Obama Abandons Pastor Abedini, Would Veto Bill That Requires Iran Release Him for Nuke Deal Approval; ACLJ Calls Decision 'Despicable, Outrageous'
By Stoyan Zaimov May 1, 2015
Pastor Saeed Abedini is imprisoned in Iran for working with underground churches and his effort to build an orphanage.
President Barack Obama's administration has warned that it will veto a proposed amendment that would require the release of Pastor Saeed Abedini and three other American citizens held prisoners in Iran before any final nuclear deal agreement is reached. The American Center for Law and Justice, which represents Abedini's family, called the admittance "despicable" and "outrageous."
"That is simply unbelievable. Refusing to discuss the Americans being held hostage by Iran at the bargaining table and rejecting any congressional attempt to make any deal with Iran contingent on the release of the Americans is unacceptable. It's quite frankly appalling," the law group wrote in an update on Thursday.
"This is despicable. This is outrageous. And it is an insult to the captive Americans and their families," it added.
The response is aimed at comments made by White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest to an ABC News reporter asking about the Corker Bill and amendments being debated by the U.S. Senate that would require Iran to release the imprisoned Americans before any sanctions are lifted.

Saeed’s Wish: Pray for America
By Jordan Sekulow, yesterday
As a family member visited him last week, he was able to deliver an open letter (available in Farsi here) that he would like to see read by Christians all across America as we approach the National Day of Prayer.
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
I have been made aware that the National Day of Prayer (May 7th) falls on my birthday this year! As an American and as a prisoner for Christ I have spent many hours praying and crying out to God for revival for this great nation. We all hope for the success of our nation and for America to be blessed, but without revival there can be no true success or blessing. As Ezra’s cried out to God in repentance and the Israelites joined him in weeping bitterly and turning from their sin, I would like to ask you to join me in repenting and praying for revival. Me from inside of these prison walls and you on the outside.
Ezra 10:1 “Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, and bowing down before the house of God, a very large assembly of men, women, and children gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept very bitterly.”
Ezra re-built the spiritual walls of Jerusalem while Nehemiah re-built the physical walls. Therefore, please join me in rebuilding the spiritual wall of our beloved country.
In times of need we see how much government and authorities can influence our everyday life, and when we see that their decisions do not match with our beliefs and standards, our initial reaction is to blame the leadership or the situations surrounding us for our hardships. But the truth is that change has to start with us, just as a wave has power to lead it's surfer so by revival we, as the people, can help or push our leaders to follow their callings.
Change starts with us. Revival starts with us. The first step to revival is praying together in unity as a nation. The National Day of Prayer is a great opportunity for us to come out and use the freedom that we have been given. So many Christians around the world are imprisoned and martyred for their faith in Jesus. You have the freedom to gather across the United States at your state capitol to pray. Please use this opportunity. Please use your freedom for the Kingdom of God.
We see in Ezra chapter 10 that despite the heavy rain and their shivering the people still gathered together. People should stand under any pressures to pray for their nation, for the Lord to bring revival, and to stand under the rain of the Holy Spirit to be filled by His manifestation.
Remember my chains in your freedom and chain together in unity for our beloved America. Know that I am chained with you in prayer on that day in seeking God for America.
There is no other way but to be crucified with Christ so that we may experience the power of His resurrection in our beloved country.
So much love to America, Pastor Saeed
His powerful words are a reminder of his faith – a faith he holds to as Iran holds him hostage.

I am so sad and angry that Obama is yet again going to abandon Pastor Abedini!!! I am afraid that they may soon kill Pastor Abedini. Yet pastor Abedini stands steadfast in the Lord, tho they beat him, and torture him. He continues to show his enemies the Love of Jesus. We pray for him every night ( and I pray for him throughout the day). he desperately needs surgery from the beatings and tortures but they do not give him any.

Congress Gets One Right: Bring Pastor Saeed & the American Hostages Home
By: Matthew Clark (Diary) | June 2nd, 2015
The time is now. Bring the American hostages home.
That was the message echoed over and over again today in Congress.
American Pastor Saeed Abedini’s wife, Naghmeh, delivered a compelling message to Congress, urging it to do all within its power to bring her husband home.
She testified alongside family members of the three other American hostages held in Iran: Jason Rezaian, Amir Hekmati, and Robert Levinson.
Their message was unified, regardless of any deal with Iran, bring the American’s home.
Pastor Saeed continues to suffer for his Christian faith. He is serving an eight-year prison sentence because he met with fellow Christians in private homes in Iran more than 10 years ago – something perfectly legal at the time under Iranian law. But now Iran considers this peacefully religious assembly a threat to the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Naghmeh testified that the nearly three years Pastor Saeed has already been imprisoned have taken their toll. “I have been carrying with me a deep excruciating pain knowing that my husband continues to suffer yet another day in one of the worst prisons in the world,” she said, continuing, “I’m not just worried about his physical pain, but his psychological [pain].”
Now is a critical time. As the U.S. and Iran continue to sit at the bargaining table negotiating over a final nuclear agreement, time is of the essence.

Franklin Graham Just Boldly Stood Up To Obama- And It Could Save Someone’s Life
by B. Christopher Agee June 16, 2015
Sentenced to an eight-year prison sentence nearly three years ago and behind bars in Iran ever since, calls urging Barack Obama to secure American pastor Saeed Abedini’s release continue. Western Journalism covered remarks Abedini’s wife, Naghmeh, made at CPAC earlier this year.
She said her husband has been abused and her family torn apart while the current administration remains inactive.
“What message are we sending to the world?” she asked. “When we don’t speak, we are doing the same thing the persecutors are doing to my husband.”
The latest to weigh in on Abedini’s behalf was prominent evangelist Franklin Graham. In a recent open letter to Obama, he explained the imprisoned pastor “suffered another severe beating” by fellow inmates last week.
Graham pleaded with Obama to act before it is too late to save a man imprisoned for the crime of following Jesus Christ.

1,000,000 Strong: Release Pastor Saeed
By Jordan Sekulow June 22, 2015
1,000,000 signatures and growing.
That’s how many have signed our petition for American Pastor Saeed Abedini’s freedom.
Tomorrow, Pastor Saeed will have suffered 1,000 days wrongfully imprisoned in Iran because he is a Christian.
He has been beaten, threatened, demanded he recant his Christian faith and become Muslim.
The world is rising up with one voice, demanding Iran release this innocent U.S. citizen. One million unique signatures. That’s 1,000 signatures for every single day of Pastor Saeed’s imprisonment.
We are overwhelmed and grateful for this outpouring of support. The American people – and people all across the world – are being heard. The world is not only listening; it is speaking out.
With just days to go before the stated June 30th deadline for negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, all eyes are on Iran.
As news of Pastor Saeed’s plight travels across the globe, so does the overwhelming display of support.
Pastor Saeed shouldn’t have to languish another single day in one of the world’s worst prisons. He shouldn’t be forced to endure another day of the pain from prison beatings. He shouldn’t have to miss another Father’s Day, Birthday, or anniversary away from his loving wife and adoring young children.
The American people have spoken; Congress has unanimously spoken; the world is speaking out – demanding Pastor Saeed be freed.

Message From Pastor Saeed
By Jordan Sekulow 24 June 2015
American Pastor Saeed Abedini was able to briefly visit with a family member who is still in Iran this morning in the prison. The visit lasted just a few minutes – the shortest in-person visit he has had.
Pastor Saeed has now been wrongfully imprisoned for more than 1,000 days. Pastor Saeed shared a message with his family member that he wanted passed along to his supporters.
As Pastor Saeed’s wife, Naghmeh, explained:
He wanted us to know that for 1,000 days he has experienced utter darkness and has died, yet for 1,001 days, he has been resurrected with Christ. That for 1,001 days he has learned to forgive over and over and over again. That for 1,001 days he has chosen Christ over what they have tried to force on him and he has stood on his faith in Jesus Christ despite the pressures, tortures, and threats.
He wants you all to know that through the Grace of God and your prayers he has been able to stand strong and see lives redeemed inside of the prison. He has felt your prayers in prison as no prison walls can hinder them.
More than 1 million supporters have signed our petition for Pastor Saeed’s freedom – that’s more than 1,000 signatures for every single day he has been imprisoned.

Persecuted Pastor's Wife Breaks Silence on Obama's Broken Promise
Laura Zuckerman/Reuters 7/16/2015
President Barack Obama should have secured the release of jailed U.S. citizens before sealing a nuclear deal with Iran, and the accord should not win congressional approval until their freedom is guaranteed, the wife of a detained Iranian-American pastor said on Wednesday.
Saeed Abedini, 35, a naturalized U.S. citizen, was sentenced by an Iranian court in 2013 to eight years in prison for allegedly compromising Iran's national security by setting up home-based Christian churches in his native country.
His wife, Naghmeh Abedini of Boise, Idaho, said her husband has faced threats to his life from Islamic militants held in the same prison west of Tehran and that his physical and psychological health has deteriorated from a lack of medical care and from stays in solitary confinement.
Abedini is one of three Americans known to be currently detained in Iran.
His spouse said their release should have been assured before Obama even agreed to the talks that produced a deal on Tuesdayaimed at restricting Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
The agreement has drawn fire from Republican lawmakers, but Obama strongly defended it in a news conference on Wednesday, saying it was the only alternative to a nuclear arms race and more war in the Middle East.

I have heard that Donald Trump mentioned something that Saeed Abedini should be released from the Iran prison. There are four other Americans being held in Iran prison, I don't know the name of three of them but one of them name is Livingston.
