ...
On Thursday, UN Watch noted that the spokesman for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon quietly announced on the global body’s website that UNRWA employees have “in a number of cases” been subjected to disciplinary action, including suspension and loss of pay, following the NGO’s exposure of their incitement.
“Curiously,” noted UN Watch, “UNRWA’s admission was made public only as a bracketed addition buried deep in a UN transcript, and not posted as a stand-alone statement by the UN, or indeed anywhere at all on the UNRWA website.”
UN Watch welcomed the announcement, yet noted that “the UN statement hides more than it reveals,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of the Geneva-based non-governmental monitoring group.

Netanyahu to UN: You Are "Encouraging Terror"
By Michael Bachner January 27, 2016
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon was “encouraging terror” in response to harsh remarks made by Ban that “it is human nature to react to occupation.” Ban made the statement one day after Palestinian terrorists murdered a 24-year-old Israeli woman in a stabbing attack in Beit Horon near Jerusalem.
Ban Ki Moon spoke about the current situation in the Middle East at the UN Security Council on the evening of Wednesday, January 26. He said that the year 2016 has started with “unacceptable levels of violence” in the Middle East and placed the blame primarily on Israel.
“Palestinian frustration is growing under the weight of a half century of occupation and the paralysis of the peace process,” said Ban in his speech. “As oppressed peoples have demonstrated throughout the ages, it is human nature to react to occupation, which often serves as a potent incubator of hate and extremism.”
In his response, Prime Minister Netanyahu accused Ban of encouraging Palestinian terrorism. “There is no justification for terrorism,” he said. “The Palestinian murderers do not want to establish a state; they want to destroy a state and they say it out loud. They want to murder Jews, whoever and wherever they are, and they say it publicly. They are not murdering for peace or for human rights.”
“The remarks by the secretary-general encourage terrorism,” added Netanyahu. “The UN has long lost its neutrality and moral power, and the secretary-general’s statements do not improve the situation.”

Ban Ki-moon accused of war crimes
By Gil Ronen 1/27/2016
Gershon Horowitz, a longtime Likud functionary and retired army major who writes in leftist newspaper Haaretz, proclaimed Tuesday that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is a "war criminal."
Horowitz relied on the newly published Amnesty International report, which confirmed Israel's longstanding accusation that some of the rockets Hamas fired at Israel in the 2014 Gaza war were launched from UN-controlled facilities.
The UN should have known that its facilities were being used for war crimes, he argued, and noted that ammunition, too, was stored in UN schools.
When Ban told Israeli prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he insists that the UN investigate suspicions of Israeli war crimes, he was simply going on offense because that is the best defense, Horowitz surmised.
"As the head of the organization that allowed rockets to be fired on peaceful civilians from its facilities, Ban Ki-moon must stand trial as a war criminal," he stated.

UN Report Blames PA Violence on “Illegal Israeli Occupation”
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz February 12, 2016
“If a ruler hearkens to falsehood, all his servants are wicked.” (Proverbs 29:12)
In his final report to the UN Human Rights Council on Thursday, Makarim Wibisono, United Nations special rapporteur on human rights in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, accused Israel of using excessive force against Palestinians. He also called for Israeli authorities to charge or release all Palestinian prisoners being held under lengthy administrative detention.
Wibisono claimed that approximately 5,680 Palestinians were detained by Israel as of the end of October 2015, including hundreds of minors. He cited figures from the NGO, B’Tselem, which has been frequently criticized for misrepresenting international law, accepting funding from foreign anti-Israel entities, and for misleading or inaccurate statistical reporting.
“Hundreds of Palestinians being held, now including children, often under secret evidence, and for up to six-month terms that can be renewed indefinitely, is not consistent with international human rights standards,” he said. “The government of Israel should promptly charge or release all administrative detainees.”
Wibisono blamed the recent violence on the “illegal” Jewish settlements in the West Bank. He also referred to East Jerusalem as part of the “illegal occupation”. He also criticized the construction of a security wall, and Israel’s blockade of Gaza, which he described as a “stranglehold” and “collective punishment”.
“The upsurge in violence is a grim reminder of the unsustainable human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the volatile environment it engenders,” Wibisono said in his report to the Human Rights Council.
Israel’s foreign ministry dismissed the report as biased.

UN's Ban condemns Israeli 'land grab'
Following Peace Now report on declaration of 234 hectares as state land, Ban gets riled up, demands Israel backtrack for two state solution.
By Arutz Sheva Staff 3/15/2016
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon urged Israel on Tuesday to reverse its "confiscation" of land in Judea and Samaria, describing the decision as "an impediment to the two-state solution" that calls to divide Israel.
Ban's words came after Israel declared 234 hectares of territory to be state land, in a process of designating unclaimed land in Judea and Samaria as property of the state.
"Such actions appear to point toward an increase in settlement activities and demonstrate that Israel is continuing to push forward in the consolidation of its control of the West Bank," said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
"Settlements are illegal under international law and the secretary-general urges the government of Israel to halt and reverse such actions in the interest of a just and comprehensive peace and a just final status agreement," he said.
The 2012 Levy Report proved that Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is in fact legal according to international law. The report, however, has yet to be adopted by the Israeli government.
Making the UN condemnation all the more surprising is the total lack of UN response to the European Union's (EU) illegal construction on Israeli land for Arab residents of Judea and Samaria, in a rampant and blatant breach of the 1994 Oslo Accords.
Peace Now, a radical leftist organization that monitors Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria, said the order to declare state land was signed on March 10 as US Vice President Joe Biden wrapped up a visit to Israel and to the Palestinian Authority (PA).

UN Human Rights Rapporteur Candidate Calls for US and Britain to Bomb Israel
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz March 20, 2016
“And moreover I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there. I said in my heart: ‘The righteous and the wicked God will judge; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.’ I said in my heart: ‘It is because of the sons of men, that God may sift them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts.” Ecclesiastes 3:16-18 (The Israel Bible™)
The United Nations this week has appointed Professor Penny Green, a rabid anti-Israel activist, as the first choice for the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories.
If chosen, Green will join many others who embrace anti-Israel sentiments. One such example is Richard Falk, who served in the position from 2008-2014. Falk was a Princeton professor who called for US officials to be prosecuted for deposing Saddam Hussein. He also publicly theorized that the 9/11 attacks that killed almost 3,000 Americans were orchestrated by the US government and not by Al Qaeda.
His successor, Makarim Wibisono, was admittedly extremely biased against Israel. Before being appointed, Wibisono referred to Israel as “an aggressor and occupying power”, and Israeli victims of Palestinian violence as “a handful”, while openly embracing “the sacred Palestinian cause”.
This bias is to be expected since prejudice is built into the charter. The 1993 resolution that created the position described the function of rapporteur as “the examination not of a given region but of only one side, with the specific instruction to investigate ‘Israel’s violations of international law’ in the territories, while completely disregarding human rights abuses against women, Christians, and dissidents that are being committed by Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad or others”.
As absurd as it might seem, Wibisono actually understated the anti-Israel bias implicit in his function. Despite an endless supply of human-rights hotspots around the globe, the only place the UN has chosen to post a rapporteur is Israel. ...
Even more horrifying is her comparing Israel to the Islamic State (ISIS), saying the US and Britain should begin “bombing Israel for its massacres,” as they have ISIS.

Human Rights Council: Israel is worse than ISIS, Syria, N. Korea
By Matt Wanderman 3/21/2016
The United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) gathered on Monday to discuss five resolutions about Israel.
Unfortunately, the international body was unable to look into other pressing issues, such as the expansion of ISIS; Iran and North Korea's violations of UN weapons resolutions; and attacks on civilians in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
This is partially due to the body's infamous Item 7, which requires a review of Israel's human rights record during every session. There is no parallel to this for any other country in the world.
According to the schedule, the group will focus on Israeli human rights violations from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Issues as diverse as poverty, the mistreatment of women, xenophobia, indigenous peoples, migrant workers, children's rights, torture, education and more will then be crammed into the three-hour afternoon session.
The HRC was established in 2006 as a replacement for the Commission on Human Rights, partially because of the CHR's strong bias against Israel. Despite the change in structure, the HRC has adopted 61 resolutions against Israel over the past ten years, in comparison with a total of 73 resolutions against all other countries.

UN demands 'swift justice' after 'gruesome' killing of terrorist
By Arutz Sheva Staff 3/25/2016
The United Nations condemned on Friday the killing of a wounded Arab terrorist by an Israeli soldier in the city of Hevron a day before, after a video of the death was spread online.
"I strongly condemn yesterday's apparent extra-judicial execution of a Palestinian assailant in Hebron in the occupied West Bank," UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process Nickolay Mladenov said in a statement.
"This was a gruesome, immoral and unjust act that can only fuel more violence and escalate an already volatile situation."
Mladenov called on the Israeli authorities to "swiftly bring to justice" the soldier involved in the incident.
The Israeli army on Thursday arrested the soldier caught on video shooting a wounded terrorist in the head as he lay on the ground after stabbing another soldier.
The viral video clip, which was recorded by the far-left B’Tselem organization, has been disputed by witnesses on the scene, who argue that the video, which was taken at a distance and lacks audio, misrepresents the situation.
The soldier claimed that the terrorist appeared to be wearing a suicide bomb vest, and he feared the terrorist was trying to activate the explosive device.

ICYMI: UN Only Condemns Israel as Violator of Women's Rights
Leah Barkoukis | Mar 30, 2016
When you think about women’s rights…and then which countries in the world are the worst violators of them, Israel probably isn’t the first one that comes to mind. Unless you’re the U.N.
Out of nine official documents produced from the UN's annual Commission on the Status of Women report, only one of the UN's 193 members were mentioned in regards to infringement of women's rights – Israel – in what Jerusalem says in another case of UN bias.
It was the only report that focused on any specific country, and seemed to focus largely on the Palestinian issue, occasionally tying it in with gender-related issues, for example unemployment, which was the main complaint sounded by the report.
It is worth noting that according to a 2014 World Economic Forum report, Israel ranked 57th out 137 for female political empowerment; the US ranked 54th and Saudi Arabia ranked 117th. Some 27 of Israel's 120 Knesset members are women.
Surely flaws could be pointed out in any country, but to single out Israel while making no mention of the dozens of other countries in the world that are serious violators of women's rights is absurd. Just consider, for example, places like Syria, where women are being raped and tortured as a tactic of war; or Saudi Arabia, where they cannot drive a car or interact with men—the latter of which could get them charged with prostitution and jail time and/or lashes as a punishment; or what about in Palestine, where there’s been an uptick in honor killings in recent years, and where women cannot appear in public without headscarves; or the host of African nations where females are subjected to genital mutilation.
So, why Israel?

Iran paraphrases UN's Ban in justifying Palestinian terror
By Arutz Sheva Staff 4/1/2016
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Friday vowed that Tehran, the world's leading state sponsor of terror, will continue to focus on backing Palestinian terrorists who attack Israel.
"Supporting Palestine is the top priority of the Muslim world and terrorist crises in the region must not divert attention from the cause of Palestine and al-Quds (Jerusalem)," said Amir-Abdollahian, employing the term "terrorist" Iran generally uses regarding Syrian rebels.
Iran's support for terror has recently been buoyed by the sanctions relief from the controversial nuclear deal, as just this February Iran pledged $7,000 to the families of each Palestinian terrorist killed in the current Arab terror wave.
In his remarks, Amir Abdollahian called for a "genuine fight against terrorism" and "an effective support” for "Palestine," while describing Israel as the "root cause of insecurity in the Middle East," according to the Iranian state-run PressTV.

UN censors Israeli exhibit about Zionism
By Arutz Sheva Staff 4/3/2016
The UN has disqualified key sections of a special exhibition about Israel which present information about Zionism, Jerusalem and Arab Israelis.
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, who together with the NGO StandWithUs initiated the exhibition, expressed disappointment about the censorship, demanding that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon reverse the move.
"By disqualifying an exhibition about Zionism the UN is undermining the very existence of the State of Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people,” said Danon. "We will not allow the UN to censor the fact that Jerusalem is Israel’s eternal capital."
"According to this scandalous decision, Zionism is not worthy of the UN so we are taking appropriate measures. We will make sure that these banned exhibits will be viewed by millions around the world," he promised.
"The UN must reverse this outrageous decision and apologize to the Jewish people. Zionism and Jerusalem are the foundation-stones and the moral basis upon which the State of Israel was founded," concluded the ambassador.

The UN Obsession with Israel!
By Olivier Melnick April 6, 2016
When the League of Nations (founded in 1920 after WWI) was replaced by the United Nations in 1945, the world was hopeful that the new organization would succeed in averting another world war–a feat that the League of Nations clearly failed at. The UN prides itself in promoting international cooperation and world peace. It even won the Nobel peace prize in 2001 (but so did Yasir Arafat in 1994.) The UN current Secretary is Ban Ki-moon (since 2007.) In the first article of the UN charter, we can read their purpose for existing... ...
There is no doubt in my mind that the original crafting of the UN charter took a lot of careful efforts from its founding members to assure that the world organization would be equipped to function properly. As a result, we have seen many decisions made by the UN that definitely helped make the world a better place. One of these decisions was the 1947 vote for the partitioning of British Mandate Palestine, that led to May 14, 1948 and the re-birth of Israel as a modern nation (33 for, 10 against, 10 abstentions.)
But 1948 is nearly 70 years ago and since then, the United Nations have been less than friendly to Israel. As a matter of fact, for many years, there have been more resolutions passed against the Jewish state than the rest of the world combined (and here). For instance, in 2015, the UN adopted 23 resolutions, three against Iran, Syria and Korea and twenty against Israel. There are no indication that it will slow down in 2016. It is also very hard to forget the 16 years that it took the United Nations to revoke their 1975 resolution claiming that “Zionism is Racism.” And even if they did revoke it, the organizing of the Durban I (2001), II (2009) and III (2011) conferences against racism have shown that the target was once again almost exclusively Israel.
The United Nations’ obsession with demonizing Israel is obvious to any unbiased observer. Just days ago, the unbelievable claim was made by the UN that Israel was the number one country violating women’s human rights. The UN ignored Hamas, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, ISIS, Syria to name just a few of the countries were animals are treated better than women. Yet it found Israel guilty of human rights violation against Palestinian women. Is it me or whatever comes out of the UN is officially believed as fact by a world population that certainly doesn’t care to check for accuracy as much as it cares for stigmatizing and ostracizing Israel?
To add insult to injury, the UN decides to praise and promote violence, lies and murders. How do you explain the UN funded tree planting by Palestinians to honor the memory of terrorists? How sick is it to promote death and make murderers into martyrs while accusing the victims of human rights violation?

UN Shows Anti-Israel Bias by Ignoring True Human Rights Violations
By Palmer Williams
Last week the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) released nine reports on the state of women’s rights worldwide, and only singled out one of the 139 U.N. member states by name throughout all of the documents.
Did they single out a country where the barbaric practice of female gentile mutilation is permitted? No.
Did they single out a country where women are prohibited from being in public without a male guardian and are physically punished if they do not wear mandatory clothing? No.
Did they single out a country where women are routinely subjected to forced sterilizations and abortions in the name of population control? No.
Instead, the Commission singled out Israel – a country where women actively participate in all aspects of society, including voting and serving in the military, and whose laws prohibit the discrimination of women.
So why then would Israel be the subject of scrutiny for their treatment of women? In a document titled, “Situation of and assistance to Palestinian women”, CSW slams Israel for contributing to a “humanitarian emergency with an unprecedented scale of destruction, devastation and displacement” in the Gaza Strip that negatively affects Palestinian women.
Yes, the United Nations is blaming Israel for the state of women’s rights in Palestine, where the Palestinian Authority has allowed a terrorist organization to seize power and control, using women and children as shields as it launches terrorist attacks against Israel itself. In fact, it is Palestinian terrorists who have launched over 300 knife attacks against Israeli citizens, literally stabbing women and children in the back.
In response to the report, Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Ron Prosor told The Times of Israel:
If anyone has ever doubted that the UN is biased against Israel, today we got further proof. Of the 193 member states in this institution, dozens slaughter innocent civilians and impose discriminatory laws that marginalize women and yet they all get a free pass. The Commission on the Status of Women itself includes some of the worst violators of human rights, as Iran and Sudan.
And this bias is hardly new. For decades, U.N. bodies have unfairly and unfoundedly targeted Israel.
The U.N.’s Humans Rights Council (HRC), for example, consistently ignores gross human rights violations of member countries like China, Pakistan, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, while using its platform to blast Israel.

'UN uses the murder of innocent Israelis to attack Israel'
By Ari Soffer 6/10/2016
Israel has slammed the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) for "using the murder of Israelis to attack Israel," accusing it of "cynicism and double standards" in its response to Wednesday night's deadly Palestinian terrorist attack in Tel Aviv.
In a message given during a press briefing earlier Friday, United Nations rights chief Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein's office issued a mild condemnation of the attack itself, but then went on to say that he was "deeply concerned" by Israel's response.
The Jewish state's reaction "includes measures that may amount to prohibited collective punishment and will only increase the sense of injustice and frustration felt by Palestinians in this very tense time," the statement said. In response to the attack, the IDF has sealed off the town of Yatta near Hevron where the terrorists are from.
In response, Israel's UN Embassy accused the UNHRC of "break(ing) a new record of cynicism and double standards."
"The OHCHR is using the murder of innocent Israelis to attack Israel. Once again, instead of putting itself by the side of the Israeli victims, it settles for a forced, weak condemnation, and rushes to defend the terrorists.

U.N. says Israeli move on Palestinian permits may be collective punishment
By Stephanie Nebehay
Israel's cancellation of entry permits for Palestinians following a deadly attack in Tel Aviv may amount to collective punishment, which is banned under international law, the United Nations' top human rights official said on Friday.
Responding to the criticism, Israel defended its actions as "legitimate steps in order to defend its citizens from terrorists".
The Israeli military on Thursday revoked permits for 83,000 Palestinians to visit Israel and said it would send hundreds more troops to the occupied West Bank a day after a Palestinian gun attack that killed four Israelis in Tel Aviv.
U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein condemned the attack, the largest loss of Israeli life in a single attack since the current surge in violence, spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said.
But he is deeply concerned about the revoking of permits "which may amount to prohibited collective punishment and will only increase the sense of injustice and frustration felt by Palestinians in this very tense time", she told a news briefing.

UN ‘deeply disappointed’ by Israel’s new West Bank construction
By AFP and Times of Israel staff July 5, 2016
UN chief Ban Ki-Moon on Monday denounced Israel’s decision to expand the construction of homes for Jews at settlements in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem, his spokesman said.
The UN leader is “deeply disappointed” that Israel’s announcement came days after last week’s release of a key report by the Middle East diplomatic quartet — the United States, European Union, Russia and the United Nations — that urged Israel to stop building settlements, Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.
“This raises legitimate questions about Israel’s long-term intentions, which are compounded by continuing statements of some Israeli ministers calling for the annexation of the West Bank,” he added.
Ban said that “settlements are illegal under international law” and called on the Israeli government to “halt and reverse such decisions in the interest of peace and a just final status agreement.”

UN demands Israel free staffer alleged to have funneled resources for Hamas naval base
By Judah Ari Gross August 25, 2016
The United Nation’s legal department “demanded” that Israel release an employee of the international body, who has been accused of aiding the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, Israel’s ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said.
Danon and Israel’s Foreign Ministry refused the request, calling the UN’s claims that the man has immunity from arrest “unfounded.”
“It is inconceivable that a man aiding a terrorist organization will enjoy UN immunity,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
Waheed Abd Allah Bossh, 38, an engineer in the UN’s Development Program, was arrested by the Shin Bet security service in July. He is suspected of funneling resources to the terrorist group.
According to the international organization, all UN employees are entitled to diplomatic immunity. The group’s legal department also demanded that UN officials have access to Bossh while he is being held in a Beersheba jail.

Outgoing Ki-Moon Admits: Yes, UN is 'Disproportionately' Biased Against Israel
By JNS December 18, 2016
“How long will ye judge unjustly, and respect the persons of the wicked?” Psalms 92:2
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who is stepping down at the end of the year, acknowledged in a departing speech that there is “disproportionate” bias against Israel at the world body.
“We must never accept bias against Israel within U.N. bodies,” Ban said Friday.
Ban went on to admit that the U.N. has a “disproportionate volume of resolutions, reports and conferences criticizing Israel,” and that “in many cases, rather than helping the Palestinian cause, this reality has hampered the ability of the U.N. to fulfill its role effectively.”
Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon commended Ban’s statement and noted the disproportionate number of anti-Israel resolutions passed at the U.N. in recent years.

UN Uses Obama’s Betrayal of Israel to Unleash New Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Barrage on Israel
By Jay Sekulow
The United Nations (U.N.) is using President Obama’s betrayal of Israel – allowing a dangerous anti-Israel resolution – to unleash a new round of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) in an effort to further delegitimize the State of Israel. It has created a new blacklist of companies that support or do business with Israel in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
As Israel National News reports:
The UN General Assembly approved the funding of $138,700 towards the creation of a database of companies which do business in Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem.
The sum was approved on the same day that the Security Council approved the resolution, not vetoed by the Obama government, condemning all Jewish presence over the 1949 armistice lines, the Human Right Voices NGO reported.
The database would serve as a blacklist to help BDS organizations seeking to foster boycotts of the State of Israel.
The UN Human Rights Council (HRC) approved the creation of the database in March, but lacked the authority to fund the action. The General Assembly decision grants the project the necessary funding.
Make no mistake – President Obama has empowered Israel’s enemies. His Administration has emboldened terrorists.

UN Entity Calls Israel “Apartheid State”, Lobbies for Bringing Israel “to an End”
By Mark Goldfeder
This past week, the United Nation's Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), released a preposterous report declaring that Israel was an “apartheid state.” Further, it outrageously recommends bringing the State of Israel “to an end.”
The report, which the U.N. Secretary General has already asked to be taken down from its site (although the executive summary of the anti-Semitic report is still on the U.N.’s website), would be laughable if it was not so dangerous.
By way of background, the ESCWA is composed of 18 Arab states, the majority of which do not recognize the State of Israel's existence – a fact which, if logic played any role in these proceedings would cut against the ability of Israel to even be an apartheid state.
Until today the Commission was headed by Rima Khalaf of Jordan, a well-known anti-Semite who has, among other things, compared the State of Israel to Nazi Germany. Khalaf actually stepped down Friday after the report was widely criticized, but not before claiming that Israel was committing “war crimes against humanity.”
But what makes this instance of anti-Israel sentiment so disastrous is the fact that the report was actually co-written by Richard Falk, a disgraced 9/11 truther and conspiracy theorist, a man who blamed the Boston Marathon Bombing on "American global interests" and "Tel Aviv." In fact, former U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon once said that Falk is a man whose writing “undermines the credibility and work of the United Nations.”

Danon: Anti-Israel activists do not belong in the UN
Ben Ariel 17/03/17
Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon on Friday welcomed the resignation of Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Rima Khalaf.
Khalaf had earlier announced her resignation after backlash over ESCWA’s report which labeled Israel an "apartheid state". UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutteres demanded the report be removed from ESCWA’s website, and Khalaf subsequently stepped down.
"The Secretary General's decision is an important step in ending the bias against Israel at the UN," said Ambassador Danon.
"Anti-Israel activists do not belong in the UN. It is time to put an end to practice in which UN officials use their position to advance their anti-Israel agenda. Over the years Khalaf has worked to harm Israel and advocate for the BDS movement. Her removal from the UN is long overdue," he added.

More than Just Another Anti-Israel U.N. Farce
by Jonathan S. Tobin March 17, 2017
It isn’t easy to get worked up at the United Nations, an institution where the egregious is merely business as usual. But even veteran observers of the world body had to sit up and take notice when its Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia published a report about Israel that Secretary General Antonio Gutteres himself immediately disavowed. The lengthy document purported to prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that the state of Israel was guilty of “the crime of apartheid” according to international law. As such, it didn’t merely criticize Israel’s policies in the West Bank; it called into question the legitimacy of the Jewish state itself, even with pre-1967 borders.
The immediate reaction to this piece of libel from both the head of the U.N. and the U.S. government was quick and appropriate. Through his spokesman, Gutteres said he was not consulted by the report’s authors and its contents did not reflect his views. Nikki Haley, the American ambassador to the U.N., said that the United States was “outraged’ by the report and demanded that the secretariat officially withdraw it.
Gutteres agrees, and today said the report should be withdrawn from the U.N. website where it was published. But whether or not it is pulled from that site, the damage is already done. The report is a pseudo-scholarly compendium of specious charges, distortions, and outright lies. Even for an institution in which agencies devoted to human rights are run by representatives of Saudi Arabia and Iran — an institution that has made grossly unfair accusations against Israel something of a sport over the years — this one stands out, because it goes beyond merely smearing the Jewish state offering legal justification for future attacks against Israel and Jews. Never before has the U.N. officially tied Israel to apartheid.

“If Israel Did Not Exist, You’d Have No One to Blame”, ‘Son of Hamas’ Tells UN
By Tazpit Press Service September 27, 2017
“A man’s folly subverts his way, And his heart rages against Hashem.” Proverbs 3:10
The Palestinian Authority is the “greatest enemy of the Palestinian people,” a former Hamas member Mosab Hassan Yousef told the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva on Monday.
“If Israel did not exist, you would have no one to blame; take responsibility for the outcome of your own actions,” said Yousef, 39, the son of one of Hamas’s founding members, Sheik Hassan Yousef.
Yousef’s statement at the UNHRC came during a debate on Agenda Item Seven, “Human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories”, which singles out Israel for permanent censure. Yousef spoke on behalf of UN Watch, a Geneva-based pro-Israel organization.

UN finds tunnel opening under UNWRA school in Gaza
By TOI staff
United Nations officials discovered a tunnel built under a school in the Gaza Strip run by UNRWA, the international body’s agency for Palestinian refugees, the global body said in a statement.
Since the discovery some two weeks ago, UNRWA closed the school and sealed off the opening to the tunnel. The school resumed operations last Wednesday, the UN organization said.
The statement Saturday did not say where the tunnel led, where it was found, or who was believed to have constructed it.
“The presence of a tunnel underneath an UNRWA installation, which enjoys inviolability under international law, is unacceptable. It places children and agency staff at risk,” the agency said.
UNRWA informed Israel’s Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories, IDF Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, of the incident and also lodged a complaint with the relevant authorities in Gaza over the violation of the neutrality of a UN facility, according to a Sunday report from the Hebrew-language Ynet website.

UN to Spend $1.3 Billion Helping Palestinians Attack Israel
By: Adam Abrams/JNS.org October 31, 2017
“They plot craftily against Your people, take counsel against Your treasured ones.” Psalms 83:3
The United Nations has earmarked some $1.3 billion to fund Palestinian legal campaigns against Israel and to support the creation of an independent Palestinian state, in what experts are calling an unprecedented act singling out the Jewish state at the world body.
A document that was recently signed between the U.N. and the Palestinians outlines a “strategic programming framework” in the disputed territories from 2018-2022, and states that the U.N. will work to advise the Palestinian Authority on how to exploit “international accountability mechanisms” in order to hold Israel accountable for alleged violations of international law. The document is set to come into effect Jan. 1, 2018.
The document makes no references to Palestinian violations of international law and human rights, nor does it specify that the $1.3 billion in funding should be applied to humanitarian assistance. Rather, the U.N. document states that the money should be used for developing programs that support “Palestine’s path to independence.”
“The funding of this unprecedented and prejudicial aggression against a member state by the U.N. is clear evidence that the international body’s goal and solution is for a single Palestinian state to replace Israel,” Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, president of the Tel Aviv-based civil rights organization Shurat HaDin – Israel Law Center, told JNS.org.
“It’s a new form of anti-Semitic aggression and terror by other means, and it plainly violates the U.N.’s own charter,” she said.

Denouncing UN chief, Danon says Gazans need protection from Hamas, not Israel
By TOI staff and AFP
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon condemned on Saturday several suggestions aimed at boosting protection of Palestinians, which were proposed the day before by the international body’s Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Danon said that Arab civilians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank required shielding from their own leaders, rather than from Israel.
Guterres’s proposals included sending UN rights monitors and unarmed observers, and deploying a military or police force under UN mandate. The suggestions were contained in a report requested by the General Assembly in response to a surge of violence in Gaza, where 171 Palestinians have been reported killed during Hamas-led clashes with Israeli troops since late March. Dozens of the dead were members of terror groups, Hamas has acknowledged.
“The only protection the Palestinian people need is from their own leadership,” Danon said in a statement. “The [Palestinian Authority] incites its people to demonize and attack Jews, and Hamas, a terrorist organization, uses the people in Gaza as hostages and endangers the lives of civilians for terror’s sake.”
“Instead of delusional suggestions on how to protect the Palestinian people from Israel, the UN should hold the Palestinian leadership accountable for the harm caused to its own people,” he further charged.
Danon added that the suggestions presented by Guterres “would only bring about continued Palestinian suffering at the hands of their leaders.”
