Kentucky clerk still won't issue same-sex marriage licenses
Published September 01, 2015 FoxNews.com A defiant Kentucky county clerk, who has been ordered to face a federal judge on Thursday in a hearing about her refusal to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, says she won't resign.
“Some people have said I should resign, but I have done my job well,” Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis said in a statement posted to the website of the law firm that represents her, Liberty Counsel.
“I never imagined a day like this would come, where I would be asked to violate a central teaching of Scripture and of Jesus Himself regarding marriage,” Davis said in the statement. “To issue a marriage license which conflicts with God’s definition of marriage, with my name affixed to the certificate, would violate my conscience. It is not a light issue for me. It is a Heaven or Hell decision. For me it is a decision of obedience.”

Kim Davis was put in jail today. Marriage licenses will start to be issued again tomorrow Friday. The district court judge said that a good faith belief is not a viable defense.

Praying for Kim Davis. She has broken NO law. She has only broken a false interpretation of the law.

I just hear on KFI Radio news during Bill Carroll show Here wire copy Clerk who fought gay marriage freed from jail GRAYSON, Ky. — The Kentucky county clerk who was jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples was released Tuesday after five days behind bars, emerging to a tumultuous reception from thousands of cross-waving supporters. "I just want to give God the glory. His people have rallied, and you are strong," she told the crowd after stepping outside, her arms raised like a victorious boxer, to the blaring Rocky theme song "Eye of the Tiger." She added: "Keep on pressing." Her lawyer refused to say whether she would defy the courts again. "Kim cannot and will not violate her conscience," said Mat Staver, founder of the Liberty Counsel, the Christian law firm representing Davis. As for whether she will issue licenses, Staver said only: "You'll find out in the near future." The Rowan County clerk whose jailing helped make her a hero to the religious right walked free after the federal judge who ordered her locked up lifted the contempt order against her, saying he was satisfied that her deputies were fulfilling their obligation to grant licenses to same-sex couples in her absence www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/clerk-who-fought-gay-marriage-freed-from-jail/ar-AAe4jjf
