Taylor Swift's promoter called off her concerts in Vienna this week after law enforcement in Austria announced the arrests of three people over a suspected plot to attack the venue.

"With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety," Barracuda Music said on Instagram late on Wednesday, adding that all would-be concert-goers would have their tickets refunded.

Suspect confesses to violent plan

On Thursday, police said one suspect had made a full confession.

"He said he intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives," said Omar Haijawi-Pirchner, the head of Austria's domestic intelligence agency.

Taylor Swift still due to perform in London – with police evaluating intelligence

The Minister for Policing of the United Kingdom has stated that Scotland Yard is currently evaluating intelligence ahead of Taylor Swift's upcoming concerts in London - the final European dates of her Eras Tour.

Following the cancellation of her three Eras Tour concerts in Vienna, which were targeted by an ISIS-connected terrorist plot, Taylor Swift’s performances at Wembley Stadium in London later this month are set to go ahead – with probable added security measures.

The pop megastar closes the European leg of her Eras Tour in London on 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20 August – dates which have not been cancelled at the time of writing.

I'm not exactly a "Swifty" but I do like some of her music (Willow comes to mind). Someone I do enjoy very much is scheduled to perform in Vienna on the 24th at the House of Strauss is Alexandra Kuznetsova (stage name "Gamazda". She is a classically trained pianist who covers a lot of popular and metal songs, along with classical pieces. She's amazing!

Third suspect arrested in Vienna in Taylor Swift plot

A third suspect has been arrested in Vienna over a plot to attack a Taylor Swift concert, Austria's interior minister said on Friday.

The announcement that another teenager was in custody came a day after two arrests had been made in connection with the threat that prompted organizers to cancel a trio of concerts planned for the Austrian capital.

Suspect allegedly swore allegiance to IS
Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said that the latest arrest concerned an 18-year-old. The main suspect was 19, and a 17-year-old has also been detained.

Karner said that the main suspect and the man arrested on Friday had sworn "oaths of allegiance" to the "Islamic State" (IS) terror group.
